troll would say post it here.
Non troll would say that my ether wallet supports passphrase unlock of wallet. you can verify like that
you cant set it up without verifying it...
lol you stupid cunt
its the one thing they say you need to do.
transfer your shitcoins to a temporary address and reset the device
lol I haven't
theres no way not to do it.
you would need to throw away the recovery leaflet
this. i've set up my ledger a few days ago and i had to verify two words before it was finished.
Post your private key I'll decrypt it for you.
I burned the recovery leaflet once I had made a book cipher of it. So you're saying there isn't any risk that my recovery phrases are wrong?
XD
>buy another ledger
>restore it with your 24 words
Now you have verified your 24 words are right.
actually, if OP is too stupid to proper set up his ledger he should stay away from crypto because i'm not in the mood for another pink wojak thread based on technical incompetence.
I dont get it... what you mean by verify? You mean cryptographically, or just recheck the words on paper? I manually went through each word twice, but other than that I didnt do any other verification. You dont want to type those words to any electronic device.
the first thing after setting up my Ledger I locked it out just to double check I can unlock it with my passphrase
Fuck I just ordered a second ledger, no loss having two.
Thoughts on nano vs trezor?
nano. 100%
Best money you'll ever spend
Cheers my knee grow, researching now!
yea op I suspect you are an idiot, but if not
use this site on a permanently offline computer, enter your mnemnonmic phrase then check to make sure it's generating the same addresses.
You should have gotten locked out of the pin to test it before you sent money there, but this is a way to check without having to test it for real.
So i enter my Bip39 with spaces or without? ill try both on an offline old windows xp craptop i have.
worst comes to worst ill just eat the tx fee and then lock myself out
Also when it generates the same adress will that be my public key I will be weighing it up against? Sorry im a bit of a potato. I checked my phrase 8 times but I was a moron and didn't actually test it
I think its with spaces. You'll have to do some research. There are a few settings you have to adjust to get it to display the addresses that the nano ledger generates. It has to match the 44'/60/44 (as an example I don't remember what it actually is). It's all online so look it up. I'm brainletish and I figured it out.
It generates public keys and addresses. So you can match either.
oh yea I forgot to say, you can figure out the 44/60 thing using myetherwallet so you know which one to set the derivation path to on the iancoleman site. That's what finally clicked with me so I understood what to do.
