How swanky are you jumper?

>Anime man
>not knowing Miyazaki
You fucking serious, m8?

Place your servant on this spectrum, People who have taken a Fate/ Jump or will take one if they have plans for it

...

I was the servant so somewhere in the middle I guess?

>DM Notes: Kill Everyone
Sounds about right.

My servant is a rapper so... all the way into swag?

Somewhere off to the side of the spectrum

Well he is letting him get an extra spell for consuming the spiders.

That is probably a class feature.

The proper term is "torpedo bulges"

And it's funny because the Iowas actually had not all that great torpedo bulges.
NorCar a best. Fat piggu go home

I have a sailor moon question (likely a dumb one) would a constellation be an acceptable celestial body to be the Senshi of?

Last thread we started a list about special eyes.
since half a day has passed I though I might post it now for people who werent lurking then
So far we have:

sharingan(naruto)
byakugan(naruto)
rinnegan(naruto)
shigan(samurai deeper kyo)
red mibu eyes(samurai deeper kyo)
true red eyes(samurai deeper kyo)
various mystic/pure eyes(Nasu/Type-moon verse)
Oboro Mystic Eyes(Basilisk)
Gennosuke’s Doujutsu(Basilisk)
(You)
the various Demon Eyes (Mushoku Tensei)
Enchanted Eye (Strike Witches)
Drafter/Light Splitter (Light Bringer)
wizard eyes (Adventure Time)
Mystic Eyes of Affection (Senran Kagura)
Mad Eyes (Redwall)
Eyes of the Goddess (Tortall)
Ocular Angst (Dragonlance, but its a drawback)
Insight (Bloodborne)
Beautiful Eyes (Riddick)
Cognitohazardous (SCP, sort of)
Eyes of the World(Bayonetta)
Chaos Eyes (webmage)
Shinigami Eyes(Deathnote)
Stolen Witch's Eye(Soul Eater)
Various Sights(Siren Blood Curse)
Demon Eyes(Mushoko Tensei)

Also Demon Empress of Jumper Eyes (or maybe Jumper Empress of Demon Eyes, I'm too lazy to look it up) from Mushoku Tensei. Just stick your fingers in someone's eye socket, swirl them around, and when you pull them back out their eye heals into the new type of eye.

Yeah, but he has to eat ALL the spiders. As we all know, dog-cats are only required to eat a third of the spiders in a jar.

We have one or two perks that allow you to replace a ritual with some magical energy, but do we have the opposite? That is to say, do we have something that will allow you to cast a spell for free at the cost of a significant investment of time?

I think its in masters of magic, lets you break spells down to be cast as rituals from a place of power.

That is basically the entire thing of Formalcraft in Dresden files. It doesn't take much magic talent just a lot of set up and knowledge. Formal craft is stuff like rituals and circles.
I am sure other magic systems have stuff like that as well. It's not even something that you need a perk form.

Jumpers, what are some settings you want to destroy? Tell me about the places you plan to burn to the ground for whatever reason.

Since I asked people what places they would like to fix earlier, I figured why not ask the opposite question.

Perhaps it is the third phase of the moon. Everybody knows the power of dog-cat skills wane inversely with the square root of the moon's phase.

If you take the typical senshi origin backstory, no. Senshi that were reincarnated on Earth came from the Solar System, of which the constellations are not a part of. There are Senshi that come from Constellations (They are main characters in the last arc, where Sailor Galaxia comes from), but they did not fight against Queen Beryl. I'll allow you to be the senshi of a constellation, but you'll be a visitor from another constellation who gets involved in the world.

Being a Senshi of a comet is entirely valid, and Sailor Sol is a good option. Sailor Earth is taken by Mamoru.

You mean Type Moon?

Hmm...that's a good point. I hadn't considered that. Though wasn't that only implemented in the 3rd Edition? As I recall, humans were only immune to shotgun based attacks in the 2nd Edition.

40k, HunterxHunter, Dark Sun, High School DxD, Metalocalypse. Probably more.

Don't we have a perk somewhere that lets you always be considered to be under moonlight or sunlight or something?

Commorragh. I've got an entire afterlife waiting to contain the putrid souls of the Dark Eldar, so Slaanesh isn't getting them, either.

The Room

While true, they gave humans with the Inn Maid template in 3rd Edition immunity to shotgun based attacks after community uproar reached it's maximum during the Gazebo incident of '89.

This conversation reminds me of a thread back when I still used the rpg.net forums about inventing a setting just through discussing rules changes between non-existent editions. That was a fun thread. Wound up with a pretty cool premise, if I remember right, I should find that thread again and see if I could actually make a game of it.

Gundam SEED. I plan on doing such awful things to Orb. They deserve it, though.

Terraformars

sometimes I think I am the only one who plays Commorragh.
Being a Haemonculus is entirely too much fun

Oh, that's right, I forgot about that. Geez, the Gazebo incident was a mess. What idiot decided that Gazebo's needed to be buffed even MORE? They were already ridiculous as they were!

It's surprisingly fun, to be honest.

It's a lighthouse in Dark Cloud 2.

No I meant dresden files, It specifically mentions it in one of the books. It was how a group of women without much power were cursing a porn movie director.
Though Fate/ does have a perk that specifically makes you good at it now that I think about it.

plays Commorragh *straight*
damnit keyboard work with me

How dangerous is Panty & Stocking? Are there any city busters running around?

Are Nanoha devices magical foci, as in, you channel your own magic through something for increased power and precision? Or is it more like they learn spells you cast, and then cast those on-demand?

Well, the demons revive a giant mountain sized ghost at the end of the series, with the angels summoning their mom, who promptly kills it just by stepping on it. She's freaking huge. So...there probably are city busters around somewhere. We'll never know though, because the series ended on fucking cliffhanger.

Say it with me, everyone: GAINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAX!

There are a couple of building-sized ghosts that can wreck shit. There's also a giant worm monster locked up under the town, which gets released in the finale, that dwarfs skyscrapers.

I know, right? Between Fire and Arrow immunity they were already party killers even with the best parties, but to give them Tentacle immunity and three more maces? I mean, if two wizard men and a tentacle princess can't punch a hole in it, what chance does any normal group have?

He's right, I have no idea why this is so much fun, but it really is.

And let's be honest, it beats another power level argument

well the main characters to block bullets on a regular basis. And they do fight some BS at the end: youtube.com/watch?v=idvo6FNUy-E

oh and unless you are a very high chain jumper dont take the gainax drawback

Eh, that was because they were using the cosmic equivalent of a vending machine. Insert a ritual and a sacrifice into a slot and a specific entity will shape that energy for you into a spell. It's not really something you can set up to cast any of your magic without cost and probably wouldn't even work outside of the Dresden Files.

Besides, it's scrub magic for people with no talent of their own. They were using several people, an ancient vampire king, and human sacrifices to accomplish something a moderately skilled wizard could have pulled off on their on and that Harry was able to casually catch and throw at someone else.

Yet another Nanoha questiob (sorry for that), but at least its one that just requires knowledge of the series.
If you take both the Hooked drawback, which railroads you into being a member of Nanoha's team, and the Jewel Seed Incident scenario, do you go through the TSAB path or the unaffiliated path?

Alright, thanks I think I'll go with a more normal choice actually. I had an idea but I think I can find something else that would be better suited to the story.

I was a shirtless man with a sword. Swag?

>Anounced something Panty & Stocking related in november
>/a/ loses its shit
>it was just a cafe
GAINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAX

>oh and unless you are a very high chain jumper dont take the gainax drawback
Really? The note about your most powerful abilities being unexpectedly countered lead me to believe that having a bunch of jumps wouldn't necessarily help you survive. The corollary to this is that it's theoretically survivable without 100+ jumps, if you fight smart.

I honestly just want to take it because it sounds fun, and is probably what would have happened if the series had continued.

A little of both. Devices do the heavy lifting of the spell. You still have to know how to cast the magic, for the most part (some Devices, mostly Intelligent Devices, can cast the spell for you), but the Device takes care of all the repetitive and boring bits that a human doesn't want to handle. It's like doing math with the assistance of a graphing calculator. Quite literally, in fact, given that Nanoha magic is mathematics-based. But yeah, a Device is an aid for a mage, not a replacement for one.

Something I'm not clear on for Dresden Files magic, can someone help me out? If you already have a ton of mana from other jumps, can you pull some really big flashy stuff on par with the Queens or Senior Council, or is there a limit on a Wizard's output beyond their pool? Is it like how in Slayers where there's a disconnect between the Bucket and Pool?

If there ever is a SD Gundam jump that is one setting I would destroy with glee. It was just so horrible. To this day I must say it's the worst thing I have ever watched. I hear the Sub wasn't so bad but the dub version was so terrible. It would be a mercy kill.

Probably towards the right.
Probably Warhammer 40K. Not because I hate it or anothing, I just want to create my own Green Sun equivalent, and it seems pretty doomed anyway.

So, is it possible to just channel raw magical power through them without destroying the device/the device getting in the way?

It didn't help that they were planning on nerfing tentacle princesses as well. Fucking hell, man, wasn't the butchering they got in the 2nd Edition enough?

At this point, I'm convinced that Gainax is doing it on purpose. They have to be.

I'm pretty sure, yes. It's been a while since I've watched any Nanoha, but I believe they can be overcharged without too much risk, so long as the amount isn't ridiculously high.

god that was the best thing ever. no one tops gainax when it comes to trolling. even the trailer for eva 3.0 was a giant troll for the fans.

Are these "bits"?

Considering they cut Asteroid Lizard from 2nd Edition, they honestly deserved it. 1st Edition still remains the best, despite the problems it has with Potion Ammunition easily being duplicated at low levels. All you have to do is add in that home rule and it runs great.

I still fondly remember the time I held off a Shade Tree with an Asteroid Lizard on his last leg while the party's Dog-Cat ate three bowls of dirt to resurrect the Tentacle Princess. Fun times, fun times.

Hmm... Do you think that if I were to import another focus as my device, that I would be able to channel magic "normally" while bypassing the device? Because I'm at the point where I don't really need "help" in terms of mental processing. In fact, I'm pretty sure the device would only slow me down, unless it can operate at speeds exceeding mach 100.

Link to the comic?

mach 100 != computational speed

Yes, and? It's still a barrier and additional step to casting magic. If it would normally amplify spells as soon as they were cast, needing to be processed by a computer is one more limit to casting speed, especially if it can't instantly receive the input.

>3.0
RAAAAAAAGE!

Yeah, 1st Edition really was the best. I swear to God, though, those freaking cultists would always steal my lawn gnomes. I could never get a full set with them around.

Think I already mentioned this before, but I once made the mistake of going to a banned Jump. That planet doesn't exist anymore.

Also; Heavens, you're an absolute butthole. Your goddamn Jump's got me hooked and now I kinda wanna watch Nanoha. Mad props. Check my build:

Keeping my Y chromosome and spending 50 cp to start at 8 years of age. Boy, that is one sentence I didn't ever expect to write.
Wanderer Origin
Age is No Barrier (Free)
Well Adjusted (Free)
Zenryoku Zenkai! (850 CP) It's always nice to be able to let loose every once in a while. Now I can do it without murderizing whoever I'm fighting.
Friendly Rivalry (700 CP) I've already got the one perk from Generic Magical Girl that lets me befriend people by beating them up, but... Eh. I'll take it anyway.
I CAN BE SHOT (500 CP)
Power of Friendship (200 CP) So this one's also just friendship via combat, except it also includes Therapy no Jutsu on the side. Worth.

Summoning (-200 CP) I've been reading Ryuugi's The Games We Play recently, and just realized that summons are dope as hell and I'm retarded for having ignored them.

Blood of Kings: Sagebrecht (-500 CP) I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings! Also, I can now glow with more colors than an a clown car crashed into an LGBT parade. Eat your heart out, Ragyo.

Mid-Childan System (Free) I've sorta been neglecting ranged combat, which it looks like this setting has plenty of. So this system's probably gonna help out a lot.

Items: Moolah and Unlimited Pizza Works (Free)

Companions: Brought along the squad, never leave the house without 'em. (-700 CP)

Devices: This stuff's actually pretty awesome. But I don't really rely on individual weapons much, since my Stand is pretty much just UBW. Still, I did put some effort to make me a kick-ass sword.

Device:
Shooting Mode (500 DP)
Fulldrive (200 DP)

Barrier Jacket:
Overdrive Form (100 DP)

Enhancements:
Mana and Efficiency Boosts (0 DP)

>Cont...

*chuckles* dont we only have one actually banned jump? discounting the lewds I mean?

He went to CoC.

Drawbacks:

Extension, so I can hang around 'till the cast actually grows into bodacious babes.

Separated (-600 CP) Guess I'll catch the squad on the flipside.

Lost Logia Magnet (-500 CP)

Targeted (-300 CP) Someone's got a bone to pick with me. Again.

Scenarios:
Mantle of the Saint Kaiser (0 CP) Hoookay, let's get this straight; So I'm the clone of an ancient king, grown in a tube by some nutters, the inter-dimensional magic FBI(?) took me in as a ward, I get Assassin's Creed-esque flashbacks from my ancestors, and some religious people think I'm Jesus Christ/The Dragon Reborn/Azor Ahai Come Again/The Prince that Was Promised.

Sounds like fun.

Material-LSD (300 CP) Dimension-traveling super girls from the darkest timeline who want to beat my ass six ways from Sunday, huh? I can take 'em.

The Jewel Seed Incident (500 CP) Well, I was planning to butt in on the plot anyways, so might as well get paid for it, right?

Nuclear Launch Detected (700 CP) Honestly... these guys sound like a bunch of pushovers. Might as well grab that sword and painting, right? Though I gotta admit, I'm a bit worried and excited to find out what an "Internal AMF" is supposed to be and how much of a fight it can put up.

Belka Reborn (Forget the CP, I'mma just take the ship) Not sure who I'd side with here, considering I don't know who the good guys or bad guys are. Guess I'll play it by ear.

It's cool to take all the Group B's, right? They don't really seem as if they contradict each other or make anything impossible.

I'll use my leftover CP to kick Natural Potential up to SS and grab dat dere Modern Belkan.

...And now that I've finished writing this, I just realized something; I'm some sort of weird magic royalty who runs on the power of friendship, with the ability to summon magical beings, and thanks to my Stand, can copy and paste weapons for days. It might be a bit of a stretch, but...

>mfw I realize who I just turned myself into

Who?

Also, what's your Stand?

AMF is an Anti-Magic Field. So some of your magic will be taken from you/negated.

Also, the Belka Reborn scenario is two different things, apparently? One path has you deal with the reborn Belkan Empire, with the goal of fighting hem off. The other one has you try and lead the broken Belkan people to form a new kingdom, outside of the reign of the Church.

So what's the actual benefit of being a Combat Cyborg in Nanoha. Seems kinda pointless from what I can tell.

Yeah, it kinda is. Heavens came down a bit too hard with the nerfhammer, as you can tell.

Can you side with the reborn Belkan Empire?

The Thaumaturgy perk in Exalted Mortals is basically this.
The results are a little weaker, but you can also teach them so it evens out.

No I mean I can't find canon info on what benefits they have over nornal people.

Nope, you have to fight them. You either fight the reborn Belkan Empire, or help them become great again.

The on you can buy in the jump mainly means you're more physically capable without actively using magic to enhance that I think?

The one's in canon have things called inherent skills, magical abilities they have from their augmentations. Things like Ride Impulse (Super speed), Rumble Detonator (Turn metal into an explosive) and Silver Curtain (Illusions).

Is anyone planning on a Dishonored 2 jump? If so will there be a canon companion option?

If there is, don't let you-know-who touch it so it isn't tainted.

My servant is a child Arturia who hits people with Rhon like it was a sword and so get summoned as a Saber despite using a lance? She may or may not wear a lion costume.
Where does that fall?

Who do you want to companion?

Yeah, Voldemort makes some awful jumps.

I think there was talk of making it, but nothing has really come of it.

Emily; I would want Corvo's power set and she has her own, that way my group would have both. Also she might make a good waifu.

I thought his jump was pretty good, desu. :^)

Yeah the Dark Lord is way to conformist in his jump making for my tastes. Do we need an immortality and power option in ever jump man.

Emily's powers are pretty damn cool, yeah. I feel like she's not as straightforwardly strong as Corvo, but she has so many weird tricks that it makes up for it.

Does the purchasable Hero of a Thousand Faces come with a sheath?

I'd think you could store it in anything you wanted to, given the whole shapeshifting thing.

Is there anything that you could use to get all your thrown or launched projectiles to return to you?

What I want to know is if it can split into multiple pieces, so you can do sword and shield, or relevant to this topic sword and sheath, or many swords at once.

You could probably enchant everything to do that or use higher level psychic stuff to pull them back, but do you really want your bullets to boomerang back at you?

Is there a weapon import option that gives an accompanying sheath?

Speaking of Mamoru, I have a question about him.

If I used the Unholy Heights retroactive gender swapping perk on him, would the female version of Mamoru be an actual Sailor Senshi?

Gilgamesh has a Noble Phantasm that he uses to return stuff to the GoB. Can't remember what rank Val said it would be though.

>Excalibur to using maces to toss around whole crowds given a few seconds and an effort of will. Creating huge swords to cut through battleships or pneumatic fists to outpunch mecha are similarly possible, so long as you have the strength and constitution to lift them.

Given "pneumatic fists", I'd say probably?

He already fielded this question. Mamoru is the one with the crystal of earth, so yes, if you turned him into a girl he would probably become a full fledged senshi.

The Dark Assembly Ticket from Disgaea is more fun.

Depending on who you ask there are plenty of banned jumps

What's that do?
