A mistake

Welcome to living room 40k!
Where I run around taking awful blurry shots of a 40k game, almost as bad as GW's official stream!

Veeky Forums, that means you palying guard
and I am the Orks
The rules are like so.
If you squint you may see 6 small disks, each of these are worth 2 points. Line breaker, firstblood and slay the warlord are all 1 point.

The Orks set up first and are going first without a lucky seize. Warlord traites are master of the vanguard and divide to conquer.

The weird boy has da jump and da krunch

The enemy warlord is pask who has old grudges.

Night fighting is in play.

Quick, the Orks are assault the book gate of carpet town. Deploy your guard no further than the dice line to try and stop them.

Terrible. Get a proper play space or don't play. That means no unpainted or improvised scenery, appropriate terrain only, and no unpainted or proxy models.

(you)

Sounds super elitist, but this. This game is a visual hobby. It's why we have miniatures and not just tokens and gaming pieces to begin with.

Leman russ deploys at back left corner facing BW, infantry wall around the leman with lascannons at the back.

Chimeras deploy in the two pieces of natural terrain facing forwards

Agreed. OP could at least just photoshop some terrain in over the books and dvd cases. It's not 1987 any more.

Exactly. Play chess if you want abstraction. In 40K we need to determine exactly what is going on.

you have my attention

Right, sorry for the delay.

With searchlights springing to life... Please roll to seize!

Newscum think they can just walk into this hobby and start playing. When I started, it was months before I even had my first game. Months of painting, list optimising, getting correct terrain, proper scenery for the terrain, etc, before I even dared show my face at the table. I expect no less from others. Take this shit elsewhere.

Sorry my friends, this is mid-night ghetto 40k.
Please try to enjoy this terrible sight the best you can.

I remember doing this with a bunch of CDs when me and some friends felt like playing Warhammer fantasy but we didn't have our models but we all had our armybooks in our backpacks.

By that I mean, someone please post with dice+1d6

Please take on the roll of the imperial guard!

Hey, man, clearly this fight is taking place on a warp-tainted planet somewhere in the eye of terror, which is littered with giant distorted relics from a bygone age. Get with the program already.

Rolled 6 (1d6)

Rolling cos I play IG.

let's try this. Are spoilers in the options line now?

good job guardsmen

Well shit, look at commander lucky!

With most of your men bunkered up with heavy weapons on one side and some flanking vets on the other your men sit about 24" away.

How do you want them to move and how do you want them to shoot?

No, you spoiler like this

[.spoiler] and to end [./spoiler]

But without the .

I say we should have at least something cover the pass

Fair enough.

Anything with a weapon team remains stationary, Pask moves up 6" on the right side of the guardsmen, Chimerae(?) on the right side the table go cruising speed around, not through, the terrain.
Shoot anything in range at the bikes. I hate Ork bikes.

Agreed. Put Pask in range, Chimeras won't do jack diddly on turn 1. Be sure to have them smoke in Shooting, and Pask try for Strike N Shroud if he's in range too.

Guard moves forward blasting everything they have in to the bikes!
Three of them die but the Warboss passes his panic test with a 5.

End of guard turn 1.

Pics.

PLEASE TELL ME WE LEFT SOME DUDES BETWEEN PASK AND THE ORKS.

Bad news!

On Ork turn one the battle wagon, sitting 20" away, had all the tank bustas fire out of it only to score three pens on a chimera and wreck it for first blood.
Even worse, the plasma vet squad is pinned!

Brother I am pinned here

Any other casualties?

Perhaps all rolls should be done here. Or would that slow things too much?

Did you remember the night fighting + smoke launchers + potentially intervening cover?

I'm sure he did.

Turn 2 for guard.

Apart from the chimera the Orks failed to do any damage, most of them choosing to run or turbo boost. They now sit around 20" away.

The boyz and the dread are approaching the breach from behind a wall, your lascannons canny see them but they may not be able to see you.

The bikes hide out of sight of the tank behind the cat statue, you will need to move if thou wish to shot them.

Your flamer platoon squad sits behind the pinned plasma squad in cover, the Ork horde is far away but the battle wagon looms. Even if you disembarked it is too far for melta range.

Orders for this turn?

No cover, it shot it's multi laser and killed a biker, 3 pens and 3 failed night fighting saves.

"no"

I'm doing the rolls on my side because it would take years to do them here.

Has everyone lost interest already?
Please respond.

20" means they're within 2 feet of Pask...

It's hard to tell what's going on with that picture quality...

It looks like I'm the only Guard player responding so I'll take command.

Standby for orders.

>MOVEMENT

Roll Chimera no. 2 12" all the way to the left, over the wreck if you have to. I want it front N center.

Flamer squad to the left as far as they can go while staying in cover.

Autocannon Platoon as they are.

Plasma squad is pinned.

Pask and Co. traverse left. Bring that Trukk into sights.

>SHOOTING

Order 'forwards for the emperor' on lascannon team. I want them to fire on the Trukk, then displace right and forwards, directly behind the autocannons.

Pask and Co. attempt to Split Fire. I want the battle cannon aimed straight at that Deff Dread. Pask fires on the Trukk in burst mode.

Flamer Team is out of range.

Plasma team holds fire.

Melta team onboard chimera holds fire, because that vehicle is popping smoke.

These aren't my men, but I'll make them fight.

>mfw I walk into this thread

I've lost contact with the field. What's going on down there?!

Sorry my friend, after roughly 40 minutes of no responses I packed up and got ready for work.

the fate of the guard just another fading spark in the galaxy of 40k.

Hmph. Replaceable losses.

This is why no-one likes Warhammer players, you know.
