Considering it's basically a giant walking set of PAULDRONS, I don't think there is much to like if you're not a fan of those.

Except they're not bolter armed tacticals, they're heavy bolter armed heavy support squads. You won't have a squad or two of them advancing hey diddle diddle, straight up the middle with spear and sword units.

And yes, the disintegration beam is a weapon the Custodes use. For example the bike here has such a weapon in the middle. In other images you can see a bolt cannon and a lascannon mounted there.
