The storm has gathered and will soon culminate into a cataclysm of biblical proportions! Supreme Overlord Asdrubael Vect will rise above the lies of the followers of Ynnead and herald the climax of this galactic disaster!

First for the Dark Kin! First for the True Eldar! Long live the Eternal City!

Fracture of Biel-Tan formations/spoilers when?

imperial knights are stronger than riptides

GS2 epub w h e n

How do I take exalted sorcerers to make them good, or possibly even fun?

lol

6th for eldar is anime cancer

This is a well know fact since the day O'shaserra was almost killed by knights in the house Terryn homeworld

Tau are far more anime cancer than Eldar ever could be.

how many points is a steel legion squad? i cant find information on it

>two wraithcannons
>solitare moving 12" on foot ap2 naruto dagger 3+ invul

T. Eldar player

So if I wanted to strip my noob-painted Dark Vengeance DA (my only DA), are they going to be of use as the Fallen now?

Why are people at game stores such huge faggots to me because I play tau? Stop crying retards. You all have a psychic phase and all sorts of other faggotry. So what if I use 2 riptides and stormsurges? You faggots bring imperial knights and psykers. Deal with it nerds

quick, post badly designed centerpiece models

Hey lads, shovel me some steaming hot opinions for a second.

What edition of warhammer 40k was the best edition?

Best fluff, best rules, best gameplay.
And explain why.

>giant mecha
>literal anime protagonist characters
>the """"""good guys""""""
>openly inspired by anime t. fluff writers
nice try taufag

>"We have come you" for spoke the marine, in the spookiest voice he could
>As he spoke the Night Lord fondled his hedge clipper impatiently
>"But first let me play you the song of my legion!"
>WUB WUB WUUUUUUB! WUB WUB wub Wub
>The user before him fell to his knees
>"Stop please, I beg you! Its so shit!"
>The Night Lord sparked the throttle on his hedge clipper, its throaty roar merely added to the cacophony of shit musical taste
>"Kill Me, Kill Me now! I can't stand it anymore!" Screamed user
>"Another metal head user." wept the Night Lord, his tears half drowning him in his helmet
>The hedge clipper made short work of user. But soon other anons heard the shit music
>And the cycled repeated

...

Today I had a 1500 point game with Space Marines against Genestealer cults, and I lose by a mere two victory points. Unlike all of my games nothing of statistic improbability happened but it was still fun

Some highlights
>Predator executioner blown up turn one, robbing me of most of my anti-tank
>Patriarch and genestealer bodyguards weren't relevant until turn 3 where they got a 6 on cult ambush to fucked shit up
>Magnus periled himself to death summoning
>I actually killed everything he summoned except for 5 genestealers
>Rifleman dreadnought did not die all game, despite walking in front of 3 lascannons and an autocannon to score 2 victory points, 11-13
>Warlord did not die, for once
>Sergeant Kickass almost killed the patriarch, but died before he could inflict any wounds
>The floor was not wiped with my army, and I ended the game with a decent number of models on the table
>A lone Genestealer Acolyte spent turns 2-5 running away, very entertainingly
The man of the game was my Chaplain dreadnought, pictured here missing an arm, who made a 9" charge to blow up a Leman Russ Vanquisher and then wiped out a squad sitting on an objective to score me a victory point, before dying.

Sure, but isn't it fascinating that I find so much Anime-inspired Imperium fanart?

10/10

>fanart
40k fans are faggot weebs, now you know.

someone the other day was telling me that taking signature systems on a commander with the Tau is the far better route to go than to have an ethereal. Despite me being a fan of its bonuses that it provides.

Post your dudes tell of your dudes exploits!

7th

>stormsurge
>only one d weapon
>wraithknight
>jump gargantuan with two wraith cannons
>BS 4

My Nostraman.

*Magus periled himself to death
whoops

>NL will never get chain glaives in 40k

I'd take a squad of melee chosen and glaives any day of the week if I could.

Sure, and I accept that. But the vast majority of the weeby fanart is not of the weeby faction.

Rogue trader

Why do you say that?

Anyone have a codex for Raven Guard?

The main reason I would agree is that an Ethereal is more squishy and likely to give up a Victory point. Doubly so if it's your warlord.

I personally run a Cadre Fireblade as my HQ. Less of an area buff, but still cheap and less vulnerable.

Stormsurge can push out 6 D shots per turn. Sure you need 6 markerlights to get any good out of them but still. Enough to annihilate almost any single target in this game with slight luck.

Why not just run them as Chain axes?

What the hell was Magnus doing with genestealers?

Honestly there's no reason to buy this shit model. Just buy the forgeworld one.

It's like they decided to throw out the whole roman style on him and goes for spikes for no god damn reason.

Damn phone!

You mean 4.

4 missiles + 2 from main cannon.

Four one use

Because chain axes aren't +1S Ap3 rending?

The only reason I can think of to get it is for Chaos conversions, and that really is because he's covered in swirls and spikes and they made him the size of a Daemon Prince.

Even his left arm is super reminiscent of a Helbrute.

We don't have any info on the gathering storm II formation yet do we? I have about 1500 points of DE and I'm not sure if I wanna spend money on the book, models and then get some craft world Eldar also.

I think he was taking about the model, because he thought you were worried about not being able to use 30k glaive-wielders for fear of fluff.

That would imply people take the piddly-range D shotgun.

Just put the Magnus head on and get rid of the ultra-marine shit and it would be perfect.

..True, you got me there.

Everytime I borrow my friends Tau I take Stormsurge with it and go full all out offensive. SS wins most melees with stomps anyway.

You can give the whole mob FNP, Fearless and +1WS just with HQ additions. It also increases the effects of some Warlord traits like Infiltrate, rerolling 1's for units within 12" of Warlord, etc. Plus with Sanctic Daemonology you can give the whole unit a 6++ save and/or +2 Strength.

You can also charge multiple units in a single turn if you feel like it.

It's got a fair bit of hitting power thanks to up to 10 Power Klaw nobs hidden in it.

There's also the psychological warfare element. Laying down 100+ Orks in a single unit that spans the whole deployment zone can make some opponents worried. The Tide tends to soak up firepower, letting your other units like MANZ close the distance on the flanks.

That's not to say its the be all and end all. Being all one unit means the enemy can just focus their firepower on it, and there are some sickeningly good anti-horde weapons out there. It can also be effectively tarpitted by units like Bloodthirsters.

But if you want to use Boyz, it's really the only effective way to do it.

Yeah. File off the kneepad, fix the shoulder pad, ditch the purity seals, give it whatever chaos head you want, and add spikes to taste.

Ah. I was actually contemplating fluffing them as lightning claws. LC are specialists and glaives 2h so neither get the bonus attack, their both ap3, and I get shred instead of +1s and rending.

...

>two weeks ago roll three Tzeentch dice rolling three threes
>Today take my bloodsplatter Khorne dice and roll four fours
The fall is subtle

I just dont see the whole chaos thing people are saying about his armour and also he doesnt even seem that big probably about dreadnaught sized at most.i rather like the way he looks Tbh

Have I been playing my melee wrong? I watched a batrep for nids vs tau and I see this guy in melee vs tau and the broadsides had like 4 melee strikes(basically 2 each). Is there anything that specifies that I get more than just 1 attack in melee? I dont exactly get how melee truly works other than I am supposed to lose every time

It's the A under the profile of your units. Most battlesuits have 2 attacks, with some having 3.

Does anyone have rules for Yncarne?

so melee is actually based off of the assault. Oh I thought that only applied to my shots. Didnt realize that it was for ALL of my attacks. FYI I just started in december. So as long as it says assault 2 then I get 2 hits in melee? Now that is only if it says assault right?

Post yfw Gulliman is actually Alpharius

The rulebook explains all this. Your ranged weapons don't effect the amount attacks you get in the assault phase.

No. Not the shooting profile. The profile of the unit. You know, where it has wounds, toughness, leadership, all that?

I play Tau. I don't really care who wins the gue'la civil war.

But don't you want to be on good terms with the King of the Space Marines?

oh WHOOPs, well I was glaring over that and now it makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up.

If Guilliman wasn't around for the rise of the Tau, what do you guys think his reaction will be to finding out about having blueberries growing in the backyard?

didn't mean to reply to My bad.

3rd
After that they basically fucked everything up.

Haven't seen them yet. Or the new psychic table

Probably a bit of confusion as to why they didn't wipe them out sooner, followed by understanding as they pull up the big chart showing Tyranid Hive Fleets, Necron Uprisings, and how many Black Crusades there have been.

I made a thing. It's probably bad, but it's probably fun.

Newb questions:

Why is 1850 such a common point limit for armies in 40k?

Which edition of the game was the best?

Cuz

subjective

You better get more of that glorious greater close combat ready. Soon I, Emperor of Mankind will challenge your leading """""""""people"""""""" to contest of drinking, eating, fistfighting, killing Necrondragons with your bare hands and such.
Prepare yourself.

As the person who has been posting night lord theme song posts, you had me crying.
10/10 funny

>Why is 1850 such a common point limit for armies in 40k?
Because tournament faggots

>Which edition of the game was the best?
Objective answers that usually lean towards whatever edition they started with. Personally, 4th was fun, but I loved playing 5th edition.

Alright.
What was your favorite edition?
Did the rules used to be better in older editions?

Does anyone have that photoshopped Guilliman>emperor conversion? My google-fu is weak.

It seems to make little difference in the grand scheme whether the the baseline dogmatic cultists or aberrant mutant cultists win. Though we've had more peace with the Emperor-cultists than the mutation cultists, we've had more war as well.

...

so as a newbie it feels like 750 to 1000 points is the sweet spot for the game in many cases aside from trying to field a ton of units and huge faggotry. Would this be an OK observation?

Does anyone have a pdf or link to a mega with the pdf for building a lord of skulls? Thanks

Cheers!

I love 1000pt games. That's all my old shop ever played, and we had a blast. In my experience, 750-1250 is the best size of game, with 1500 being a good top end, especially in a more casual meta.

we got the leak for the psychic powers but not the formations or new characters. there's a couple of chances to regain health on the new characters. the new ability soulburst may have made them too powerful.

>squad of wyches next to scatterbikes
>wyches get wiped but scatterbikes get a free shooting turn in the enemy shooting phase

imgur.com/a/dbR41

>scatbikes
>not wraith guard

Going to be interesting to see what ends up in that formation that lets the whole formation soulburst.

Why is the Terryn homeworld within the Tau Empire?

don't wanna rape the lgs all at once and give them a small measure of hope. also we get ulthwe black windriders and they're bound to be good

Blood Bowl 40K when?

I don't think anyone ever claimed otherwise.

Not a great painter by any stretch but here's my test Wraith Guard/general scheme.

why is it so far from the camera, rat?

they are an infantry squad

...

We've already seen it from the WD.
pretty sure its the 2 units of wyches, 2 units of guardians, and 2 units of harlequins formation.

No - I'm not a good enough painter to justify any level of effort in photographing my stuff.

Here's a closer shot
