Feels only Veeky Forums kids will understand

Just feels you only really experience in some aspect of neckbeard culture, I'll start

>that feel when you're clipping sprues and a bit pops off the sprue and flies across the room, disappearing to a space between realities, never to be found again

the horror felt during the same experience when instead it is a piece you need to complete the model

>Tfw the players make characters and decisions accurate to the adventures tone and story.

A rare but good feel

>>that feel when you're clipping sprues and a bit pops off the sprue and flies across the room, disappearing to a space between realities, never to be found again

Do it the gunpla way. Brace the sprue against your hands or fingerss when you cut so the parts don't snap and fly away.

>When you're clipping a very thin, delicate component out of the sprue and it snaps in half

I lost one of the lamp bits for the Admech spider mechs that way.
Pissed me off to no fucking end.

>Friends excited and talking about your game between sessions
>friends eager to play again

>tfw you're the DM of the group due to experience, but one of your players starts their own campaign and it's miles better than yours

>when the strategy you prepared during deployment pays off on turn 6 and wins you the game

>Tfw the "strategy" you planned during deployment was too dependent on dice and the chance you took didn't work out.

Tfw when you fail one dice roll or fail multiple dice to get one result, and you watch as that one failure butterfly effects through the entire game, and you get fucked and wonder if there's any way you could have changed things

>threw seven dice and needed 2 4+s to put rending on a wraithknight which would have absolutely killed it, didn't roll a single 4+ and it proceeded to rape me for the rest of the game blowing up all my vehicals at 1 wound

The only single-hand GK force sword. And when I found it
The blade was in two.

>when you confidently tell your opponent the emperor will protect you
>he proceeds to miss important shots and fails big saves
>you win the game through dice rolls

>when your opponent drops a glistener elf t1 game 1
>that smug satisfaction when you pay 4 life to dismember it and give no fucks

>The difficulty of choosing between 2 good looking bits, like weapons or heads

>When your opponent plays Slaanesh daemons and rolls a 6 whenever the game counts on it.

>Targeting yourself/your own creatures in order to fuck the opponent's plan
Rare feel, but I love when it goes right.

>tfw your players actively hate the antagonist

I feel like we could get along.

tfw you haven't rolled above a 8 all night

>when you bolt the Bird and it fucks up their entire hand.
>when you keep a greedy one land hand and top deck every land you need.
>when you're 1- 1 going into game three and Mulligan to find your sideboard. It's not there, but you keep anyway. Take your scry, and that one card you need is on top.

That's why I keep my cat around. I only play fetch games with him and his toys so when one of my bits goes flying he's off like a shot and finds it immediately.

>tfw the Eldar player leaves the store because nobody will play a game with him

>when your opponents gets the nuts and combos off early but you have the answer and win anyways

Modelers have that problem too

When you just can't let go.

I know this feeling.

>TFW you find your lucky d20, the one that feels right in your hand, has that perfect rolling length that gives you the best sound, and gives you good rolls when it really matters.

>when you're a Chaos Marines player and somebody is a Tyranid player

Fucking this. I really felt the feel.

>when you play Orks and everyone likes to play you because they can whoop you really easily.

>tfw your lone Dire Avenger kills the opponent tau player's commander suit after successful charge and assault.

>mfw they actually take over the session and you dont even have to steer the campaign

I wish they played like that all the time.

...

Explain?(I haven't into 40k yet)

That's an entire page worth of upgrade choices Chaos Space Marine players used to be able to take that got mostly removed in later editions of the game.

Ah. Going from Battle Network Falzar and Gregar to Star Force. Got it.

That edition of the chaos codex had options for everything. Veteran skills for troops, pages of war gear upgrades, army lists for playing specific legions. Options upon options with more options on the side. All of which were stripped out in the next codex.

>getting a new plastic kit and groping your way through the bit box to build your HQ masterpiece

>having to restrain yourself from buying an entire box of minis you'll never use because it comes with a single bit that'd look great on your HQ

I wonder, is there a MMBN (or even just Mega Man) tabletop system out there? I dunno how well it'd lend itself to an RPG - the former probably a bit better - but I always loved those games.

>tfw tyranid player
>tfw we still have the biomorphs that no longer have rules on many of the sprues that are still in production.
IT'S NOT FAIR ;_;

Why user? Did you want to jack into someone's squirrel?

MMBN is probably best played using a Supers system, like HERO, M&M, or Savage Worlds.

What would be really cool though is a Skirmish Wargame using Cards that act like Chips.

I've been doing a homebrew since forever that I've passed around now and again. Its X era though.

I rather like that idea. The system I use already is vaguely wargamish. I might simplify it down a bit and do that as a module sometime if I ever bother finishing the other two modules I have planned (Human Aces and Vehicles of the Maverick Wars).

>As much as Chaos has lost, the Tyranid have lost more.

We feel for you. Someday you'll get your Build-A-Bug workshop back. Someday.

If you were playing me id let you use them bro, as long as you have rules.

>TFW you have a painted army but no one to play

I just keep painting them. I just want to roll some dice :'(

Looks good, but Battle Network was the Dark Horse of the series. An Isometric RPG among a series of platforming shooters. It's battle system was a cross between a card game and an action shooter. It was beautiful.

I yearn for this. Since non of my friends makes even half the effort I put on my games when they're DM'ing probably will never see this. At some point they should accept that they can't write for shit and instead should run one of the millions of quality adventure mofules available

Well aware. I've played a lot of Megaman games to say the least. I even have one of the PET toys around somewhere. Only ever had the stater chips though.

Where abouts do you live, user?
Perhaps there is another 40k player here.

>when your opponent T0s 4 Leylines into play, drops serra sanctum and Opalessence and you have a FoW in hand

>When you still haven't gotten model updates
>At least I'm getting better at conversions

>fingertips are crusted with dried metal glue
>hands are covered in knife and scalpel cuts
>the table has dried green stuff, color stains and sprinkles on it
>the air in the room smells like spray paint and toxic glue
>eyes hurt because you've sat under the daylight lamp focusing on minuscule details for multiple hours without pause
>static grass refuses to come off of your clothes
>tfw you look at this(imgur.com/a/TPnBU) and realize all of this was worth every god damn second.

Magnets?

>When you set up an overly dangerous and obvious trap for you PCs, but everyone epicly fails their perception roll and walk strait into it
>What was going to be a warning or clue suddenly snowballs into a shitstorm
>Tfw you didn't intend to fuck they players over, but it suddenly becomes exciting to see them get destroyed from pure accident

>tfw your only real friends are your parents, but that's ok because they love roleplaying games and they're the reason you love roleplaying games.
I don't have a proper image for this one, sorry everybody.

You were forged in the flames of roleplay, none can defeat you.

...

I know that feel with my dad and older brother, because
>tfw when you have inherited your fathers ability to generate random tables in your head
Despair not, user, for we are Grognards, sons of Grognards, and we need only Rule 0.
And pizza. We need only Rule 0 and Pizza.
And booze. We need only Rule 0, Pizza, and Booze.

>tfw losing so much teaches you to appreciate everything but winning
>attain the Zen of the Failed Waaaaagh
>Become guy everyone likes to play because you're a cool tranquil guy
>Get whooped really easily

>TFW for years you've run shit games with shit players
>TFW they give more shits about their characters damage potential than their name
>TFW none of them really give a shit and spend most of the time bullshitting and looking up memes on their phones
>TFW you lose all interest trying to run games for a pack of psychopaths that want to murder every NPC
>TFW you give up hope and quit TTRPGs all together

THEN
>TFW you get talked into trying again with a completely new crew
>TFW when they are COMPLETELY committed to sparkle motion
>Their characters have names!
>They have backstories!
>They have personalities!
>They have reasonable interactions with NPCs and eachother!
>They are providing you with fucking ACTUAL plot hooks to use!
>They repeatedly tell you how pumped they are for the next session after every session
>TFW you've never been more energized to run a game and yet never been more terrified to fail them

God damn I love my new players.

>TFW you and your buddy play silly games of 40k
>Angry marines vs Chaos cultists
>Ork buggy fight only ramming
>Recreate scenes from books

...

>tfw you spent months and months collecting and painting an army, fully completed and based, finally field it for the first time in all it's glory
>got shot off the board turn 2 by that fat fuck's all-dark-lances list, which was either outright unpainted or just covered in thick goops of purple and green paint

>tfw you're planning to do this seekers of slaanesh and khorne berserkers when you don't play chaos because you're White Scar would look so rad
Talk me in to/out of it
I too, am fully cognizant of this feel.

>When you decide Eldar need another buff

>when you're away someone lets some children into your room
Goodbye, Reverend Custodier's arm. I'll see you on the other side.

I know that feel. Better than chewing 5 gum.
