Threadly question:

Seeing as we always hear about the same few tactics, /hhg/, what are your views on (viability or fair play, either or):

>Spartan deathstars
>Militia and Cults Cult Horde and Tainted Flesh Levy blobs.
>Allies, since I don't see many of them around.
>Knights Errant
>The Extra LoW box that noone ever seems to use.
>Primarch power creep.

How many times are you going to post this?

>The Extra LoW box that noone ever seems to use.
????

I liked these more when they weren't posted in every thread. Skip the next one, make it more of a surprise in the one after.

Hey you.
Do this as well.

Dubs pick next copy-pasta.

>>Spartan deathstars
If you want to put all your eggs in one basket that's fair enough.

>>Militia and Cults Cult Horde and Tainted Flesh Levy blobs.
Never experienced it.

>>Allies, since I don't see many of them around.
Good way of including your second favourite legion. Many rites of war restrict Allies anyway so you sometimes have to play a worse primary detachment to get an ally.

>>Knights Errant
Assuming you mean malcador's chosen then they are pretty expensive for what they do and can end up doing more harm than good but they are an interesting concept and I'm taking one for the fluff anyway.

>>The Extra LoW box that noone ever seems to use.
Never experienced it, no one really want to bring a bunch of superheavies to the table.

>>Primarch power creep.
Annoying, but I'm a dark angel so I'm hoping for my turbo autist Primarch to be super OP.

In the Mechanicum and Legion book there's a boxout before the unit entries start saying other stuff you can bring as Lords of War, mostly the Marauder aircraft, Baneblade variants and such for the Legions, a few lot more variety for the Mechanicum, but I've hardly ever seen it used to bring something interesting in a game. I know there's a WE user who has a Stormlord, but that's it. No wings of Navy bombers or anything.

was the plan, I just tossed a couple extra topics on there because we've talked about the rest in the last few threads. Was interesting a couple of times, done now.

Hey Traitors,
My name is Sigismund, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are fat, retarded, no-lifes who spend every second of their day defying and deifying the Emperor. You are everything bad in the galaxy. Honestly, have any of you ever slain the enemies of Mankind? I mean, I guess it’s fun making fun of imperial citizens because of your own insecurities, but you all take to a whole new level. This is even worse than jerking off to pictures on warpbook.
Don’t be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. I’m pretty much perfect. I have Weapon Skill 7, and 4 Wounds protected by Eternal Warrior. What stats do you have, other than “3s down the line”? I also cause people to reroll successful invulns in a challenge, and have a AP2 Sword (I just slew with her; Shit was SO imperial credits). You are all traitors and non-compliants who should just kill yourselves. Thanks for listening.

Are you just coating it in Agrax, lightly covering it or being tactical?

Aight :^)

NO.

Have fun playing with your bolters you bunch of dandelions. I'll be over here hanging with my bloops.

Legions a shit, Free Mars.

>>not using robots instead of men for the grinder
Are the legion and the penal regiments too busy to perform their literal duty or something?

They are busy serving for the Ironfire.

The Thousand Sons have a cult system where they have 5 different psychic disciplines, each with an associated cult attached to it. Each cult grants a bonus to casting its psychic discipline and a generic bonus for non-psykers. With the Thousands Sons gaining access to new disciplines (Change, Daemonology (Malefic), Geomortis, Sinistrum, Heretech and Ectomancy), what new cults would form and what benefits would those cults grant?

No, as I need help in deciding how to run my Sons of Horace!
I am thinking about running the Black Reaving and cant decide whether to go for my MoS in an Achilles Alpha or use a command squads proteus with explorator array.

Scouting forward and helping everything dropping in while giving a fearless bubble sounds amazing.

Especially since my 2 jump pack toting, 3 melta handling, apothecary accompanied 15 man Reaver squads arrive via outflank. As does the anti tank geared storm eagle with a tac squad and Loken/generic Praetor and another apothecary.

Together with 5 Justaerin with a Multimelta, that is 2500 points.

Does this sound to Melta focused and/or generally bad?

I just want to make Reavers worky as they are cool as fuck.

But they don't have access to any of those disciplines.
You should have posted this here first rather than make a whole thread for it.

We have more bloops than you have legionnaires, they're far superior, can be fixed more easily and are better company. We can also clone our cannon fodder, you can't even equip yours without us.

Preach it, tech-brother. Omnissiah forever, Terra can't do shit.

I mean, they gained access to a bunch of new disciplines in the 40k era.

coating

They didn't form new Prosperine cults, they transitioned to being the Cult Legion of Tzeentch.
They get the Blessing of Tzeentch.
Are you slightly retarded?

They don't have cults in 40k, just bunch of dudes doing their thing, sometimes gathering for bigger projects.

>Omnissiah forever, Terra can't do shit.
Custodes Terran weapons say otherwise.
Hell, even Mars knows this, considering how often they tried to get there mitts on Terran tech during the age of strife.

Santic Daemonology - Nomads, specialists in astral projection and navigating the Great Ocean. Cult Arcana: Reduces Scatter from Deep Strike by 2" or +1 bonus to model/attached unit to enter from Reserve.

Malefic Daemonology - Soulweavers, a post burning of Prospero development. Note that they can never summon models with the Daemon of Khorne rule. Cult Arcana: In close combat reduce Invulnerable saves of enemies by 1, to a minimum of 5++.

Geomancy - Shapers, a specialist cult that sought to terraform Prospero beyond the kine domes of the cities. Cult Arcana: Auto-pass Dangerous Terrain tests.

Technomancy - ???, a minor cult that worked closely with the great minds of the Zhao-Arkkad to develop the Achea-pattern battle-automata. Cult Arcana: FNP 5+, or improve FNP by 1 to a maximum of 3.

Doesn't it take the entire lifetime of a group of techs to make a single one of their speshul bolters? Mechanicum have them WAAAAY beat on volume of manufacture, even just Mars (An irradiated, burnt-out, spoopy ghost infested shithole) vs Terra.(Re-made by the Big E himself)

Congratulations, you can make enough fancy guns to outfit a single division of golden idiots. We make enough to outfit a galaxy, and all the ships that move the Terrans around, and the Titans they use for their abominations. A few clever small-arms really don't cut it. Mechanicum wants the tech, and I suspect there's still a few in Archmagi's private collections, but the Mechanicum is properly huge. They hold a lot of toys that Terra doesn't have an inkling of.

One Vindicator is too few but is 3 too many?

It's a known fact that Terra lacks the manufacturing facilities. That's why only a small elite can benefit from the stuff on Terra.

It's actually funny how Custodes are suppose to have the best shit, yet they got bolters on everything while volkites are being pushed as the superior weapon that's only losing to bolters because they can't make enough of them.

It seems like the best bolters are better than the best volkites but worse but still good bolters are much easier to produce then average volkites.

I can feel this will be a fun thread

It's more the case of fancy ammo vs. a fancy gun.

Any old bolter can pack an assortment of munitions. Hell, you can stick bolts into shotguns if you want (as seen in Necromunda). The gun itself doesn't weigh in that much. Doesn't the fluff for one of the bolt cannons on the vehicles say that there's only one place that makes ammo for them? Meanwhile volkites just need power and it's the gun that does all the fancy shit.

So a volkite just need the initial investment of the gun and then it'll just get charged with regular batteries. Fancy bolters need a constant feed of that fancy ammo or they're shit out of luck.

Building a not so srs bsns AL list (never played a game, just do the models) and so fat I've got plenty of infantry to infiltrate / deep strike.

But I have no armored spearhead and I'm thinking of a Predator trio with heavy conversion beamers.

Also considering 1 or 2 Venators. Opinions?

Show me your praetors/other HQ's and tell their stories. I need inspiration.

*far

Not trying to make a super competitive list or anything I just think conversion beams or lasers feel a bit more fluffy for XX than artillery.

BORK BORK BORK

How about I post a list of what I'm thinking of starting with? Everyone likes lists. Except when they include 30 marines on foot and a leviathan dreadnought, of course.

>Night Lords, 1500 points exactly.

>HQ
Centurion with jump pack, chainglaive, AA, refractor field, fear - 110

>Troops
10 Tactical marines, chainglaive, AA, meltabombs - 150
Rhino - 35

10 Tactical marines, chainglaive, AA, meltabombs - 150

10 Assault marines, 2 power axes, chainglaive, AA, meltabombs (sergeant only) - 220
>Joined by centurion.

>Elites
10 Terror marines, 10 volkite chargers, chainglaive, AA, meltabombs - 275

2 Grav rapiers - 150

>Heavy support
Leviathan dreadnought, storm cannon, claw, 2x heavy flamer - 280

Laser vindicator - 130

>Except when they include 30 marines on foot and a leviathan dreadnought, of course.

>posts a list with 30 dudes on foot and a leviathan

Dat's ze joke.

That's the obvious joke, well done.

>Remember Strayan 30K exists

>They're both upset that the plastic boxes and Inferno are bringing new players to the game
>They both come a ball-hair from suggesting a house rule in their club that bans new people with those armies but back-pedal when they realise that would be insane

Strayans really are cunts I guess

kek

I thought that the whole reason that 30k was popular in strayah is because it's cheaper than plastic.

but there's 31 dude on foot

Hey dioramanon, mind telling me how you did the purple? I honestly think this is the best piece you've made so far- I'm considering starting a hell-vault themed IH army, and this look is perfect for it.

What exactly did you use for the purple/shine?

>even filenamed an IMG
The copypasta jokes were upthread.

I don't have a photo as I haven't made him.
But he's a garrison commander who rebuilt hives as citadels, and he was chosen by the leader of discovery fleet due to his cold nature. As the people of the planet were prone to birthing beastmen, so would require frequent culling

>As the people of the planet were prone to birthing beastmen
THEY WHAT?!

>people of the planet were prone to birthing beastmen

Fenris?

1/4 of all children that human parents give birth to are classified as beastmen
Might mention how pertuabo told him to do research on the EoR which was always a sore in Perty's eye but don't want him to be too much of a Sue
>implying I want the faction who I would remove from the fluff to be involved in my own fluff

Dunno, but I'm now half an hour in and apart from the aside into casual racism, they're still crying like little girls about it. Now they've hit on making all the tournies and campaigns they organise invite only so that new players can't get a toehold in the community. One guy is completely triggered by new people and seems to have been raped by a Knight-heavy list in the past.

Badly timed I guess, but I'm 100% serious. I think the purple is neat, and I wanna go for it.

>tfw out of town so no painting
>tfw you also become the eternal iPad poster

How does it feel to get kicked out you own legion, faggot?

They're like that to everyone.

EoR?
Also, Hive cities are already fortified...I want to hear about the overforting now that I know your dude is an IW

I thought it was common knowledge it is summer in December in the south hemisphere.

>dat Fallout death screen

Absolutely everyone.

The Finnise don't know that.
I figured that's where it's from.
I was going to post that.

I decided to do my transfers during the basecoat phase. I made a stone power mace like Archamus (Dorns head of bodyguard).

Pin your Thaints

>using the inferior IF symbol

And the last 4 I did.

This is sort of how I imagine Curzefag, albeit in pale and with spiky teef.

Blushing marines!

some of those paints look thickish

>implying I want the faction who I would remove from the fluff to be involved in my own fluff

Well, maybe you shouldn't emulate them so much.

What's a summer?

t. Finn

You don't get it, user.
Instead of sheer furfagortry, it's the IW tasked with yet another shitty job:
Garrisoning a world of sheer furfagrotry

>Shouldn't the wolves guard their kin? And why the fuck are we only ten guys for the whole planet...AGAIN!?

The White and yellow? Because I'm thinking of carefully scratching off the White parts and redoing it. I can't believe I fell for the ulthuan grey meme. I might try white gesso.

>That World Eater's left hand
Seriously dude, wrists are not supposed to do that.

Sorry that should be EoT, as in eye of terror, that which pertuabo canonically sees every moment of his existence.
But yeah it's really ww1 star forts, but with cool stuff like promethium soaked trenches designed to be lost and then burn when the enemy is halfway through like modern minefields.
I wish you could play siege games normally where your opponent has twice as many points as you and it's your job to make the best set of fortifications possible

How does the use of "frequent cullings" emulate the Space Wolves? Fenrisians aren't the ones with a mutation problem. These humans are.

Funnily enough the only Strayan I ever knew was a super polite, lanky as fuck, slightly OCD, really helpful dude in aviation financing while doing an internship in a law firm in Singapore.

I guess I have yet to meet a true Bogan.

Speaking of Siggi are there any books, short stories or artwork about when he was with the World Eaters and him and Kharn were BFFs.

the one that gave us information that such a thing happened in the first place?
>hey guys do you know where I could find that story of Jesus and the moneylenders?

Heh

>But yeah it's really ww1 star forts, but with cool stuff like promethium soaked trenches designed to be lost and then burn when the enemy is halfway through like modern minefields.
That Hardens my armour
>I wish you could play siege games normally where your opponent has twice as many points as you and it's your job to make the best set of fortifications possible
There are a few missions in books 3 and 4 that could be useful, and you could use some Planetary Onslaught missions and WT to truly behave like Iron Warriors vs Imperial Fists or similar siegers.
Either that or the Sentinels of Terra's supplement for Fists and the Siege Assault Vanguard for the IWs.
Unification's WT recopilation is also a good set to use. Some of them.
At least the IW's WTs are, his Fists table is as OP as my DG's :^)

It's like reverse cold.
Instead of mucus everywhere, respiratory diseases, shaking and sluggish hands you get sweaty and think you're melting, drink in hours the water you'd drink in a whole day and get gastric tract diseases.

Nothing like tropical coast climate, warm and humid all year round. I miss home

Which legion best represent Australia?

Didn't say anything about the culling.

There's a brief excerpt of them duelling in the short story Templar, but it's literally just the two (and a bit) pages screencapped here. Other than that, I don't know.

Butcher's Nails has Kharn remembering Amit and Sigismund's time at the Gladiator pits, where Siggy learned the habit of chaining his knightly weapons to his gauntlets and was nicknamed The Black Knight.
Yeah, that "totally BT" tradition? A WE thing.
Kharn reflects on having to face those two as enemies now.
