So I have a question about basing for advantage (or not as the case may be).
I'd like my ICs to be on higher bases so they stand out, and I've modeled away and now just noticed that the one I've made is now standing on something that's effectively the height of two bases.
Is that going to annoy people? I didn't do it to gain or lose advantage, I just didn't think about it.

for the sake of argument because it's an enetertaining proposition: bring lots of armor (probably dreads) and spread out so his str 8 template does fuck all. if it's sollex lascannon variants, pity him for shitty choice of models and the amount of points invested for mediocre return.

if anything you have lost advantage by making them harder to stick in cover.

basing for advantage is generally using larger bases than the model was supplied with. There are very, very few cases where that is considered acceptable (and pretty much all of them are warhound titan scale or larger)

well, yeah, original point then, sniper vets should wreck 'em. they're the best way to deal with artillery and MC in general in my opinion. either that or the best tarpit melee unit you can think of then just hold the board while they grind away for the whole game in the most boring non-lethal assault.

honestly, thanatar are not actually a very efficient unit and are more of an intimidating distraction threat than anything else. if they're in the same unit they also suffer the problem that any multi-shot large blast barrage unit has in that the second shot is going to flip off and hit absolutely nothing most of the time. granted, when you only have 1000 points of dudes it only takes a few good shots to kill half your list, so I don't think you can really afford to ignore them in this case.

So I was reading some tactica for the TSons and people were saying that the Osiron Dreads are HQ choices? Where does it say that? Does this mean an Osiron Deadnought Talon would be a HQ choices then?

I thought Osirons were an upgrade to a normal Dread Talon.

Praevian is a tough HQ for handling Signs & Portents unlike the Osiron.

IIRC TS have unique RoW that makes Magnus HQ

The minimum playable with that is 1005 points, so not fitting in a 1k list.

That's after drybrushing, and after adding some chipping and weathering powder the unevenness helps with texture.

Single lightning claws are really good on Terminators that you're sending in to blend normal marines, but if you're going up against 2+ saves or characters they're useless next to power/chainfists.

For D platform, Pyromancy.

I honestly think he's best overall going max biomancy. The buffs make him a monster in combat and while there's no novas, smite is fine power to unleash on some tanks and heavy hitters.

Depending on the ruling of Magnus's special rules and Sanctic perils I believe Sanctic will be the best. Blessings, a nova and D power all in one tree.

this entire book is full of garbage they didn't think through or test for inconsistencies that are pretty obvious to most of us immediately. it's a bit of a letdown. I wonder how many flat-out misprints there are in the talons rules given that they pretty obviously fucked up the weapon stats for secutarii.
