There are already entire guard units that are all female in 40k, you're not even bending the rules, you're literally following what is already established canon.

Would just be useful from a converting/head variety point of view if nothing else.

I hope when they finally update Guard they add some models for women. It doesn't make sense that they tout having both sexes but the models don't represent it.

Women obviously are worse at humping around heavy things and are at a comparative disadvantage against men in hand to hand fighting. Other than that not really, though you may want to do segregated male/female regiments since men have a tendency to expose themselves to excessive risks to try and remove women from danger.

Just add a female guardsman squad set, and have it be the same price as regular guardsmen with no different stats or anything. Just a female version of the regular squad that could be used for conversions.

Personally I'd like to see some Guard models that look more like harrowed veterans/ragged conscripts rather than the perfectly uniform parade soldiers we have currently. Something less professional and more like some warrior-fanatics.

Imperial Guard regiments are just as often hastily thrown together cannon fodder as they are superduper elite Ollanius Pius copies.

I haven't posted that list in a while, my other list with 200 renegades and a baneblade is the one I've been posting but to be honest if the 8th takes out my army I'd rather have the selection of the list posted above than the other.

Yes absolutely, some people play 40k just to win or get really salty when things don't go their way with every roll, the worse is when someone's loosing so they just decide to be a total bitch to make the rest of the game as miserable as possible to get some strange revenge, know a guy who would scream and cuss when he rolled too many ones

I'm pretty new to the game, but I ran into two so far.

The first is a Tau player who accused anyone who beat him of cheating. He brought a stormsurge and riptides to a ~800 point battle.

The other was a chaos player who threw a hissyfit because his Chaos army lost. The rest of the night he spent complaining to his friends about it and how "This is why girls shouldn't come to the store." Which is odd considering the owner is a woman.

Everyone else was super nice, though.

Getting a gauntlet squad is a good purchase, as it's basically a free rhino with a small sprue of dark angels specific bits and weapons, like a power sword and a plasma pistol and some cool heads.
As for actual force composition, don't use an unbound detachment. You want to be working towards a Lion's Blade Strike force, as per sites.google.com/site/wh40000rules/codices/dark-angels/structure, as it's a really good basis for a very shooty army formation.

All the original Guard regiments are basically from movies and/or 2000 A.D. comics. Rambo, Lawrence of Arabia, a mix of Aliens/Rogue Trooper, cliche Soviet WW2 conscripts, etc.
