200% EXOTHERMIC Edition Yeah, you talk big about DCCW, but would you try it at your LGS subedition
Bird Wearer Novel, not to be confused with the lat HH novel which experts predict with be Abnett's. List of crap units, and no, you can't randomly ignore RoW rules. China lovers tend to copypasta and titans are a bitch to deal with. HBs are crap unless you're a merchant princling

The hardened armor is supposed to represent the multi-layer plating developed in response to banestrike rounds, but I see what you mean about the WT and the fires of isstvan rule being a little much. considering he's only ever seen in a support role I think I'll drop the WT and add a ppm cost to the armor (suggestions welcome, currently thinking 1-2ppm) it's supposed to be narrative so I'm not as hyper-focused on perfect balance, unless it's out of whack totally.
This is the type of shit I aspire to be better than.
Ryan Nguyen
It ain't witchcraft if I don't wear the uniform.
Adam Gomez
Recommended Justaerian terminator load outs? Thinking Combi-plas or melta + MM, and lightning claws
Isaac Cook
melta is great if your local meta doesn't run a lot of armored ceramite, or for busting dreadnoughts/doors in zone mortalis games.
Cooper Torres
Somewhat depends, how are they getting to combat?
Jeremiah Gray
Spartan with a terminator apothacary and praetor or chaplain
Isaiah Scott
What holes do you have in the rest of your army? Termies, unless your whole army is termies, should be used for a role-whether it be anti-termy, anti-marine, tough scoring or whatever. Lightning claws are good at shredding marines, but leave you scratching like a space wolf against 2+ and dreads. Powerfists lets everything else swing first, but you have a good weapon against everything. Thats a fucking lot of points, so you want them to hit the most expensive unit your enemy has. Give them plasma and fists, and one or two chainfists to keep armour away.
Mason Evans
Thank you. Figured they would be a cool center-piece murder ball and have terrible luck with DS.
Tyler Davis
If you set them up properly for deepstrike, or find a way to ensure it, they can pretty teriffying
Aaron Powell
And to achieve that I would use nuncio vox on like bikers to ensure the DS would be succesful? Gradually switching from 40k as CSMs so I'm not super experienced at making DS work
Camden Carter
And what a uniform it would be!
Wyatt Rivera
>Just got an email from FW saying the Inferno is in the mail
Glorious
Blake Kelly
Mine is on the way as well. Everyone keep your eyes peeled, when it arrives everyone's going to know.
Julian Wood
Bikers can't take nuncio voxes in 30k if i'm not mistaken, mainly just tactical and vet tactical squads are your most common choice for a nuncio vox
Unfortunately though, teleport deep striking in 30k takes far more commitment, namely since you either have to use Orbital Assault or the Black Reaving RoWs, but you could chuck them in an anvil with combi-plas and powerfists/chainfist and guarantee a turn two charge
Deep striking just comes down to equipping units to dumpster specific targets
I personally like a bit of herohammer so I run a praetor with Combi-plas/paragon blade with a unit of 5 Justaerins in an orbital assault list. It's not WAAC levels or shit, But it's fluffy and with a little luck, you can delete a pretty tough unit with BS5 rapid fire plasma
Samuel Perry
For the SoHs, they can take Mr Overcosted can-be-killed-by-a-power-fist-artificer-sgt Abaddon and deepstrike with a termie unit. Or try and roll Void Walker as a WT
Easton Barnes
And if I don't wear that tabard or a 40k sorcerer skirt it's not witchcraft
Jason Johnson
Or just take Blackshields and deepstrike half your force for free.
Juan Garcia
Also. A fuck ton of China cast from z is arriving tomorrow. Will inbox for the boys.
Lincoln Foster
PotL is better. That Blackshield RoW is too dangerous to be that good.
Gabriel Cooper
For the love of god please buff Abaddon, It really bothers me how overpriced he is... First Captain my ass weapons...
>Void Walker WT That's the one that gives deepstrike to just single unit, would that affect attached characters?
>Black Shields >Outlanders >Rag tag group of astartes has access to more teleportation than the Warmasters own....
>That's the one that gives deepstrike to just single unit, would that affect attached characters? Sure, let it be so. Pollux has a similar trait, and we read how he teleported alongside his squad.
Ian Torres
How was that book? (Crimson Fist)
Luis Murphy
So good.
t. Imperial Fist player
Jeremiah Howard
So since Magnus has guaranteed that I will lose friends, is there another LOW choice that's good and does something Magnus never could?
Matthew Reed
Just ordered 3 knights off of him. I'm hype.
Ryder Phillips
A fellblade is a great centrepiece for a mechanised army, a knight atrapos is good a killing other superheavies, and a warhound is a different way to get D into your army. But really magnus is the first primarch to be worth his points
Matthew Ramirez
>magnus is the first primarch to be worth his points
I played a game with Proxy Thousand Sons last week, Magnus made twice his points back on the turn he deep struck.
Levi Brown
>You gotta be invincible-cuz-invisible or spit D-mindbullets that are always within LOS and Ignore Cover, while having resistance to D-weapons himself, with a S9 AP1 Force weapon and a S8 AP2 Assault D3 Soulblaze gun to be worth your points You and your kin make me mad. Mad about FW cheese.
Kevin Price
>But really magnus is the first primarch to be worth his points
Michael Garcia
Fw has always produced big strong models though!
Lincoln Young
Tell story pls. I need to hear Magnus hilarity before it becomes common enough that we all know what he can do.
Jeremiah Martinez
compare, for example, horus. He can eat anything in melee, but usually he'll catch one tactical squad the opponent throws as a roadblock. He needs some method of transport and protection with an escort, a vehicle or both. A good opponent will ignore your 800+ point deathstar, while his army slaughters yours. Compare that to magnus, who is perfectly functional by himself, needs no transport or escort, and rightfully should cost 750 points or so but FW wants horus to stay the most expensive. Worth his points is an understatement, he's a lot better than his points, but compare that to all his brothers who are never going to make their points back through combat unless its through mutual deathstar annihilation, and any army buffs only start making their worth known at 3k+ games. That doesnt mean that i support FW's bullshit, but most primarchs you take because they're cool, not because they're optimal. Magnus is at least as good as a warhound for 66% of the cost.
Wyatt Bennett
Objectively though, any melee beatstick is only situationally good. Shooting lasers IS good.
Also, it was dead obvious the Magnus wouldn't be a slouch in combat because no Primarch is. Even Lorgar is solid in combat.
A shooty Primarch would have to be both beat stick and laser of doom. Otherwise sigismund would push their shit in.
Asher Miller
At 3k+ Magnus is going to eat the D like anything else though. Or a Talon of Leviathan Dreanoughts will ruin his day.
Or your 100 Levis will slowly chop him away.
Or your death star manages to lock him in combat.
Jonathan Lewis
What about Dorn and Alpharius?
Eli Hill
Death Guard and World Eaters players, How does it feel to know that Ahriman has shat on Typhus and Kharn for 10,000 years?
Can Corn and Nurgle even compete?
Parker Gutierrez
Awwww yeussss. I have around 2.5k in Astartes coming in the mail. I also have around 2k admech laying around unassembled haha.
Christopher Gutierrez
They are pretty average, think of the Primarchs as glorified figure heads that mulch any other non Primarch beat stick.
That was pretty much what they did during the crusade, showed up to 1v1 whatever poor leader mook that defied the crusade.
Benjamin Reyes
Falls on the army support primarch. They personally don't earn anything back, just look scary (invisible models wooooo) and let your army do shenannigans.
Jose Rogers
Yeah!
In a 5000pt game, Perturabo would be the tits because free deepstrike for all his Terminator boys.
Mason James
I think Alpharius is worth it below 3k. Army wide Preferred Enemy is pretty damn nice, he also doesn't really need an expensive bodyguard, he's probably happiest just charging a blob and hiding in combat all game.
Jackson Anderson
>They personally don't earn anything back Pretty sure they'd mulch anything without a primarch in it though, or let the deathstars duel it out on even footing while they distracted stronger primarchs?
Also wtf but I didn't think Dorn was a manlet or >tfw to intelligent for combat practice
Grayson Kelly
Barring Knight Melee, i dont see much D, magnus can D a Knight or a trio of leviathans, or anything footslogging from half the board away while they footslog at him. And even without going full biomancer he's no slouch, unless you have ten termies with a buffing HQ or a CC primarch beating on him he's not going down Alphy's decent in bigger games because appearing from nowhere and armywide PE, but he's no doom laser like magnus
Jack Kelly
>He needs some method of transport and protection with an escort Well of course, they may be Primarchs, but they're still Infantry models you know. Not everyone is Corax of Curze. Or Mortarion, quite unexpectedly. Or Sanguinius, you can bet your ass he'll at the very least move like a Flying Monstrous Creature, like that Tau Starsuit Commander. But you're right about Magnus needing to be way WAAAAAY more expensive and some Primarchs being a bit too expensive for what they do, mainly because their pricing and rules were made through a direct comparison with Horus...and then came Magnus. >That doesnt mean that i support FW's bullshit, but most primarchs you take because they're cool, not because they're optimal. Magnus is at least as good as a warhound for 66% of the cost. Good to hear. It really looked as if you supported Magnus' cost.
Xavier Rivera
Well, the game was cut short when one player had to leave but,
I was playing 2000 points in a 2v2 4000 point killpoint mission. I had Curze on the board trying (and failing) to spook the stubborn Thousand Sons terminators on one side of the board. my ally was Mechanicum with a bunch of big boops on the other side of the board with two drop pods, their terror squads, my Sicaran Venator, and the melted remains of a blood angels army.
Turn 2 rolls around and Magnus (without re-rolling reserves) deep strikes onto the board with all the big boops and drop pods and unleashes Pyromancy's nova power at Strength D and decimates more than half the big boops and every vehicle with no saves of any kind allowed. Surprisingly, because the power was AP 5 and only 6's ignored all saves, my terror squads only lost 2-3 guys each. One of the terror squads ran, the other shoot at(read:failed) and tried to assault Magnus's terminator bubble just to die horribly to primarch stats. I think they took out 3 Sekmet with them. The Mechanicum player was so done with Magnus he walks his bots to the other side of the board where Curze had just died to six 1's in a row before the game ends because of the aforementioned early leaver.
Joseph Price
It wasn't in support of Magnus's cost, it was bemoaning the pricing of every other primarch. >corax or curze or morty I play Admech and Night Lords, and usually bring a basic Terror Assault featuring Batman, termies and a Leviathan. Even then, i have trouble making my points back when i bring Batman, since while he's a primarch any 2w termies or particularly choppy legion units can do damage, i got dropped to 1w by a WE tac squad with an apothecary that rolled sixes for a charge
Juan Perez
>i got dropped to 1w by a WE tac squad with an apothecary that rolled sixes for a charge
To be fair, that kind of squad takes on Horus and his bodyguard.
Nolan Bell
The Primarchs I mentioned are the ones that CAN survive without a transport, not that they can defeat entire armies on their own like Mr. FOOKIN NUKE here I like Curze's spooping-on-line-of-sight rule, but you shouldn't expect it to work on bots and stubborn people.
Aaron Sanders
Would you operate operationally on operations with these Alphas? Assuming the Tac found a bolter.
Zachary Mitchell
What's in his hand user? Why's it censored?
Lincoln Mitchell
I assumed i was out of charge range, and slaanesh interfered with that roll. But yeah, my mistake nearly lost my primarch turn 2. Corax is good by himself due to shitting on artillery/blasts/shooting generally, and Morty is mega-tough to go with his mobility, but Konrad is definitely not durable enough to do his thing by himself.
What would be an acceptable re-costing of your primarch, /hhg/?
Aaron Smith
No weapon, no witnesses, no proof.
Kayden Long
>I got my bolter right here >*unzips dick*
Thomas Wilson
For Imperial Fist players.
I know Dorn isn't a beatstick Primarch, and is supposed to be good for buffs.
His buffs seem kind of underwhelming too, have any of you had any success stories using him?
Elijah Butler
I will say even though my game went south solely because of Magnus it would have gone much different had he not rolled Strength D on 2d6, and I would've denied the witch if Curze was in range because of Adimantium will. Hell, if I dropped Sevatar first, I would've denied the witch because Sevatar hates Psykers so much he denies just as though he were one of them.
Lucas Hughes
I'd love to see Sevatar push Ahriman's shit in.
Underrated First Captain.
Jose Bailey
>Dorn isn't a beatstick.
Justin Hill
I like his rape face. I wish he had either AP2 or a 2+ save. Even if he is a crimson gauntlet.
Parker Cook
I would be excited to see a First Captain gauntlet at my LGS.
Mostly cause noone there owns Sigismund yet.
Jace Bennett
>crusader, furious charge and +d3 combat res This makes you slower emperors children, and will make you damn good at sweeping, which is good since you have teleporting termies and the ultimate meq blender in the Templars. Plus Dorn is a solid primarch in combat, with ability for decent strength, instant death and piles of attacks >morale bonuses Generic primarch stuff, but useful nonetheless. Fear is a thing in 30k and theres lots of primarchs, robots and spooky bats, shooting checks are a thing, its just a decent, uncomplicated buff >beatstick He's a fucking primarch ya dunce, he murders everything that isnt a primarch deathstar and has huuuuuge bonuses to sweeping so he's capable of chasing shit down.
Blake Brown
Kek. Saved.
Isaac Williams
no comments on the new revision?
also up for discussion: Best weapons loadout and squad size for breachers in zone mortalis?

>chinaman has shipped
heavybreathing.jpg
Jose Cooper
Who is this chinaman? I wish to order some 30k minis but everyone refers to this dude as chinaman. Also, does this guy have custodes by themselves? Jesus I just want to buy some custodes but fuck buying a tank with them, or buying a box set.
Isaac Brooks
for custodes just use Ebay. they're all from the burning of prospero plastic and can be had for ~28 US per 5.
Jose Williams
oh shit.... nice
Julian Peterson
There's actually a number of chinamen. You can find their contact info pretty easy, but bear in mind we don't give it out for free (as it increases the likelihood of them getting shut down AND increases the wait time/workload for the casters).
As for custodes, ya just go on ebay. Cheap AND plastic.
Liam Brooks
Is there an Inferno pdf yet? I like to read the fluff.
Aaron Smith
SHUT UP
Samuel Wright
I should have guessed some sort of secret club. No matter though. I'm not in any hurry to collect the minis.
Christian James
were night lords actually the good guys, or is ADB a cuck?
John Cruz
If you don't keep asking, I'll scan the book when I get it.
Leo Campbell
What movie score best represents each Legion?
I play Ultramarines...and the Gladiator score is perfect for them.
Jack Stewart
They had some justification, but the only way you could class them as good rather than flatly evil was if they were pre-konrad terrans who were just doing their job in the most efficient manner, i.e. soldiering as a psychiatrist instead of as a serial killer
Adam Ortiz
Chinaman is an odd ball.
Aaron Butler
Jesus Christ, mate. I haven't even been here in like 2 weeks.
Leo Hall
Konrad Curze and his followers wanted to bring order through terror like he did on Nostomo.
The Night Haunter and his followers wanted to cause terror for the sake of terror.
After the Emperor told him to come home to be grounded he had PTSD about his visions of the Emperor killing him and fled to be traitor. Most of his legion were found at fault for doing what they were told to do so they went with him.
ABD's night lords and Zho Sahaal seemed to agree with Curze's teachings and used fear as a tool to create order but were still hurt by the "Emperor's" assassination.
Krieg Arcerbus on the other hand went full blown daemon prince, preaches the Night Haunter's dogma and helps Abaddon most of the time.
Christopher Smith
Have faith user...Scanaon has never failed us, he in his Imperial Palace of forbidden scanning technologies.
Aaron Russell
> This is why the West is fucked.
Austin Bennett
This makes me sad. Imma poor as shit college kid. I just wanna buy some Custodes by themselves and some Crusade Era marines. The marines being secondary to my wish list.
Jaxon Cooper
buy a single burning of prospero box then, 30 mk IIIs, 5 tartaros, 5 custodes and 5 sisters of silence. can get it for 110 US if you look around.
Cameron Miller
Maybe I will then. Gotta check my LGS(Something tells me they won't have it for cheaper. I hate being poor.
Jace Reyes
Abaddon is 2nd worst First Captain...only Kor Pharon is worse.
Ryder Peterson
Warhammer is not a hobby for those with money problems
Justin Scott
if you don't want the whole box, see if anyone else there wants parts of it. When I was doing my RG I got in on a box where the guy didn't want the tarminators, and I'm going to be splitting another box 4 ways this weekend.
calth and prospero make things much more affordable especially when you can split them locally.
inb4 'muh plastics' autism. It means I can spend more cash on upgrade kits to the plastics like shoulderpads and heavy weaps, or vehicles
Gabriel Long
It's actually not that bad. I know poor people that are racers/tuners/gearheads and that's way worse on the wallet (though you do get a car out of it).
Things are cheap on ebay. BoP and BaC are a thing. China is a thing. Cheap Start Collecting and Armored Assault boxes (tougher to use in 30k unless you do a Siege of Terra legion). Etc.
Jose Parker
This is a hobby for rich people Or rather, people that would be rich but keep blowing their money on plastic/resin crack-o-drill tiny soldiers that can give you cancer if you do it wrong. Not for the faint of either heart or wallet.
Jonathan Sullivan
How would you break out of this situation?
Jason Ward
user, you ask this thing each week. Not even Ferrus knew how to get out of that one, not even Perturabo would know how to get inside this one.
Chase Hughes
When user says hes poor, I'm imagining he has a part time job at a burger joint that he only walks away with $80 a month after bills and monthly budget. Can you build and paint a whole Legion off $80 a month? Certainly! That doesn't mean he should.
Lincoln Martinez
Pray to the Emperor for good dice rolls.
Austin Morris
by calling a massive orbital strike on the captains position, eliminating the traitors and giving the immortals a glorious death thats essentially what immortals are there for anyways
Joseph Cook
I know this all too well. I started playing 40k in High School. 3e and 4e were a thing. The start up cost was very very rough. Though, I liked the aesthetic of the standard CSM squad so I bought a shitton of them.
I just picked one off of eBay. hopefully he delivers. I would buy both boxes if I could afford it.
Dude, I know it. I pitched most of minis because of a flood I had last year. (Don't ask, it fucking sucked) I didn't weep but I wanted to. Also, I have many firearms that I wish to purchase as well. Having hobbies is true suffering.
Elijah Nelson
Ohh, you think spins are you ally? But you merely adopted the spin. I was born in it. Moulded by it. I didn't stop spinning until I was already a marine, and by then it was nothing but steadyness.
