Weapon and armor maintenance and cleaning. Preparing a hearty meal for the party based on what the hunter has trapped and foraged. A little bit of lute and singing in the firelight and then take my turn on watch or bed down.

he relaxes by attempting to sell worthless garbage and sand as 'consecrated holy items' to the gullible
hawked a bag of sand to a man in the middle of the desert for 3 gold

Repost for new thread!
Second Avowed writer here. While we're currently discussing our options on what to do with Overcharge Modulation, Self Pact's preliminary nerfs (we WILL be playtesting this more) are a change to make the damage dealt by the bonus attacks entirely static (though scaling with level). They'll trigger non-damaging effects, but neither benefit from bonus damage or additional damage sources (so they can't trigger Sneak Attack, for example.) This should make it easier to tune, while still having some interesting optimization benefits.
Further, like with a lot of OTHER attunements, we'll be making theirs scale with their level, though not quite as harshly. Their charisma bonus to armor class will be capped at 3+class level, meaning they'll grant a similar bonus as someone in light armor should it be a one-level dip, while rapidly providing their full benefit to someone who decides to take more levels.
While we're presently still working on it, Aether Channel's second-rank selection is being removed and replaced with a different effect. Their DPR with full base attack bonus was simply too strong, and we'll be reworking the ability.

In other news, we'll soon be bringing two new shapes to the Avowed 2 playtest - the all-new Aether Circus, which fires extremely long range missiles that track their target over several rounds, and Aether Beast, for those who would prefer to stand back and have their loyal minion do all the work. Thank you for your support and feedback!

Sorry to say that is indeed what will be going. Its damage was just way too far ahead of the touch attack shapes, in part because our original math hadn't accounted for weapon special abilities.

Aether Barrage doesn't seem to be a problem at the moment. We're pretty happy with where it is right now, though it's possible we're missing something. How does it feel in your games?

What do you think of the 2hu Aether Barrage builds?

Yo avowed writer, I'm not some hardcore math grinder, but
>Aether Channel's second-rank selection is being removed and replaced with a different effect.
Fucking. Why. The biggest glaring problem with Aether channel is that it added full Aether Pulse damage (that could be overcharged) on top of the weapon damage, the full BaB was just an actually cool bonus effect that made it feel kinda cool and unique. It never looked like it should have been something that did most of your damage for you, it looked like it should have been a build enabler shape.

The most obvious problem was how it applied full Aether Pulse Damage, not the Full BaB part.

I'm tired of hearing about avowed here. It feels like all that anybody talks about.

Here's a question: If you could grow up and live in any one city on Golarion, which would you choose?

Not a city, but Hwanggot!

Hwanggot is objectively, canonically the most peaceful land in all of Golarion. Pic related.

>However, as the aged queen slowly recedes into the background, there is some concern that the transition following her inevitable death may not be as smooth as might be hoped, for Princess Geon-ji seems strangely restless and aggressive for a member of that proud family line. Rather than adopt the traditional role of diplomacy against Hwanggot’s greatest current enemy, Bachuan, the princess instead ordered the erection of a network of mammoth stone fortresses along the Shuidao River—the border the two countries share. Government agents work night and day to explain and disprove rumors that Hwans have been captured by Bachuan agents who have infiltrated Hwanggot, and that the captives have been tortured or even transformed into undead assassins to be sent back into the Kingdom of Flowers to spread misery.
>yfw she's secretly a bloodthirsty kumiho

>mfw the GM didn't show up to last night's game again

Overcharge Modulation is the biggest problem at the moment, and we are working on it. The extra attacks granted by various shapes are because we actually balanced with Haste as an assumption - given they don't stack with that, we're not super worried.

That said, Forrest is the one with the spreadsheets and we WILL be taking a closer look.

The problem was that it was dealing too much damage. Altering the damage progression, like the Kineticist does with a similar effect, results in odd breakpoints. The full base attack bonus also just proved to be harder to balance around because of the effect additional iteratives and BAB had on DPR. Ultimately our intention with the shapes is to have them be the primary source of an Avowed's damage, not just a small rider effect.

FUCKING HELL AM I GLAD THAT PAIZO IS SHUTTING DOWN IN SPRING

FUCK SHITSEEKER AND FUCK YOU ANIME PEDOPHILES

2Hu is an idiot who can't into PF.

Drinking, archery practice, equipment upkeep, cuddling, fucking, and drinking.

Ooh! Ooh! Can we afford to live there? If so, either Kerse or Macridi considering how comfy they are!

That said, I'd have to adhere to the Prophecies to truly be one of them, and those are strict! I might have to settle for living with the other user in Hwanggot, we might even be neighbors!

>Cuddling followed by fucking

But why?

And on the SoP front, Dark is going to be the next book published (hopefully this month). Current playtests are:

Shutting down? Source?

His ass.

Not that user, but after a long days of adventuring, some might just want to lie down and relax. Fucking can get exhausting and sometimes you might just be too tired.

And/or the list was in no particular order.

Don't hide it from me, /pfg/.

Tell me about the custom equipment you've obtained for your familiar/animal companion/eidolon.

Google it.

We gave our ranger's pet badger two furious daggers.

What made the daggers furious? Did someone assume their gender?

>entire vast array of shapes that exist to use aether pulse damage as the primary damage source
>shape all about using real weapons good does too much damage because it adds aether pulse damage to the good actual weapons can do
>but lowering the aether pulse damage is bad
>instead we're making it so it doesn't use weapons as good

It's Forrestfire's class, and you're free to design it as you will since you've all likely done far more things to check it over, but this shit still looks dumb as fuck to me. I guess I'll just have to give it time for myself to stop being such a salty little bitch and possibly hope there's an archetype down the road that has the things I want from Avowed.
Self Pact changes look pretty alright, at least, so good on ya'll there.

When the mage was enhancing them to be +2 weapons, the daggers got triggered because we assumed that there's only +2 enhancements. Through this freak accident of completely inanimate objects gaining sentience the daggers became +1 furious daggers which we strapped to the badger and taught it to use them instead of it's claws that a bandit decided to pull out with pliers as a petty revenge.

I gave my character's son a fully articulated action figure of my character!

...

The heights attained by the 2hu builds are pretty much maxed out affairs (in one case you even turn into a fly for the accuracy you know?) with +10 dex by level 9. Since that 200-odd is all even those can pull off, It's pretty safe.

Rather the problem with barrage is that it was only attaining those with the heavy static bonuses getting snuck in from everywhere and then multiplied before being multiplied again in a barrage.

In other words, on its own, by default, without overcharge modulation and with *regular* static bonuses (just CHA and FCB), it... wasn't holding its own.

Say you've got +6 CHA by then, and +3 from the FCB: that's 5d8+9 times three hits. You're just able to take out a CR-2 on average...

Now the weapon-based shapes DO have additional costs (in weapon and accuracy) so it's natural they ought to hit harder; that much is not an issue. But this means that shapes such as barrage or chain (turn that wrath cylinder 90 degrees towards enemies and we can talk about naming something wave!) are technically lacking in the *ABILITY* to grow.

Simply put; Barrage without Overcharge is just a bit short; what it needs is a crystalline-focus equivalent. It's basically in a similar position to Kineticists in that the "it's not costing you WBL" was originally screwing them up the tailpipe by virtue of leaving them without any upgrades. If a level 9 can't attain at least 115 DPR even after heavily optimizing everything right down to race, the shape is dead.

Likewise with AoEs; you gotta at least be able to deal with half your CR (and we never run into half; more like a large pack of -3s by 10th)

Go on then. Show us proof.
There'd be far more cheering than you seem to believe.

Which game user?

Google says here's your (you)

2hu also deliberately misinterprets rules and purposefully uses illicit workarounds under the assumption 'total GM permissiveness' regardless of whether they're actually allowed in game or not.

That just makes me wonder what the laziest sex position is.

Your feedback has been taken on board, and we will discuss options to enable your style of play. Our aim with Avowed is to make as many people happy as possible. Can I ask what you enjoyed about the BAB boost the most?

you can almost hear the child's eyes rolling backwards

Okay, so I have a question.

I'm new to PF, my GM is starting a game, Core Only. I'm making a "general good stuff" Wizard. Which school of magic do I choose to specialize in? Which two do I drop? And why? Please and thank you.

My IRL one. The worst part is he's been ignoring all our phone calls. Like honestly I wouldn't be upset or angry if he just picked up the phone and said "Yeah, I don't want to spend any more Thursday nights hanging out with a bunch of doods in a basement." But this cold shoulder treatment is the worst.

Kumiho?

Depends on who's being lazy.

The chick? The lie flat on her back like a comatose lobotomy patient position.

The dude? Cowgirl/Reverse cowgirl.

Both? Fuck uh... Phone sex?

So tell us more about the missiles. And obviously how you intend to have it interact with other shapes through those combiner feats, because MDE WARHEADS AND HOMING LASERS.

Speaking of, those combiners are one of the ways to help scale the damage at a more reasonable pace, since such things just can't be done at 0 "build" cost.

Universal
Fuck specialisation.

are you sure he's okay?

The spider

Lie flat on her belly, actually. At that point she doesn't even have to spread her legs. It's usually the way to roll your wife over when she doesn't want you to wake her up because of work.

The laziest for both combined is probably spooning. You can get by with very minimalistic motions for the most part.

Okay, that's nice. Could you elaborate , please? Is there some terrible downside to specializing?

Conjuration is the best. If you summon a lot, you need to do prep work so that you're ready to fight with them at the table. Other conjuration spells are great, too.

Enchantment, evocation, and necromancy are common opposition schools.

Not same user but it's more what universalist gets you. The level 8 ability is free metamagic. That's huge, especially since it grows at 1 free spell level per 2 levels in that way and doesn't increase casting or preparation times; you do it on the fly as needed.

Meanwhile a specialist has to choose two schools that they suck at: those cost you double slots. AND you're worse at crafting.

For a first-timer universalist is fucking good. Later on, of course, transmuters, conjurers and the like can get very great mileage - usually evocation'll be one of the oppositions especially for a conjurer since like 1/3 of the best evocation spells ... are actually fucking conjuration spells instead.

I'm being kind of a selfish, whiny cunt about it, but it was a combination of things.

>The sheer novelty of being full BaB, with all the usual benefits it entailed (faster access to certain feats, better power attack, better accuracy in general)
>easy-to-use shape for autistic dumb fucks like me who want to be able to just "hit dude good" when combat comes around without worrying about gimmicks
>Avenger Vigilante is my favorite Vigilante Specialization and I got excited that there might be something similar in Avowed
>I get to pretend to be a Real Martial(tm) but still get to have a bit of magic so I'm not trapped in the hell of being totally mundane
>did I mention I am a basic bitch who tends to gravitate towards very simple things

Divination. Acting first in combat is a wizard's bread and butter.

Opposition schools: Evocation and necromancy aren't that useful on the long run.

Specialize in Conjuration, but take the Divination School.

That sounds really lazy, though spooning fits snugly into cuddling!

Thanks for the help guys. D&D/Pf is new to me, and I don't really know much outsides of memes, so it's appreciated.

Actually, no. I don't even know where he lives. I know it takes him a little over half an hour to drive to my buddy's house where we have the games, but beyond that I couldn't tell you if he lived north or south of me.

I gotta get to the bottom of this. I assumed he just lost interest cause of the drive time but if something else happened, I'm gonna feel like such a bitch.

Conjuration and Divination are going to be the typically best choices, however, if you're just going for 'general good stuff' then there's nothing wrong with Universalist; it doesn't gain much in the way of many boons that other schools have, but the lack of any penalty to any spell is nice to have.

There's probably something in Pathfinder that can make it even lazier, some sorta object transference ring that doesn't even require you to be pressed up against some sweaty, stuffy person.

If you're looking to make a generic 'good guy' mage, Conjuration & Transmutation are good choices for specialization; lots of good spells in both; Conjuration's not quite as god tier as it was in 3e, but it's still very good.

As far as opposed schools, you can safely ditch one of either Enchantment or Illusion; they both largely target Will saves, so you don't really need both. Necromancy's another easy drop - it's all undead shit and evil shit, and while a lot of it's good, none of it is critical.

Might be a good idea - you know if anyone in your group can go and check on him?

Cuddling is far more comfy and you can do it when you're tired or injured. Plus she also has abandonment issues which result in cuddling being far more soothing.

Ring Gates FTW!

Is this the lonely Tiefling girl?

Nope. This is a 3'2" ball of anger.

Lockon system: Every round the missiles roll to attack BEFORE moving: If successful they beeline towards their target, on a miss they keep going straight. When they intersect the square of the target is when they blow, when they lose lock or run out of fuel, they're out. Not taking at least a 5' step when being chased could lead to being hit despite a rolled miss, but you can also outrun them with shit like dimension door easily.

>Aether Circus + Barrage
>Panzer Dragoon: The homing lasers gain the RTA quality of barrage if the missiles weren't already (otherwise give'em CHA to hit and make'em ignore miss chances from concealment, etc)

>Aether Circus + Lance
>Bomb-Pumped XASERs: proximity detonation during terminal guidance fires off a lance at 10ft. The missile is very much charging the target when it blows. Of particular value against the next one:

>Aether Circus + Retaliation
>Aegis System. Your Retaliation now gets an additional trigger condition: you get to AoO missiles that get adjacent! CWIS that shit!

>Aether Circus + Aether Well
>Micro-Dimension-Eater warheads. Go on. Be a Messiah. But Gerwalk will do a number on your back

>Aether Circus + Rampage or Blade
>Melee Fin Funnels, Go!

>Aether Circus + Wrath
>We motherfucking EVA cross explosions now

>Aether Circus + Swarm
>Starting on the second turn they split into even more micromissiles. These can be re-targeted. Itano Descends upon us.

like this, user?

Who just happens to sleep with a tiefling girl?

Halflings shouldn't get involved in binge drinking or banging the big folk! She'll get a reputation among her kin!

What slur would you use for a Halfling that regularly sleeps with humans, anyway? Something related to the size difference feels important.

This sort of thing doesn't actually sound any fun for a tabletop game.

>tfw you'll never cuddle with a cute tiefling girl and rub the top of her head to make her feel safe

For me it was the bit between the eyes, where the nose connects.

Nothing yet but I'm wanting to enlarge my roc companion to be fucking huge, then bard it up and place that war elephant platform thing on its back then ride it around as a cool mobile home of a giant screaming eagle.
Alternatively, I'd like to set it up with barding full of loops and belts or whatever allows me to attach a gorillion roar cords so any time it flies or dives it fills the land for miles in horrible screaming sound.

Different people have greatly varying definitions of fun. Remember that anything more lively than gregorian chant was the devil itself to some folks long ago.

It's badly worded but this suggestion could be quite usable. A lot of systems have shit like homing missiles, and they're often rather badly done.

In the worst cases, they're just a normal to-hit roll + time-to-target, which means you KNOW which one's the nat-20 that you need to shoot down first, and which ones will never hit you, right when the trigger was pressed down.

Fragged Empire sorta has something similar: Initial missile launch has an attack roll: either they're shot dumbfire and resolved immediately (but that can be like a -8 to hit) or they're fired with guidance, in which case a successful attack roll... uh... puts a token (like summons) on the map. The missile will now move normally like yet another ship, until it reaches the target's space (if ever), at which point, uh... it rolls to hit again. And no, that original roll wasn't to obtain a lock; that was a different action you did probably the turn before.

Here, maybe too many rolls but the moving thing is no different from flaming spheres or disposable summons except without a derth of actions and options it can take.

Needs a bit of work but can definitely be worked from.

So! Who all's excited for the weekend? Any big plans, game-related or otherwise?

Rise of the Jade Regent! Saturday!

It's a flaming sphere you have to roll an attack for every turn just to determine what direction it moves in, that can be spammed indefinitely (and should, because otherwise you're sitting on your ass waiting for one missile at a time to hit or miss).

Why the fuck would you inflict that on your group? Why the fuck would you inflict that on your GM?

>Mfw players stop showing up to games and some don't even bother giving excuses anymore

Like with two fingers? Or the nose? .... Lips?
I mean, what are you using to rub that space? Or is that your "safe space?"

I don't really like the 3+class level cap to AC, it feels like too much of a hard ceiling.
Sure, one that won't matter much under standard wealth/stat progression, but the idea of knowing it's there is a looming overhead feeling.

Would it be possible to simply give full CHA to AC after class level 4?

... A finger? It's a comfort zone.

I'm running my friends through a 1 shot in another system to get both their and my feet wet. Nothing pathfinder related, though judgement on WotR should be rendered soon and that's pretty hyp.

>Aether Beast

Damn, that sounds cool.

Is there an ETA on when that will come out?
Will it be an option before my Avowed|Vigilante-gestalt-only game runs in a bit over a week?

How the fuck is that worse than any summoner ever?

I'd say take out the "roll every turn" though that's definitely too much. But putting moving tokens on the map? At least they're just position indicators and not motherfucking AoO Flanking machines with statblocks of their own.

Finishing up the Runeforge in the session tomorrow. We ended when the statue in the crypt decided to start raising hell after we infuriated the GM by endlessly countering the lich's spells while taking potshots at him when he is taking a negative bath.

Oh. I wouldn't know.

My previous GM and group fucking deserve it. Put one of those on the map per die of the aether pulse I say.

Are you saying that the 'dump twenty minions on the board' summoner ISN'T a problem?

Moving tokens wouldn't be a problem. Rolling every turn just to see what direction your missile moves in, for every single missile you put out, is a problem.

Best barbarian rage powers? Level 5 btw.

I am preparing for the feast of salt that is the closing of WotR's applications. Six anons will be very happy no doubt, but thirty six of them will not.

Well now you do!

...

And knowing is half the battle. Apparently, the other half is 25% blue lasers and 25% red lasers.

I'm in agreement with you on that one. But I do think the moving tokens is a good one.

It would probably be just 2-4 like barrage does, and they probably don't last more than a few rounds, so it probably only makes it to 20 if the enemies are like 2000ft away and your first missiles have yet to reach?

I am very much not user here

GI JOOOOEEEE

Whatever one gives lunge. Or is it pounce? Whatever it is that let's you charge into a full attack.

A very warm and comfy tiefling girl.

>not posting the full image
Also pretty sure that's a regular human. A human covered in blood and viscera, but a regular human none the less.

But why do you want to know how to make me calm and happy?

Because...

(You)'re my type.

user do you know how hard it is to find good images of halfling warrior-types?

Probably Bowlegs, considering most Halflings won't exactly be walking right immediately after being with a good-sized human man?

Slip 'n' Slider?

So I'm kinda new and need to make sure I'm not missing something. Regular gauntlet attacks count as unarmed, does this mean a monk can simply wear one and then use it for his weapon magic enhancement, assuming he attacks with his fists? It doesn't seem quite right but it's literally in the same category as Unarmed.

A-user... Seeing that little red ! and knowing it's you makes me all giddy inside.
