Pathfinder General /pfg/

Have you ever played some tribal/from-the-wilderness character? What kind of cute/cool things did they do to show their ruralness or savagery? Pic related?

> We're totally not furries, guys.

>catgirls are furry

So I'm trying to make a character that mimics the mesmer from Guild Wars 1.

wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mesmer for those unfamiliar.

I'm thinking either Sorcerer with an illusion/enchantment focus, more spells/spells per day, bloodline, or Mesmerist for a more obvious mesmer-y feel, far more skill points, hopefully less squishy.

Can I get some advice on which way to go with this?

I played a Barbarian half-orc last year. He was from the far north and wasn't terribly picky about what he ate. Really, he'd anything out of trash cans, he'd eat bugs, just whatever he found. A few times the Paladin had stop him from eating the enemies we'd just got done killing.

Not terribly original, but it was fairly amusing.

Port the 13th Age occultist, it even deals psychic damage.

Science confirms - catgirls not furry.

I applied to WotR as one.

Would you play in a campaign where you help unravel what occurred during Cayden Cailean deific level bender?

I'm laying out a lot of ideas for the Razmir game and had a thought.

We have no idea who Razmir was before he put on the mask and appeared a hundred years ago. We know he is seeking immortality and has been keeping himself alive via Sun Orchid Elixir. He claims to have passed the test of the starstone.

What is Razmir is a great deal older than most people thing. What if he was somehow involved in Cayden Cailean's deific bender. Perhaps he has more than just a claim for the starstone debacle.

Razmir and Cayden are actually pretty good foils for each other.

Just some thoughts I am throwing around.

Anyone got the Heroes of the High Court leaks?

Issue is Cayden became a deity 2000 years ago. That's quite a lot of time for Razmir to be doing nothing.

That's a really cute fox.

She is.

It's extremely unlikely that Razmir was alive for that much earlier than his first appearance in history. We know he's not immortal because of the Elixir, but it's also extremely unlikely he'd started taking it before he'd consolidated his rule because his process for it involves a large amount of effort on his nation's end.

Razmir gets some love in here but ultimately he's really he's a pretty small scale character even compared to a lot of AP villains.

If I took that mask off, would Razmir's cult die?

>tfw DSP still hasn't made the Baneposting discipline that /pfg/ commissioned for $75 back in December 2015

>still no PoW1 errata for that matter either

Is DSP kill?

The cult doesn't work because people believe in Razmir, it works because people are willing to pretend to. All his high priests fake divine magic with tools and his citizenship is kept in line by a totalitarian government and promises that they could be a part of it if they behave.

DSP has been kill for months.

On that note.

GET YOUR LAST MINUTE WOTR APPS IN. FIX THEM UP IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM. I WANNA SEE THIS THING EXPLODE. FUCK THE DM WANTING A QUIET GAME.

Assuming that this thread actually sticks around, I suppose I'll make my advertising post for the day here and hope I get more applicants.

If you're willing to be in a campaign where you play as a group of young Dragonborn adventurers coming together to reclaim artifacts stolen from your tribe, come on down to this link and put in your submission! The actual time of the week we'll be playing is actually still up in the air despite what the listing shows, so don't feel like you can't apply just because you're not available on Mondays.

AND ONCE AGAIN I FORGET THE LINK HOW MANY TIMES DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN BEFORE I STOP SCREWING THIS UP: app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/69913/slash-pfg-slash-dragonborn-game

Why so narrow anyways? And what rules are you even using for Dragonborn?

You'll get it right one of these days.

If you take a look at the link I post in the reply I post you'll see the link to the Dragonborn variants I've created that you can use to build your character. Each color has a different stat array so even though you're all the same species you can still mix it up.

As for why, well, it's been forever since I've seen a campaign made up of something other than only humans that featured only one species. I thought we'd mix it up a bit, plus I like the idea of everyone all coming from the same village and having to come together to do great things.

I hope everyone's having a great Friday night!

I'm not.

>wyrwood war titan
>synthesist summoner

>allowing either of those

That doesn't work for several reasons.

sounds like you hate fun, user

I HAVE HICCUPS AND A SESSION COMING UP IN AN HALF AN HOUR OVER VOICE.

Try sucking dick.

Hold the fuck up
Is that new?

>Dragonborn

I'm playing a Wyrwood Sorcerer with the Arcane/Sage bloodline in a campaign right now.

>Liking Dragonborn

Best thing to do is take long, deep breaths before slowly letting them out. Work up a rhythm.

What's wrong with Dragonborn friendo? There's not really an equivalent species in Pathfinder outside of Kobolds which suck so bad it physically hurts, so why not port them over?

>There's not really an equivalent species in Pathfinder

This is when you modify Lizardfolk and write the Dragonborn as having a mighty empire somewhere in Garund or Avistan.

Not that user, but personally I'm not really a fan of playing dragon-anything. I don't have a problem with the concept or the rules for them, mind; they just don't appeal to me as a playable race.

It's an average Friday.

I might make myself some guacamole before tomorrow's session or something.

Pretty cozy, all things considered.

I've got a game of Stellaris tonight, RotJR tomorrow, and Sunday's my big night off before I have to go off and drive 12 hours to Minneapolis for the biggest interview of my life!

Anyone have some Veeky Forums related podcasts or somesuch I could listen to on the way up? I've got plenty of material from Two Best Friends Podcast, but I need stuff for the return journey too.

Joe Rogan is a crazy dude who can be fun to listen to, consider this a recommendation

Why not just give kobold's decent stats and use them instead?

Kobolds are a slab of baby back bullshit, they're small-sized schmucks and I'm glad they're dead and burning in hell.

>implying that is dead which can eternal lie

>There's not really an equivalent species in Pathfinder
Wyverren, or however you spell it, which have recently gotten more support with the Dragon handbook and such things

I used Dragonborn in my game as a race of beings created by the Runelord Alaznist to serve as a personal army of soldiers endowed with draconic fury. After the Fall, they degenerated into squabbling clans that roamed Varisia and the surrounding lands.

Aren't Wyveran like Dragonborn?
I'll admit I don't remember much of the Dragonborn besides them being the "Kinda Half Dragon" race.

No, it's been around for a little while. Dofus: aux trésors de Kerubim.

>Kobolds are a slab of baby back bullshit,
Its not nice to talk such shit to one of the oldest races and civilizations on Golarion.

I have a better idea.

Sorry user, your thumbnail just made me think of infamous dorafs.

Alright /pfg/, I know PoW maybe old busted now, but I need some advice.

I've been thinking of running a Ronin Warriors type campagin, and I figured PoW would be good for emulating the Surekill techniques.

So I need some help. In your opinions which Manuever would be best at emulating Anubis's Quake With Fear?

I yearn for the day we play a game where the people look like Doraf.

Of course it is, because kobolds are vermin.

They're disgusting lizard dogs and have accomplished jack shit beyond annoying villagers or sucking dragon dick.

But who would join Doraf of the Righteous?

>I'm glad they're dead and burning in hell.
Since when? Heck, aren't there canon Kobold Irregular units in the Molthuni army?

Note to self, stat Doraf.

If you build it, they will come.

And you know what?
They're still beter than dergenbern, since they're actually real, and aren't as likely to attract special snowflake "Muh Honor!" Worf-knockoff bara scalefags like the dergenbern do.

Seriously, Dragonborn are the kind of race that attracts annoying "fer de horde" WoW Orcfags that just run around and shit themselves all over everything.

They're sexually dimorphic.

Women have +Con/Cha and the men are +Str/Con with Powerful Build.

Have you ever had a party just go full spaghetti

I mean they obviously look different, but female Doraf tend to be pretty smashy anyways and I'd argue that of the Granblue races they're the least "CHA" since half of them are some kind of autistic.

I think +STR/+Con and a penalty in one of the mental scores might suit both genders fine.

so im making a small town with a couple of quirky characters to open up some small side adventures for the party, i got a ambiguously evil doctor who studies blood, and gives quest to test how far the party is willing to look away for a good amount of money ("hey, i think there might be someone in this crate" "yeah, but we get no money if the seal is broken")

a startup entrepreneur who claims he will give the party large sums of gold once he gets his company going for real, and then returning to the party with more requests, promising to "double debt" if they just remove this teeny hindrance for his business to truly bloom, which would allow him to pay them back. if the party allow the debt to rise to high enough ammounts so will he betray them in an ambush with assasins.

an drunken and drugged up oracle who gets divine visions of things before they happen, with pinpoint accuracy or them not happening at all

i still need to think of something to do with the local temple of sarenrae (a fairly small one), but im drawing blanks, but it needs to (atleast contain) a cleric that can offer basic cleric services. any fun ideas?

How so? What does that entail?

>party is looking for thieves guild info
>find an emblem behind a house
>decide that means the house owner must be in cahoots
>break in and find old failure of a wizard with a helper monkey familiar
>break his legs, tie him up, kill his monkey, beat him some more, ransack his house
>finally remember to ask questions about the guild
>he has nothing to do with it, they flub the sense motives rolls, beat him some more
>finally remember they have detect thoughts, interrogate again
>realize they've made a horrible mistake
>just throw some gold and a cure potion near him and leave
>confused when I tell them to all bump their alignments a step closer to chaotic evil

I swear those guys, one of them actually tried to make the argument that 'well we paid for his new familiar and healing, what's wrong?'

Penalty to Intelligence would fit for them being a former slave race, however most Doraf do seem to have a touch of the 'tism, which is more Wisdom and Charisma.

I'll fully admit I haven't heard of Wyveran until now. Please, regale me with your knowledge anons.

So is it Doraf, Draph, or just 'Imprecisions of Romanization'?

I'm sorry did you just say that sucking dragon dick wasn't an accomplishment? You know how big those bastards get?

Ah yes, good old fashioned murderhobo-ing. I'm surprised they didn't just kill him anyway to remove witnesses.

How much would an Iomedaean cleric from Andoran know about Drow?
Would a half-drow boy suggest a mystery, or could there be a rationale for his unusual skin tone that wouldn't require him to be a secret race? How strange would he seem?

It's translated as "Draph" in the game but 'boorus use "doraf"... so you can spot all the filthy secondaries that know about them from porn only.

Which ones? Danua for sure but nothing else comes to mind, and she is no more autistic tha, say, Anna.

sites.google.com/site/pathfinderogc/races/other-races/more-races/advanced-races-11-20-rp/wyvaran-17-rp

So I'm wondering, what would Evil parents complain about the Neutral kids?
I'm looking for more generic arguments stemming from their different alignments, not personal things like if one decided to date a hot orc chick.

The family is from a long line of wizard/clerics; worshippers of the god Nethys. His parents are leader of an important faction in the church, considered masters of evocation and summoning magic.

Wyveran was originally introduced as an example of what could be made with the ARG Race Builder system, but was later implemented into Pathfinder proper

Sadly, I never read much about them, as they never interested me, however I recall they had content in the book Legacy of Dragons, and I think Inner Sea Races

Doraf is a crapshoot, a lot of the NA community was playing before official localization and still uses it in /gbfg/.

So his parents are evil and he's neutral?

They tell him to quite being a charity worker. The world is a dark place and he needs to look out for number one. If you don't take advantage of other people when you have the chance, someone else will take advantage of them and you'll be the one left behind. If you don't step on other people first, they'll step on you and you'll be crushed underfoot.

Oddly, they'd probably have the same complaints Good parents would have about Neutral kids.

>"Can't you believe in something for once?"
>"Why are you so lazy?"
>"No sense of commitment."
>"Coward!"

Interesting, though I have to say for my particular game I prefer what I've done with the DB, personally. Maybe I'll play on of these in the future though.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the Evil parents will tell their kid to stop pussyfooting around and get some convictions in life.

I've seen enough porn to know how big those bad boys get!

>/gbfg/
>visiting Veeky Forums
I would prefer not to.

Absolutely nothing, the Drow are a true boogeyman in Golarion in no small part due to the Elves hiding their evil cousins.

A half-elf boy would just appear to be a particularly pale and silver-haired child.

>Don't be such a bitch. If she won't go out with you, rape her and kill her parents.

Hey, the boys in /4x/ and /gsg/ are fun.

I've always thought that Good parents would find their Neutral kids to be too selfish, unwilling to sacrifice for the greater good.

That's what I thought. The cleric is also a half-elf (Wildborn,) so he'd probably be sympathetic to a half-elf lad in need, too.

Not much. With the exception of one country I can't fucking remember, Drow just aren't up on the surface. Unlike in normal D&D, most people in Golarion have never even heard of Drow, so they're not viewed as terribly scary (though of course anyone who was familiar with them would be appropriately scared).

Big enough to fuck a car.

Hence, lacking commitment, work ethic, and courage.

I'd say most of the female Doraf have some kind of anime 'tism going on with them. Aliza, Threo, Forte, Halle. Maybe not CHA penalty levels, but they aren't earning any bonuses.

It'd be easier to write off but the other races just don't really have the same issue. Harvin tend to be pretty sensible and Erune quirks are always pretty functional.

Depends on the dragon! The smaller ones can totally work with particularly hardy human girls or centaur lasses!

/gsg/ talked mostly about Vicky 2 and HoI last time I checked and those are the games I didn't play nor intend to. Never pay much attention to /4x/. /lolg/ and MMO generals were shit.

Sure, sure. I reckon he'll probably mentor the boy if he can get past his shitty street urchin-thief attitude.

So, Legendary Games has a Megabundle going on on the d20 store. 60 books for $30

Is it worth it? Or is it a waste of money and a complete trashpile not worth the space on my computer?

Ah, right. But those are "quirks" that may appear off-putting but are not actual debilities. Men also don't get that.

To spin some silver in a tragic tapestry, the youth will likely grow up to be extremely dashing.

Half-Elves aren't lacking for looks, and half-drow get some striking ones.

The women get a penalty to Wisdom, the men get a penalty to Intelligence?

Would men get Powerful Build to accentuate the dimorphism, and if so what would the women get?

fuck...
I know I've SEEN ronin warriors, but I was what, six?

I recall nothing of it.

Well the girls would be Small, wouldn't they?

Heck, maybe even give BOTH races Powerful Build, it's just the guys are Medium and the girls are Small.

Despite their size, I don't think oversized weapons are actually a very common thing with Doraf. Off the top of my head, Alwida and maybe Forte is the only one that wields anything particularly large, I'd treat the dimorphism as strictly aesthetic.

I'd probably go with an int penalty. I don't think any of them show any particularly cunning but a few of the older ones show wisdom. Female doraf probably aren't smaller than male dwarves and that one prolific image puts Vira as shorter than a few of them so medium seems fine.
