Newfag entering my first """tournament""" at the local GW store in a couple of weeks; How would you rate my Skitarii list?

I'm planning to just deathstar the donkey tanks in the center for dat 3++ save, pop transports with the rangers and neutron blasters/heavy stubbers, then mop up the infantry with massed cancer-rifles and galvanic casters set to shred.

No close-combat ability to speak of, but I'm hoping anything that gets into combat will be so chewed up even vanguard will be able to take them with numbers and -1 toughness ability.

Played today my first game of WH40k and enjoyed it a lot. My current Black Templar army is small one, for 500 pts and consits of:
- Emperors champion
- 20 Initiates (2 with melta, 1 with flamer, rest with pistol + chainsword)
- 5 Neophytes (sword + pistol)
- rhino

What should I be getting next to expand my army to bigger points?

How do you go about getting weapons and other wargear for your models?
Just realizing the box I'm looking at doesn't actually come with enough guns to outfit the whole unit.

Seriously, though, how do I build GKs? With everything being 24" range, footslogging is out, but at 1k, I can't use Land Raiders.

So then I think deep striking, but deepstriking everything isn't allowed anymore, because you auto-lose if you have nothing on the board turn 1.

So then I think the Nemesis Strike Force, which allows turn 1 deepstriking on a 3+. Except that just becomes "Roll 3+ or autolose".

Am I better off running my three Dunecrawlers as a three-tank squadron to get a 4++ save, or individually so I can distribute their shots across more targets?

They're only AV12 on the front, so I'm a bit concerned they'll get knocked out really quickly with just a 6++ to save them, but likewise, concentrating three neutron lasers and six heavy stubbers on a single unit per turn seems like it'd be wasting a lot of firepower.

I've helmeted the most of the Overkil crew, and swapped plasma pistols and hand-flamers for BP's.

I'm curious about this too, I think a single squad in a ML Taurox Prime sounds like fun but I feel they can't deal with anything that has more range or models. This is all I can see since I mostly play IG Vets with Carapace armor but kinda wanna collect some Scions.

Get a stick from Hobby Lobby, they are in the wood craft section, get some double sized tape, put your minis on it and spray it pretty much anywhere outside.

Vallejo makes a really nice primer that you can brush on your models.

I had the same issue. Get a big cardboard box from a supermarket, tape up the edges just in case, then open your windows and spray the models inside the box.

noob who has been playing more games lately, I took a similar list to this on previous teeg advice (everybody hates the forgefiend I know, might go with laspred instead and get 35 points to spend) against DA but too bad the store closed too soon to finish.
