The problem with SU is that all of the social commentary is sort of lost once you consider that the Gems, although feminine, are actually genderless. Their life cycles just don't sync up with any known lifeform on our planet except for maybe single celled organisms.

Sometimes I feel like it'd be fun to play an rpg where everyone is full of OC Donut Steal Mary Sues. While I think it'd be fun for ironic reasons, I could see it being refreshing going full retard and playing against the grain of what makes a good character.

What system would would be good for this. On one hand you could go Gurps with every source book or maybe something like Mutants and Masterminds if you wanted full autistic crunch behind it, but I feel like something more rules light would be in the spirit. Maybe a reworked MAID wouldn't be a bad place to start.

He comes to the wrong conclusions for the right reasons. The show doesn't play into the typical SJW misandrist/psuedo-communist ideal, but it doesn't really play into traditional roles either. It generally assesses each character as an individual rather than their identity. I think almost every character would be essentially identical if switched from male to female and back.

There's a certain point with satire or pretending to be retarded where if you spend your day making joke OCs, you're equally as brain damaged as the people who make them for real.

It looks like another variation on having to engage your 'inner darkness' in physical battle, which is a classic. You might disagree on whether or not it's a /good/ classic, but it's a classic.
So, broad strokes around that core idea: edgy loner somehow stumbles into a power he wasn't ready for and tries to do good with it. However, his own edginess and power-overload-related brain damage make him get increasingly unstable and dangerous to those around him, despite his good intentions. Ultimately, he makes a last desperate ploy to 'split himself in two' and purge the darkness of his soul from himself by physical violence. Succeed, he becomes a well-adjusted individual in full control of his powers; fail, and the opposite happens.

Tried to retain some of the 'teenage edge' flavor while moving out of cringe territory. Not sure if I succeeded.

I had an OC like this before. She was sort of a testing character, if any other character ideas popped up and I fleshed them out, I'd put them against her.

If any of them had an inkling of a chance for surviving past a second, I considered them too strong.
