Well my mother is the queen of the land... however she's also EVERYONE's mother so that's kinda cheating.

Reposting from because it came in just a second too late:

So.

Thinking I might retool a character I once submitted to dragon game (the first time around) as basically a demesne-dwelling bancho--complete with the outfit.

I've got most of what I want in mind already (including plenty of skill points in stuff like sewing and cooking to contrast with the tough guy image), but what say you on this, /pfg/?

Should this draconic delinquent be a man or a woman?

both, or neither

Be a guy.

Hm, perhaps refluffed oni-spawn who uses their daily spell-like to masquerade as the opposite sex?

Or maybe something with a vigilante dip.

He does. She's a whore. He hates her for being a whore and by association hates all whores and calistrians. She is sad about this.

Can someone good with spheres tell me if the Nimbus Focus drawback actually requires you to take a Nimbus talent with the talent it grants? Because it just says you can't take any Nimbus talents EXCEPT with the talent granted by the drawback, but not that the talent it grants must be a Nimbus Talent. Is that just a typo on the Spheres Wiki and the RAI is what I think it's supposed to be?
>three talents if I want to Blacklight AND Glory Encompassing Light if it's true
Not being a fullcaster in spheres is suffering

Tiefling yes, but just use #83

Reposting to prevent rusecruises from setting sail.

Hello! News from WotR GM(RgPl).

He will not posting his results on /pfg/. He will posting his selections on roll20, and anything that appears on here is likely false.

"[14:18] I won't be posting any selections onto /pfg/, just roll20
[14:18] When people drop their selections into thread it just gets turned into a shitstorm"

In the meantime, happy waiting and good luck to all applicants!

GM is currently figuring out timezone shenanigans, which is going to take a while. Don't expect anything soon.

>timezone shenanigans
Being disqualified due to an incompatible schedule is probably the most painful way to get rejected. This is why its often ideal for the GM to decide the schedule in advance.

Painful precisely because it's just too real.
Like, you can understand perfectly, and it's unavoidable...but that kinda makes it cut deeper.

So far there's 2 votes for dude, 1 vote for neither, 2 votes for futa

Anybody care to be tie-breaker?

Go for the inbetween. Play for both teams! be a fifth edition elf!

How sad that we're not actually playing 5e.

we meme about it all the time, but you know what? Do it faggot. GM's a cool guy, probably would let you

So! How was your weekend, /pfg/? Do anything fun or exciting, game-related or otherwise?

I NEED CITY ENCOUNTER IDEAS FOR A LOW LEVEL PARTY THAT'S HAD A COUPLE OF BIG FIGHTS ON THE ROAD.

CITY IS ON THE TOP OF A GREAT BIG WATERFALL AND SITUATED NEXT TO THE LAKE THAT FEEDS THE FALLS.

I WAS THINKING SOMETHING WITH HEARTWARMING STREET-KIDS

Heartwarming YOUKAI KITSUNE street kids!

What's your build? Are you a Merciful Shibui paladin, or a Neutral Shabazo ninja?

The party finds a mysterious young boy who is just a halfling that happens to be a vigilante. He has a human child for his Vigilante Identity.

Been making some vague attempts at getting some kind of character design down for my Dragons 2 submission. It's really loose, sketchy and lacking a lot of detail but here's what I've got so far.

I'm thinking I might make her build a little more athletic looking, while I'm a huge fan of the whole 'delicate frame hiding retarded amounts of strength' thing I'm sure everyone can appreciate a slightly more toned frame. If this gets through I'm rather looking forward to updating this design as she works towards her goals of becoming the huge dragon queen that she longs to be.

So, what games are still recruiting that don't look like bamboozles?

WHAT DO THE STREET KIDS DO?

THIS IS GOOD, IT WILL BE A GNOME FOR REASONS THOUGH...

She looks like a fucking pineapple head.

Street performers running interference as a distraction for pick pickets. Dozens of pick pockets.

You're a pineapple head.

In all seriousness, the idea is that the hair is supposed to look like those crests that white dragons have, I may end up abandoning the look altogether if I can't make it to look better by the end though.

Somehow a strange aquatic creature that lives in the lake has been sneaking into the bathhouses and stealing shit.

The PCs find it on the run from a nearby bathhouse, pursued by a few angry patrons.

party has no rogue or really keen-eyed player.

technically the highest spot goes to either the Druids Bat or the Barbarian

You mean a merboy!

Pretty good!

Had fun ripping and tearing my way through goblins and reviewing pornography in SotJR.

Sadly my Sunday game got cancelled due to the GM working late; but he gave us another puzzle to solve and we had some excellent RP time.

> posted this in last thread but reposting just one time for a second opinion

I've just unleashed a plague in the city where the characters live. One of them owns a tavern and the others kinda revolve around it, either working there or performing there or hanging out in the street nearby... they all have some link to it. So they've been fighting a cult which has now just unleashed a weaponized super-charged plague onto the city. Now, I want this plague to be actually deadly. Not the stupid-ass diseases in Pathfinder, like the zombie plague in the bestiary that I figured out only has like a 1 in 1000 chance of killing a commoner. I want this plague to be basically Ebola or the Black Plague. It will wipe out the city if not stopped and might even kill a PC or two. I want it to be cold and cruel and really fuck up the PCs.

So here's what I have so far:

>Caster level check against DC 20 is required for cure disease to work on a victim.
>Incubation 3 days, frequency 1 per day for saves

I set the Fortitude DC at 18 but might raise it to 20. For a commoner with a +0 Fort save, though, that cuts the chance of survival to one third of what it was before, though. Two consecutive saves to cure the disease. Considered 3 but that felt almost too frustrating. And it deals Con and Str damage. My biggest question is, how much of each should it deal? At first I felt like going big for 1d6. But that might way too much. I am currently thinking 1d4. I know that's big for disease but keep in mind I seriously want to risk this disease killing a party member. Like a 50% chance that at least one of the six PCs will die. They are 4th level so decent saves. So maybe 1d4+1? is that "legal"? I dunno.

What do you guys think? I really want disease to be a real danger for once, not just some annoying inconvenience.

Even better. Upgrade the dozens to hundreds as the party are easy and extremely rich marks. Teach that the meaning of "didn't plan ahead".

You ever read The Lies of Locke Lamora?

The street kids are thieves, but very trained and theatrical thieves. They've come to believe that adventurers who walk into town make great marks, not knowing the place, carrying treasures, and often not checking their pockets until they're back on the road. The kids run an elaborate con, faking a side quest for the adventurer's to take which is just an elaborate distraction while they pilfer their goods.

>The Lies of Locke Lamora
and the following 2 books...

and that might be a bit complicated for the group, it's almost exclusively newbies

>extremely rich marks
nope, poor as dirt.
that was my intention.

perhaps yes this...

1 in 1000 chance for a zombie plague to kill a commoner? It takes 5 to 10 days to kill a commoner, and a commoner has to roll 11+ on a fort save twice in a row to be cured. There isn't a 999 out of 1000 chance that in a sample size of 10 you will roll 11+ twice consecutively.

How do you handle tieflings and helmets/hats?

They have helmets/hats designed with their horns in mind, assumedly.

It juz works

Well, thanks for making me look up Kenka Bancho to figure out what the fuck you were saying.

But the first half of my gestalt is Scaled Fist, and the other's probably going to be some kind of caster.

First game was okay, nothing actually felt like it got done. Mostly disappointed in myself for my own lack of initiative due to bad habits.

Second game had a few bumps, but we're rapidly approaching the end of a book and the halfway mark of the AP. I'm most excited for what'll happen between books, considering I'm "the crafting guy" and will need to get with the other players/the GM to dole out loot, divide up my downtime for crafting, and keep another player from killing my character's newly awakened "daughter", which are all going to be very fun and not at all headache inducing. I suppose there's also the small matter of trying to bug the GM about trying to fix the smoking remains of the homebrew he had me set up for myself, but I'm taking it one step at a time.
Game #3 has unfortunately been dead for weeks, and a "Bonus Oneshot" someone proposed to me hasn't panned out.

Depends entirely on the kind of tiefling. Most tieflings do not have horns.

Even the looted ones?

It juz works ok?

So guys: doing an E. scion and War Kineticist+ Roil dancer/kinetic knight x Fighter gestalt. I have thrashing dragon, Mithral Current, and elemental flux. I'm thinking of combining M. current and T. dragon because Im planning on TWFing with an actual sword and a kinetic blade.

The build is a STR/CON, heavy armor wearing guy. I know I need Prodigious TWF to qualify for the TWF Feats, but what else do I need?

From what we have heard from the avowed's two writers, a few things are on the metaphorical chopping block, ready to be downgraded: the nation pact's 4th-level empowerment, some facets of the self pact, aether channel's second purchase, and the Overcharge Modulation feat.

Let us see what can be done with a 5th-level avowed at the moment. One set of options I had overlooked earlier is the Avowed 1 PDF's maenad FCB, and the Avowed 2 playtest's new penitent race and damnation feats; I will be using those in this build.

If I have committed any errors in this build, please point such out.

Level: 5th
Race: Penitent (Humble origins [+2 Dexterity and Intelligence], tempting visage)
Class: Avowed (undead [lich] pact, betrothed); note that the lich pact betrothed empowerments have yet to be written, but we do not need any for this build

Betrothed Key Ability Score: Dexterity 23 = base 18 + racial 2 + level advancement 1 + enhancement 2
Companion Key Ability Score: Dexterity 21 = base 16 + form 2 + level advancement 1 + enhancement 2

Key Equipment: Belt of incredible dexterity +2 (4,000 gp each) ×2

Traits:
Combat: Reactionary
Race: Reborn (maenad)
Social: Student of Philosophy

Betrothed Feats:
Penitent: Hellfire Talent
1st-level: Fiendskin
Avowed 2: Soldier of Misfortune
3rd-level: Point Blank Shot
5th-level: Precise Shot

Companion Feats:
1st-level: Hellfire Talent
3rd-level: Fiendskin
5th-level: Soldier of Misfortune

Shapes: Aether barrage ×4, shared by the companion

Least Clauses: Any five, shared by the companion

Initiative:
6 Dexterity modifier
+2 Reactionary
Total: +8, and the companion acts on the betrothed's initiative count

Aether Barrage Attacks:
1 attack from BAB
1 attack from aether barrage's second purchase
Total Attacks: 2

Range: 100 feet + 50 feet from caster level = 130 feet

Betrothed Aether Barrage Attack Bonus:
3 BAB
+6 Dexterity modifier
+2 Hellfire Talent
+1 Small size
Total: +12/+12, targets touch AC

Magic helmets are magic, regular helmets don't provide any mechanical benefit so I just say they're not wearing a looted helmet but suffer no actual penalty.

ESPECIALLY the looted ones!

Betrothed Aether Barrage Damage:
3d4 betrothed aether pulse
+6 Dexterity modifier
+3 Hellfire Talent
+2 maenad FCB
Total: 3d4+11 (average 18.5)

Companion Aether Barrage Attack Bonus:
3 BAB
+5 Dexterity modifier
+2 Hellfire Talent
+1 Small size
+1 aetheric strikes
Total: +12/+12, targets touch AC

Betrothed Aether Barrage Damage:
3d4 companion aether pulse
+5 Dexterity modifier
+3 Hellfire Talent
+1 aetheric strikes
Total: 3d4+9 (average 16.5)

Initiative +8. The betrothed and their companion act on the same initiative account and launch four 150-foot ranged touch attacks at +12/+12/+12/+12. Sadly, the companion lacks Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot, but the attacks will probably land regardless. If all four attacks are regular hits, that will result in an average of 70 damage, enough to kill a typical CR 6:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E2-s8weiulPoBQjdI05LBzOUToyoZIdSsLKxHAvf8F8/edit#gid=3

None of this takes any prep time or resource expenditures at all.

Other highlights of the build include:
• Fiendskin: Given the right outsider, resist 5 cold, resist 5 electricity, and fire immunity
• Soldier of Misfortune: 20 rounds of fast healing 1 each day, permanent immunity to possession and mental control from good creatures or objects, damage reduction 5/cold iron and magic *or* damage reduction 5/magic and silver.
• Five least clauses, which can be like hidden knowledge (+6 bonus to all Knowledge checks and make them untrained), sightseer (see in all darkness perfectly and see invisiblity), or silver tongue (+6 bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate checks)

The avowed is still looking to be quite an outlier amongst tier 3 classes thanks to this damage stacking. Can any other 5th-level characters kill an average CR 6 so easily, with no prep time and no resource expenditures, while having the same utility as the avowed and all their clauses?

Most tieflings don't have horns.

Also armor you look doesn't just automatically fit. Heavy armor has to be fitted to you.n

Whats this betrothed thing anyway?
Some sort of early access leadership thing?

>Had fun ripping and tearing my way through goblins and reviewing pornography in SotJR.

I'm honestly kicking myself for suggesting Onryou and Seht take Ameiko instead of offering Val to do it. I only realized this morning that it would have been a prime opportunity to bring the Vilderavn out to play.

>Aether Channel's second purchase
>nerfing the fun part of the shape instead of just altering the bonus damage

You can't convince me that this is going to be a good change no matter how you try

got stuck trying to fight through the goblin infested glassworks with my character, while i was on my phone, at work interrupted by needy customers, and unable to see any maps with my combat basically regulated to "run up and hit the closest one." with the GM doing my rolls for me.

Frankly i might as well not attempted to participate. i was positively livid that the majority of the session i really couldn't participate in any meaningful way. Not for lack of trying.

Had a movie day/night. Watched John Wick, John Wick 2, The Double, and Being John Malkovich.

Basically you cut your blast damage in half to give that half to a very very light eidolon that gains your clauses and the two of you adventure together. It takes a lot of the clauses you get and makes them require that the two of you work together to use them, or that if you use A then your betrothed can only use A this turn, and vice versa.
It's the waifu archetype.

Oh, I don't know, being selected and then not receiving an invite is pretty harsh.

Also, aether barrage's fourth purchase makes the aether pulse ignore all miss chances, so not even concealment will save the target from being pummeled with aether channel rays.

The betrothed archetype gives you a mini-avowed companion to work alongside.

docs.google.com/document/d/1rV7kaF9JL2gw9xQalkEnlEDL9WXtbsaCqNABm_pLIgc/edit#heading=h.hsux1yxhmm96

Why Mithril Current? Dual Wielding and draw-cuts don't really seem like the most obvious combo.

It certainly would have.

Although, Val being too shell-shocked to think of it also makes a good deal of sense.

Lots of John, huh?

...well, we had THAT scene.

And now we're never going to live it down.

My party and I valiantly faced off against a Gug savant and a swarm of over 10 Mi-go with both myself (dwarven cleric) and our human kineticist giving our lives for our brethren.

I fell aiding my Paladin brother using shield other to mitigate his damage as he took on the entire swarm freeing the kineticist from the grasp of a Mi-Go with my final action.

Free from their grasp the kineticist used his power to throw the paladin into a narrow side passage before being consumed by the ravenous horde allowing the surviving party members to funnel the enemy and find victory after a gruelling battle.

you guys kinda needed THAT scene. To help your characters come together. at the genitals

>tfw someone uses this as a portrait

What's a good way to punch spells into someone? I'm looking at Eldritch Scion, but not really feeling it as a good other side to my gestalt.

>To help your characters cum together.

I still find it hilarious that Saboten had no involvement in that scene whatsoever, and was instead out shopping with her daughterus/imoutos.

Seems legit to me. What's the problem?

I ended up making a stand against a group of werewolves so my party members could get away. I ended up being chased through a frozen forest without my weapon and no armor. My party got away. I had a really bad time.

>WHAT DO THE STREET KIDS DO?
They are literal foxes that can change into kids! Why don't they live in a forest? Maybe they are too weak and scrawny or the younger sibling is sick? They probably know lots of places that only foxes can get into.

>I'm a huge fan of the whole 'delicate frame hiding retarded amounts of strength'
Truly a man of taste. Little girls and slender ladies being super strong is my fetish.

Technically the whole "sheathed" thing just means "weapon is held in a non-threatening way." Like a spear with the tip in the ground, a man with his hands in his pockets, a bow with the string not drawn, or, yes, a sword in its sheath. How well the mechanics match up to the fluff is another discussion. Anyways, I'm thinking of using M. current primarily for the counters, with thrashing dragon being the main source of damage. I'll have it fluffed very specifically- the guy having two different forms for his kinetic blade: a parrying form like a parrying dagger, and an offense form like a saber that he uses to TWF. How does that sound?

You're forgetting to account for the fact that said character is Damned twicefold (even with Pentient granting a free [Damnation] feat), meaning that said character is very much in-danger of getting killed and unable to return without effort, alongside enforcing an alignment change that might not be enjoyed by the player. These sorts of things can't be ignored in actual play, even though they might be in a white-room scenario such as this.

Mobage have been a great boon for the tabletop community.

More food to be found in cities with less depredadors. Every critter is doing it nowadays.

>spellstrike is OP because you multiply the spell on a crit
Have you ever wanted to choke someone through a monitor, /pfg/?

>child picks my character's pocket
>takes my coin purse
>carry around 50gp on my person in various coinage
>GM expects me to forgive him as a lovable scamp
>I backhand the child hard enough to knock it unconscious
>GM freaks out
>party freaks out
>tell them I take the kid a post in the market where the baron's guards lounge about at to wait for fights/riots/etc to break up
>drop unconscious kid off, telling them he stole from me

Not my problem anymore. Kid told me if I answered his riddle he'd give back my purse. I answered it with a mailed fist.

#BlameTakumi
In all seriousness though, Takumi makes a great example for being an Eldritch Archer Magus. Special weapon that only he can use, Expeditious Retreat and Dimension Door for his movement bullshit, and so on. Maybe he can multiclass into Hawkguard Warder in order to attack at close-range too and get some extra options at his disposal for when he doesn't want to use spells.

kek

>magus is broken because it can cast and attack!
>it shouldn't have more interesting arcana, because it already has spellcasting!
>the magus can't get new arcana that are equivalent to sphere talents, even though they compete for literally the EXACT SAME FUCKING RESOURCE POOL

Yes, yes I have

That will teach him!

So if a little girl turned out to be a BBEG in disguise I'll have entered your magical realm?

Vialla here!

I created a spreadsheet for available times for WotR! See who you are compatible with!

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EL92DzaleI6g51law9H8p6OO1DYw7sm5DkDqd2EOEQQ/edit?usp=sharing

That's a pretty sexy idea then, as for feats that you need I can't think of anything other than the usual TWF feats,

>Little girls and slender ladies being super strong is my fetish.
Same, although part of the plan is for her to become larger as the game progresses and grow up from being the tiny dragon girl to thicc dragon queen. Of course, that is also my fetish so it's kind of a win win for me.

Though considering I'm competing with characters like sexy female Gilgamesh I'm not sure that's going to end up happening.

>said character is very much in-danger of getting killed and unable to return without effort
The benefits of Fiendskin and Soldier of Fortune help the character not get killed in the first place. Never mind that the character has maxed-out Dexterity, Small size, and another body on the field to take hits.

How often do your characters get killed that "This character cannot be resurrected short of a true resurrection" is an actual drawback? Never mind that, from a pragmatic perspective, it simply means that the character's arc has ended, and it is time to field a new character.

>enforcing an alignment change
Funnily enough, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from undoing the alignment change. There is no "And the character can never become good-aligned ever again" stipulation. Even if there was, "The character cannot be good-aligned" is one of the shoddiest balancing factors possible.

You didn't break his wrists for stealing and let him fend for himself? What a faggot.

I'm impressed, and a little bit unnerved.

fuck off, your GM probably wanted the kid to be an NPC. players like you are cancer

Nothing to be said about balance, just that even if that's effective, it's not necessarily the direction a player might want their character to take. Although at least this time around, Pentient instead of Small Tiefling makes sense.

I heard the DM of WotR isn't selecting anybody because it would just create a shitstorm?

Not my place. Dropped him off at the local authority figure to let them punish him. I don't have the time, energy, nor inclination to dish out vigilante justice.

Thanks! I just need help picking good maneuvers. Probably gonna invest all my counters into M. current, and take my stances and strikes from Dragon. I can also fluff the character as "wielding the storm," because E. Scion grants air and electric blasts at level 1, and I can get a conductive weapon at 5th, which allows me to have a kinetic blade made of air and send electricity through my sword to zap people with!

Francisca here, it turns out that due to one of my games ending, my Saturdays are now free!

They aren't saying who got chosen in the thread itself; watch the Roll20 instead to learn who gets chosen.

Sheet has been edited to reflect this.

>Get pickpocketed for an amount equal to a yearly wage for some peasants
>Expected to laugh it off with a riddle contest when the thief gets caught
News Flash, thieves are dicks and deserve what they get. Sob stories about being some street urchin aside, this is a perfectly viable response. That cute little scamp is just going to grow up to think the world owes him and get bitter when his cuteness can't carry him anymore, then end up knifing someone else in an alley.

Allegedly we'll have results tonight, he's just not posting it on /pfg/ because he wants to avoid a shitstorm.

Someone will though and it's gonna happen anyways. I'm very disappointed we're not already shitposting about it, I've been following this game for a month and a half in hopes that it'd be the one to shit all over the place.

Well, if you're a gestalt, what was your first side?
Also, 3pp or no?

This is questionable for game balance, then, because it means that players who are fine with playing truly damned avowed have an *enormous* edge over those who are not fine with such.

Few other classes are *that* much better off by being damned.

>refers to street urchin as "it"
