Modern Masters Spoilers thread

Wizards surely has spoiled all the good shit right? There cannot possibly be anything else good left in the set right? I'd honestly be impressed.

Why so much collector hate, Veeky Forums?

We'll find out tomorrow when full spoiler hits, famalam

>tfw I won't get to use this new serum visions and gitaxian probe in the same deck
Feels bad desu

Fitchen Kinks

$300 and climbing. You faggots WILL have to put up with hoarding and price gouging.

If they do it I'd really be happy

noble hierarch is a shoe-in

Because collectors ruin eternal formats for the actual players.

They hoard pieces to a children's card game thinking they're the wolf of wall street when they're actually just making the game harder for people to play.

Because they care more about the value of their cards than actually playing the game with them.

It's alright bruh, you'll never see them in the same deck anymore

;_;

You mean 300 and falling you stupid fucking bitch, I jerk off to the thought of you losing money on this
Nah it's not though

>Because collectors ruin eternal formats for the actual players.
But I am an actual player.

>Because they care more about the value of their cards than actually playing the game with them.
Not necessarily. If I had to choose between collecting and playing, I'd easily choose playing. Collecting is just sort of a side gig for me.

Given that Bant is Bant Blinks, there's a decent chance they'll find their way in.

Let me rephrase.

You ruin it for OTHER players because you want to play baby's first stock trades

I don't really trade or sell much. I mostly just hoard and admire.

>tfw MTG is going the same way as Yugioh

RIP

Why is it a bad thing for cards to be accessible?

>80 dollars over MSRP
OY FUCKING VEY GOYIM ITS ANUDDAH SHOAH ILL BE BANKRUPTED! HOW WILL I AFFORD A NICE MATZA BALL FOR DA SABBATH?

I don't think we're ever gonna see Tarmogoyf tins.

>implying they are not accessible as is
get a job

>60 (Sixty) dollars for a piece of cardboard that sees play in the sideboard of a couple modern decks
>Acessible

Wizards stated they will be printing 5x as many of this as mm15.....and mm15 is still readily available at or below msrp.

Why is it wrong to have decks at a reasonable price?

Why is it alright to have a card game that has an entry cost of a small car?

>Wizards stated
Source?

Paying more than 20 dollars for a card is stupid as hell no matter how much money you have.

You know what they could print to make this perfect?

Ancestral Vision

Ancestral Vision at rare

This tbqh - that will mean all overpriced pieces of Grixis Control will be out there.

Shame it will never happen.

>mfw jund gets most of its key pieces reprinted whereas my shitty control deck will fade into obscurity

Is this porn?

>Mishras bauble $40
OY VEY

Then I just hoard more. Storage space is pretty cheap for me.

>and mm15 is still readily available at or below msrp.
Because there is zero demand for it. But 5x is quite a lot. I hope it's enough.

Real talk here, hear me niggas I have a honest question for Veeky Forums.

These Modern Masters reprints seem pretty amazing, but what's the point when the Modern scene is being reduced more and more?

There's less premiere events, Modern nats got canned, and basically everything is getting turned into Standard events, like the event in Las Vegas that always was a modern tournament.

Personally on my country, the ONLY big modern events were 2 Nationals, and Wizards killed them and we now only have a single Standard tournament.

Honestly what's the point of spending $1000 or $500 on a competitive modern deck just to play Locals?
I beat that 90% of the players in Veeky Forums also don't even attend to tournaments even if they were hosted near their cities.

I ask again, so yeah reprints and cheaper cards but for what?

No it isn-
>it actually is
Well, there goes my chances at getting this until mm21

Anything is porn when you're brave enough.

What's up goys, I mean guys! Rudy here. AMA.

Because we enjoy playing the game and are clearly willing to pay money for reprints.

Who are you exactly? I have no idea who you are.

I think lack of Modern events was a feint designed to curb expectations and deter speculation, just like the crappy box art.

So I can't want some of the best cards if I don't compete in torments?

>Honestly what's the point of spending $1000 or $500 on a competitive modern deck just to play Locals?
I'm not spending that much to beat up locals. I already have everything in Modern.

>he thought the lack of hype around MM17 was distributors were burned by EM restock and not the players being pissed about MM15

He has his head pretty far up his own ass.

Because I'm a crack addict AND I CANT FUCKING STOP BUYING BOXES/PACKS TO OPEN THEM

SEND FUCKING HELP

Some trust fund baby who LARPs Wolf of Wall Street with mtg cards

Because the next 6 months or so is going to be the best and maybe last window to buy these cards at a near-reasonable price.

Salty as fuck. He's making money with your hobby and could probably build any deck he wanted.

Guys, what if the print run lasts for over 6 months? What will happen to the secondary market?

This is the most accurate description of MtG """""Finance""""""" I've ever seen.

As someone who works in law and spent a lot of time working in acquisition finance, every time I hear these faggots talking about it I want to gouge out their eyes.

How do I make 5 figures a month off of the mentally enfeebled like you do?

He donates to himself

Patreon is the biggest cancer in the 1st world.

What are these people paying him for?

>he can write off his own donations to himself as both charitable donations AND business expenses

Genius.

That's likely.

that's unreal

Existing. Just like with every patreon ever.

>He's making money with your hobby

Why the patreon account then? Do you think Warren Buffett has one to make ends meet?

But he's not building any decks because he's an autist who only plays with cards from before 1995. He rarely opens boosters because it "loses their value", even for dead fucking games. He's not even willing to waste six fucking dollars to show the cards from a card game nobody even knows exists

Have you ever seen the Monty Python skit about donating to charity?

It's like that.

Getting cheap mtg boxes? afaik, he sells boxes for 80 to his patrons.

>So I can't want some of the best cards if I don't compete in tournaments?*

fixed for you

>Because the next 6 months or so is going to be the best and maybe last window to buy these cards at a near-reasonable price.

>I'm not spending that much to beat up locals BUT....

Of course, you can do whatever you want guys, you're free to buy several boxes and singles, Im not debating that, Im just trying to see the point of it.

For example you could with enough money hire people to throw excrement at each other, and the winner gets to shit on your mouth.
But does that makes sense?
It's practical?
Of course not....

I see buying expensive Modern cards in the same way, you use $1000 or more to create a deck, and if you don't go to premiere events you're stuck playing once or twice a week with other 7 seven guys that you may or not like.
Probably the same guys, every week.

At that point wouldn't make more sense to spend the $1000 on something else and just print the cards you want with a cheap printer? You're not playing in a premiere event, so who would give a fuck?

Is this some white person ego thing?
I just don't understand, I have enough money to go and buy an Abzan or Jund deck right now in SCG, but I can't see the point of using $1000 decks to play locals.

Is just seems like nonsense when there's no high end stakes to move the gears.
I would totally approve if Modern was the main format and Wizards wasn't trying to kill it...

>plays with cards from before 1995

He doesn't know how to play. He has shown this in many occasions.

>just print the cards you want with a cheap printer? who would give a fuck?

Why even print them? Write the name of each card on a piece of paper and put them in a plastic bag. Every time you draw a card, pull a piece of paper from the bag.

People buy cards because the immense majority of players will not accept playing against proxies.

More affordable cards are about the only way to revive the format and get more players involved in it

He sold CN2 and SOI for $70. Aether Revolt this month for $80.

Show me three examples or forever be labeled a shitposting faggot.

So they pay the same for a booster box and just donate money every month, fascinating.

Could play Atraxa in EDH ^3^

Never underestimate the stupidity of people that get caught up in a trend. See: Silly Bandz and similar items.

Knock yourself out. youtube.com/watch?v=X8zv8irGIvU

Really? show me where to get a box for 70, s&h included.
>inb4 muh local shoppe can't give prove

That's one. Two more.

>he hates someone just for being successful

Does he fucking enjoy this? Why doesn't he spend his money on a boat or a fucking snowmobile? Jesus christ.

>successful

Probably not related, but it's wrong that my standards of successful is someone like Bill Gates?

Someone with so much money and power that you can just do nothing at all and your life would go perfect anyway?

I can't see as successful someone who still has to work to survive.

But you're still paying for the discounted price. It comes out to be a wash anyways.

Those are big words for someone holed up in mummy's basement

lol, a shitty ponder/preordain at uncommon. What a joke.

...

Did you guys know that Robert Downey Jr. isn't actually Iron Man? Blew my mind when I found out.

I don't even get what you're going here. So for a $10 patreon fee, you want booster boxes for free?

What would be the fucking point? You just watched a 20 minute rundown of his "awesome" deck where he clearly shows he doesn't know how to play beyond the very basics. What else do you need?

I know it is hard to swallow that your internet boyferendu is a mong, but there's more fish in the sea. Before you know it, you'll be sucking some other guys dick while he takes your money.

>Aether Revolt box on eBay ~$95
Gosh, I don't want to spend that much!
>Aether Revolt box from (((Rudy))) ~$80
What a great price! Never mind that my $15 Patreon fee makes it the same price as eBay, Rudy is truly my greatest ally!

So we're lowering the cost of modern, great.

Now how do we keep investors from ruining standard?

>pay money to Rudy every month to get a minor discount on product you may or may not buy that month
>it looks like he is the one who chooses which boxes go on sale, so you probably won't want what he has up, but still gotta pay
>no clue what the minimum dollar sacrifice is to get this, but probably enough you could have gotten the one box you DO want with it after about a year
I sorta understand places like Costco where you pay to unlock a discount on shit you actually need constantly, like food (I've never shopped there but I imagine food is nice). But how often do you need a booster box? How often do you get the one you need? This seems like a horrific deal.

It's okay. Any day now, your balls will drop and you will see life in a different way.

>[Autistic Screeching Intensifies]

for commander, the best eternal format
snapcaster and goyf at mythic are just ploys to get stupid modern players to buy boxes and lower prices on the REAL reprints, like hoof-daddy and damnation.

Im not the same dude trying to shit talk the streamer, I haven't seen his videos or anything.

I just mentioned it because sometimes I can't relax or chill, not even sleep, because I feel anxiety over things like losing economic stability which would lead to losing my apartment, job, car, etc.

I think I will not be able to sleep well or enjoy things until I get so much money that my life is solved even without working. I think it's because that means I am successful.

So I was asking, it's bad that something like that means successful to me?

I have 2 savings account and some other money hidden in case something goes really wrong, but it's not enough.
My mind doesn't let go of the anxiety.

Costco is basically the exact same idea, you pay a membership fee to get bulk products (not better, just bulk) at a discount rate. The difference is Costco doesn't limit you to one product a month, they have huge stores and you can buy as much shit as you want, so its easy to end up paying less than you would at a normal store even with the membership cost. Also, the membership cost can be paid off by purchasing items from the store. If you do your normal grocery shopping at Costco every week, you'll never pay a membership fee beyond the first.

>entering rudy's patreon and only buying one booster box
You have an allotment of a case and you only buy one booster box? Well, i dunno, sounds like you're the stupid one.

See that guy lying down? That should be you a couple days a week.

Getting a box for 270aud

You sure love that movie user

>he spends $500 a month on cardboard
>he pays someone a monthly subscription to then pay that same person $500 a month

How much is that in real money?

lol white people baka

About 220 Trumps.
