You forgot to link the last thread.
Oh well.
Jumpers!
How many of you do research for your chains?
As in let's say you pick up a perk for survival skills: do you actually look up survival skills that would be related to your starting location?
If you've picked up a mundane crafting skill do you research how the items were actually made?
Do you just skim wikipedia and youtube or other sources?
I do. I do to the point that I completely changed my plot after research in how flares were made.
what jumps can get you something like the Naruto susanoo ability?
...
I vote we start an ACTUAL new thread so we don't have to deal with a shitposter who intentionally fucks up the OP like the general does.
Joho, DnD has a summoner class just like this I think, green lantern constructs, creation from anima, I think maybe bleach as a sword ability too.
I vote we act like adults and ignore it and ignore children who complain about such a minor thing.
What makes being a Forgotten Realms deity a trap?
I wasn't aware adults like to just lie back and let people shit their things up instead of complaining. Are you the kind of guy who won't return a burger that ends up covered in condiments you asked them not to include?
Gods need worship badly, or they go poof.
The jump says you get stuck in Forgotten realms if you have a divinjty over 0, which is not actually a trap.
You can give diviny away as a god to get back down to 0 then carry on. I gave mine to a bunch of animals.
It's usually more research about the setting and powers than mundane stuff, though I plunged into medieval weaponry and historical dueling when I made my Dark Souls 3 build.
Contrarily, it seems that yours are the jimmies which are rustled.
Going back through some of the older jumps (after reading through stargate) I kind of wish that 80s action hero had a Charles Bronson origin.
Is it really advisable to post stale shitposting memes with your name on?
>Chart doesn't include sabers which lasted far longer than faggot swords aka rapiers did.
Is that actually a thing in FR? I've looked through Deities and Demigods and there's nothing that stands out as 'needing worship or cease.' It's more that the god loses power.
That was written out, yeah. So Dragon Ascendent doesn't keep you there either.
Because the Setting's Over God decided that the other Gods need to be restricted, he made it so that they would disappear if they were not worshiped enough.
Not sure if you would carry that with you post jump but it is best not to take any chances with curses designed by the top God of a D&D setting.
Is that true regarding divine rank 0, who are explicitly expected to have few if any worshippers?
the old "swords are a spectrum" trick I use with the armsfusion crafter, nice.
>bestowing your divinity equally on not five teenagers with attitude.
I think I do a decent amount of research , I read the fan wiki. I watch a play through, I've even taken up playing the game to the endgame for one of them.
>sabers
Curved blades, senpai. Chart's only straight forms.
"Swords: The Development of their straight forms"
So no, sabers aren't on the chart.
Shame, because no chart should treat faggot swords as the penultimate form of the sword.
What do you think it would take a (post-spark likely) jumper to get him to change those rules, and/or whatever other rules that force the Wall and whatever other terrible afterlives to exist?
Not sure, I just know that Ao made it so that other gods can die from insufficient worship to keep them from being bigger dicks.
So what did everyone do in Mass Effect?
>bestowing your divinity equally on not five teenagers with attitude.
I fealt animals would piss the other gods off more.
> Become a god in Forgotten Realms
> Undergo a massive campaign utilizing all the jumpers charisma perks to become the most beloved god, stealing uncountable worshippers from all the other gods and becoming best god
> Unlike the other gods, you are also actually not shit at your job, which helps
> In the end, give all your 60+ Divine Ranks to a random corgi.
> The most powerful god is a corgi.
So I have been reading through Overlord again, and was interested in asking in case anybody here knows the answer; is it possible to train people in class levels based on the YGGDRASIL system? Could I get people like Gazef and Climb up to level 100, and could I take someone from a future jump and teach them in such a way so that they can start to acquire levels of their own?
died
hunted reapers making them into philosopher's stones, gave people Alternatives to Reaper technology, saved civilization from a vicious cycle Of boom and harvest,Tooling around in the LoT Normal Jumper stuff
Lament that it will never get an update.
Followed around Shepard and generally cut through stupid situations.
I also may or may not have detonated a device that destroyed the Reaper Fleet in Dark Space.
Hung out with Shepard mainly. When I wasn't with her for whatever reason, I was researching various forms of melee combat as well as adapting various weapons to mass effect technology.
And then the Reapers showed up and SURPRISE GIANT FLEET OUT OF NOWHERE.
God I love shrinking magic
Shepard.
Jumper.
>her
For that matter, what was Shepard like in you version, Jumpers? Male or female? Paragon or Renegade?
Gazef and Climb should be possible, as Ainz teaches Hamusuke several abilities in the series and he was a native. However, I'm not sure that teaching people outside of that jump would be possible, or at least you wouldn't be able to train up their levels without a power granting ability or something
>bestowing your divinity equally on not five teenagers with attitude.
That sounds like a really fucking terrible idea. Why would you hand over literal godlike power to bitchy teenagers? The FR gods are basically all either edgy teens or spoiled children as it is.
The canon Shepard is male, and there isn't really room for interpretation. He could be Paragon or Renegade depending on your actions in the jump, however, but Paragon is also canon.
Shep-
DAMMIT!
Tali then?
Renegade FemShep best Shep.
yes, so you give it to people who want to change things but lack the means to do so
Asari, mostly.
The version I played as.
Male Shepard, Mindoir survivor, mostly Paragon, but with not a small amount of Renegade. Romanced Tali.
Noooppppeeee.
Still sounds like a terrible idea.
Kind of, but it's weird because I was a bookworm back in the day, so a lot of things I already have an idea of how it works and then I nod and move on...then ten minutes later I've got like fifteen tabs open on the setting, characters of note, key events, and one or two points of random interest. I stick with the fictional side of things because if I go full on, "All the Research" I would never get anywhere.
Every so often though, I do find myself skimming over the general notes of what I should expect in a certain time period IF it's realistic enough.
A recent example of this would be my jump into Otoyomegatari. It started on Thursday, when I had an idea for my Jumper's Origin, next thing I knew I was researching the history of trading routes; 19th Century USA, Europe, India, Japan, China, and Russia; guns-then I had to stop myself there because I had commissions to deal with. So, I kinda go crazy with it.
Introduced the galaxy to Fog Fleet starships wielding technological Belkan and Mid-Childan Magic after taking over the Shadow Broker's network. Ever seen Reapers flipping the metaphorical table and RAEGing out? I have. And it was delicious.
Oh and made sure that there was a Mental Model on each of the Arcs before they left so that they could assist with the Andromeda Initiative.
Just a guy trying to do his job despite the bullshit that politicians put him through.
you realize I am banchô-user right?
So, random question that I've never really thought to ask.
Do Asari actually HAVE genitals? Or is it all Demolition Man brain sex all the time?
Hey, shit jump for a shit setting.
And with their own divine ranks they can do... fuck all to change the situation with the gods. Because Ao says so.
That's when they'll use their newfound divinity to take out their new levels of frustration on mortals or do whatever. Acting just like the other FR gods, edgy teens and spoiled children.
They have belly buttons, which implies they have umbelical cords, which implies they have wombs, which... you see where I'm going with this. They also have breasts, and probably nipples. Actual genitals wouldn't be unreasonable.
Why are pompadours in anime so ridiculous?
>Why are pompadours so ridiculous?
FTFY
>That's when they'll use their newfound divinity to take out their new levels of frustration on mortals or do whatever. Acting just like the other FR gods, edgy teens and spoiled children.
no, you're missing a step, they were my Angry teens, recruited from my followers for having the values that the world could use the most.
>in anime
I think you just answered your own question There.
Pretty sure they do? Melding is considered more intimate than sex, I think. Plus they need a way to actually, y'know, pop the babby Asari out.
Though there's a that fan theory that Asari actually look completely inhuman and are passively brainwashing all races to think they look like blue skinned female versions of their own species. But I don't personally buy that (or particularly care of it's true!)
Honestly, you're kind of a bitch.
What short sentence would describe you perfectly, Jumpers?
>there's a that fan theory
No, that's retarded. Nothing at all to suggest that. There's also the fact that they can only wear human armor.
The theory makes no sense anyway, since Asari statues and pictures look normal. It's literally just founded on one vague in-game conversation by drunks in a bar.
"Screaming or singing moth brings peace and happiness or weirds people out in the process"
Brilliant writeups
Fuck, that's strong.
Sadly, it has a serious following. Youtube vids and all.
>Nothing at all to suggest that
Half the fans consider that the Indoctrination Theory should have been the real ending, that doesn't make it less stupid.
>Daily reminder that some jumps have companion import options that make you related.
>Daily reminder that some jumpers are depraved enough to use these options on their waifu.
Just realized that the Companion Import and Twins options from HTTYD can be stacked. Huh don't know what that says about my subconscious really. Pic Related.
"Local man in blue jacket swears karate vengeance, claims moon is somehow responsible for [local event]."
"That asshole kicked a thief in the face"
...
when the stargods came,everything changed.
Indoctrination Theory is stupid, but it's still leagues better than what we actually got.
It's been 5 years, and I'm still fucking mad
Like I said, I don't buy it. Think it's stupid, personally. But a lot of people believe it.
"And then he died."
...
"Ooh, what does THIS button do?"
Everything's fine, ignore the explosions.
Hamsuke trained day in & day out, managing to edge out maybe a level or two in a warrior class. Enough to allow her to wear armor. However that being said she is a monster and was already a powerful creature in New World being around level 30ish.
Now there does seem to be a hard limit on classes people can gain. Like Climb was able to level up by getting scared to near-death by Sebas (on request). Yet Climb & Brain seem to have a talent for that stuff. Even then they are just mortal humans, so they can only get so far.
I think the most powerful person who was born in the New World is the Half-Elf girl. Her father could be a player and is pretty powerful himself. Her mother was also powerful, about level 30ish probably given that Clementine was around that level.
Worm has Thanatos, which is a summon that additively gains the thematic powers of whatever it defeats.
Feed it a Susanoo, and there you go.
"Local man accidentally causes the apocalypse while trying to seduce eldritch goddess. He was last seen shouting 'IT WAS JUST A PRANK, BRO!'"
I don't blame you. It's the main reason why I'm not getting the new one.
Well, that and the character designs. What the fuck even happened there?
And it all worked out better than expected.
So I just finished watching season two of Infinite Stratos and oh my god does everyone there become retarded over the MC's dick? When I take that Jump I have to do something. Zombie virus, alien/demonic invasion, WWIII, start the Illuminati, just something to make the setting more interesting. Either that or turn the entire IS Academy into bimbo nymphos since they love dick so much.
Would be a great idea. Except the other gods will start bitching to Ao about you being too popular and he'll smack you down to get them to shut up.
"Local man revealed to be alien disguised as man pretending to be woman. Scientists baffled"
>Unlike the other gods, you are also actually not shit at your job,
>Almost every major problem in FR is because the Gods DON'T WANT TO DO THEIR FUCKING JOBS
I loath the deities in FR with the burning passion of a million white hot suns.
Have you considered being a nice person? If the MC is as bad as most harem MCs, having a penis and even the tiniest bit of personality should be enough to get every girl going after you instead of him.
>Local man
>Local man
>Local man
Florida Man's influence is spreading. He is birthing an army of Local Men.
Thank you.
But how local are these men? Isn't it all relative? And where does Area Man figure in all of this?
If you kill a god in Greek Myth, do you take up their mantle?
Has that ever happened in Greek mythology? Actually, has any Greek god actually died?
Some of the Titans died, yes.
In the sense that if you kill a bandit leader you can become the new bandit leader, sure. You don't actually get any powers for it. And the bandits will absolutely decide to just fucking murder your ass if they don't like you enough.
That is actually how the gods came about in greek myth, they kill their parents and take their place. Or they imprison them.
Honestly, this community would be a lot better off without Red.
Titans yes, but did any of the gods themselves die? Like, the closest Zeus came to death (that I'm aware of) was when he fought Typhon, but that ended in Typhon getting his ass handed to him
I'm not sure that Greek Gods can even die. Demigods certainly can, though.
Does it even matter? The Titans are literally the gods, but older. They're the same type of being.
I'm asking because the question was about killing a god and taking their mantle, and I wasn't sure if this is something that actually happened in myth. If it did, though, I would put money on Ares being the one to go out.
