Creation of an evil wizard who was creating a warrior servant race to do his bidding, they rebelled against him, and now wander the lands trying to find their place in the world.

They're the product of a dragon and a human, and come in two varieties. A dragon and a virgin will produce an Alpha Dragonborn, which are fertile and possess numerous draconian features. A dragon and a non-virgin (or an Alpha with an Alpha/human) produce standard Dragonborn, which are tough and bred in bulk but sterile.

They represent low-level administration and the Landsknecht, while dragons are counts, dukes and kings.

Thousands of years ago there once wandered a tribe of humans who feasted on the remains of their enemies. One day they came across a hostile dragon and after several battles they tracked the beast to it's lair and slew it.

Now with the corpse of their great foe before them they performed the ritualistic feast and thanks to both the magic from their ritual and the power of the dragon's blood they were transformed into what are now known as Dragonborn.

They don't reproduce at all. Their made to serve and fight in war. The dragons create them in such a way that only a sow can bare any young, and all others will die fallow within a decade

Current campaign I'm running now has a dragonborn sorcerer. He was supposedly originally human but asked a blue dragon for power. The dragon made him wear part of his skin, turned him into a dragonborn giving him his magic. As a penalty though the dragon also cursed the group that brought him there.

In the current game I'm playing Dragonbirn are from an island which once was a fertile new continent, but when the mountain at its center erupted, the land partially sank and the Dragonborn emerged from the newly formed volcano. After many generations they completely scorched and depleted what was left of the land's wildlife, and many became pirates, capitolising on the trade route between the two main continents which the island sits between. Due to this and the abundance of sea life around the island due to it sinking, dragonborn in this world have a natual proclivity towards water, much like Iguanas in the Galapagos Islands.

They're made by dragons fucking captured pincesses, and often born with the purpose of hunting down and slaying their draconic parent.

So they lay eggs, hatch, and look after the young for a few years until fully grown, but like birds, super fast. But prob not sexually mature.
Example, eagle's young are full size within 3 months, stay with parents till around 4, but not sexually mature until around 7. But live til 60.

There's basically two methods: the natural way & the divine/magical way.

People/Humanoids who worship Dragons devoutly enough can receive (from their dragon god) the at-will miracle/spell to basically polymorph themselves into Dragonborn. Given these peoples religious affiliations in the first place it usually becomes a permanent change, but this isn't always case.

Dragon Born can lay eggs that hatch into kobolds- yes, kobolds: kobolds will physically and mentally develop into Dragonborn; provided they can live past the age of 30 to really "peek". Kobolds will also lay eggs that hatch into kobolds, obviously.
Unfertilized Dragon Eggs will also hatch into kobolds: a dragon egg can potentially hatch 3-5 kobold pups given how large they are and how small kobold puppies are.
Combine this with the fact that Dragons lay clutches in the 100's (like alligators) you can easily understand why there's never any shortage of Kobolds in the world.

Dragonborn are, depending on edition, either the willingly transmuted warriors of a dragon god of paladins or a natural race created ages ago by dragons or dragon gods, like humans and other races were created by their gods.

Dragonkin are variously: a monster race of 8 ft tall dragon people who look very much like dragonborn from Faerun in 3e (and who became dragonborn in 4e and 5e); a race of lesser dragon that forms bonds with certain riders in PF (and who hail from notVenus), or the name for any number of dragon races from other systems or third party splats.

Half dragons are the result of a dragon mating with a creature, a dragon based artifact altering a pregnancy, or powerful magic doing the same. Their draconic ancestry is rather immediate and not something from a few hundred centuries ago.

Those are draconians not dragonborn. They resulted from terrible magics used on dragon eggs to corrupt them into a humanoid shape, making them severely deformed dragons. This deformity results in them basically exploding in a magical way upon death.

As to the thread, dragonborn are made by a mommy dragonborn and a daddy dragonborn doing the horizontal mambo with each other resulting in mommy getting pregnant. She then gestates an egg for several months before laying it a few weeks before hatching time. The egg hardens within a few hours while the newborn dragonborn finishes development over the next few weeks. It then hatches and begins nursing like any other non-reptile humanoid race.

they're seen as dragon-human hybrids and hybrids tend to be sterile. If Dragonborn were sold as some sort of evolutionary offshoot of dragons or lizardmen that happen to be humanoid/dragonoid it'd be less of an issue.

Davo bite me my homebrew are the result of generations of mountain barbarians hunting and eating dragons. It has deformed them to the point that gender is boils down to "that one lays eggs" and "that one fertilizes them". Apart from that, they're all bulky lizardmen eager to rip and tear.

Lizardmen aren't evolved lizards, but the creation of Semuanya, lizardfolk god of survival. Dragonborn are creations of Io/Bahamut/some other dragon god. Humans are the creation of a huge variety of different gods depending on setting.

Pretty simply. Males and females, have sex. Female lays eggs a few weeks later, which hatch after about a year. Both Lizardfolk and Kobolds, who exist as sort of altered Dragonborn in the setting, do it similarly though their eggs hatch and the hatchlings mature quicker.
Also, Dragons didn't create them, the Dragonborn created the Dragons. They're only called Dragonborn cause an Elvish scholar misread a tablet and the name stuck
