Quick question how are your dragonborn made

Quick question how are your dragonborn made
and how do they reproduce?

They have sex.

yea but like live young or eggs

They are made by a dragon god and reproduce like whatever race they are.

Successive generations after a dragon god attempted to control the power of creation, tearing his soul to bits. Hence thriceborn, quarterling is another name for kobold.

After the fourth wave those with incomplete souls mated and produced true souled offspring. These generations are what survived while those that had either eaten or rejected those they were soulbound with created the religion of convergence to try and resurrect the all father.

ovipositors, mostly used on orcs.

They were made when Ao decided to show the other gods the basics of making a sapient race and sorta abandoned.

They reproduce sexually, laying eggs in large clutches at a time but only some individuals reproduce. Its generally speaking the older, more experienced dragonborn whom reproduce, taking the idea that those whom survive the longest have the best genes to pass on.

They lay eggs, hatch toothless and breastfeed until they grow in.

eggs, same for lizardfolk. Dragonborn are to lizardfolk in my setting what high elves are to humans or orcs, depending on the strain of lizardfolk.

Depends on the edition
3.0/3,5: They're made in a ritual, something something year long hibernation inside of a giant egg.
4e/5e: Born from eggs and raised to adulthood by their parents, generally.

Creation of an evil wizard who was creating a warrior servant race to do his bidding, they rebelled against him, and now wander the lands trying to find their place in the world.

They're the product of a dragon and a human, and come in two varieties. A dragon and a virgin will produce an Alpha Dragonborn, which are fertile and possess numerous draconian features. A dragon and a non-virgin (or an Alpha with an Alpha/human) produce standard Dragonborn, which are tough and bred in bulk but sterile.

They represent low-level administration and the Landsknecht, while dragons are counts, dukes and kings.

Thousands of years ago there once wandered a tribe of humans who feasted on the remains of their enemies. One day they came across a hostile dragon and after several battles they tracked the beast to it's lair and slew it.

Now with the corpse of their great foe before them they performed the ritualistic feast and thanks to both the magic from their ritual and the power of the dragon's blood they were transformed into what are now known as Dragonborn.

They don't reproduce at all. Their made to serve and fight in war. The dragons create them in such a way that only a sow can bare any young, and all others will die fallow within a decade

they don't.

Current campaign I'm running now has a dragonborn sorcerer. He was supposedly originally human but asked a blue dragon for power. The dragon made him wear part of his skin, turned him into a dragonborn giving him his magic. As a penalty though the dragon also cursed the group that brought him there.

Well, you see, billy, when a knight loves a dragon very much...

I ruled that my Dragonborns look more Argonian and my group has taken it pretty well.

basically they fucky fuck

They're an all-male species that inflict human men with mpreg eggs.

Their mating ritual involves fading to black, and then a time skip to wyrmling hunting town cats.

Sapient dragonoids descended from intelligent feathered lizards. They're distant cousins to feathered serpents, and (technically, though distantly) to all other reptilian and dragonoid species.

They are to Kobolds what Humans are to Bonobos and Chimpanzees.

They reproduce sexually, and lay eggs in clutches. It's tradition to offer first-laid to the resident worshiped dragon, or the nobility as proxy, to be raised as servants or warriors.

Chimpanzees are more like the Drakes- unintelligent but still unmistakably draconic. Dragons and Kobolds are like Humans and Marmosets: Tinier, cuter, and very distant but still in the same family.

Chimps are intelligent though

I refluffed them as fetish dragon girls so they're mammals now.

They breed true, but a humanoid can become one, and those are mules.

So what's the difference between dragonborn, dragonkin and half dragons?

They're born... from dragons.

Don't know, the Dark Souls 3 wiki doesn't offer info on that.

You sow dragon teeth in the ground like you would seeds, and they spring up out of the ground, full grown and everything.

They don't, they're all infertile worker drones born from an adult queen dragon. Like bees but with scales

In the current game I'm playing Dragonbirn are from an island which once was a fertile new continent, but when the mountain at its center erupted, the land partially sank and the Dragonborn emerged from the newly formed volcano. After many generations they completely scorched and depleted what was left of the land's wildlife, and many became pirates, capitolising on the trade route between the two main continents which the island sits between. Due to this and the abundance of sea life around the island due to it sinking, dragonborn in this world have a natual proclivity towards water, much like Iguanas in the Galapagos Islands.

They're made by dragons fucking captured pincesses, and often born with the purpose of hunting down and slaying their draconic parent.
Thus the old rhyme, "ransom or food be ever good, but if you lay, it's yourself you slay."

Dragonborn themselves are mules.

They aren't made and don't reproduce because I'm not a furry.

Dragonborn are an artifical creation from beings in transmutational egg sacs.

Dragonkin aren't a thing.

Half-dragons are mutants or have direct draconic patronage.

The influence of a dragon's blood is strong. Dragon sorcerers are physically mutated by their heritage, half-dragon templates physically change the monster/person.

Created by dragons as golems but Tiamat gave them free will to vex Bahamut and gender to enable her lewd fantasies

Dragonborn?
You mean half dragons?
You know, the spawn between humanoids and dragons.

No, he means humans who were given draconic traits, which they passed on to their children.

Dragonborn as basically like older edition tieflings:
>Dragons fuck non-dragons and creation half dragons
>This actually happened enough that half dragons bred with not-half-dragons
>The quarter-dragons were enough to start to come together and interbreed with one another
>Cue a lot of generations of watering down and strengthening the draconic bloodline
>Eventually you have dragonborn which end up at some odd middle point.

This thread has convinced me that no one actually read any Dragonborn lore since 3rd edition.

Which is sad because 4th edition Dragonborn were pretty rad, and 5th edition Dragonborn are just watered down 4th edition Dragonborn.

Well, I read the 5th edition, never had a chance to with 4th edition, and admittedly, the way the OP is worded it feels like it's meant to be asking 'what's you'r original donut steel version?'

I tried to choose a sort of more 'naturalistic' approach.

Warm blooded reptiles like dinosaurs/ancient birds
So they lay eggs, hatch, and look after the young for a few years until fully grown, but like birds, super fast. But prob not sexually mature.
Example, eagle's young are full size within 3 months, stay with parents till around 4, but not sexually mature until around 7. But live til 60.

Half dragons?
Humanoids who inherited their traits from their draconian ancestors?

Humans that were baptized in the blood of the dragon god.

When a Dragon and a Chivalrous Knight love each other very much, the Dragon will kidnap a Princess. And the Knight will spend a long weekend "battling" the dragon in order to "save" the princess.

It's ambiguous. They apparently hatch from eggs, but it's considered offensive to even ask, so it's all up in the air.

I liked them in the Dragonlance novels.
>Whole race was created using stolen eggs and magic as shock troopers for an evil empire.
>Most died in the wars, but a few groups live relatively peaceful lives in remote places
>Wizards created only males to control the population
>There are rumors of female eggs, kept persevered by magic, and secreted away to be possibly used if the evil empire would have won.

They're mammals.

>Quick question how are your dragonborn made
>and how do they reproduce?

Sure.

There's basically two methods: the natural way & the divine/magical way.

>Divine Way
People/Humanoids who worship Dragons devoutly enough can receive (from their dragon god) the at-will miracle/spell to basically polymorph themselves into Dragonborn. Given these peoples religious affiliations in the first place it usually becomes a permanent change, but this isn't always case.

>Natural Way
Dragon Born can lay eggs that hatch into kobolds- yes, kobolds: kobolds will physically and mentally develop into Dragonborn; provided they can live past the age of 30 to really "peek". Kobolds will also lay eggs that hatch into kobolds, obviously.
Unfertilized Dragon Eggs will also hatch into kobolds: a dragon egg can potentially hatch 3-5 kobold pups given how large they are and how small kobold puppies are.
Combine this with the fact that Dragons lay clutches in the 100's (like alligators) you can easily understand why there's never any shortage of Kobolds in the world.

>how are your dragonborn made
Sometimes someone has a few too many to drink and is a little too adventurous and explores a few too many wrong caves.
>and how do they reproduce?
They can't, they're sterile. Which tends to make them very, very grouchy.

Dragonborn are, depending on edition, either the willingly transmuted warriors of a dragon god of paladins or a natural race created ages ago by dragons or dragon gods, like humans and other races were created by their gods.

Dragonkin are variously: a monster race of 8 ft tall dragon people who look very much like dragonborn from Faerun in 3e (and who became dragonborn in 4e and 5e); a race of lesser dragon that forms bonds with certain riders in PF (and who hail from notVenus), or the name for any number of dragon races from other systems or third party splats.

Half dragons are the result of a dragon mating with a creature, a dragon based artifact altering a pregnancy, or powerful magic doing the same. Their draconic ancestry is rather immediate and not something from a few hundred centuries ago.

Those are draconians not dragonborn. They resulted from terrible magics used on dragon eggs to corrupt them into a humanoid shape, making them severely deformed dragons. This deformity results in them basically exploding in a magical way upon death.

As to the thread, dragonborn are made by a mommy dragonborn and a daddy dragonborn doing the horizontal mambo with each other resulting in mommy getting pregnant. She then gestates an egg for several months before laying it a few weeks before hatching time. The egg hardens within a few hours while the newborn dragonborn finishes development over the next few weeks. It then hatches and begins nursing like any other non-reptile humanoid race.

Each of the first dragons made a brood as part of some big game, later realized they were a useful servant race.

They're mammals and have live spawn. Kobolds are the actual reptiles of the pair.

They don't. I only have kobolds as 'dragon larvae' and half-dragons as people whose soul could be 'awakened' because it reincarnated from a dragon soul.

Why do so many anons have issue with dragonborn as a true breeding race?

they're seen as dragon-human hybrids and hybrids tend to be sterile. If Dragonborn were sold as some sort of evolutionary offshoot of dragons or lizardmen that happen to be humanoid/dragonoid it'd be less of an issue.

They wake up in ancient containers in some old ruins.
They don't.

They have been a dragon offshoot since 4e.
What perplexes me even further isit seems kobolds are more quickly accepted than dragonborn. Kobolds, the midget rat-dog men with delusions of dragonhood are more acceptable to fa/tg/uys. Really?

Davo bite me my homebrew are the result of generations of mountain barbarians hunting and eating dragons. It has deformed them to the point that gender is boils down to "that one lays eggs" and "that one fertilizes them". Apart from that, they're all bulky lizardmen eager to rip and tear.

Because you can cutify/fetishize them.

Kobolds are titless, ugly, physically weak midgets with short lifespans, no real draconic powers and little draconinc appearance

Very unlikely to be power fantasies or erotic fantasies, the only fetishists the are likely to appeal to are subs and vorefags.

Then those anons are stupid. Literally fucking stupid. There is literally no race in D&D that evolved naturally. All of them are the creations of gods or other such things. In fact pretty much all life is such. And the fluff has stated them as natural creatures who come from other dragonborn naturally like humans, and elves, and all the other races "naturally" occur.

Lizardmen aren't evolved lizards, but the creation of Semuanya, lizardfolk god of survival. Dragonborn are creations of Io/Bahamut/some other dragon god. Humans are the creation of a huge variety of different gods depending on setting.

What this is is newfags and idiots who have never read the books, and likely don't even fucking play, repeating stupid shit they've heard here from idiots and morons.

And this evolution shit needs to fucking stop. Not every setting needs to adhere to the shitty high school biology lessons the various anons here learned.

Asexual, but may enter an incredibly long period of hibernation to have an egg. The egg requires tending to, and once hatched the child takes decades to grow. Makes for some interesting hooks.

Former mutation long time ago by idiots who thought drinking magic infused dragon blood would turn them into Dragons. From there it was just Jeff Goldblum. There are some crazies who still think the whole dragon blood drinking was a good idea though.

And how is your game of Dark Sun going lately, user?

Pretty simply. Males and females, have sex. Female lays eggs a few weeks later, which hatch after about a year. Both Lizardfolk and Kobolds, who exist as sort of altered Dragonborn in the setting, do it similarly though their eggs hatch and the hatchlings mature quicker.
Also, Dragons didn't create them, the Dragonborn created the Dragons. They're only called Dragonborn cause an Elvish scholar misread a tablet and the name stuck

Personally, I blame Seath

Have you *seen* the Kobold threads on this board?

Yes, cutebolds take away any threatening status they might have and compiles stupidity on top of the other flaws.

you choose to become a dragonborn. you make prayers to tiamat or bahamut and an offering. then you undergo a ritual where your offering becomes an egg around you. you remain inside it fro 2d3 months while it changes your body

Taking regular, non-sapient reptiles and putting them in magic pools, where they mutate into magical, sapient, sterile/genderless reptiles that walk upright on two legs.

I think he means there's lots of preverts who would a kobold. Though that's probably just Veeky Forums being Veeky Forums.
