>Roboute Guilliman awakens. >instead of fixing the Imperium he adopts the status quo >He says it's an age of war and darkness so knowledge has no place in it. He then closes the great library of his homeworld and bars any from entering under pain of death >He embraces the Imperial church and allows them to declare him divine
This basically confirmed that Girlyman is worset boy. All hopes of restoring the Imperial Truth and the Emperor's empire of reason and progress are dashed to the dust. If the Emperor was awake he would curse him for his foolishness and treachery.
Anyways, It's Rise of the Primarch fluff thread. I am gonna post all the new interesting lore from the book.
Robot is a pragmatist. As much as we all hoped for that kind of shakeup, we also all acknowledged it would have torn the Imperium apart and possibly destroyed it.
Dylan Perez
Did you really expect something different?

Huron rewarded Huron for his rebellion against the Imperium by gifting him a Blackstone Fortress. With this gift Huron swore loyalty to Abaddon.
How the hell did Abaddon transport a Blackstone Fortress to the Maelstorm to congratulate Huron on his treachery?

It looks that the galactic ork teleport technology hinted in the Ghazzy supplement is a thing now. Ghaz is striking at the Imperium from more than one place. His Waaaaagh! is reported to have 5 million ships and more besides.
The Ork threat has never been greater. Truly, these are the End Times!

He also knew that Emperor was douchebag, Guilliman said he failed his sons and Imperium.

Huron's own crusade has smashed across the homeworld of the White Scars. They are beset and outnumbered. They await Kor'sarro Khan's return from Damocles. It's a dire situation for the sons of the Great Khan. Truly, these are the End Times!

As man and Ork battle each other on the bloody fields of Armageddon, a massive Warp breach has ignited in the south pole of the planet. Could it be that Angron has returned?!
Yvarine has told the Eldar to ally and work alongside the Necrons. Alas, the hatred of the Eldar was too great.
As the Necrons ignored the Eldar and focused on defending the planet from the daemons, the Eldar opened fire on them. Now any chance of the Eldar and Necrons working together to defend the Pylons on that world is lost. The Eldar are surrounded by both Necrons and daemons.
It looks that the Eldar will be destroyed before reinforcements arrive. Another set of pylons will be destroyed and another nail in the coffin of the galaxy will be hammered in.
Truly, these are the End TOIMS

He should have sent message to her new BF.

This. Guilliman isn't the Knights Inductor or Space Wolves, he can't get away with purposely converting sisters of battle to Atheism or killing Grey Knight grandmasters in cold blood without anyone caring.

Can you guys imagine how Necron and Eldar negotiations would be like? The Eldar can't play "we're older and wiser than you, you primitives" card with the Necrons.

>The ever-growing flood of astropathic distress calls reaching Terra supported the Primarch’s warnings. Cadia had been only the beginning. From the ravaged Fenris Sector and Ork-infested Armageddon, to the systems of Attila and Balor – all felt the grasping claws of Chaos. New Warp rifts were splitting the void in terrifying number, while existing phenomena roiled outwards like the pyroclastic clouds of volcanic eruptions. Witch-lights swam between the stars, and monstrous things moved behind the veil of reality, all gnashing fangs and glaring eyes.
>Whole sectors of the Imperium were going dark, while others reported the onslaught of rabid greenskin hordes, aggressive Tau fleets or deathless Necron hosts, seemingly driven to conquest in the face of the expanding storm fronts. Heretic cults and rogue psykers rose up in their billions, and every Imperial world seemed set to burn in the fires of galactic war.
>For all these disturbing omens and disastrous losses, Guilliman urged Humanity’s leaders not to give up hope. The Emperor of the Imperium was not blind to their plight, and neither was its Lord Commander.
>New armies would be raised, in breathtaking numbers. From Belisarius Cawl’s forges on Mars, Guilliman planned to bring forth new and terrible weapons whose fury even the worshippers of the Chaos Gods would be unable to withstand. Fresh fleets would be built, grand war engines consecrated in the Emperor’s holy name. The manufactorums would labour like never before, and every single servant of the Emperor would do their part. The Imperium faced total war on a galactic scale; with Warp storms spreading and intensifying, no world was safe. Yet Humanity would not drown in this tide of warfare, but instead would ride upon the crest of a bloody wave to triumph against the darkness.
Ryder Ross
Warpstorms block out the Astronomicon all the time, it's a rare freak occurrence that often leads to the Navigators fucking up, this isn't anything new. It might, however, be an implication (quite rightfully) that these formerly rare events are increasing in number.
Luke James
>Can you guys imagine how Necron and Eldar negotiations would be like?

A complete lie, it is obvious that the giant reality devouring chaos terror was merely blocking the view.
Now THAT is a sexy heresy.
Jack Hill
>Roboute Guilliman vowed that he would not cower behind Terra’s walls and wait for Mankind’s oppressors to bring death to his door. He would stride out amongst the stars and meet the enemy in the Emperor’s name, as he always had. The Imperium would unite as one in the face of mutual annihilation, and take the battle to the mutant, the traitor, the alien and the heretic. So commanded Roboute Guilliman and thus, even as the Warp storms raged and the Astronomican itself strove to pierce their ever-blackening clouds, vast armies and armadas were raised in numbers not seen since the Great Crusade. A dark new age called from amidst the fires of endless war, and the Imperium would answer.
-The Ending
End Times? No. This not the end. This the beginning of a new age. The Age of Guilliman, Lord Commander of the Imperium of Man.
Ian Powell
Its just Tuska and his boyz joining back up.
Aiden Hill
I both do and do not like this turn of events, but I suppose it's nice things are moving forward in some measure.
The Imperial Truth was a total sham though. Gods and souls aren't real? They totally are. Daemons don't exist? Not only do they but they really will offer you riches and power in return for souls. The rational and empirical is all that exists? Tzeentch says hi.
Even his plan to starve the gods of worship, while inconvenient, wouldn't have killed them. The Chaos Gods run on raw emotion, worship is just a gratifying bonus. Every warrior to ever lift a sword has praised Khorne, etc.
So yeah, Imperial Truth was a lie all the time. Judging by Celestine's constant reviving from death, the Imperial Cult may well be closer to reality at this point than the Emperor's Imperium ever was.
Adam Robinson
Fuck this Age of Sigmar shit.

Farscape invades the Tau Empire and eats the Ethereals, gaining their immortality and Tau control, then leads the Tau Empire on a path to conquer the Eye of Terror in the name of Chaos.
Owen Gomez
My only solace is that Sanguinius is dead and cannot be tainted by this shit.

Galactic domination and all either dead or under the Greater Good, because clearly their way is the only right way and clearly they'll be the ones to bring order to the galactic Chaos.
Tau are legitimately just pseudostereotyped sci-fi aggressive expansionists when compared to most settings.

Then who is the Golden Warrior that will fight off the Tyranids and daemons long enough to allow the Emperor to be reborn?
Dominic Ward
Given that fucking Celestine had to whine to Roubute to have the Cult declare him some saint in name only, I highly doubt things are that black and white.
Imperial Truth was about defying gods and kicking them out of our realm, not sucking their dick like Abby the Handless.
Lincoln Phillips
>Commander Gundam is going to pull a Lelouch.
This makes me feel things.
Joshua Bennett
>Given that fucking Celestine had to whine to Roubute to have the Cult declare him some saint in name only Eh? I'm just getting back into the game, what happened here? Did Roubute want to be declared a Saint and Celestine negotiated him down to name only? Did she want to declare him a saint and he negotiated it down to name only? What's this then?
Jonathan Brooks
>not sucking their dick like Abby the Handless.
Actually, Abaddon doesn't worship or suck their warp dicks. He sees himself as their equal partner.
This is a major point of conflict between him and those faithful to the Chaos Gods like Kharn and Erebus.
Alexander Campbell
Mankind is Calaf. Turandot is victory and survival for order against the forces of Khaos. At the end of the darkness of night and warpstorms, Mankind is victorious.
Connor Mitchell
Jaghatai is dead though.

The church came to Girlyman to offer their services and reverence.
Greyfax and Celestine convinced Girlyman to allow the church to say he is divine because having the church as an enemy is a bad idea.

Celestine (and Greyfax) pointed out that the Ecclesiarchy is hella powerful and they want to worship him, and it was better to accept it instead of pointlessly making enemies. Unlike his dad with Lorgar, Guilliman was smart enough not to shit all over them for no reason.
The Imperial Truth declared that gods and daemons were nonexistant superstitions. That's why the Imps are constantly surprised by Warp fuckery in HH. Not even the Primarchs knew about Chaos. It was a total lie.
Owen Foster
Sebastian Thor wouldn't have put up with it.

What if... there's another option.
Games Workshop can't trademark "Space Marine". They've tried in the past, and they've thrown legal threats around, but it's never stuck. They've phased in "Adeptus Astartes" over the years, but now...
Now they can start fresh. Fresh, and fully controlled. An intellectual property that's entirely their own, free from disputes or the murky, more fun but less profit-driven past.
These new creatures are the embodiment of all that Games Workshop wishes to become.
It's the same tactic they used with Warhammer Fantasy. Anything generic was excised and replaced with custom, internally grown creations, dependent on nothing but Games Workshop artists and Games Workshop writers. Inspiration might lead to contamination. Art of models that GW doesn't make might lead to knock-offs and brand dilution and third-party sites.
So start fresh. Rewrite it all, from the ground up, and make it ironclad and impossible to challenge. It doesn't matter that the things that made the setting great weren't invented by GW at all. It doesn't matter that the art is becoming blander, the designs safer, the writing staler. The stakes have never been higher... and, yet, somehow, they've never felt lower.
John Cooper
