I ordered some mantic undead. These looked neat so I got em. Do you think if I made em hover a bit higher and put them on cavalry bases they would work as hex wraiths?

Alternatively put two on a cavalry base.

Other than cairne wraith what could they be?

I find the lack of trihorns disgusting

>Do you think if I made em hover a bit higher and put them on cavalry bases they would work as hex wraiths?

Yeah. As they are they are too small for proxying a cavalry model, but if you play with the bases it should go well.

It looks like shit. No dignity whatsoever.

...

Is that a squat model?

The fuck is that on his shoulder?

>Hurf durf, more Stormcast vs Bloodbound!

I'm fucking done, holy shit, with a name like Underworlds Shadespire I'd have hoped we'd at least get some re-packaged skellies in a Shyish/Death themed game.

It's called a pauldron. Look into it.

What are some colours you'd like to see Troggoths in?
I'm thinking of purples and oranges so far but I want to do a really diverse load of colours.

Think of a water-rlated enviroment they could be in like a swamp, oasis, jungle river etc and give me some colours that you'd think Troggoths from there look like.

You know what I mean, it's different to other Stormcast Pauldrons and doesn't look like a lion or something.

What the fuck is this shit?

THESE MOTHER FUCKERS ARE AWESOME. WHY ARE THEY ALL OF A SUDDEN RELEASING SO MUCH GREAT SHIT MY WALLET CANT TAKE ITTTTTTT

I had just assumed it was badly drawn. I mean, the beast pauldrons on my SC also look a little wonky.

That art looks disgustingly bad, my hype has gone down to 0

>...while my wallet gently weeps...

It's better than most AoS art.

Possibly a non-WarhammerWorld-exclusive Errant-Questor? That'd be pretty dope.

If I were to make exotic trolls, then i'd do something with the scales and imagine a kind of exotic fish.

Like bright orange scales, with the skin having different hues of teal and the leathery ear bits, eyes and perhaps claws or horns have some popping color like dark red or deep purple with a strong edge highlight.

Example of a palette would be.

So, are skaven playable? Should I convert all my clanrats into stormvermin to save myself from having to buy another 100 of them?

Also:
>What is your dream conversion/kitbash?

>Stormcast vs Bloodbound

STOP

t. Stormcast player

Why is everyone in Warhammer AoS a Mexican wrestler nowadays? Are they all looking for alternative work for when the wall gets built?

My waaagh energy is crackling at the idea of modelling a slingshot to launch savage orruks onto those airships.

Imagine Apocalypse Now, except it's steampunk skydwarves vs greenskins.

I've seen some awesome Trolls painted using metallics and blue/green washes. Think they were on the FUUK forums a while back.

Looks sort of like a goblin or something.

>Squats return before Tomb Kings
Wat.

Why didn't you post old Tin Tophat Thompson as your image user? It highlights age of Sigmars rampant nonsense much better, though I'll admit this is also a terrible miniature.

Fuck Apocalypse Now, make it El Dorado. Dwarves hear about a city of gold in the Realm of Life, and have to make it through the jungle. Fill the greenskin army with all manners of monsters too.

>savage orcs
>building slingshots

nigga you're doing it wrong: throwing shit is the job of monstrous trolls and giants; while reaching far heights alone is what hoppa boyz are for

youtube.com/watch?v=F3CB0jvdNb0

>I hate fun

>pole-vaulting orcs assaulting airships

oh my god this is amazing

The tophat is fucking embarrassing. I wouldn't want that mini in my house.

Perfect.

Thanks for bumping the thread twice

strawpoll.me/12539235

What do you think of the new Duardin models?

>The tophat is fucking amazing. And look at that gun mustache!
FTFY

told ya, grot

for extra jumpiness have the wyrdboys incise runik symbols of springin on the poles, the boyz carry with them pet coiling snake-squigs and have the eventual madboy cover the tip of the spear or himself in highly reactivate fungi

Honestly I do think GW has ventured too far into the technological side of things with these guys. Too many of them look like honest-to-god Squats that walked straight out of 40k instead of Dwarfs with fancy powder and steam contraptions.

Going to be pinching some of those rotary guns though, I bet they'll make excellent Ratling Guns with a bit of work.

This release aint half bad, the ships are lovely, but that fucking tophat... I try really hard to like AoS, I honestly do, but stuff like this makes me weep for the Old World.

Some of us are above the age of 13.

Got my first AoS tutorial game at the GW tomorrow, suddenly worried they're going to expect me to bring my own models to what is supposed to be an introductory game and laugh me out the door

They'll have models for you to use, don't worry.

Chill, they provide that shit.

And other are above the age of 17 so no longer have a need to look cool.

>some orcs show up with springy shoes

>i only play mature games for a mature gamer such as myself.......

Not that user, but does it not make your cringe, even a little bit though? The flight suit guys are really nicely designed, but Mr Tophelmet doesn't seem to match the aesthetic they've tried to build in the slightest.

Even as a grognard I'll admit that the airships are kind of neat.

But a guy with a literal steam-powered top hat, monocle and handlebar moustache with built-in guns? That's just laughably bad.
Different guy by the way.

He's a character, he's allowed to look different.

Nah, because Fantasy, AoS and 40k always have stupid shit.

If I want to be mature or respected, I would have thrown my toy army into the trash.

I think that even without the tophat he is an eyesore.

Not him, but why not? He has a top hat welded onto his helmet. By the other standards, such as the armored parrot or the beards of metal that is fairly benign.
The only thing that bothers me about that design is the chainfist. That thing does look out of place.

Eh, different strokes and all that, I guess. I still have a soft spot for steampunk, so I guess I tolerate an armored tophat easier than others.

No fun allowed in my ultra-serious game !!!

I'm not saying it's wackier than anything else, if they were all Victorian Steampunk then I'd buy the look. It's more that it seems out of place in the Dwarven/Pirate/WW1-Aviator look they've got going.

Not hating on AoS, I just think it stands out as a bit odd.

FUCK YOU. That model literally gives me erections. You are garbage.

Fun is a filthy parasite.

Well I'd've preferred him with a bowler.

Joke aside, it's a fun optional part.

Oh, agreed on that. He does stand out, no doubt, I just think he does so in a good way (again, bar the chainfist). A unique character in fact *should* stand out, I'd say.

Why is geedubs making everything gold?
I don't want me army to be associated with Borecast Eternals. AKA Snorecast Eternals.

I kinda agree. I want more steam engine looking shit on them.

...I kinda want that now. Couple of dwarves wearing armored bowlers.

Fun's been a part of Warhammer since it's origins, but for the most part it's kept a well thought through design aesthetic. Each model draws upon its race's themes and motifs and that gives a unified look to the army as a whole. Maybe they'll go with a full blown, cliched victorianpunk look in the end with these guys, but at the moment this character looks weirdly out of place.

Your nose grew so much that it went out of my computer's screen and impaled my room-mate's skull. He was in another city.

>two snappy plays on Stormcast Eternals
You're on fire today, user! Keep it up!

...

Apologies, the release is really fucking bad.

Samecast Eternals

The thing is that GW doesn't care for an aesthetic (or technological) coherence and just mashes in whatever looks cool. I think it's ok, because the fluff is so weak. So if I have to do the fluff work myself, the minis better be great. I can understand when people who care for the AoS fluff think certain things look weord though. Even I can't get over the fact how the new SCE guns look liike Bolters. It's really obvious that GW wants to sell marines. The SCE fag in my group loves them though, so I guess GW did the right thing...

Now you just impalled my third and last room mate. Next time you're going to say you've got a girlfriend user?

It's most likely a seperate bit that takes a second to replace if you have other dorf kits. If it isn't it takes maybe two minutes to seperate the head and replace it. Why does this bother you so much?

>Alright listen to me you inbred tree fuckers
>If you come any closer with that empty, used urinal you call a head, I'm going to bury my metal shoe up your booty so deep that you'll start tasting steel
>Then going to take that dildo you call a nose & shove it in your eyeholes
>I'm going blast you with my fucking beard
>Then I'm going to build you a pair of giant balloons & use surgically precision to sew onto your groin where your manhood ought to be so I can ram your flying faggot face out of the skies with my iron fucking airship, you twat

those pauldrons lol

>The only thing that bothers me about that design is the chainfist.
I thought it might just be a well made serrated blade. It doesn't look like it would function if it was a chainfist.

Yeah that's fair, I can see the appeal. I think I've been so put off of Steampunk in the past 10 years that my knee-jerk reaction is to spit tea at the sight of it.

The Ships I'm sure we can agree are things of beauty.

...

They're bronze. Any real modeller would be able to tell the difference.

Well, she lives in Canada but...

Guys three words.
Balloon men army.

AFUCKINGLEAF?!?!? Disgusting

These aren't gold, you fucking mongoloid. They're brass, copper or bronze.

Like everything else steampunk.

That... actually is better...

I...this...hmm. Not bad.
I'll keep this in mind for reference.

Canadian girlfriend joke is lost on user.

If he's a must take then this is the conversion I'll be doing to make him passable.... Is it wrong that I sort of like him now?

WHERE IS MY FUCKING NEW DEATH ARMY?

I never understood why things like body armour and weaponry is bronze/copper with steampunk-type designs. Personally I don't think it looks that great; everything kind of drowns in a sea of metallic yellow and stops the detail from popping out that much.

...
It's Axeton Churchilt

>you want death
>i give you death
>in the form of balloon dwarfs

>The Ships I'm sure we can agree are things of beauty.
Man, big time. I can't wait to get my hands on those.
One Ironclad with two frigates and a couple of gunhaulers as an escort will be my first stop.

>just bought stormcast army
>new dwarves
my poor wallet

should I sell the stormcast

...alright. That works.

>Have skeleington
>Wanting anything other than skeleingtons
What could they add?
Vampires are gay
Ghoulish things are gay
Spooky ghosts are gay
You have bone giants, skullapults, grave guard, skeleknights, wight kings, and skelearchers.
The only death army worth having (deathrattle) is done.

I wanno loot for for my Flash Git freebooters, should work well as a warkopta.

And considering the price of the FW kopta it's not even that big an expense.

Giant necromantic constructs.

Fuck you, man. This has no business looking as good as it does.

>That little flying stem
looks fragile

Because steampunk is based around steam power, and copper having both superior malleability and heat dissipation was the superior metal for steam works. Think you're copper heat sink (aluminium isn't really a large force yet). Brass while similar to copper is a littler worse by more resistant to corrosion and oxidation making it the hardier material for harsh environments (air ships).
