Fa/tg/uys make a setting

> Gods don't exist/aren't present in the world, instead people worship either powerful elemental beings (working off the Chinese version of the elements, including metal and wood), nature spirits/fey and what would be called demons. All these creatures are offspring of the being who created the world, who supposedly sleeps in some hidden place to recover his power. Whether or not he should be awoken is a bone of contention.

Tucked away in a far corner of the world a multi-climate large continent exists in a state of elemental imbalance, leading to the possibility of incredible feats thought impossible elsewhere.

Most magic comes from elemental, fey, or demonic bloodlines, or pacts with elemental, fey, or demonic entities. The rest comes from runic tools, armor, and weapons.

Instead of physically manifesting, a few of these beings have chosen to incarnate themselves within the bloodlines of certain people, forming powerful empires ruled by wizard-kings.

Humans don't exist in this world, instead, Ominaes are the most widespread race, due to their comparitively short lives and rapid reproduction rate. Most ominaes are primitive, barely into the bronze age. A few have managed to discover and master ironworking.

Ominaes are similar to humans the of our world, but have several key differences. Universal ambidexterity, quicker reaction times, and a vague ability to sense the metaphysical are examples of Ominae racial traits.

Ominaes have smaller lungs and generally sweat less than humans, meaning their endurance is lower in comparison. They also have a more advanced sense of taste and smell, which leads to spices and good-smelling things being very popular among Ominaes.

Niggers are a subrace of orc. Hobgoblins receive more status than niggers in human societies.

Jk gods exist in this world and are bitching

>Shitposting ignored

Ominae tribes typically venerate one particular elemental/fey/demon or a small group of them. They serve as the tribe's patron and protector, keeping less friendly spirits away and helping destroy powerful monsters through the use of pacts or even siring children.
Runes are a mysterious language, supposedly the language used by God to create the world and his children. The elementals/demons/fey dislike them because certain runes can strip them of their power or even kill them permanently. As such, most forbide their tribes from using runes and the only Ominaes that do use them are outcasts or from tribes that have no protector entity.

This continet is called Wuvin and is regarded as the first place ever created. Other lands are said to exist, but not even the spirits are sure.
The natural magic of the land leads to the natural formation of runes (trees growing in certain patterns, animals bearing unexpected birthmarks, etc) that can hinder or help those in the surrounding area.

Since you used my post from another one of these things, I can hope this goes well. Also, the nature spirits are more wild hunt then tree huggers and the demons are more hedonistic then destructive.

OP here, it was a good idea and it would be a travesty to let it go to waste.

Most large animals are indectoid or reptillian in nature, large mammals are much less common, and avian creatures fill the niche most small mammals do in our world.

There is a very long but thin crescent shaped continent in the turbulent southeastern seas of the world. The crescent is dry, arid, and mountainous, it's people are skilled sailors and navigators, their merchants trade and their pirates raid all across the world. The crescent is called D'yogen.

Ominaes have golden irises by default, Ominaes with supernatural ancestry have different iris-colors, this is one of the main tells of someone having supernatural ancestry.

I'm bumping this thread.

>first quest is getting paid by the tavern owner to clear all the pigeons out of the basement

The role of the unabashedly evil villain race is taken by amphibious monstrosities who worship the fabled 6th element of Void and wish to return the world to the absolute cold and silence of its origins.

>Jk gods exist in this world and are bitching

>jumped up spirits sometimes gain enough power/arrogance to declare themselves "gods", bitch constantly when the world fails to pay them the "proper respect"

Kek.

> In some cultures, it is considered a sign of rudeness and arrogance to stare one's superior or elder in the eye. Likewise, it is considered a sign of humility and respect to stare one's inferior or younger in the eye.

>Gods don't exist/aren't present in the world

>offspring of the being who created the world

wot

Runic magic functions through using the ground up stuff of these creatures engraved into the focus

Wow all the idea put forth in this thread are cancerous as shit

No this thread is very Reddit-y

A tribe of a Golems roam the lands, collecting knowledge.
No one knows who built them.
They are very polite, and love children.

And they are known for their martial arts skills

Amazing how one line can vastly improve something.

You're describing Gods

By Gods, I meant divine entities, not objects of worship. The elementals/fey/demons are objects of worship, but they aren't divine entities. The primordial creator entity is not a divine enitity, but is simply THE creator.

So Gods, just not typical d&desque Gods?
