Well, I might have been more forgiving back then, but I liked the idea of vidiya protags having to be pretty messed up to do what vidiya protags usually do, even if it was a bit edgy/tryhard in places, plus you get to ride a dragon.

Also, half the story wasn't locked away in books/DLC.

Considering the man always works with budgets made up of three shoe strings and bubblegum on top of not being allowed to put half the stuff he wants in the game because it'd trigger people I'd say he's doing alright.

Actually the reveal of Kaine being intersex made a lot of her backstory make more sense, but I still dislike her character, because she was such an insufferably bitch with nowhere near enough moments of caracter development to make it worth it.

Same goes for the Protag of Drakenguard 3.

Zero is a lot more subdued in the jap VA. She says pretty much the same things but is a very different character compared to English Zero.

I felt it was worth it, but I can understand feeling that way if I played the English version

Pretty much everyone in the region is doomed, the disciples are going to revert eventually, the sisters and her eye are all ticking down to the apocalypse, and the most important piece of her effort to save the world became a retarded singing baby that doesn't want to kill anyone. I think anyone would be cursing like a sailor under those conditions, and for all the threats she doesn't actually abuse anyone much if ever.
