Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where the Khawarij is a renowned melee unit with CC 20, no martial arts, no valor dogged or NWI, and Arm 1.
So the lifepath gen for the RPG is crazy fun. I ended up having a character get double interesting times, having their home burn down, be involved in and then solved a major crime, along with a family member being murdered and discovering an alien ruin. That was interesting to try and interpret into a coherent story for building their background.

forgive me user, I have sinned.

That actually sounds really cool; can you go into more detail? Are you actually in a game of it, or just messing around with character creation? How well does character creation roll?

A friend of mine is going to be running one soon, I was messing around with random gen and ended up with a character I really liked.
The chargen itself is really interesting, varied and creates a lot of cool stories through how you interpret and connect the various events and careers they go through, with the life points you're given letting you customise things a bit when you want to. No idea how balanced it is, that'll likely be figured out in time.
The PC started out as a Corregidoran, trained in zero-g work and industry from a young age, which I interpreted as a pretty standard working class upbringing.
Things got weird when they relocated to Tunguska, the families fortunes suddenly improving and the character shifting into academia, which I interpreted as breaking through into a tech business.
And then things got interesting. They were fired from their academics career, and rolled into that of an investigative reporter- And those events being linked seemed obvious. Discovering something they weren't meant to know, noticing a flaw in some research or evidence, and then being forced out of the profession in order to cover it up, blacklisted and their word discredited. Then taking up the banner of a seeker of truth, finding like minded people who taught them the ways and means of getting to the bottom of it.
At the end of all that? The next event roll was dark secret, followed by a career term of unemployment. Which was just perfect. After long years of searching for the truth, finding it upon the lips of a family member... And falling to despair, no longer any drive to do anything.
The unemployed period was the time they hit the ridiculous double interesting times event rolls, which I interpreted as someone burning down their home to try and kill them or put them in prison, but their survival and involvement with the crime eventually leading to a final confrontation with their estranged family.
Wyatt Bailey
This is where pieces fell into place for me. That it occurred in an alien ruin made me think that this must have been what the dark secret was about- Whatever tech business they broke into, they did so on the basis of illegally acquired and unregulated alien technology, likely endangering their clients and putting people at risk. The understanding of their families treachery and betrayal is what put them into despair, then drove them to resolve it all after the arson spurred them to action.
Of course, it didn't all end well. The crime was solved but one of their family was dead, and the next career and event rolls kinda sealed the deal- They went back to Corregidor for a term of military service, likely with the Tomcats, while the event roll was either debt or disownment- The family business collapsing amidst the scandal and the loss of the alien ruin that had been the source of their innovations and profits.
While it did take some creative thinking and playing around with various elements, I really enjoyed the story that occurred from putting all the pieces together.
Tyler King
Oh, that sounds really cool. Have other players rolled up things? What do they have? What sort of campaign is it going to be? Are there any oddities or problems in the system? What about houserules?
I'm the only guy in my Infinity playgroup that does RPGs, but some of them are interested in trying out that part of the traditional gaming hobby, so I thought if the system was cool I might use it to get them into it, so I'm trying to get a feel for what I'd be getting into.
Noah Flores
So far we have a hyper-elite Ariadnan Dogface, which should be interesting, along with another Nomad Reverend Custodier. Plus an Aleph Aspect, which should mean we'll get along like a house on fire.
One player has yet to roll up, and we're just going with the basic 'the PCs have been seconded to O-12's Bureau Noir as problem solvers' thing. Have yet to actually play, so we'll see how it goes. I'll likely drop by and mention it in future threads if we discover any big issues. The system seems fun though, it makes hacking and social conflict just as potentially powerful as physical fighting, which is very interesting, and the Heat/Momentum economy seems like a really interesting resource mechanic for solving problems on the player side and potentially giving the GM tools to create new ones for you.
Liam Martinez
Interesting. How does the former work? I thought that Dogfaces were second class citizens at best on Dawn. I'm surprised that ALEPH aspects are playable, but I guess they are a major part of the setting; I'm less surprised that Reverends are playable. Full reverends or are reverend PCs supposed to be something like apprentices?
Jason Parker
What's the best way to start Infinity with an army themed around the Devil Dogs?
The Hyperelite Dogface is just a quirk of randomgen, I think. One of those odd things you need to interpret to make sense of your character.
Aleph has a lot of options, you can even end up as a Recreation.
And there are a lot of special careers available in the core book already, with the various faction books promising more specific ones for each factions various signature units.

I thought their light shotguns would be older pump-action models...
Justin Adams
The minutemen and female airbourne look awesome.
The fucking Scots though, why would they do that to me. I am going to have to buy another army now they look too good. :(

I need some help understanding Holo L2. As it is L2 of a skill, it automatically gains L1. Under the holoecho state rules it says it can be combined with L1 and I've seen people use this in games how it is specified with 3 models of the same profile instead of echoes. If I do this, I'd place a holoecho marker next to one of them at the start of my turn to essentially tell my opponent it's a holo L2 troop.
Are all 3 are still in the holoecho state and move at the same time? Can I choose to just place one holo L1'd mini down and 2 holo markers? (essentially to fool the opponent into thinking it's a different holo2 troop) What is the point of negative "feedback" with holo L1 and L2 if it specifically says it can be combined? Isn't this intended only for L3? Also, if my opponent declares discover on a holoecho that is the main trooper, and I respond with surprise shot L1, would it be a FTF roll?
Also for open information that is shared at the start of the game, can I hand my opponent a list with incorrect models as open info even if the army courtesy list lists holo troops as blank? Related to this, are the points of a specific profile of a troop open info? I understand the points of a specific troop is private, but can I ask "what is the point cost of X unit with Y profile" and if not, is there anything stopping me from just looking up the point cost/army point costs up myself on army, assuming it does not slow the pace of the game to an unnecessary degree?

Is it just me or chargen site a little bugged? One time I didn't get +2 attribute for education, the other it reduced all attributes by 1 after death even though I spent LP to get normal lhost.
Dominic Anderson
How do you hair like this?
Carson Perry
VMC Turquoise, wash VMC black, highlight by mixing with sunny skin tone.
Robert Collins
Wow, thanks for the quick and detailed response!!
I don't have Sunny Skin Tone--but I do have other colors. Any warm skin tone will work?
Luke Long
...
Jordan Rodriguez
I'd say so, doesn't look particularly specific. I'd try to choose a more orange-ish skin tone over pink-ish and you should be fine.
Nicholas Mitchell
Base coats are coming along. Step by step I'll be ruining this rare model with my subpar paint job.

Still pissed off for CB not giving them 3 sexes.

What's the best link for MRRF? Metros? Metros with Bruant? Loups spamming viral? Mixed briscards or moblots? I've been stuck in a tactical rut lately with my games (I usually play either all-infiltrator vanilla Ariadna or a CHA list with wallace LT and a wulver link plus CRAP SAS and whatever to season), so I'm thinking I'll try to give MRRF out, but I"m not sure what the best link to build around is.
Daniel Morris
With a large side order of knowing how light reflects on longish straight hair like that.
Christopher Reed
I think all their links are fucking awesome. It's really hard to go wrong.
William Richardson
Well, the list I'm currently looking at is a Briscard link (LT, FO, HRL, sniper, paramedic), four minelayer chasseurs and a 112 in the first group, then a Dozer with a traktor mul control device, the urgan/TR mul, three camo/infil metros and two regular metros to feed orders to the mul and the dozer if needed for specialist reasons.
Ayden Taylor
I don't think they've bothered updating it for a while, being focused on other things.
Andrew Bennett
>hacker Ughh...
Logan Cook
What? It's a generic breaker combi. If it was the hacker then it would say "hacker", not "breaker combi rifle".
Colton Brooks
she has hacking visor
Ethan Hernandez
That's a hacking visor. Look at the ML zhanying in comparison.
Dylan Anderson
I will never understand why CB doesn't just release those with two head options. I'd pay extra for the benefit of being rid of some of the most useless releases.
Kayden Hughes
It's like the Umbra Legate with "it's totally a BS loadout, never mind that the only loadout with BS is the hacker"
Chase Green
nice to see a good looking sukeul, considering how useful they are. also is that a miss label in the gorgos pilot, or will they be getting k1 rifles
Jaxson Scott
I wish you had warned me about the riot girls, i just blew the zip off my pants
Matthew Nelson
I see. However it's subtle enough that it could convincingly be used as the sensor profile, so that's what I'll use it as.
Not at all. The sensor and FO profiles for Zhanying also use a breaker combi.
Logan Martin
>Not at all. The sensor and FO profiles for Zhanying also use a breaker combi. Well yeah, and that could be a sensor visor or something. I meant that maybe they just forgot to add "hacker" to the description because siesta or something.
Gabriel Davis
Because it will be pointless, since you'll proxy it in the end. All that hacker stuff is just aesthetical purpose, most people are fine with it as long as it looks good. And its not as jarring as weapon loadouts.
Luis Young
To be fair. She's not a terrible hacker profile, but then again she's only up against a Pheasant Hacker for the same device and points....so there'a not any competition there
In the seminar Bostria mentioned that it was an error. The Gorgos Pilot keeps her spitfire.
> The Riot Grrls and the Tinbot are still not done according to Carlos at Adepticon.
>i just blew the zip off my pants Why? They're better than the original, but still ugly bitches.
I would too. or at least an arm swap to switch out the hacker waving arm. Extra parts for swapping in general like the GdA and Myrmidon Officers would be nice.
I don't proxy models if it's blantantly a Hacker like the Rodok w/ BSG or Bolt w/ BSG.
That said, Zhanying hacker doesn't look bad. She's not in a silly hacker pose and the visor can represent a sensor. Whatever.
Caleb Lewis
>Why? They're better than the original, but still ugly bitches.
who cares, the models are gorgeous, and have heaps of character. they look like ultra violent super feminists
Asher Wilson
>but still ugly bitches That's like a part of their job description. Did you expected a unit made of hardcore militant feminists to be a group of animu cuties?
Gabriel Baker
One of the reasons I dislike the current box is because of the dumb hair. It's a lot better with the new grrls.
>Did you expected a unit made of hardcore militant feminists to be a group of animu cuties? Yes
I did consider adding those when I did the bookmarks on the original file, but I decided I couldn't be assed.
Ian Campbell
>Yes They are right here.
Robert Thompson
Your paint is way to thick.
You should watch Duncan's videos on Warhammer TV. It is free and its actually a high quality product. The only good thing GW still puts out.
Leo Wright
^ For some reason it didn't go back to your image.
Ethan Long
Haqq is a tragic faction, with shit-tier fluff, made out of mostly generic models, with a few absolutely stunning models.
The nu-islam shit is just corny and stupid. Not even a /pol/ack, just don't care either way. Could have made it an arab union with religious undertones, or even a sub-faction like MO (which is dumb as fuk too), and it would be acceptable-tier.
Al Fasid (both versions), Azaril(Both too) and Magihabara are arguably the 3 nicest models in the entire game, let down by a completely generic or stupid looking troops. At least pan-o has berets.
A massive shame, as I would have loved to pick up the faction. Stupid fluff I can ignore, but generic models I can't.
Cooper Adams
use a wet palette. I still don't understand why people don't use them. Auto thins your paints, no need to keep thinning them, and can store paint for weeks. Literally 5 minutes of work to make one.
Joseph Morgan
Nice blog, fampai.
Sebastian Clark
>it's so hot >nice armor design but bland shit everywhere else >why aren't they proper religious >tfw no berets >my feet hurt K, we don't want you bitching on Bourak either.

Does anyone have a screen shot / torrent of the book with the fluff for the Jotum. I just wanna read more about this big beautiful bastards.
Aiden Bell
A wet palette is in the picture, mate.
Jeremiah Hernandez
Is that the thing that looks like a tray full of PVA glue?
Henry Hughes
A reminder CB has received bomb threats from the religion of peace because of Haqq.
Anthony Brooks
>Make the Religion of Peace™ faction actually a religion of (relative) peace in your game >Get bomb threats from Religion of Peace™ because you portrayed them as more peaceful
TRULY THE MOST TOLERANT RELIGION.
Ian Parker
Yeah, the parchment paper is out of frame because I was just using a wee bit but that is indeed moist paper towels. Why would I keep a tray full of PVA glue?
source?
John Morris
What's the source on that?
It sounds believable enough, any person or group of sufficient popularity is going to get death threats and Islam seems to be a popular excuse for that sort of shit these days, but a source has always been asked for and never provided when talk of the bomb threat gets posted here.
Leo Kelly
I highly doubt it's real, CB is not high profile enough to get bomb threats from people like DAESH, and the great majority of muslims don't really do the whole bomb threat thing from what I've seen
William Wright
The great majority don't disprove of it either. That's the big difference. Christianity has it's extremists and fundamentalists, but the normal ones call those guys faggots and teach their kids how retarded being a religious fundamentalist is, so the crazies have a hard time gaining recruits and can't blend into a sympathetic community to hide from retribution.
Mason Roberts
Carlos mentioned it once can't remember when since it was a while ago.
Joseph Phillips
They don't, but there's a big difference between saying you're going to murder someone on the internet and actually doing it. People seem far more willing to indulge in the former, particularly when they're protected by the distance and anonymity of the internet.
Jeremiah White
what is a wet pallete?
Blake Bailey
Parchment paper over a moist layer of paper towels or sponge on a tray that provides a semi-permeable palette to mix paints over and keep them wet for longer.
Zachary Baker
Not even a beginer at painting, so Ill ask a fellow up question, which may sound stupid. How does it help ? Wouldn't it just make the paint runny and impossible to properly use ? everything would become like an ink, plus different colors would be constantly mixing up and the paper would clump up and it would be hard to not get it on the model. Or is the paper used some sort of special painting paper?
Zachary Campbell
"parchment" paper is kind of special, usually used for baking. It lets a wee bit of water through to the paint that gets put on top of it, but it doesn't make it run or anything, the acryllic paint keeps it consistency and doesn't go into the water. It just keeps it from drying too fast.
Look up a tutorial about wet palettes, it's hard to explain unless you've got experience with it or see it with your own eyes.
Xavier Bailey
Look up a tutorial by Kujo. Explains it really well on youtube
Isaiah Howard
I was painting my iguana yesterday and it reminded me of how much I fucking hate painting
But I have to do it because I'll be damned if I never paint at least one army

How's the gaming scene in Ecuador?
Luke Adams
It took just the right angle compared to everyone else.
Jayden Taylor
Wasn't that a hoax?
Evan Morgan
I have Artbook One and all there is on Jotum in it is an abridged version of one of the paragraphs in online catalogue.
Jaxon Foster
>The great majority don't disprove of it either.
I see you have no idea on what you're talking about.
John Harris
They're a peaceful religion.
>And they'll fucking cut your head off to prove it.
Jaxson Collins
Get educated user. Islam is a cancer, it's needs to be cut out.
Angel Hall
Damn, I haven't played in over a year, but I'm probably gonna buy that Mormaer.
Lincoln Brown
So when you cut open a post-human, do they bleed?
Caleb Howard
I'd imagine that if they do bleed it'd either be oil like in Samurai Jack or white liquid like the android in Alien.
Isaac Young
Yes, but as said, it's a synthetic blood-like substance that's far more efficient than real blood.
Jose Anderson
All blue and glow-y like in Far Cry Blood Dragon. Yeah, that'd be cool.
Isaiah Turner
Ash is a goddamned robot!
Caleb Lee
I am an Ariadna/MRRF n00b, but I am bullish on the Briscards and Metros. They make up the bulk of my first buy.
What models are you using for the Chasseurs? Seems like they are a pain in the ass to get ahold of.
Charles Reyes
I heard people like to use the Hunzakut as a Chasseur proxy.
Liam Martin
>Just nuts and bolts
Robert Hughes
I'm looking for some alternative missions, campaign or fun missions. Nothing too serious.
Any suggestions? Infinity is surprisingly hard to Google for due to Disney Infinity :)
Michael Scott
20x20 and YAMS.
Jaxon Sullivan
If you put -disney into your search it'll ignore any page with the word disney in.
Ryan James
thanks anons, 20x20 looks promising.
What about narrative campaign missions that link? Any suggestions there?
