CLAIMED FOR THE W'EATERS

I'm expecting to go against Death Guard, I'm pretty sure we both want a casual game and I told him I'm bringing a Baneblade beforehand
How badly am I gonna get beat into pulp

3rd for slaanesh

Rolling up another deathwatch army because I have lost control of my life.
Probably gonna do loyalist marines or Necron

>W'eaters
>Posts Word Bearers

Word Eaters. Hungry for wooooords!

Two armies getting squated in one image

You know how lots of Imperial institutions have a Space Marine chapter or two in their pocket to do their bidding? Like how the AdMech has the Steel Confessors (and to a lesser extent the Iron Hands?), the Inquisition has the Grey Knights and Exorcists, and the High Lords of Terra have the Minotaurs? Why not one for the Administratum? Just an entire chapter of bureaucrats and nerds. Razing cities to collect overdue library books, and deep-striking onto the planetary palace of a tithe-dodging governor to audit him with extreme prejudice.

The Book Wyrms.

WHO
IS
BEST
IOM
ARMY?

loyalist Necron eh? thats a new one

mechnicus, though they arent as good as dark mechnicum

You guys get bugged with requests for list crit all the time, so I'm sorry to do this, but I've been out of the game for years and I just got back into it so I can play with some guys at my local club. I'm trying to build an Eldar list with all my favourite models from their range using the new Ynnari rules, but some of the things I've read say that they're ridiculously OP and no fun to play. Winning really isn't that important to me compared to having fun. With that in mind, how does this list look?

Triumvirate of the Ynnead
Yvraine
Visarch
Yncarne
Whispering Ghost Hall
Farseer: Singing Spear
Spiritseer
Shadowseer: Haywire nades, Neuro-Disruptor, Mastery Lvl 2
5x Wraithblades: Axe and Shield
5x Wraithguard: D-Scythes
5x Wraithguard: D-Scythes
Wraithlord: Bright Lance
Wraithlord: Ghost Glaive
Aspect Host
3 x 6 Striking Scorpions each w/ basic Exarch

Sort of ran out of points so I can't fit any tanks in there to ferry the Wraithguard about but I managed to get a lot of my favourite units in there (Wraithguard and Howling Banshees). Is it shit? Image for attention.

loyal to the silent king :^)

I would like to start admech even though I already have Imperial Guard, Space Marines and SoB
I'm deep in the hole and can't get out
I like SoB and IG the best though, which one I prefer over the other kinda waivers

>Book Wyrms
kek'd

Oh, forgot to say it comes to 1999pts as I think 2k is the standard game size. Thanks in advance anyone who decides to help out with some list crit.

I also forgot to say I'll be heavily converting the Yncarne as it just looks silly in a bad way, imo.

START GREY KNIGHTS

>b-but they are shit
DO IT

2k points is gonna take you all afternoon to play
1,85k is the tournament standard
1k-1,5k is a fun, decently lengthy game
500 points can be okay I guess?
Local meta already has Grey Knights and I don't feel any sort of connection to them.

Drop the heavy bolter team or give them another weapon. S5 AP4 will do nothing against Death Guard. Same thing with the grenade launchers. You need as much AP3 as possible.

You should also get a bunch of conscripts with a priest to wrap the baneblade with. Otherwise he can fly in a daemon prince and smash it.

Right lads I'm fuckin doing chaos space marines for that new wee necromunda game that's coming out. How should I run them?

Yeah that's alright, club starts at 5:30 and finishes at around 10ish so the game length isn't too much of an issue.

>Reads "Iron Army"
>Is about to complain about not seeing Iron Hands, Iron warriors, Steel Legion etc
>Reads it again
>Goodgrief.jpg

Also, answering the question, AdMec or Guard.

Very little mass.
Very little mobility.

Seems like shit to me senpai. The Wraithguard will never reach the enemy on foot. You need some wave serpents or raiders.

The formations are fairly restrictive and I can't see where I can drop enough points to fit in a Wave Serpent or two. I'm trying to avoid having to take any models I don't want (like Guardians or whatever). Honestly I've been out of the game for ages and the new rules on army structure are incredibly confusing, I have no idea how all the different formations work and if they're even legal without a CAD.

Just take the reborn warhost. It's the default Ynnari formation and works just like a CAD, except instead of obsec you get two starbursts for every unit destroyed instead of one.

And you can take pretty much whatever you want from CE, DE, and quins.

Oh yeah, just flipped through the Fracture of Biel-Tan book and saw this, awesome. What would recommend I take as my troops tax? I have some Harlequins lying around I bought for a project a while ago, will two squads of them work alright. I think I'll be taking Yvraine, the Visarch, some Wraithguard, a couple of Wave Serpents and some Howling Banshees. I'm not sure in the 'Quins will synergise with them at all. Maybe I should take some Scatbikes, I hear they're pretty good in most situations.

First of all, are you building a list to win, or are you building a list that you think is cool and thematic? This is important.

Can Crusader henchmen retinue join a unit along with an inquisitor to utilize their storm shields for said unit?

Cool and thematic. I like Wraithguard, I like Howling Banshees and Yvraine and the Visarch have really nice models and lore. Not massively interested in roflstomping the lads I'm going to play with, it's a pretty casual chill meta.

>No image to accompany as tribute

For shame, user.

It's eldar bro, all the troop choices are good. Kabalite warriors are great, dire avengers are great, guardians are good, and windriders are one of the most fucked up units in the game.

Basically, take whatever you like the most, anything you want to run will be decent at the very least.

What?

Can a non independent character join another unit? Is that your question ?

Cool. Otherwise I'd tell you to scrap the Yvraine and Visarch, but roll with them.

I like Kabalites as troops, they're cheap, good disposable soulburst dispensers, come with poison, and will feel very Ynnari in your list as you lack DE presence.

What squad are you planning to run the Visarch and Yvraine in? A fun option that can either crash and burn like nothing else or work in really interesting ways is to put them in a Warlock Conclave. As the warlocks die, Yvraine will regen wounds and get new powers + mastery levels.

My friend and I split Dark Vengeance a little while ago, and I ended up with the Chaos side. What can I do to improve my collection from here? I'm thinking of a Chaos undivided army, or a combined Chaos and Ork army.

I'm wondering if an inquisitor and his henchmen count as one to join another unit

>Mixing factions
No

Just run Word Bearers user

>combined Chaos and Ork army.
Why do you demand such pain?

If you're gonna do Chaos/Orks do Alpha Legion and Blood Axes, they might be worthwhile next edition.

Henchmen are a unit, not an independent character. Only time you can mix units is if it is specifically ruled that way, like Celestine and her two groupies. Where as Grimaldus and his servitors cannot join another unit.

Why would it? They are different units bought from different entries. It's not a Celestine that it has rules for that in the same entry

Da Orks are my favorite race. I was debating just getting that Ork starter pack, but Dark Vengeance came with all the rules and stuff, so I ended up getting that.

Do they have like special figures, or are they all just painted differently?

Okay, thanks for helping me with this by the way, I really appreciate it.

Current list based off your recommendations and other anons is this:

Reborn Warhost
Yvraine
Visarch
2x 10 Kabalite Warriors
Seer Council
2x Farseer, Singing Spear
5x Warlocks
Aspect Host
2 x 6 Howling Banshees w/ Basic Exarch
5x Wraithblades, Axe and Shield, Wave Serpent
5x Wraithguard, D-Scythes, Wave Serpent
Shadowseer, ML2, Haywire nades, Neuro-Disruptor

That leaves me at 1839pts. I think I've covered most of my bases there and I still get to play with Wraiths and Banshees. Ideas then are obviously to chuck Yvraine and the Visarch in with the Seer Council, Wraiths are distractions and/or hit and run and the Kabalites, Banshees and Shadowseer stick together to benefit from soulburst. Is this list alright?

It's just funny that your two favorite factions are the worst by far.

They're just painted differently. Alpha Legion have Legion Rules, but Blood Axes are just the best Ork Clan.

CSM are better than Tyranids.

Depends on the legion, but you're right.

Aspect Hosts have to have 3 squads. You could cut the Wraithblades for Fire Dragons or Dire Avengers.

In friendly games it'll work, you're quite low on bodies though, and you have a LOT of psykers competing for dice. Psychic might is really strong though, so it might still be worth it since the Yvraine can generate some of her budget on her own.

Makes sense, thought henchmen joined with the Inquisitor, not the other way around being a retinue and all

Thoughts on the venerable dreadnaught? I've been dreaming of running a custodes army forever but I'm iffy on that unit.

What makes the Blood Axes better if they don't have different rules?

What can I say? I love Cheese.

Overpriced/10

Because Blood Axes are Kunnin' but Brutal!

And they're the only clan to use any sense of actual military tactics and camouflage.

The dreadnaught or custodes in general?

Custodes were made in mind for 8th I think.
In 7th they're probably the 3rd or 4th worst army.

Ah, sorry, typed 2 instead of 3. It'll be 3 squads of Howling Banshees.

I honestly have no idea how the psychic phase works now, it's just that said that running Yvraine with them could be fun(ny). Honestly, they can go and be replaced with something else, that formation comes to 385pts. I just can't think of something to replace them with. What would you suggest?

Ouch. Any recommendations for allies then? I was thinking sisters or inquisition

I'm the same guy, it's running a seer council I'm 50/50 about due to the raw number of psykers, but because of Yvraines self-generating dice it could work.

So what list builder is this I keep seeing people use, I've only used battlescribe

Why not? Da Orks are my favorite faction.

Would they have lots of librarians?

>angry library dreadnoughts
Even in death, I still learn.

It also makes the most sense to have Alpha Legion paired up with Blood Axes; both favor infiltration and sabotage rather than just open combat.

Ven Dreadnoughts in general. And Ven Contempt Dreadnoughts even more so.

Their motto could be Latin for the "death and taxes" phrase.

Everything dies when attacked sufficiently. A good player will know this and use that to their advantage through redundancy, and maneuvering. Terrain means your shit doesnt insta die from a mean look from a jetbike without maneuvering on their part -- which you can manipulate.

Landraiders are meant to be fucking durable. If that fucker gets your assault unit into the enemy deployment zone by turn 2 its done its job.

Do better, user

shit, that one's good

>Loyal thousand sons

I like the idea, librarians are my favourite space marine specialist.

You may just have enough firepower to worry him, but he's going to fuck you on mobility and capping objectives.
Between FNP and Shrouded you should probably throw buckets of dice at them rather than trying for more AP3 which he already has a fair bit of. Plus it's perfect if the guy brings plague zombies.

Well SoB another problem, old metal models and mostly one way to play them.

Amazing in ZM. Strong in Kill team if used effectively. A squad fire-support platform otherwise.

Its effectiveness depends on your strategy.

Morte et tributa.

DEATH AND TITHE COME FOR THEE, HERETIC

As much power armor and heavy weapons as you can squeeze in, you can recruit Cultists later but you can't promote them to Marines like Loyalists and some other armies can do with their Recruits.

>Morte et tributa.
Fuck.
Sounds cool.

Statistically, a krak missile has better odds of killing a marine than a HB does. And against zombies a frag missile will probably get more hits.

Sos i meant

>one way to play them

I count three user.
BOLTER
FLAMER
AND MELTA
THE HOLY TRINITY OF THE ADPETA SORORITA

>a marine
That's because a regular Johnny doesn't have FNP and a buff to cover saves to fall back on once his armor is negated.

They should be very Great Crusadeish in attitude. Seeking out non-compliant worlds, spreading old school Imperial Truth, and naturally coming into conflict with the Ecclesiarchy and Inquisition.

>AND THE FOURTH
>THE FORBIDDEN WAY
...
>THE PLASMA

look at that bitch with her plasma pistol, it's like she wishes she was a Space Marine

remember when sobs had orders other than our martyred lady

I do

I hope in 8th we can take 5 heavy weapons for havocs and put one on the champion

Are we aspect Warrior now?

SoB right now are MSU Immolator/Repressor Spam with a side dish of Exorcist and Seraphims

Are flakk missiles worth it or is it better to use reaper autocannons?

Help anyone? ;-;

>new ynnari alliance with gully man leads to howling banshee sob

I need this

It's not a matter of having allies, it's a matter of every single entry that you have in the codex being insanely overpriced. For one of your troop choice armies can take heavy support/elite options that completely decimate the squad and the overpriced god awful transport they rode in on. The fact that Custodes can't get a marked down land raider is beyond me. I don't get it.
They can't get worse. They'll get better in 8th but it's still up in the air really. They're an army which unless things went back to the way they were in 5th when 2+ was king (which it never will, weapon profiles are too good at taking them out) they'll be mid tier or lower.

Is there any way to get Ferrum Infernus Dreadnoughts? Do any recasters make them?

Seconded.

Autocannons.
Flak missiles should come free because they're on an already mediocre weapon.

Seems nasty enough, I'd enjoy fighting it. Veterans for Obsec, your tanks can hold/contest objectives from non-obsec.

Needs conscripts

There's no actual model. One of the old Legion dreads are perfect for it, but you can make do with pretty much any Dreadnought model, even Hellbrutes are A-ok as long as you have something that says "this guy is a bit more elite"

Vectorized my legion's logo, looks quite nice if I say so myself

>plague zombies.
He isn't gonna bring those, I'm almost 100% sure. I'm certain he'll go for that formation that gives his plague marines an aura that nerfs my weapon skill, iniative and toughness though.
Also
>Death Guard being more mobile
He's not gonna bring a bike list either, I'm almost certain.
Unless he really hates my baneblade.
I'm really scared about Daemon Princes though
I can't drop the heavy bolters, I'm using steel legion models and they're all I have
Plus I fucking love heavy bolters

Death Watch.

Close second is Mechanicum for forcing the Emperor to kneel (at his own fucking doorstep).

Could be improved, but looks nice

I really fucking hope Noise Marines get new models like Death Guard. Noise Marines are such a cool fucking idea, and they deserve so much better than just an upgrade kit.

(and they're the only good thing Slaanesh has to offer that isn't cringeworthy)

Daemonettes used to be cool.

I'd slap that shit all over a dreadnought/Librarian.

yeah, I might re do the chaos star segments since they look a little wonky.
