Trimming mould lines for first

First for the Four-Armed Emperor.

Ooh, 14 seconds too slow.

Denied

How do wyches get into combat without getting murderized? Just rely on cover?
List is
Leader with shradnet and plasma nades
Bloodbride with razorflails
3 wyches with poisoned chain hooks
4 debutantes with poisoned chain hooks

Heh, you play Pantstealer Cultists?

What kind of weird sword is that? I thought they were human hybrids, why do they have an eldar looking thing?

Are you having trouble with too spread out terrain?

What? No, I play Denimrobbers

lul

We get it. You're a hero.
Cease the Wah.

Someone else would make it if you'd just let it die, and you're day 3 of not using box art like a real user would.

I'm was torn between Guard and GSC... but I can't see anything that GSC have over Guard... other than model count (eventually...) They basically seem inferior.

GSC have: Hiding on deployment, heavy stubbers, blasting charges, better initiative, autopistols.

Guard has: Plasma, no heavy weapons... uh...

I feel that GSC is actually better than Guard. Armour doesn't mean much at all in this game, your guys will die if they get hit.

Only played one game with them so far. Just wondering if I was missing something

Well make sure the terrain is dense with multiple means of approach (streets, doors, ladders, walkways) and you should be able to get up nice and tight in their shit

Should I be taking anything other than poison chain hooks? Is the Bloodbride worth it or should I just put in more goons?

Wych player here, I've gothen in a few games and being able to run 12 and charge 12 without Los is super helpful. Also raw I don't think you can take any other weapons if you use a gladiatorial weapon. Using debutants also isn't super great as you only save a few points and that WS4 is super important.

Heavy Stubbers
Bigger Command Range
Most damaging single-shot weapon, short of a demo charge
Start the game hidden
Webbers
S4 -1 grenades
Every model can have a Bolt Pistol

Brother!

I'm Looking forward to painting these, still have to de-mold line, drill barrels and so on.

Webbers are lulzy, they can get actual heavy weapons and Genestealers are absolutely horrifying.

I saw a Solitaire get webbed to death. He will never be scary again, it's just too funny to think about.

cool bases, where are they from?

working on my orks now.
is heavy armor good at all?
-1 I could be really bad for my nob and boys.
1/6 to recover from pinning and not falling off ledges.

im considering armor on my big shoota guy sine he will just hang back and blast away.

what do you think?
is I1 very bad?

That's a tyranid bonesword.

It's a bonesword. A tyranid weapon.

Splinter pistols a's they negate most saves and always wound on 4+. They also give shooting. All of my gals are kitted out with pistol and hook waiting to get poison and a helm, also soul seeker rounds for 3+ rerouting 1s pinning when you can't charge.

... How did they get one of those? Do the Warriors just hand them one when the invasion starts?

they grow out of the patriarch's living throne

fuck. looking at the skill chart, blood axes seem pretty crap.

troopers and specialists cant take ferocity or muscle. but shooting and stealth instead.

shooting seems pretty terrible, and stealth doesnt look much better.

while ferocity has nothing but good skills, and muscle has some good ones too.

Nobody gives a single fuck about blood axes.

I'm sitting here wondering which skills I should go with my guard myself. Shooting doesn't seem too bad to me but it's got some like gunfighter that are really damn situational.

Screw you, I love Blood Axes.

Well you do get to roll 2 dice and pick which one you want, rerolling one of the dice until you get 2 different results.

thanks guy, me too.

I suppose so. I guess I'm just a bit off because I'm paying attention to the fact that that there is 2.5 (Half of Ferocity + Muscle + Combat) skill trees that are all about melee so there are a lot more good melee skills than ranged skills.

That and the whole 'Once you have gunfighter, fast short or crack shot you want to stop rolling on the table as you can't combine the skills'.

Do i build the team I want, or should I build some extra units when things die?

It all depends! Having an extra troop or two helps in case a unit dies, but if you have the perfect team set up they might not die!

If you find that lots of your troops are downed during combat, you might want to get more. If they seem to be doing well I would invest in more. :)

I feel like Acolyte Hybrids should be the GSC trooper and Neophytes should be statlocked rookies.

I mean, they're both troops choices.

Seeing as most teams cap out with one box of dudes, you can just build the guys you want your list to end up with.

Need some help!
We've got an asymmetrical tournament and are having some issues figuring out how underdog bonuses should go, or if we should put them in at all.

We've tried 50 or 100 EP per missed game, but that means beaten and bloodied teams were short-shitted.

Then we tried saying 'Half of the points difference between players', but one dude started throwing a shitfit because he had two wounded specialists and anyone he played would have out-pointed him straight off the bat.
And then the same dude continued to throw a shitfit because he said promethium caches should count towards the underdog bonuses because he wants to punish people who sit on their points instead of spending them.

So I guess, has anyone else tried playing with underdog bonuses?
(Sadly not playing with that guy isn't an option)

points per missed game? wut?

what constitutes an underdog?
those with less promethium after a few games?

is it to counter the rich-get-richer effect?

>That and the whole 'Once you have gunfighter, fast short or crack shot you want to stop rolling on the table as you can't combine the skills'.
You can't combine them in the same shooting phase but you get the versatility of having more options to choose from each time you shoot.

Debating making a list of essentially 3 Scions. Everyone keeps saying 'boys before toys' though...what is a good starting list for guard? What could I do to make my Squat guard more fluffy? I debated doing all laspistols and chainswords to try to make them more HTH focused but that doesn't really seem feasible.

>a list of essentially 3 Scions
RAW this isn't possible because of the special operative being a Scion, although you can just proxy it if your group allows it.

It's kind of fun to do but you can get recruits and only give them frag grenades.

can you give them democharges and go full snackbar?

I meant Scions more in the way of, Veteran with Lasgun, Carapace, Hotshot, Red Dot, Frag+Krak grenades, Clip Harness, and Camo. It's something like 220 points per dude but you could theoretically do it.

Unfortunately no. Demolition charges are for specialists only.

It's basically a 'quick fix' if a newbie needs to fight a veteran.
A couple of points thrown to them before the match begins so they have a better chance of holding their own.

Pretty sure mordheim and necromunda both had systems for it.

Yeah but wysiwyg when you take a hotshot pack, carapace armor and a telescopic sight, there's only one kit you can turn to.

Is that a skittle vang head?
Because that looks boss AF.

It's taking way too fucking long for BattleScribe to update with the stats for this game.

Yup!

Well there's Kasrkins.

Reading the rules and I'm a bit confused. It says if you roll a flesh wound then you recover to 1 wound if you are also down. Then in the recover phase, you keep rolling and on a 1, they suffer a flesh wound and are pinned. But they can also only crawl 2 inches while down.

So what's the point of rolling a 1 when you are already down?I had a game store guy tell me he gets back up on a 1 but that isn't actually the case?

On a 1 your unit is injured, but they get to stand back up. Pinned and downed are not the same thing.

If it's for that just give the noob 100 points to spend for every additional game the veteran has played.

Or maybe 75 points, since the vet will presumably have had to replace casualties (but will also have advancements and points-via-promethium that the noob won't).

The noob is still fucked for getting to 15 promethium though (unless you're playing a perpetual campaign without a win condition)

My 40K tech lore is rusty...

A red-dot sight in SWAG is what most videogames would call a "laser sight" right? Like a laser dot that is projected onto the physical form of the target, and not a reflex sight where the red dot is only observable by the operator?

Are there any bits in any 40K miniature range that currently represent that sort of thing? Every sight/scope bit I've seen has looked like a telescopic/reflex deal and not a laser projector

just let noobs be noobs
let them learn by playing it fair and square

its not about who wins anyway.

yeah that looks great.
i might try to snag some cheap heads and do the same.

kinda reminds me of arbites, who i love

Its whatever you want it to be.

yeah. for orks i imagine it can range from the cartoonish sights in the kit to green laser projector drawing a big green crosshair on the target.

adding 'skopes' to shootas might fit the bloodaxe theme well too

That's what it's supposed to be! The model isn't mine, but it's an arbites conversion.

fuck me.
an arbite killteam would be sweet.

Missing something?

They did such a good job with that art.

I just love the idea of an Ork getting suckerpunched.

I know! I have the games day Arbites model and want to build a kill team with him as the leader.

Agreed!!

Unless they have a good special rule, they'd be the worst fucking elite team.

That looks dope. Just needs a lasgun.

What we did for ours to keep things somewhat level is for every mission you miss you get the bare minimum that every one gets:
1 Promethium Cache
1 Advancement (for anyone not OOA)
100pts to rearm or recruit
(these can't be saved you only get 100 at a time so if you miss 2 missions in a row you have to do 2 separate rearm/recruits)
You also have to roll to see if you have serious injuries on your entire list, basically you are assumed to have lost if you miss. Any 1-3's roll on the Serious Injury chart and may or may not be eligible to play that round.

This is the only method we found to work that keeps things fair because not everyone can make every scheduled session.

'cause if there's one thing Orks need after the last two editions, it's a sucker punch.

Finally played my games to get caught up in my local gw store league. Laid out the Skittles. Arquebus won me two games by itself, alone lol. Took out 4 dudes in two games, with both opponents bottling by turn 2. Fucking beautiful weapon, it is.

I almost got in to it with one of our older players. He convinced two new guys that, even on a 4x4 table, you're only supposed to use the terrain in the box. I told him that was bullshit and they said look it in the book. So I did and pointed out the vagueness of terrain suggestions. There's also the evidence of ALL the pictures, batreps, and necromunda.

Since he was the only free opponent, the store guy told him to play a game with me so I could catch up. We were cold shouldered at that point. He started scooping all the terrain off of our city board and I was like " I'm not playing with anything less than what's there." He got pissed, put it back, and said "Enjoy it then" and walked out.

Pic is what he had those guys playing on

Here's the city board, which has a few ruins used on another table at the time. He removed half the shit there.

It bothers me because, as skitarii, it only makes it unfair for everyone else. I was more annoyed by his awful logic.

>Recovery Phase....Fighters Down
>If you roll a 1, the fighter suffers a flesh wound, and the are pinned for one turn

pg85 in the pdf Main Rules SWA

They need to get hit when they least expect it! ;)

Well he's dumb. Although even what's on that table isn't proper terrain.

With timing like that, I'd say you're closer to Pittsburgstealers

All I see is blue hair

Seconded

When do I roll damage for a weapon? After a hit? Before the armor save?

For example, say I fire a heavy bolter and 2 shots connect. Do I roll a d3 then to determine damage? Then, if I rolled a 6, and both hits got through, does that become six wounds? Does he take an armor save for all six?

...........................

Roll to wound for each shot. compare the str of weapon and toughness of target to determine the number require to wound.

Save are taken after successful wound.

You roll to wound, then your opponent rolls an armor save. If he fails, assuming you have a d3 damage weapon, you roll the die to determine how many wounds he takes.

For every wound dealt after the model goes to 0 wounds, you make that many injury results. (E.g. you dealt three wounds to a 1 wound model, so you toll three injury results)

you roll and resolve each shot one at a time
so for your example: fire heavy bolter, roll sustained fire dice, and then roll to hit/wound/save/damage for first shot, hit/wound/save/damage for second shot, etc etc.
note that pinning the guy might break line of sight so that could fuck with your shots too. and even if you kill them or lose line of sight on the first shot you still have to roll to hit for the remaining shots for sustained fire you rolled to see if you take ammo checks.

check out mine-- a scoped lasgun with red dot below the scope

Whoops lol. Didn't even realize that.

I agree. The games I played later had probably 25% more terrain. This board is also shared with normal 40k players though, so we can't do all the fancy walkways and stuff. We're working on it though.

So the sequence goes hit>wound>armor save>damage?

Reason I ask is because meltas roll d6 and I'm wondering if you determine damage when the fuck you are supposed to roll the d6 for damage.

Yeah, it's a laser sight.

For my Orks I'm going to do a mix of those crosshairs that come in the box (and paint them obnoxiously red), binoculars cut in half, and scopes.

How is chaos in this?

Shame we can't get a Chaos Cultist list. I hope GW takes the time to give us one somewhere down the line.

Can I use a demolition charge to destroy a tower that an enemy is standing on?

Guard Have their command thing and good pinning with reliable weapons. Also plasma is kinda nice

Yeah, or at least that's how we play it in my FLGS.

you roll a D6 for the number of wounds inflicted, and then roll injury tables for every single one.

basically multiple damage weapons are ways to fish for OoA results.

Not bad. You need to remember 2 things though: 1) start off with as many marines as you can, preferably with 2 specialists because marines are really expensive.Pick up cultists as fodder but try to get to 10 marines as soon as you can. They will carry you most of the campaign. Cultists are pretty shit outside of fighting other GEQ in melee.
2)You are a melee faction. Use your gunners as range support and pick up dual swords for parries. Most of your skills deal with melee (muscle and combat) and 3 of your marks are really good in melee combat(nurgle lets you tank, khorne deals hurt, slaneesh lets you break ties and helps keep you from getting pinned.)

I've heard people say that the 50% recruit limit doesnt count for the initial killteam list as the rule states "new" recruits and on the dataslate cultists are just called "recruits"

Are those the sector imperialis bases? I'm looking at getting some for my guard team.

Evil sunz? Shooting for the spanna and cc for nob and boyz.

Assimilate the old necromunda rules for underdog teams?

Someone posted their list of noob scions here the other day, with six units. That looked pretty good. Two vets with hotshot, three specialists with plasma, grl(both) and I can't remember the third and leader with boltpistol and chainsword i think.

You can still give all your guard carapace and use scion models to represent them.

Good on you. People need to be more clear on what a fucking hive looks like.
