>Unlike higher ranking Necrons, the basic warrior is little more than an automaton slaved to the will of their commander.

okay I am looking for the source on my thinking that necrons lose a little of their personality every time they are re-forged.

either way its still true that after a SC re-forges too many times they lose their personality/will and become just mindless machines that are slaves to sigmar's will.

Just like necron warriors.

Wow, what a combo

3rd for slaanesh

Wheres the necrons sigmar scrolls again..

Always be praise!

Speaking of Slaanesh, I recently finished the first batch of Diaz Seekers.

games-workshop.com/en-US/Battletome-Stormcast-Eternals-ENG-HB-2017

They look good user! And I'm glad you didn't sculpt bikinis on them like a prude.

Lower rank necrons lost their personality from the moment of the bio transference, the higher your rank the more you retained.

Necrons can lose personality and intelligence from damage sustained/malfunctions during the statis sleep.

So nothing like necrons.

>So nothing like necrons.
no. after a SC reforges too many times they lost their memories/personality/will and become sigmar's slaves with no independence.

they end up exactly like necron warriors.

Chaos champion prepare his horde for a new invasion

Did the batallions for the flying dwarves ever get posted?

yes. on war of sigmar

Morning everyone !!

Now that you got an idea of what is in the book, I'd like to share a few cute combinations I found.

NB : (To be honest Barak Mhornar is my favorite and strongest sky port)

General consideration:

Positive :

- I think they are going to be a good army once everything is figured out. Really strong shooting, lots of movement tricks, Deepstrike, a few strong melee hitters, Anti flying tech. Mine + thunderer combo is really strong against melee (see point VI).

- FLYING SHIPS

Weakness :

- I am not sure about the impact of having no shield spells with iron clad at 4+ and frigate at 5+.
- Counterspelling is a big investment unless you play vs flyer ^^
- No generic hero with a jet pack :(
- Limited number of units (even if they are quite cool)
- Being able to Roll 4+ :D
- Only 1 battleline unit and no possibilities to have another one with battalion or command.

A few good synergies with them.

I ) Morhnar bombardment

Command trait Opportunistic Privateers = grants reroll against one unit of choice if you are 3" from your general.
10 thunderer with mortar + 1 Aether Khemist + 1 general from Mohrnar = 20 shots, 36"range, hit on 4+ with reroll, wound on 3+ with 1d3 dmg. Math says : 15 hit, 10 saves (each wound is d3). Very good against low save high number units.
threat range is : 4 + d6 + 36 on first turn ^^

ps : I will not comment if it's possible to stack 2 khemist effect on a single unit ^^.

Option : You can do the same combo with Barak Thrygg, choose 1d3 units at start of game and reroll 1 to wound and hit. Math is around 11.5 hits, 8.5 saves but doesn't involve the general.

II) Frigate Death star (still in Morhnar)
1 frigate 10 thunderers, 1 Morhnar general, 1 khemist.
In the hero phase disembark and move in position.
Choose an enemy unit that you want to die and get reroll to hits.
20 Aethercanon shot with 4+ to hit with reroll, 2+ to wound, -2 rend, d3 dmg. = 13 saves with -2 rends * 1d3 dmg ^^

III) Skywardens.
My favorite units are the skywardens - they are cheap, move fast and won't count towards the number of embarked dwarves. yay
3 skywardens are 100pt.
You can easily disembark, move and charge.
Each one of them get 2 melee attacks at 4+ to hit, 3+ to wounds, -1 rends , d3.

ps : I think I am going to use magnets with them - I want to be able to kit them full melee or keep the option to go full specials weapons as a skirmish units.

Option : With the right battalion (escort wing give +1 to hit against 1 unit per turn in the shooting phase) I can disembark 9 of them, move, shoot and shoot 18 volley gun shot + 3 explosive drill at a 24" range.

IV) First round ship Alpha !

Iron sky Squadron grants: 1 extra shot PER WEAPONS on first turn for frigate.
Barak-Morhnar grants: run and shoot on first turn ! + reroll against 1 unit. (you can get the run and shoot for generic sky ports.)

You need : 2 frigates, 1 ironclad, 2 Arkanauts with 3 sky hook each + 2 khemist = (1520pt) you can add a third frigate+comp if you want to maximise first round alpha or other stuff if you want to play save ( 10 thunderers and 9 wardens get you to 2k)

First hero phase, Ironclad adds 2 carbines shot or 3" range.
khemist grant extra sky hook to Arkanaut.
First turn : you run and shoot with everything and woaaa that's a lot of shooting.
Each frigate is making : 7 carbines shot + 2 heavy sky cannon.
the ironclad make : 10 carbines shot + 1 great sky canon.
+ 12 light sky hook from the 2 arkanauts comp.

It's crazy and doesn't cost anything you can still play normally if you can't alpha first turn.

V) Morale fixing.

a) Surrender Is rarely profitable (footnote): once per game you can replace a batleshock test by a 1.
b) Respect your commanders : Reroll battleshock 8" of heroes. (Artycle)
c) Rising Star command trait : Use general bravery admiral is 8 so it's good.

VI) Thunderer + Detonation drills
All ships have them, Enemy UNITS ending charge 1" of this models, pile in last, doesn't work on flyer.
Thunderer instead of pile in can make a move+run to retreat ^^.

That's all for now !

I think I should let Kharadrons grow a little. Too few heroes, too many configurations, and lots of models can fulfil multiple roles. Here's hoping more nurgle stuff is incoming!

>Huge tits for attention.

No wonder people make fun of AoS

>Thread so dead he comes to shitpost in a thread of something he hates

no wonder gw had to kill your shitty game

Tell me about your dudes AoSg.

40k is not dead honey.

Just wondering why the need of tits.

>morale fixing
They have perfectly solid morale by default, an assload of bravery rerolls and their generic commander has a 24"-diameter fearless bubble. What more fixing do you need?

Bad game, bad setting, bad fans.

Yeah, butts are better.

...

I think hes on about Fantasy Battles.

But 90% of all attached pictures are there to get more people to see the post. tits work wonders when 99% of tg is single male nerds

Ghost Possessed peasantry, unit leaders are drastically more powerful at the cost of their units being shit overall representing th group of people the ghost has in their thrall.
The unit leaders would essentially count as heros but as soon as you kill one the ghost jumps to another body.
Rather than normal banners or musicians the ghost could choose to act as one or the other, like a wailing spectre or a venerated ancestor.

Their elite units could just have more of these per increased numbers. Think a unit of foot knights with say three unit leaders, at the head of hordes of peasants rallied by spirits inhabiting their bodies.

They dont' become slaves, they become elementals, pretty much.

thats pretty spooky

but unless their cheap battleline doesnt have 7 different weapon profiles including d6/3+/3+/-2/d3 attacks and the ability to teleport to the other side of the battlefield if your opponent wears clothes they wont be able to keep up with new units

Nah.

That place looks comfy as fuck

SO! guys i saw the wight king models and figured i fucking NEED the one with the black axe in my life. How do you play Death/skeletons? There organsiation of the subfactions is abyssmal to say the least. What will i need to start an army? Are there any other models that look like this wight king? like armoured skeletons instead of just naked skellies with shield/sword?, im looking for an army box or simillar equivalent of models with the wight king as an added hero bonus as a start. any help is greatly appreciated!

You sound defeated user, and I figure the leader would have to have a different weapon profile for simplicities sake. Thank you for the compliment though.

the overlords battletome looks amazing. GW has really taken it to the next level with this one.

Wait, is that from the battletome?

That's gorgeous.

Grave guard are armored. Get the start collecting skeleton horde box and those.

>Running pure Skellies
3x 40 man squads of Skellies
at least 2 squads of 5 Black Knights
Wight Kings w/ Banner
Necromancer

>Are there any other models that look like this wight king

No. He used to be a special/unique character in WHFB, and when they moved him to AoS he lost that. So he was supposed to look unique before. The closest thing would be Grave Guard.

>im looking for an army box or simillar equivalent of models with the wight king as an added hero bonus as a start

Death really got fucked over by the Start Collecting! boxes. The only one that isn't shit is the one for Flesh-Eater Courts, the others all have 2 factions (can't make an army out of them as easily) and/or a unique character (can't buy the box 3 times and have a functional army).

How you play Death/Skeletons is you buff the fucking hell out of giant skeleton blocks. Use Wight Kings and possibly Necromancers to buff the Skellies.

Consider the following 1k list as an example
>Wight King with Black Axe (120) - General (Red Thirst, Tomb blade)
>Necromancer on Nightmare (120)

>20 Skeleton Warriors with spears and shields (160)
>20 Skeleton Warriors with spears and shields (160)

>10 Grave Guard with Great Wight Blades (160)
>10 Black Knights (240)

I assume so, it is one they shown on stream while discussing the battletome. Most of what we have seen so far has been pretty good as well, the skyports have a nice aesthetic to them in which they aren't a typical looking utopia.

Still though, Overlords look like they will struggle at 1000 points, since their only battleline is the Arkanaut company.
They aren't terrible by any means, their save and attack profile actually makes them somewhat versatile, it's just I feel that second 120 points would be better spent on something else.

grave guard look like him

That's why I said "the closest thing"
But Grave Guard actually look waaaay more like the other Wight King model and/or Vampire Counts units from WHFB in general. The Black Axe Wight King's armour is similar to Chaos Warrior armour (for a reason).

Im just salty about the fact that since the ironjawz battletome all new Units get so many crazy toys and rules which kinda makes the game unplayable against battletome armies when youre just playing "basic" armies with 2 4+/4+/-/1 attacks and no shooting at all for the same points cost and even their ranged dudes are half as good as your dedicated melee troops in close combat.

I play Death and chaos (Warriors, slaanesh and skaven) and its just impossible to win against semi-optimised Stormcast/sylvaneth/Ironjawz/tzeentch
I cant even blame the Ironjawz player he just plays the only 6 units he has

the start collecting box is unattractive unless youre confident you want the mortarch as your warlord. Wait a week I believe the skeleton warriors are getting a retributor type AoS reboxing as in 20 man boxes soon

id go as far and drop the black knights. and get 40 man skeleton blocks

You mean liberator.

Thank you all for the tips. As i thought youd need 5000 skeletons to make a 1k pts army, which is a damn shame to say the least. That mortarch looks like the exact opposite of what i want sadly. spooky scary skeleton that is a wizard (i hate wizardry hence i used to field gordrakk alot) that looks way too out there for my taste. i just want armoured skeletons that are more "knight" looking like that wight king. seems like using grave guard as skeleton warriors would be quite pricey since you need like 120 of them in a single low pt army.

>all new Units get so many crazy toys and rules which kinda makes the game unplayable against battletome armies when youre just playing "basic" armies

I noticed this too

Unless you play at a GW store, you should also consider buying third party skeletons on the cheap. Mantic comes to mind as their skeletons look rather 'knightly' to me, but I know they're not to everyone's taste.

GW will never ever update the old/legacy armies either. They'll be soft-squatted like SoB and to a lesser extent Tyranids/Orks: no new models, no new fluff, unplayably shit, no updates ever, maybe if you're lucky you'll get 1/2 an army list in a White Dwarf in 12 years.

>what are Bonesplitterz, Seraphon, Flesh-Eater Court and Skaven Pestilens

They had releases at launch though. Exiles, Wanderers, etc will be squatted completely and replaced. The others (Bretonnia for example) will just linger 5ever

great, the frigate and admiral are out of stock already

Grave guard and black knights are your bros.

have you looked at Morghasts yet?

I'm pretty drunk but i can give you the word up when it comes to Skellies

Death is by far the least supported faction fo AoS and i t really shows. Hence if you want to run a "elite Skellie" army you will effectively havw to go

>2 x 40 skellie warriors with spears
>Wight king w/banner
>Necromancer
> 1x5 Black Nights
Which is frankly boring as fuck

2k is where Death reattle can shine, but is still effectively spamming

Another attempt at a 1000 point army from a newcomer:

>Orruk MegaBoss (General with Bellowing Tyrant, Battle Brew)

>20 Orruks (Choppa and Shield)
>40 Moonclan Grots (Spears and Shields, Bad Moon Icon)

>Giant (Behemoth)

>2 Doom Diver Catapults (War Machine)

Will the Doom Divers compensate for my absence of ranged infantry? And will the omission of Wizards be fatal to this composition? I've considered changing to 30 Orcs, 30 Goblins and trading the Giant for three River Trolls. I could also exchange the Giant for three Wolf Chariots and a Wolf Riding Goblin Warboss, if speed provides a substantial tactical advantage.

Yeah no
it's filled with noxious smoke and acid rain

>Will the Doom Divers compensate for my absence of ranged infantry? And will the omission of Wizards be fatal to this composition? Dude, Youre playing a unsupported army without a battletome no surplus or lack of anything or tactical advantage will help you against 3++ Map teleporting Melee units with 3+/3+ Boltpistols or Artillery Treepeople in spookforests

just play a ironjawz Ironfist its broken at 1000-1500 points. get a megaboss a warchanter and a weirdnob and then get brutes(!) and ardboys until youre out of points. you then place your heros and set up your battalion as the last thing before your opponent places his last unit to guarantee you the 2nd turn so you have a 50/50 chance of getting a doubleturn that allows you 2x 2d6 movement in the hero phase guarenteeing you close combat.

Or you spam Mammoth-riders with Beastclaw raiders.

You dont need much mobility when you can move 2d6 in your herophase you dont need range when youre in melee turn 2. you dont need tactical advantage if you table your opponent turn 2 on a 50/50 roll of at the end of the first battleround

what bonus' do you get for not mixing subfactions?

extra powerful battleline choices

but if i want to field lots of low point arrow fodder battleline anyway that wouldnt matter right?

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately I have to build the list around the models I already own. I collected the models listed in my post some time ago based on their aesthetic appeal, without having considered the game itself at all.

That guy was a butthurt WAACfag anyway, ignore him

>cancer game
What could you expect?

>That guy was a butthurt WAACfag anyway

actually I think he was correct on every point.

that having been said, I don't think you have to care about winning. Lots of people just like to collect and paint models and play fluffy games.

Some of the newer books give those subfactions their own Artifacts, Command abilities, and battle traits. You can also unlock different units for battleline.

war-of-sigmar.herokuapp.com/bloggings/1892#disqus_thread

Got called a scumbag today at my local because I ran kroak and vortex with a fairly weak seraphon army against some bullshit WAAC tzeentch mortal wounds spam list with two LoCs.

But ofc someone on the internet said that the combo was op and that it should win games by itself. I didnt even win, I got destroyed by mortal wounds before I even got to combat.

I wasnt even trying to be a scumbag about it I wrote the list that morning to see if the combo was actually as good as I heard, and I played against the list he plays every fucking day.

Man Im salty about it. I even said to him I was just trying it out and he has the fucking nerve to call me a scumbag over it.

Pardon the spam, but:
Anybody here into Nurgle? I'm in need of the two smaller brothers of the Glottkin, if anybody wants a big blobby Nurgle daemon for cheaper than in-store, let me know. We'll work something out.

3 units of minimum size tzaangors + the infinite horrors battalion + as many wizards as possible

15 18" range mortal wounds a turn +10-15 more mortal wounds from spells per turn. also a chaff buffer that cant be removed from the table.

>the infinite horrors battalion
>also a chaff buffer that cant be removed from the table

he has to pay point for anythim spawned

The sooner you stop playing/associating with wankers like him the happier you'll be

>15 18" range mortal wounds a turn
that would mean there is 10 WIZARD within range of the 3 tzaangors units
literraly impossible.
And I play DoT in an ultra competitive environment.

You literraly got cheated

This

As someone you face tzeentch quite often that looks really fishy.
does "infinite horror" mean pic related ?
Are you playing 5000 points ?

>he has to pay point for anythim spawned
only if you're not adding them to an existing unit. you would never not add them to an existing unit.

>10 WIZARD literraly impossible
between the pink horrors, the 3 tzaangor shammans on disk formation, 1 greater tzeentch daemon and the others I think I was able to shoehorn in 13 into a 2500 point list. I can't remember how many were in the 2000 point version.

if you mean splitting things, you definetly have to pay points to split pink horror into blue.
You also cannot grow past your starting size without paying points as per the ghb.

A unit of 10 or 100000 horror still cou t as 1 (One) single wizard

if you split a pink into blues and there is a unit of blues nearby that isn't at the unit size it started the game with you can add the blues to that unit without paying points.

>A unit of 10 or 100000 horror still count as 1 (One) single wizard
obviously

If I take a Frigate in an army otherwise comprised of Dispossessed, will it receive any of the 'code' bonuses? Also would appreciate someone repositing the Karadron points from last thread

Learn the basic rules before you post ffs

save them

Thanks!

How many people are going to pronounce "Endrinriggers" incorrectly?

Out of curiosity, was going back one thread too much effort?

yes

i'll just call them : niggas

It's a terrible marketing idea to make up a compound word that puts the letter N right before the word Rigger
Every time I read the word my mental voice says "Eden nigger"

ENDRINIGGERS

Locally (non-English-speaking country) the Endrin is already mutated into Engine, so you can imagine how that's going...

Alright im going to try to charge into your engine niggers

Honestly, I find my critics personally appalling. I mean, I give these simple creatures jobs maintaining my luxirious aircraft. True, the conditions are hazardous, but their physiology makes them adept at surviving in such crude conditions. But really you should be thanking me for helping out those ni- riggers.

Yeh he had the respawning horrors, some tzaangors, two locs, some shooty disks and some wizards.

I find the fact that this guy can go toe to toe with the Celestant Prime only with the power of money hilarious.

To be fair, the Celestant-Prime is kinda shit. Much funnier is the fact that he can potentially saw apart fucking Archaon in one one turn.

I did a cursory search of the catalogue and didn't find the previous thread, thought it must be gone by now. Apologies if I've annoyed you.

It archives.

>being this salty about a game this shitty

Previous thread is always linked in the OP.

>Are there any other models that look like this wight king?

No. Krell is an absolutely incredible model, and nothing GW has put out for Warhammer/AoS in the last few years come close to it in terms of quality or design philosophy.
