Pretty sure the point of "comfydark" is that "spooky/creepy things are happening near you, but they're either neutral (i.e. don't generally inconvenience you or otherwise bother you unless you bother them first) or outright beneficial (e.g. poltergeist cleans your room when you're out and about)".

Elise is hands down the best option. Modest pay in a relaxed atmosphere is the holy grail of jobs. Judging by the picture she isn't unhealthy either.

The premise of this cyoa is so dumb that I can't take it seriously. It's nice that the author seems to have realized that nobody would actually agree to accept the position and included 'But Thou Must' clause.

I picked this up several threads ago. There were several people sharing their ideas for a setting and I thought it'd make for something decent. There was also something about a CYOA for a school bully which someone else got. and some cockhead was trying to diss me too. Fuck, I remember that. Didn't know someone else had picked this one up already.

Modern as described is actually "Function over Form". The phrase "form over function" refers to something that puts more emphasis on appearance (form) than whatever it is intended to do (function), the opposite of plain and without unnecessary flair.

Youre locked and chained in her basement and your 'choices' happen in your mind as youre reminding yourself how you ended up like this. First, you think about how you met her, then few sections about the development of your 'relationship', then a section about you realizing shes crazy and trying to cut ties with her, then a section about her kidnaping you, and lastly, a section where you think about what you think shes going to do with you next.

A sprite will request things in exchange of help. A ghost will help sometimes.
Think of it like this: A sprite will ask you for x amount of sugar and in exchange it will put your keys/other important items always in an easy to see place. A ghost will do the same thing for free but you may also find your glasses, your toothpaste or soap in there as well.

In any case I'm burned out on comfydark since my last CYOA was very comfy and very dark which is why I thought a comfydark apartment CYOA might also tap into those same vibes.

I suggest one of two things:
+ Buff the job. Make it so that this job will let you make connections into the film industry. You'll leave Zoe behind, but whatever, man, maybe she'll still be your friend. I realize she won't be your boss anymore, but that's what makes this option unique? The downside is you have to have the social skills to make use of those connections.
+ Buff Zoe slightly. Maybe make her romantically interested in you.... buuuut she's asexual (this maintains most of the "deterrent" that you seem to be going for). Kissing, hugs, cuddling, that's all fine, and she'll let you touch her chest, but she won't let you touch her down there. Ever. Maybe after a year of dating she'll feel bad and start to give you handjobs, though, but it'll be as nonsexual (on her end) as giving you a neck massage.

I have a hard time believing people will misunderstand Cindy's requirement. Not only because it seems obvious that "past midnight" means "from midnight until dawn" but also because "It's never safe to go home" is a pretty fucking stupid idea on a CYOA about getting yourself a home.

You don't propose an idea you're going to make into a cyoa. You ask for feedback on an idea you're working on as a cyoa. If you just say "hey wouldn't this be a cool cyoa?" someone may just very well do it.

I will have to ask why Cramped allows you to have guests but not flatmates. If anything flatmates would get used to the mess while guests still trip over themselves. So far all the Landlords are equal in worth, except possibly for Lina as we don't know anything about sprites yet.

Stop looking on boorous and start looking on places like artstation and even deviantart. on DA you'll sort through a ton of crap though. Use google search for various types of fairies and put in "artwork" as a secondary search term to help.

Personally I think the term should be changed from guest to something elseas guest implies someone who came and stayed with you for a few days, and then goes home. Maybe something like flatmonster, or playmate or tenant.

You can have mutants going to war with the non-mutants, robots becoming sapient and trying to kill all non-robots, raiders trying to form a community (like Caesar's Legion or something). Probably something like that but on a smaller scale.
