First for the Fists!

And because I know y'all are gonna ask

Veteran Squad Ralathor is nearly done, rest of them aren't getting in the picture because I don't have a good enough camera for group shots sadly.

Third for the Seventeenth!

Lord Aurelian bids us to make war upon the Legions of Grey.

By our Word, his will be done!

I saved the image on January 11.

I still fucking love this model, good job mate

Xth for the Loyalist Third!

Oi Space Yiff, you should make the next thread.

Reeeeeee fuck you! I'm sorry, is that what you wanted to hear?

...

t. Vulkan

>replying to him

Who is which primarch? I can only tell Magnus the red from a glance.

>Space marines are Scouts, Devastators, and Assault marines before becoming Tacticals

Why don't they go from the general purpose role in the specialist ones?

Is it still frowned upon to play Ordo Reductor even with only 2 artillary tanks?

Pretty much.

Tacticals are generalists in the sense they're able to do all the jobs Scouts, Devastators and Assault marines do.
Those three kinds of marines only need to focus on learning a single discipline, while Tacticals must master them all, and are expected to recall on each to do their job.
It's jack of all trades, masters of ALL. And it only goes up from there.
At least that's in 40k. In 30k they're fresh from teenhood.

Angron, Mortariom, Fulgrim, Lorgar, Horus, Magnus, Kurze, Perturabo, Alpharius.

Sanguinius, Leman Russ, Khan, Dorn?, Guilliman, Lion, Ferrus, Vulkan, Corax

Nah. I think reaching the unsanctioned number of Vultarax is easier than of OR siege engines. As a Reductor, you're supposed to use the later; it's half of their faction rules.

Thanks bro.

does anyone mind checking my list through? user from a couple threads ago, finally decided on Iron Hands and SoH for now. going for the clan morragul paint scheme and, true to them being crazy fuckers, an army that can hold its own in melee.

with the lack of transports for most infantry and the iron hands being a pretty slow legion, I'm kinda concerned about them getting outrun or swept. then again, with going for just no RoW and some SoH allies that might be mitigated. of course this is all hypothetical atm, I hardly have a ten-man squad done. got a long way to go before smashing moons into traitor shits!

I would run more anti-tank and get your leviathan a drop pod. It will be very rough without transports as more mobile lists will just out position you. And objective games will be rough with the majority of your army footslogging it

Sweet Sanguinius why?

Anyone do much scenario play? I know there's a lot of all the books devoted t this scenario and that scenario, how much do people actually use them?

Also however many for Legions using unconventional weapons and vehicles
TFW no Hades... we even know they existed at the time thanks to the Morty memepic

why let that stop you? Fuck the rules, man. Narrative above all.

How do the Kriegers use their Hades drills? I was thinking they could have some use in ZM, but perhaps they'd be OP?

Does anyone know what happened to the Mega folder with all of the audio books?

How do they use them? They're mostly for tunneling beneath the trenches to either pop up behind traitor lines, or to try and breach enemy tunnels. I mean, in terms of fluff a Hades could be used for tearing holes through walls in tunnels (or even sufficiently large enough bases/starships). In terms of actual rules, I have no idea how that could be established or balanced.

>In terms of actual rules, I have no idea how that could be established or balanced.
Well that was what I was asking. It's like drop pod with melta cutters for them, right? Like underground Dreadclaws?
Imagine the power of a tunneling transport in ZM. One that has a melta weapon.

I'd honestly probably just use them as gussied-up Rhinos with dozers, but that's just me.

Imo, it'd probably have to be house-ruled, and that both sides agree on using it (and probably that both have a drill to use). Perhaps that a Hades could clear an inch or two in length of material a turn while it is in contact with solid terrain. That would allow infantry a means to try and circumvent enemy kill-zones and firing lanes.

Or it could be like a map feature! Models with Battlesmith may move it and use its melta drill when 1" or less away from it.
That's a similar rule to how they fluffed broken tanks littering the sands of Istvaan V

Aaaaaay, another IHbro. Okay list, but you're missing a good deal of effective anti-tank; levies are good, but slow without a pod.

desu you're missing out on a lot of the legion advantages, tax squads aren't doing a ton either. Archeotech pistol is a waste, may want Gorgons instead of Reggo termies, flamers isn't an IH-friendly style, you need more transports.

I'm sure there's more, but generally you're losing a lot to overspending on upgrades/units that don't need anything else

So lads, thinking about getting into HH. Does anyone actually play Militias and Cults, or have you seen them played? Is running them with Cyber-Augmented and Survivors of a Dark Age actually decent?

I'm just wondering, because I could have a lot of fun kitbashing and converting an army like that on my own with shit I already have before I start shovelling out dollaridoos for resin crack.

Fully painted is for closer fggt

Is that a Siege Breaker? How are you supposed to use those guys besides "stand with that Heavy Support squad doing nothing"?

No idea. I just did him cause he looks cool and the fluff I have for him fits the role.

you use them in conjunction with a heavy weapon squad or to get phosphex quad mortars

Play BAngels and sit him with your ass cannons in a fort/stormlord, with artillery scorching the earth from the rear and blobs of angels descending to cleanse the survivors with bolt and blade

traitor III legion best legion and primarch perfection incarnate

I put my siege breaker with my justaerin. Justaerin multi meltas get tank hunters and wrecker. Plus phosphex bombs aren't too bad.

put hhg in the thread title you fucking degenerate

...what the hell was that?

Anons, how do you deal with painting the same colors over and over again for your legion? I know that each one I will get better at that scheme, but it's getting boring. Like I'm seriously considering starting a new army for variety.

Um... I like painting yellow? Really not much to say beyond that...

My making each marine a little different from the rest. And by painting all of the rank and file marines before the sergeants or the commanders.
This will make sure those marines have the best paint job, and it helps as a little self reward for the paint session.

Was the First Company of the Death Guard all termies? I'm assuming not, considering the entire 100,000 legion was only split into seven companies. Just trying to iron out some fluff for my dudes.

>"Aaaaaahhh shut the fuck uuuuup!!"
Atributed to Saul Tarvitz

>our boy Tarvitz mentioned

B-Black Library are just keeping him in storage until he does something cool for the loyalists in a short story, r-right bros?

I don't know, user. Such a company would be 13500 strong. What I do know is the DG had loooooots of termies, even in places you wouldn't expect to have lots of termies, like Poison ships on independent pilgrimages.
Most termies were Barbarans, but if you were going for loyalist Pride of the Legion wearing termie plate, you could fluff that as well.
What are you looking for, man?
He's not Loken, so he's ded fo sure.
F

F

The fuck is this from? Is this naught but a ruse?

Drop Assault, a 30k mobile game set on Istvaan III. Since that Saul is hostile, the player may have chosen Horus' side. I chose the Emprah, so Angron is the one opposing me.

I'm playing Traitor DG, but Terran-born to do something a little differently. Idea is they were drawn from outcast radwaste tribes rather than warrior aristocracy like Garro, so they saw something of themselves in the grim character of the Barbarans and fiercely embraced their new foster culture/father.

I was gonna have them firmly in Typhon's pocket even before Isstvan III, likely through the Lodges, but was just wondering if I could say they were under his command as First Captain, too.

The question isn't whether I could run Termies (I know DG had a lot of them) but whether I would need to run all-Termies for a fluffy 1st Company list. I don't intend to, so for lack of official clarification I'm just gonna assume the DG's Terminators were distributed fairly evenly throughout their ranks.

The idea is they were away engaged in nomad-predation manoeuvres when the Horus Heresy actually kicked off, perhaps assigned by their lodge-brothers to use it as a cover to search for a tainted artefact. I'm also going to use the Dusk Raiders scheme on them because that's what my 40k CSM use, and I know that's normally a Loyalist schtick, but that's why I wanted to say the core of the unit are Terran.

F

Well there are tunnelling rules for it which make it perhaps the second scariest thing in ZM after Mortarion himself or running into a Leviathan, though the fact that it's a "transport" that no-one can embark upon is a bit dumb.

Also there's 2 versions of the rules (because there's 2 Kreig lists) and pretty much the only thing that's the same is the cost.

I think you might have to add some tax, but yeah, they'd be very scary in ZM if you agreed to get around the transport thing

I have to say, after reading Angel Exterminatus I don't really get the derision towards Perturabo. I think he's a much more interesting character than many of the Primarchs, especially the traitors. Sure Pert is a bitter asshole but at least he's understandable and fairly reasonable. Don't get me wrong, he's definitely a bad guy. I'd say he's a high-tier Primarch.

>ONLY ONE TWIN
REEEE, YOU HAD ONE JOB.

I admire Perty boy as one of the better traitor primarchs. Better than Conrad Cunt by far as far as neutral baddies go.

Whats the best way to get the wet mud effect??

After reading Angel Exterminatus, I thought Pert has Asperger's syndrome

It's mostly people screeching about him being a bland autist. He and Magnus are two of the more interesting and tragic of the traitors.

I think he's quite likeable since he's a traitor but without all the chaos dick sucking.
Just got fed up with it all, and wanted to go back to his legos

its the scene where he beats the shit out of fulgrim with a miniature warhound that really cemented my enjoyment of his character

>beats the shit out of fulgrim with a miniature warhound
... putting Angel Exterminatus at the top of my book list!

Fulgrim is such an intolerable prick in that book.

Question: Do knights attached to SM legions wear their host legion's iconography in any fashion?

Do we know the actual contents of any Mechanicum Canticles other than that Litany of Ignition one? I kind of want to try adding some scripture to my Macrocarid and my Myrmidons need a battlecry. Other than "DELET THIS", I mean.

You be the judge of it user! :)
They are your guys after all. Could be a lady freeblade pilot that hankers after some Spehss Muhreen gloots of the Centurion/Praetor she is attached to, could be an old poker buddy of the legion's Primarch sending a knight or 60 with a certain expeditionary force, could be the mechanicum being like, "Test this fucking madmax robot titan we wired someon's fucking brain into! 001010101010001!!!!!"

Entirely your call

Generally they have their own colours, but it wouldn't be out of place if you painted them up in legion colours.
The knights fluff is pretty vague in the first place.

what are optimal squad sizes for custodes? and which squads are best to take the mag vex?

Just remember that Angel Exterminatus and Extermination/Crimson Fist/Tallarn are two different and incompatible portrayals. AE Peturabo isn't the sort to decimate his Legion the way the FW/Tallarn version did. French and Mcneil must hate each other.

MSU is the way to go unless you desperatly want a Haeteron deathstar.
Incidentally, the vexila is kind of a waste outside of said Haeteron deathstar.

Depends on the household in general; Hawkshroud for example incorporates some iconograpy from their host forces as marks of honor. Going full legion colors is not gonna fly, though way too many people do that anyway.

RG player from that game here.

The main problem with that custodes guy is that he doesn't know how to self-regulate. Known the dude since high school and it's been a constant problem for him all his life.

All I can say is that I am glad we played that game so now I won't have him nagging me about playing him anymore.

I will play against his army nevermore.

does the msu hold true even when taking transports into account rather than teleporting? thanks

Which primarch is the most chuuni?
I feel like the obvious answer is magnus, but who's next?

The only time i've been able to do meaningful amounts of damage to them i.e. wipe them out before they wipe me out has been when they're minimum sized, so maybe five? Three is good, but they can be beaten, five arent dying unless they get an entire army's worth of s10 ap2 dumped on them

I wouldn't know, my transports have yet to arrive, but I would assume no. Rather, I'd go five guys or four and a shield-captain instead, since they'll need to wheather at least a full turn of shooting before getting stuck in. A vexila might not be out of place, either.

How incompetent the Primarchs must have been, when they had literally every possible advantage (even 4 Primarchs themselves) on their side but took months on already-bombarded Loyalists and had to rely on Exterminatus at the end?

I'm talking about Isstvan 3 btw.

As incompetent as it gets being fiction characters created by some british manchildren

Don't get me wrong, I got a 7 foot golden gun-halberd sized erection ffor the Telemon, but why did they make a model without rules in book 7 before they made models for the Aquilion terminators?

Also while I am blindly wishlisting I would really like a Custodes weapons set, i.e a bunch of solarite weapons and some adrathic and pyrithite spears

I never take anything smaller than five, and it's a very safe number. Works in every vehicle and has a well rounded number of wounds with attacks.

FW modellers do whats cool then fill in the rank and file units, FW rules-writers make army lists with basic units then write rules for the cool shit when the model's finished

Made a 3,000 point Custodes list and was looking for some feedback if at all possible. Mind you I can sub out the Tribune for Valdor if possible or desired.

Picture of my finally finished Custodes squad. Still fucking around with lighting to little luck, to see if I can get the shades of gold to look better on screen.

Will probably add lightning effect to the blades later on, but I'm in no hurry and aside from giving them a coat of Purity Seal, and the gems a dab of gloss, they're all done!

Well yeah the primarchs are retarded, some like angron are literally so. By the time the heresy proper happens the only sane traitor primarchs are pertruabo and mortarion. By the time of the siege it's only pertruabo.
Angron - always retarded due to nails
Fulgrim - retarded due to daemonic possession
Lorgar - retarded due to chaos worship
Horus - heavily influenced by the chaos gods, basically subliminal retardation
Alpharius - drank the xenos kool aid, caused him to act like a retard if not actually be one
Magnus - bamboozled by Tzeentch
Curze - it's Curze

Mortarion held it together well enough until Typhon gave everyone aids and pertruabo was probably the least changed by things until he got DP'd.

Also I play dark angels and thousand sons so it's not like I'm biased against non-retarded primarchs.

in a Breacher Squad the give them Tank Hunters on their meltas and Phosphex bombs to goad targets into close combat. Also access to Phosphex in Quad launchers

IW here so my heavy weapons squads already have Tank Hunter (and BS5)

and I know Breachers are overcosted but they look cool.

fun little FTP game for playing while shitting

Afraid not, meltaguns aren't Heavy so the siege breaker does nothing for them, ohhhh vienna.

Other than Magnus (who even has the one eyed powerful red mage thing going on) probably either Lorgar or Curze.

So what's it worth trying to melee Custodes with? Ursarax with dual fists will do a good job on their basic infantry and vehicles, but will probably mutual kill any unit with more than one Solarite Gauntlet. Arlatax don't have the strength, Myrmidons lack numbers. Levies and Adsec work by tarpitting. Domitars or Wrecker Castellax, maybe? Forcing disordered charges against T7 S4 MCs may well mitigate return damage. Have we finally found a use for smashy robots?

Sekhmets with Force Axes should do the trick.

implying there will be a single robot left after their bullshit instant kill guns of many flavors have raped your smashy high toughness gear to death

Do they ever explained what got Kor and Erebus into Chaos ass-sucking? Or Colchisian worship in general?

See, here's ya problem, yer tryin' to beat custodes in melee. Ain't goona work, pal.

Sorry, just following up to the user that wondered what happened to RGBro: I went to my first HH event and had such a shit time playing actual autists that I put the whole hobby on pause for a few months.

>Fuck pure Knight armies
>Fuck autists who don't get why these sort of armies are shit

have you actually built a list? which guns are you talking about?

explain why? how different from full tank or full robot or full drop pod or full vet? typical salt incoming?

I'm all for themed lists and even with my infantry strong list I'd have enjoyed going up against, say, a very tank heavy list if only for the experience.

This guy though took full advantage of my inexperience to bend the rules, running and then charging his Knights up to 36 inches and using large blast markers to stomp entire assault squads off the table, etc

>pic completely unrelated
