Anonimi Thread: The Resurgence

The Anonimi, a race based on the user's of Veeky Forums and all the boards they inhabit. In a world that is inhabited by and based on the Internet.

The first of the Archived Threads from last year.

Let's get to it lads.

This thread will focus on world building and creating concepts for things based on terrain, climate, and how the Anonimi, being as small as they are, deal with it. Anything from homes, transportation and even clothing/equipment.

So, I'm thinking of mountainous terrain and think Aut/o/mans would be really great here as they can make machines and stuff from the minerals mined and scrap melted inside mountain strong holds.

Clan intelli/g/ent would probably fit in the mountains as well. Maybe they can all be mountain clans tinkering away, the /m/echanist too

Sailing in a dingy.

Where is everyone, I mean really!

I've been thinking about other parts of the setting, wither or not the scavenging is being done from living inhabitants or not. I think if we go with the Anonimi picking things up from long dead civilizations of normal sized beings, we'd have more options.

Like urban areas, a village of a long dead people, with Anonimi using a building as a large shelter and hub while they scavenge the place. Give the borrower esque feel to them, like intended.

I'm guessing there are different species of Anonimi? One for each board, right?

That's what it seems. Shame not many people seem to be interested. This seems cool.

OwO. It does seem cool.
I've never touched DnD so I don't know whether or not each race has perks that only they are able to take. If it does work like that, I can already imagine all the perks that would be available to Anonimi.

>The legends say the Aut/o/mans were created by divine intervention from the gods themselves:
>Keiichi Tsuchiya, Colin McRae, Stirling Moss, and Henry Ford
>They descended on the land on loud, angry machines, ones that snarl & growl at rest and holler & scream with agony at full speed
>With them also came the tools & knowledge required to maintain these machines, although the knowledge of creating more examples has been lost to time
>Sadly, more and more of these machines are being destroyed by accident & war and reclaimed by the land, so owning onecertainly commands the respect (and sneering) of fellow Veeky Forumstists

Yes indeed!

It's not that there isn't any interest, it's just the newbloods and the old bloods aren't on or seeing that the thread is up again.

You're right, there are perks for each one and even a few racial traits, with an anger/rage trait that's similar to having your Jimmies Rustled or being Triggered by something.

>Keiichi Tsuchiya, Colin McRae, Stirling Moss, and Henry Ford
We can actually work them in as mythical figures in the lore to some degree.

>With them also came the tools & knowledge required to maintain these machines.
This is good!

>although the knowledge of creating more examples has been lost to time
Not so good! They are not mini tech priest! I'm not recreating 40k again! It actually happened last time!

>The somewhat incompetent but relentlessly determined and deludedly optimistic /diy/mons are a mostly benign race of tinkerers who delight in self-reliance and in oftentimes seemingly arbitrary endeavors like fixing objects they could never possibly use themselves.

I like this! Stubborn builders, tinkers and repairmen doing the jobs that other, more specialized, Anonimi usually do! Though not as good as a specialist who focuses on one or two things, they can pretty much tinker with everything to a reasonable degree.

>The /gif/oi are a nomadic race seemingly without conscience. They spend their lives in pursuit of carnal delights and bloodshed, their nomadic tribes more akin to marauding armies.

>A subspecies of /gif/oi known as the O/wsg/a, also spending their lives in constant movement, have similar objectives of self-gratification but of far less exploitative nature, relishing music and mirth more highly, and frowning upon the excesses of their cousins.

I got some brainstorming done on borders, r8 and improve it

Don't you mean boarders?

Interesting!

While I commend you for the effort and applaud you for some of the names I do have to bring up something.

The Anonimi are small,
>pic related
and the landmass is actually normal sized for you or me. While giving them territory to work with is all nice and fine, this is excessive as all hell. And you've got /tv/ right in Tumblr Witch Territory too!

ah, I think I get it now.

That was bad and you should feel bad.

(?)

If you could confine and spread out all the Anonimi across the southern portion of the landmass, that would be grand!

Has /b/ already been done?

They're called /b/arbarians and besides being generally disliked and a few idea for their racial trait, they're pretty much open for suggestions.

Here comes a comparatively long one. I'll post when I get home.

...

Universally known as /b/ (and universally reviled), the /b/ have many names and no lands to speak off. Instead they seem to appear within population of the many peoples of the Anonimi seemingly without explanation. While it is socially damaging to many Anonimi to be related to /b/ it is speculated that as many as 1 in 10 seemingly normal people are /b/. Their behavior is most frequently obnoxious and self-destructive, and many /b/ may go most of their lives without realizing what they are. Seemingly having traits of many or all Anonimi the only identifiable characteristic of /b/ is their uniform capriciousness. Given most frequently to acts of discord that would offend even the more base people of the Anonimi, /b/ are also capable of baffling acts of benevolence on rare occasions. There are many theories regarding /b/ and what they mean for the species as a whole, and as many names. Among the Veeky Forumsentists, the more cerebral and analytical of the Anonimi the predominant theory is that they are a genetic throw back to the Anonimi primal ancestors with diminished capacity and seemingly no distinct traits of any one people, they are a/b/orations. Among the more fanciful Anonimi they are thought to be /b/org, extraterrestrials who can be identified by their incomprehensible nature and tendency to conglomerate into an almost singular consciousness for brief periods of time. Among the contentious /pol/acks they are called a/b/originals and regarded as evolutionary by-products, a defunct branch of the tree. However the vast majority simply believe them to be ordinary Anonimi only really really retarded, hence their prevailing moniker, /b/tards.

Anonimi hailing from the mountainous land of /co/ are known for their advances in illusions and tricks of the eye. They are famous for producing a particular kind of bard called a s/co/p who uses small tinkered machines to create illusions of tiny dark figures moving across a piece of paper with a light behind it. These are really just tricks of the eye done with mirrors and lots of little drawings, but these illusions accompanied by the song and lyric poetry of the s/co/p is a time-honored form of entertainment in their land. The politics of /co/ is deeply rooted in the s/co/p, so much so that the quality of a noble's court s/co/p can make or break their reputation and power.

The traditional garb of a s/co/p is a small fabric mask that obscures the wearer's eyes, a wide-brimmed blue hat, and an ascot tied around the neck, and a long flowing overcoat.

That's pretty cool! The shadow puppet thing.

Would be neat to work out a full skeleton for later, when we create the 2Spookies. Trying to figure out where they would congregate. In the more extreme areas of each biome for sure, but where would that be?

On the mountains I can see them being near the top where it gets colder maybe... or in deep caves. Swamps would make sense too, rising out of the muck. Dense and dark wood, where the tree roots are really gnarly and full of thorny plants.
