Looks like a very clean-cut cast; I'd give it a go. That's a super low price for a recast too.
Adrian Bailey
Well, the product image could be the original rather than the cast, that's the main reason I asked if anyone had experience with it.
Kevin Brooks
Great, now both threads are dead. Thanks you dolt.
Jace Robinson
Still need to know what each primarch would look for in a waifu.
Thomas Reed
Still pretty new to the game, so I have a question: Is there any way to get a second specialist ccw on a WE terminator praetor? I'd like to think I have a fairly neat conversion idea for the praetor, but the idea of having to put a gun there is annoying...
Levi Cruz
What, the inspiration for that stormcast? Nah, that came about when I was experimenting with various crests for the helmet and showed them to /wip/ on a lark, who then promptly bullied me into sticking to the twintail version on account of it looking the most ridiculous.
Benjamin Edwards
How do people feel about the two weapons options on the Caladius?
AP2 4 shot autocannon vs rail cannon/4shot kraken missile launcher?
I am probably going to run one of each in 2.5k when they release the model
Liam Cox
We don't even know that yet. The guns might just as well be the two unused profiles in the custodes list.
Hudson Gutierrez
>Hate what 40k is turning into >Decide to get into Horus Heresy since it isnt braindead >drop close to $1000 on an army, 3 of the black books, and the 2 marine books >All the books will now be worthless in a month or two
Hunter Rivera
>lion has bedhair I like it >perty has lone hair DELETE >perty proudly shows off his dong rather than i just falling to the floor and he doesn't comment EHY
Wyatt Smith
>Caladius >Not telemon
Parker Carter
dual lightning claws? also claw and thunderhammer >not buying old books fr fluff
Josiah Moore
>month or two
Do you even forgeworld
Nolan Young
Ah, I meant of course in conjunction to the near-obligatory Paragon Blade.
Angel Lewis
Please ignore me, I am obviously a goddamn moron.
Adrian Baker
For the confused...
>Dorn >Curze >Fulgrim >Ferrus not sure not sure >Horus >Lion >Corax >Alphy and Oregon >Mort >Russ >Super-Saiyan the Red >some angry manlet >Khan >Pert >Lorgar >Guilliman
Kayden Perry
is that confirmed or just speculation?
Eli Hall
Vulkan and Sanguinius are pretty obvious, try harder
Wyatt Martinez
... I am most frustrated right now.
Ryan White
...
Julian Moore
I've run both and obviously one was a Count-As.
I love the Heavy Arachnus Blaze Cannon. Ran two in a game and holy shit it's amazing. Twin linked and tore through four vehicles on its own in one game that all had front armor 14. The regular Accelerator Cannon is no slouch either but I've had less positive results with it since it feels like a much better Heavy infantry killer; I haven't been able to test it against skimmers or bikes yet, sadly.
So far I feel two Caladius with HABC's are amazing and I think they're very much worth it for the ability to pop most armor with ease. Base Caladius is also amazing but they do very different jobs despite seeming so similar.
Asher Cruz
This is already in the Book 7, the Caladius comes with the Illiastus or can buy an Arachnus Heavy Blaze Cannon for 15pts
And a friendly reminder that the Caladius is the Hover Sicaran
Owen Peterson
T-there there. If it helps, this could be used as a reboot of sorts to normalize and balance stuff. The ugly transition to 8E would get rid of the power creep. Because this would be a good thing, this means FW either doesn't switch or the one thing that gets ported to 8E is the actual power creep with W4 Sekhmets dealing D6 Mortal Wounds or something.
Samuel Perez
I've still got a bit to go on the Agamatus Jetbikes, but they're getting closer to being done!
I love these things but they combine the worst of vehicle painting with infantry.
Jonathan Lopez
I just cant get over how dumb the spear design is
Nathan Green
Looking fantastic man! Keep up the good work!
Colton Stewart
I'd put the blame on the bike itself, as well on the model's inability to hold the lance like it's proper.
Liam Butler
Will the GW Dark Angels upgrade kit in Mk III/IV marines cause spontaneous demonstrations of autism in 30k players? Paying 45 britbux for a single squad of upgrades is a bridge too goddamn far.
Jonathan Wilson
Just put studs on the helmet for the winged one to make it MK V and don't use the MK VI.
Done.
Brody Jenkins
Oh, yeah. I meant to mention about the beaky, it can always go on a Warboss bosspole or something.
Carter Hall
Honestly if anyone gave you shit for using the upgrade sprue you could honestly just ask them if they're stupid since that gear doesn't invalidate the armor patterns one bit .
Nathaniel Ramirez
Asking here too since the other thread is actually dying out now: how are chainfists for busting tanks? I've only ever really seen them on paper, since up until recently no one has even bothered to touch them at my LGS (mostly 40k, starting 30k). Would a half power half chain squad be adequate for tank hunting (particularly LRs)?
Liam Jones
For Terminators? In a squad of five you only ever need two at most.
Lincoln Jackson
Yeah, they're good. armorbane+S8+AP2 means statistically you'll pen anything short of AP2, and after that you've a good chance to explode.
Pop 2-3 in a squad of termies for good general killing, or give a whole squad that and go ham on any Spartans/superheavies.
Yeah, they're good. Best generic bet out there
Aaron Cruz
Oh god damnit... oh well, I can just crosslink my posts in the old thread, since I didn't see this one...
Was wondering if you guys could critique some of the ideas I have for my Custodes Executioners in the posts above, and if you have any suggestions I'm open to hearing them as well.
Ryder Hill
Good to know. Because I made my first 5 Cataphractii with chainfists specifically with the idea of them being barfed right onto enemy Landraiders and ripping them open. I'm planning on getting another Calth box soon, so if necessary I can build the other squad with fists (or even claws) to mix and match.
Jeremiah Taylor
Must say I love how nice and smooth you get your EC's colours.
Jonathan Flores
this better be traitors and true sons of fulgrim
Joshua Allen
>Different plume colors Thank you. Can't believe I didn't think of that.
Cameron Allen
No problem mate, plus it can add some nice light colors to a very warm palette
Logan Stewart
I keep on hearing people saying that the Emperor somehow planned for the Horus Heresy happen but is that just retarded headcanon or is there some degree of lore truth to that?
Tyler Reed
I like his portrayal in Angel Exterminatus. All I'd remove is the decimation.
Anthony Torres
I'm going to have to disappoint you. The Emperor's Children may be Fulgrim's sons, but first and foremost they are the pride of the Imperium, and I plan on continuing that legacy. Thanks! The purple I use is a very strange hybrid pot (since I only own a dark purple, reds, blues, and whites for use, and will likely have to replace soon), but for comparison I think a 50/50 Xereus and Genestealer purple should be close. From there, I give it a Druchii Violet wash, and I've been starting to highlight them with Lucius Lilac (will probably get the Dechala Lilac edge paint to do it by hand rather than drybrushing). Here are the three initial test minis I made with it, built using bits I had on hand.
More than likely it is retarded headcanon (though given the shit that GW has pulled before, I am going to say that with my fingers crossed). Big E's goal was to conquer the Milky Way, reunite mankind, and remove all sources of power for the daemons of the Warp (which in theory would make them disappear). The Horus Heresy completely fucked over the Emperor's idea of getting anything done for the rest of forever, rendered him a vegetable, destroyed thousands of years of work >And short of Girlyman whipping out a magic macguffin or GW DM fiat, it is unlikely that the Imperium will ever be able to remove the flaming cactus Horus buried its collective ass.
Anthony Bell
Are you retarded?
John Thompson
I think it's less that they 'can't', and more that 30k Dangles loved using MkII and III. They would've had MkIV-VI in very limited quantities during the Heresy. If you happen to have a pair of MkVI legs lying around and wanna trim the edges off some shoulder pads, I don't see why you couldn't make one though (maybe to serve as an officer or some sort of specialist)
Easton Powell
How do you get such a solid, smooth red?
Ryan Moore
man id be really pissed if i had just bought inferno after waiting years for it, just for it to be invalidated immediately
Eli Harris
>man id be really pissed if i had just bought inferno after waiting years for it, just for it to be fucking garbage in terms of overall quality
Eli Morris
Thank fuck you didn't so your opinion can continue to be worthless, right?
Hudson Gutierrez
I know this is bait, but, man, have you even seen Inferno?
Connor Ward
>buying HH books only for the rules Opinion discarded.
Mason Torres
Has anyone played a traitor fluffed IF army? I've been catering my army as such and the face of my fellow Fist and the UM players at my shop were appalled and said it wasn't fluffy.
Henry Hernandez
Something something traitors from every legion.
Maybe they were like "hey those iron guys are pretty cool after all"
Camden Davis
I'm trying to move away from NotIron Warriors. Just a pessimistic terran vet who took a hand in the death of the thunder warriors and could see that happening in the near future. Also happens to like the smell of phosphex and exterminatus.
Joseph Kelly
Sounds like really old IWs user. It's a cool idea, it's just IW and IF are incredibly similar to begin with
Ryder Williams
Is that all the background you have for your dudes?
Leo Mitchell
>loyalist scum! nice minis ill show off my traitors when they are done they are EC as well
Kayden Cook
Can I put Caedere weapons on a World Eaters cataphract praetor? Yes, I know they are shit, but I think there are a bunch of cool conversions to be had.
Easton Hughes
Technically no because you must exchange your chainsword to get a Caedere...but Paragon blades come in any form you can ever imagine. A Paragon rocket meteor chain-hammer, for example, would be a completely valid thing to have. You just need your imagination.
Brandon Edwards
Need your help /hhg/ Which Plasma Pistols should I use for my Loctarus? If it helps I've also added the Bolt Pistols I'm using for the rest of the guys I do with I could use the Heresy pattern Pistol, but from what I can tell the only ones available in plastic are right handed
Matthew Williams
You do realize you can cut off the hands from the pistols and replace them with surplus left hands, right?
Connor Myers
So what's a good way of getting anti-tank into a Legion list? Looking at Lorgar, 5-10 Gal Vorbak, 10-20 Ashen Circle and Layak, plus a couple Vindicators, a Mortis dread and 100 Fearless Cultists. Would some more Dreadnoughts/Leviathan work? I can't just rely on summoning Plaguebearers.
My other idea was to get a Lascannon HS squad and stick Telepathy buffs on them, but that would eat valuable dice and mean my Chaplain isn't Chaplaining properly.
Connor Flores
That list sounds already awful, so just spam rapiers like everybody else.
Ethan Carter
Get some air support instead of the mortis-dread, a fire raptor/xiphon/lightning will help you with your woes.
Gavin Hill
I may be late to the party, but I had heard that 30k was staying with 7e rules until the majority of books could be rewritten at once. Is that changing?
Gavin Lewis
They're working on 8th edition rules for HH already. We don't know when, but apparently they are not far out.
Jackson Perry
Meta is reasonably chill and I like the models, and Rapiers are expensive as all hell even for FW. How is the the list awful aside from the Ashen Circle not being great? I don't really know what I'm doing with Legions yet.
Oh yeah, Lightnings. That would probably work for some anti-air too, right?
Camden Gonzalez
Xiphon removes a single aircraft a turn more-or-less guaranteed, and does decent against medium armour on the ground. While much better at exploding things than the raptor, it puts out much less overall firepower.
Fire Raptor is your gunship, it forces everything in the air to jink due to weight of s7 it puts out, and is great against rhino-chassis vehicles and non-leviathan dreads due to being able to drop loads of s6/7 against their rears.
Lightning is anti-heavy-armour, but except for popping superheavies and spartans its outclassed at everything by the others. That said, it still has some lascannons base i think.
Joshua Wright
Agamatus Jetbikes are just about done. A few more edge highlights and then onto some sealing.
Asher Collins
It's awful because it doesn't consist of leviathans in drop pods and rapier spam. Ignore that guy and make a fluffy and awesome looking army. I don't know why people play the Horus Heresy just to be WAAC faggots like in 40k
Elijah Green
It's awful because it's supposed to be a legion list, but contains barely any legionairies, but instead has shit (like 100 fucking cultists) that is not fun to fight against.
Liam Cook
Oh no someone wants to use their list that represents THEIR part of the Legion, whatever shall we do?
Anthony Wright
Pie plates. Dakka. And effective combats.
Blake Diaz
I prefer using lots of legionaries but cultists are perfectly fine in a Word Bearers army, it's not like he was using cultists in a fucking world eaters army who would probably kill them before the battle had even started
Tyler Edwards
Beakies look good on bikeys.
Josiah Moore
looking good user
Samuel Hughes
Nothing wrong with some cultists in a WB army, but when one brings a fucking primarch I expect the list to at least feel like a legion list, not a wild hodge-podge of cultists, daemons, vehicles and named characters with a token squad of Ashen Circle.
Daniel Robinson
Ok I totally agree, list needs more legionaries
William Williams
>has options >takes options I mean, cultists are fucking boring to play and boring to play against, not to mention being worse daemonettes in every possible way, but what, should you not take options? Should there be no vehicles in a list with a primarch? Should there be an anti-dread aura anywhere a numbered mistake goes? Should there be no gal vorbak in a list where Lorgar goes, despite them being seen as his blessed sons?
Jace Miller
Lightning fighter then, since there's only one Storm Eagle in the Meta and a volley of Krakens will at least make it very sad. I mainly wanted something to crack open Spartans.
I'm up against World Eaters and Death Guard for the most part, and AFAIK they're pretty damn good at anti-horde.
Two full squads of Ashen Circle, plus one or two of Gal Vorbak, all deepstriking or being levitated forward by Lorgar. I was imagining it as a Word-Bearers flavoured Primarchs Chosen, but I don't think that allows special units as Troops and I wanted the Cultists because I like the propagandists side of the Word Bearers and they seemed fun. Slightly wish that there was a way to take Ashen Circle as troops besides Layak, but he's a good summoner. I was going to make a Counts-as as head of that chapter that really like the Ashen Circle side, and basically act as evil Grey Knights. Convert horde of cultists, use them to help win the battles while summoning daemons because I like the Nurgle dudes, then REDACTED the place.
Also mental image of enemy preparing to fight a scary but mundane wall of bodies with armoured support, then just as they start thinking they can win, Ashen Circle squads leap in on pillars of flame and the Blessed Sons levitate over the masses, surrounded by a halo of psychic power as Warp rifts open and everything becomes monsters and magic and nothing they were trained for.
That was what I was worrying about, really. Feels a little disorganised. What would you suggest other than "Replace Cultists with Apothecary Tac blobs"?
Anthony Lee
>1 in 3 get a las pulser
I don't get this at all, honestly. For cheaper you could give the entire unit better guns.
Grayson Cox
I don't know user, I like your idea but tactical and support squads are the way to go if you want a more organized looking army
Joseph Reyes
I didn't want more short ranged Adrathic weapons that make the squad even more of a target and likely to be mauled. I can control 36" better with this setup and act as more effective squad killer with anti-TEQ/Vehicle abilities than by chipping my firing down to only twelve shots a turn with the chance to wound myself by accident; the tradeoff of having the ability to cause Instant Death doesn't exactly pay off against a potential 6 Lascannon shots with twelve more Anti-MEQ shots.
All Adrathic can work, but it also effectively reduces the Squads lifespan as they hunt TEQ models closer up and within rapid fire range.
Noah Morris
Since people are talking word bearers, a rules question: can a diabolist (who, like john stalvern, is a daemon) join units of normal word bearers? For ages I've been absolutely certain that daemons can't join units of non-daemons and vice versa, but I just checked the rulebook and can't find anything that says this, either under the Daemon or Independent Character special rules. Anyone know where this rule is from, or if it still applies? Feel like I'm taking cr-haos-zy pills here.
