What it says on the subject. Think of one of your PCs, and then provide a pic that resembles them (optional), and 1 to 5 songs that sum up their personality. You may mention the setting as well.
The following user will try to describe your PC based on this information, and in turn, provide pics and song of their PC, forming a chain of posts. You are encouraged to rate the acuracy of their description on a scale of 0 to 10.
Pally, possibly to a God of Justice or Vengeance. Likely a bit of an egomaniac. Armor fascination, always trying to upgrade armor even before weapons. Plays a bit like a murder hobo.
Well?
Jackson Hughes
OP here.
A mercenary who will do just about anything for a fair price. He is rather reckless and cocky. Sometimes he has romantic desires and doubts about his career.
5/10. He is actually rather humble most of the time (his main problem is wrath). If you listen more closely to the second and fourth songs, you'll notice that what he really wants is to help people and find a way to belong, despite his wrath and tendency toward black and white thinking.
Not too original, I know, but I had blast playing him.
Justin Bennett
>A mercenary who will do just about anything for a fair price. He is rather reckless and cocky. Sometimes he has romantic desires and doubts about his career.
Close. His main desire is to find his long lost love, and he'll do anything to fulfill that desire. Including taking jobs that aren't on the up and up. Not really cocky, but he can be reckless. Finding his lost love, has required magical aid, and that shit ain't cheap. Thus, he's turned to doing 'bad things' for 'bad people' to get the info he needs.
Jose Howard
>Not too original, I know, but I had blast playing him.
I've seen much worse user. And you're having fun with him. I'd score that as a win.
Dominic Phillips
Sounds interesting. Do you think his lost love might be bothered by what he has been doing when she finds out?
Daniel Ramirez
Sounds like the sort of guy that has clear objectives, reasons and ways to accomplish that objective: wants to rescue a loved one and will kill basically the whole world if necessary.
As for my character, basically picture the scenario from the old Dungeons & Dragons cartoons (or about every shitty LN as of recent) - a bunch of teenagers end up stranded in a fantasy world through some weird stuff.
Owen Sanchez
That's a huge concern, and all that keeps him from going "full evil" at times.
Hmm...I'm sorry user, I'm not getting a good mental pic here. It's likely my fault tho. I sometimes get hung up on a detail, and can't grasp the big pic.
Owen Carter
Picture the songs as the kind of stuff she'd listen to.
Adam Watson
Is that from The Bodyguard?
Ayden Long
Energetic, fun loving, and seldom 'serious'. But still driven by something. She's not jaded like a lot of adventurers are.
A zealous paladin who yearns to be a hero, but does not do the "mercy" thing.
A skulking vagabond who fancies himself a romantic hero of the people, willing to stand alone against absurd odds for what's right, but he's too clever for his own good.
Used to be a good man, but he's seen too much and has become self absorbed as well. He's damn good and he knows it. He's outwardly narcissistic but mostly dead inside.
A fast-living thrill-seeking rogue living for the next con. But all his misdeeds and bridge-burning are catching up to him.
Young woman from a military family, loses her father in war and soon after her instructor. Leads a strike team out of the city to break a siege, saving the kingdom.
Benjamin Allen
close.
Princess loses her father and saves the kingdom becoming renowned hero.
Zachary Morgan
OP here.
My PC does know the meaning of mercy. In fact, he prefers it when conflicts can be solved without violence, because then he can use his high charisma to help people (as shown by Switchfoot's Dare You To Move).
Hmm. It seems that he came across as more violent and self-centered than I intended. What might be a good choice for a fifth song that will convey his nobleness?
Carson Sanchez
The disturbed song is the one that really paints him as being a "no quarter" sort.
Nathan Sanders
Somebody of very noble heart. The kind of nonfanatical paladin that just wants to set things right, damned be the odds. Even if the world around isn't quite as just... I wonder, would this theme fit as well, or is it too pompous? youtube.com/watch?v=t6mKZCz-h78
A tranquil strength. That's clearly a veteran of many a battle. And while there's a bit of a jaded undertone, when things get serious, that motherfucker gets INTENSE. Probably without batting an eyelid, because of the horrors of wars past. Can't see himself retire peacefully. He'll die a sword in his hand.
Now for my PC. I just realized I lost my pics of her (it's a she), but it's probably fine for the guessting game.
Hard more: The setting is modern Easy mode: It's a magical girl game
Nathan Thompson
A knight sworn to protect a little girl (the princess of an occupied kingdom or the last daughter of a noble house?) is killed, but makes a deal with the devil so he can return to life and fulfill his oath. Honor before reason, responsibility before self.
>Used to be a good man, but he's seen too much and has become self absorbed as well. He's damn good and he knows it. He's outwardly narcissistic but mostly dead inside.
That is damn close. Well done. He's a bodyguard who is having second thoughts about how his life turned out. Service to wizards and nobles has left him a bit empty inside. His dreams of being a "hero",by saving others did not work out as intended. Now he's burned out on everything, but will stay this rotten path till the end. It's all he knows.
Hunter Hughes
He's a top tier papa bear. He has something he shelters and wants to protect dearly. The Intruders - I'll Always Love My Mama: youtube.com/watch?v=OPu_aOik24k
He's a violent son of a bitch, but he's only that way because he has people he doesn't want to be that way. Probably his mother. He's implacable, but deep down he's worried that the things he's done will make him unworthy of the people he protects.
He was a war veteran that retired to his family farm. His home was attacked by marauding cultists who killed everyone as a sacrifice, including him. As he was dying he made a deal with an evil god to rise again as a revenent.
He basically was the party dad, pretty reasonable and chill until his vengeance targets were near. Then he was divine judgement itself. Killed every cultist involved, and The Beast they called their god.
Jason Stewart
That's in the ball park That's pretty much it. Though his violent tendencies became more of a case the party conditioned him into thinking that's the only way to get things done.
The setting: Dungeons: The Dragoning (slightly homebrewed, with mroe stuff thrown in for the backstory).
James Morgan
A stupid dumbass mary sue mash up of stupid games, stupid songs, and stupid artists who's probably a stupid character played by a stupid character. I hate that fucking stupid lolsorandum LOOK AT MY CHARACTER ISN'T SHE AWESUM OWO bullshit that that stupid fucking meme game comes out with. Veeky Forums would have been better off it never got released and toxicified the waters of our pure hobby with it's inane random bull droppings.
Let's see...grizzled veteran archer/ranger who's seen too much shit to really kick the old heroism thing anymore, working as a hireling to a group of greenhorn adventurers. Probably lost his loved ones during his adventures.
Hell, maybe he's chasing after a loved one turned big time villain.
Dylan Foster
Someone seems quite angry about another person's pretend times on the internet, user.
Connor Martinez
Someone? Like a third of people on this site are angry at other people's pretend times
Ian Miller
That was a particularly vitriolic outburst, in my experience, though. I've never actually seen someone DISLIKE Dungeons: The Dragoning to that extent before; it's usually held up as the epitome of old Veeky Forums's 'get shit done' byline.
