sorry /swg/ I need to apologize. I said last week that on Friday that I would pick up my X-wing stuff from my LGS's storage room to take photos of the repaints for you.

I broke my phone yesterday, and now I don't have a camera (my backup phone has terrible resolution). I can take photos with my webcam, but much more slowly, and I can't set up my entire collection at once to photograph.

Decimator coming up soon.

Are there any ships you guys want to see? I've got every imperial ship, Kihraxz, T-70's, Aggressors, YT-1300, and a YT-2400, in varying degrees of repaint.

>Kihraxz
How do you even pronounce that? I've been saying Key-Raas, is that right or?

I believe it's "Ki-racks"

I pronounce it as Key Racks'Z

Your pronunciation of "Sabine" is terrible.

Kih-rax-z

or phonetically-

(Kih as in Kid)-Racks

Is it because I said "Say-bean" instead or "Suh-bean" or what?

...

Video has probably been posted before but, youtube.com/watch?v=dXlao2KNYjQ&feature=youtu.be
just clued me in that one of my PC's is playing a creepy twilek named "Tah-Mee Wissoo" in my EotE campaign.

One of the worst things about getting older is that you stop noticing all the lame pop culture references your players have slipped into their player characters.

Tommy Wiseau's been a meme since the early 2000's though...

Question: If the entire personal scale is within the Close range band of planetary/vehicle scale, does that mean someone with rocket boots or a jet pack (which allows you to function as a Speed 1 or 2 vehicle) could move from engaged to extreme in a single maneuver?

I want to run a short campaign/one-off based on the legends novel "Death Troopers", does anyone have advice on how to run zombies?
Additionally does anyone have advice for running imperial characters? I already have the imperial duty chart and seem to recall someone saying that stormtroopers should start as human, have 30xp to spend on talents and receive basic combat training, physical training and coordinated assault for free. Anything else I should be aware of like which classes to disallow if any? I have all of the rulebooks.

No! That speed is full bore balls to the wall max. That is too fast to try and engage in personal combat. Let them close 2 bands per move max.

Are there any career/specializations that are useful for being a bit talky and a bit stabby or punchy? Expensive as it is, is Force specialization worth it in EotE, or are you just gonna be gimping your group?

Smuggler as a career, and Marshal are pretty good.

I mean, I'd totally let my players try and tackle some asshole at 100 MPH. Fuck it, crits for everyone involved with that tragedy.

The player will be unharmed though, cause Star Wars logic.

I'm trying to put together a Corran/Biggs/Ahsoka list. I was going to use the standard 48-point Corran build with PTL, but at the same time I think it's unnecessary with Ahsoka in the same list.

You can ptl off of orange butt cheeks for shits and giggles

Anybody think a Corran+Biggs+Stresshog could be viable?

Does anyone have any advice on how many credits a starting level 4 character should start with? I'm going to be running a one off campaign and I want my players to be well equiped for any encounters, but not too well equpied that they can buy an entire armory worth of ordance against the local thugs. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it's actually a really strong list. Someone brought it to an open post-nerf and did really well.

It's Rebel Goodstuff with miranda swapped out for a similarly powerful ship.

Ahsoka's ability can be used to PTL off of, which is especially powerful after a bump. Keep PTL. Also, Ahsoka will likely be dropping quite a few bombs.

Where did the orange-butt-cheeks name originate?

>Yeah, it's actually a really strong list. Someone brought it to an open post-nerf and did really well.
>It's Rebel Goodstuff with miranda swapped out for a similarly powerful ship.
Alright. I've been playing a ton of Corran/Miranda lately and want to switch up without going full netllist.

I've done the Death Trooper thing before. If memory serves I gave them -30% on critical rolls against them, they pretty much ignored anything beyond destroyed/severed limbs and imposed an average fear test. I think I used the storm trooper stat block with +10 wounds and one extra green die to brawl checks. My players figured out what was going on pretty quick and resorted to thermal detonators and heavy repeating blasters shortly after.

Define talky. The Enforcer out of Dangerous Covenants is a 50/50 blend of being an intimidating bastard and a brawler. If you want to strong arm/coerce instead of charm/talk around, take a look at them.

Orange butt cheeks originated with a namefag from /swco/, tourbillion, back when TCW was still ongoing. Had to deal with the apparent closeness between Ahsoka and Barriss Offee

Deception at a minimum, but charm preferred. Intimidation is kinda eeeeh.

Then I'd recommend the smuggler one, can't remember the name off the top of my head. The Enforcer is definately more of a "those're some nice knee caps you've got there, shame if something happened to them" kind of social character. Not saying you can't put ranks into charm and run them as the silver tongued brute, but their talent tree is skewed towards intimidation and breaking knees.

Alternatively look at the spy class from Age of Rebellion.

Been trying to write more scripts all day (was thinking of getting the Thursday, Friday, Saturday release trifecta). The more scripts I wrote, the more there were that came off as boring to me (those scripts have been thereby scrapped).
I want to ask you guys for some spark of inspiration. What are some good XWM questions that need answering or ideas that need explaining? I'm not asking for handouts, just a conversation starter to get the ball rolling.

Is that RAW, or how you as a GM would handle it? What if they're using a jet pack, and vehicle speed 1 is only half their maximum, since they're speed 2?

Yep, one of the many issues with jet pack mechanics

In his question he's talking about disengaging

Not from engaged, since leaving engaged range requires a Disengage maneuver, but probably from Close to Extreme.

Using the jump boots or jet pack he's tree as a vehicle, so he's not in engaged range, he's at close planetary range.

Imo ffg should really have put a scale between character and space, or done something different anyway.

You know what I miss from this thread? Bad fanfiction review.
Place has gotten too damn serous

Does anyone have a Raider model for X-wing that they could measure? I'm getting one soon and want to know how much foam I need.

In rewatching RotJ, I find that Kylo's anger in TFA is not at all dissimilar from Luke's in his duel against Vader. It's actually really interesting how well those two explosions of emotion (Luke's and Kylo's) sync up.

Luke's was out of a desire to protect his sister, so a lot more justified and understandable.

When I found this art I was really disappointed, the Greedo story described them as giant floating crabs.

I agree that Luke's anger was more selfless, my comparison had more to do with the expression of that anger and the way those scenes sync up visually rather than thematically.

According to Google, it's about 13 inches long and 5 wide.
Here's a shot next to a CR90

Luke repents of his anger.

Kylo doesn't.

It's that simple. They're the same emotion and portrayed with the same negative light. Luke doesn't win the duel out of anger. He doesn't win /anything/ out of anger.

This. I hope the user who did the drunk reviews still has an intact liver

I have really shaky hands, but I measure 13.5 inches.

In AoR, how should one determine the amount of credits rewarded by the Alliance? Should I use the table in No Disintegrations?

>Luke doesn't win the duel out of anger. He doesn't win /anything/ out of anger
But Luke does win the duel out of his anger. His anger is what allowed him to cut Vader's arm off after he said he wouldn't fight against his father.

>But Luke does win the duel out of his anger. His anger is what allowed him to cut Vader's arm off after he said he wouldn't fight against his father.

Man, you think /that's/ what the duel was about? Who can chop off the most limbs?

There's a reason the emperor's theme is mystical pseudo-gregorian chanting.

I would be up for some pain train tomorrow night if anyone has any worthy suggestions for shitfic to review
Tonight I'm taking a ride through the raw horror of Generation Kill fanfic with a quart of Jim Bean, a fifth of 152 vodka and a bunch of rip-its, but tomorrow (or I guess technically later today) I'll go star wars
My liver is good to go, and ready for more terrible fanfic

>Generation Kill fanfic with

Thanks. I should be able to carve up some foam for it and my gozanti.

It's 1/450 scale then? I guess it's not too noticible, but the gozanti is 1/270 like all of the other ships. I would totally like a 1'10" Raider.

Also, Do you know if it would be possible to add a Hangar bay/docking clamps onto a Raider with plasticard/spare gozanti clamps? I'd like to modify it to be able to hold ships, since it apparently can do that in the new Battlefront.

>Generation Kill fanfic
For some reason this makes me imagine a fujo embedded in a marine unit and it's fucking hilarious

Is there such a thing as "Good" Fanfiction, or is it just shades of shit.

Of course there is. 50 Shades of Chicken.

Anybody play Rebellion with any regularity? Anybody looking forward to the new expansion? I'm a little disappointed that they chose Chirrut rather than Raddeus as a Rebel commander for a Rogue One box.

Depends on if you're in the mood to fap or not.

I want to make a Wookiee specialized in ripping off people's arms. How do I make this mechanically viable?

put points into brawl and brawn. that's it.

Comedic stuff can succeed at being funny, and therefore be 'good', so there's that. I don't read porno fic but I have no doubt some of it succeeds in being arousing, which is also 'good'
Some "serious" fanfic manages to reach pulp-tier quality levels, which is good or not depending on how much you like that sort of thing
I guess it's really all a matter of your own tastes

Bounty Hunter -> Martial Artist
Beeline straight towards Supreme Precision Strike. Lethal Blows is also good to get.

God I love this armor, also it's either this one or another one of Coruscant guard that have no left arm.

Did these guys show up at ALL in the video game or just the books and toys and sourcebook.

Not raw. There has been no clarification as to how that would even work and there won't be. The system is far too narrative. It's how I would run it.

>For some reason this makes me imagine a fujo embedded in a marine unit and it's fucking hilarious

>Garcia, remember that reporter chick who was embedded with us a few months back?
>yeah, I read her articles, they were shit
>dude, she wrote a fuckin' porno based on fuckin' us
>fuckin called it "Generation Drill"
>[later]
>oh come the FUCK on, fucking DOC gets the only pussy in this whole movie?
>yeah, and fucking pegboard is cut, too, we all know that
>man, I actually kinda wonder what getting blown by somebody who's dipping is like
>I wonder if Gunny's seen this shit yet

They do show up in phase 2 armor in Ep 3. But the imperial armor is not cannon

GROOMING STANDARD

Fuck no. That table is shit. Way too much money that way.

I had an idea fora warlord. Not many true capital ships, but he had a HUGE supply of Corvettes, patrol ships, and Light Cruisers intended for both the navy the Customs service.

He'd have SOME big ships to back them up, a few ISDs/ViSD/VeSDs and a single Praetor as HQ.

But what would justify his collection of Corvettes, warehousing of them or a lot of smaller factories?

Yeah I know that.

>Corvettes

They were legal to buy for "police" purposes. And what do you know, all these local systems were having /major/ security problems. Slap a new coat of paint on and remove the torpedo tubes and you've got a "Heavy Recon Specialist Vehicle" or a "Tactical Hostage Negotiation Team Transport".

Hell, get the local police to fund your armada. They like toys too.

I mean an Imperial Warlord needed to have operated within requisition rules and USUALLY didn't have enough personal income to buy that many ships or authorization to let system defense militias buy TOO many given the issues of rebellion.

Source? Image search shows nothing.

The primary issue is that ISDs are the very definition of murder against corvette swarms, like going 30:1 and winning level
Up against another warlord with more ISDs, they'd get more mangled than an afghan rent boy's asshole on thursday night

I guess they wanted those Force-related cards instead of BLOOD, TOIL, TEARS, AND SWEAT

I have a Moff in a campaign that is somewhat similar, Not many capital ships but lots of corvettes. He's in a region of space that primarily exports raw materials to the Imp war machine, and the primary threat is piracy to the many convoys and rampant smuggling. He is big on infrastructure and economic investment in his sector, and has a refurbishment and parts factory at his capital to keep the fleet going.

I guess it depends on who he has borders with. If he's got heavy customs ship presence he may also have more Golan platforms than strictly necessary as well.

...could you give an alternative then?

Figure out how much Duty the objectives would be worth, multiply by 200. (Based on Table 2-2 in AoR Core)

B Gata H Kei
...now there's a name I've not heard in a long time.

I'm... not sure if your supporting my idea or arguing against it.

Slightly against, in that private buys to have them all on station seems unlikely.

Wait, /that's/ what breaks your suspension of disbelief in a Star Wars game? The economics of a warlord getting his ships?

He's a warlord! It's Space Opera! An evil space wizard once built a massive sphere station with a planet-destroying laser and then when the station blew up he BUILT A BIGGER ONE.

Come on man! The economics of the thing isn't important. It's about theme. If they're obtained via a "policing" agreement, you can make all sorts of subtle or not so subtle references to modern police militarization, the use for force for unscrupulous ends, the commercialization of order, etc.

But you can't make your players care about economics.

That show was kind of adorably sweet.

I never did finish it back when I was a bright-eyed little college weeb, you're tempting me to go look for a batch.

Nah, it makes sense. Warlords are by and large total bastards and to a man not heroic, so realism will rise up to kick their ass at every turn

>But you can't make your players care about economics.
It's almost like you don't know about battletech

>so realism will rise up to kick their ass at every turn
Oh yes, I remember the many dozens of times realism and a sensible policy has saved the day in Star Wars media.

Oh no, wait, the opposite of that.

So do you have to roll Gunslinger to make guns akimbo with blaster pistols work?

>It's almost like you don't know about battletech

You're right, I should correct that.

You can't many *anyone care about *battletech.

What breaks my immersion?

What pisses me off above all else?

People who write off retarded shit and intricacy with "space opera" as the excuse.

If someone does this, fuck them a hundred times over. Star Wars is very complex. It's not a space opera anymore. It hasn't been one since ESB.

Fuck off.

>not a space opera
Care to explain this?
Sith: 1
Atheists: 0

Then I'm afraid almost every bit of Star Wars media produced from this day forward will piss you off. For every technical manual there are going to be 100 sabercopters. For every discussion on the trade routes in the Outer Rim there are going to be 100 new ridiculous TIE variants or giant walking tanks or silly space stations or ambiguous hyperspace rules or silly lightsaber moves.

So, you're welcome to your opinions, but understand the road you're walking down leads only to bile and bitterness.

>It hasn't been one since ESB.
I think you need to watch ESB again user.

I forgot they took the entire building down with a single twinshot.

Pretty much. And that's still just for a given value of "work". Even with all the akimbo talents you've still spent a shit-ton of XP on what you'd get for free with a single gun on Autofire.

>all those dead stormtroopers

Man, I'm so glad Disney decided the villains needed to be threatening, huh? Fuck Rogue One.

Bitch that's an urban ambush, and thanks to ONE shot (Admittedly made by Cassian, but he needed to be the one to make it for plot reasons so the Partisans could be angry at them.) they won that fight, only losing a few crystals at most.

So I made up a Trandoshan smuggler/scoundrel in SAGA edition. Game is starting in a couple of weeks. Anything I should be careful about?

Ambush? Okay, then afterward every single one of them should've been killed.

Stormtroopers being forced to act incompetent is among the worst idiocies in Star Wars, and at least the OT explained instances of where it happened. Disney doesn't even give a shit.

Ehwot? Cloud City had the Wing Guard pull off a pretty successful series of Ambushes on the fuckin 501st.

Like anyone else stormtroopers can be taken by surprise.

Adding a green or blue die (or subtracting a purple one) is better than an upgrade in every way besides a one-in-twelve Triumph chance. It's a common misconception that upgrades are the thing to aim for.
