Astartes Legion Creation Thread

During the time of the great crusade, the emperor finds you and realizes you are one of his lost sons, albeit perhaps a lazy one

After some ordeal he gives you command of your own legion whose astartes were sired using your genestock

Marduk Engur

>describe your talents as a primarch
Fast, assault tactics and multi-pronged attacks. Managing many small groups. A spiritual sort, but not in a particularly ecclesiastical or didactic way like Lorgar. Gets on well with the common folk and his marines. Serves as a personal exemplar, rather than a figurehead idol or distant leader.
>what is the name of your legion?
The Leviathan Host
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
Air Cav, Breaching, and Void Combat. Oceanic themes, with a mix of near-eastern ancient civilizations like Akkad, Babylon, and Sumeria for cultural flavor as well as some art-deco design.
>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
As a spiritualist, Marduk was frightened of the potential power of sorcery but also respected those who used it. Understood and backed the Emperor's decision but secretly held doubts about the effectiveness of it.
>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
Horus, but more Chaos than the traitors.

>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Close with the Space Wolves because they have similar esoteric beliefs and combat styles, though think they're slightly too rough around the edges and savage. Also get on well with the Salamanders and Blood Angels. Rubbed the wrong way by hyper-materialistic legions, like the Iron Warriors or Ultramarines. Very close with the Khan, as much as anyone was at least.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Conquered an entire inhabited asteroid belt in just under thirty two hours through rapid mobilization and well executed boarding actions. Were once pinned down by huge dust storms on an extremely tidal planet, and after their rapid deployment tactics failed they were cut off and ambushed.

cont.

>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
They'd probably believe their beliefs have been noticed and are being forced to comply. Would attempt to acquiesce and submit. If that failed, attack before they can land, boarding their ships and landing craft while they are in transit. Keep on the move and try to attack erratically to keep them guessing. Avoid pitch battles unless in close quarters breaching or with numerical superiority. Make use of the lack of solid land on the homeworld.

>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
Have a distinct sort of sailor faith they inherited from the Primarch's homeworld. Superstitions and slightly animist, they try to keep it low key because they want to follow the Imperial truth, but secretly struggle to come to grips with it. Believe in a Benthic goddess with many names, (sometimes called Tiamat, the Leviathan, Abyss, or Abzu) as the personification of the roiling, primordial sea, the dark, capricious void, and both destruction and creation. Represented as both a fish, a dragon, a serpent, and more alien creatures. They have many small quiet rituals they must perform and superstitions actions they undertake to appease her.
>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Boarding craft and air transport. Single handed melee weapons, usually in the form of falcatas or cleavers, wielded alongside rapid fire bolt pistols.
>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
Worships Chaos Undivided as the personification of Tiamat. Reptilian or fish-like mutations are common, including the ability to survive in the void or underwater. Wings or extra limbs are the most common overt mutations. cont.

>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now? cont.
Very smooth sailing in the warp, and seemingly expedited travel. Use this to appear and raid, then disappear, with the sole intent of creating chaos and anarchy. Want all of reality to return to the primordial Chaotic soup they believe it originated from, and to return to the womb of Tiamat.
>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
The ability to practice their faith in peace, as well as connecting Chaos to Tiamat/the Leviathan to appeal to them.

Anyone else want to take part? I found the two old Veeky Forums Heresies and wanted to see if we could cook up another.

is that some sorta mussolini marine

That wasn't the intention I don't think,
but Si

It's nice to see someone using my questions. These heresies seem to pop up every year now.

They're very good for brainstorming stuff like this. Hell, they're even good for making custom chapters and stuff.

Both the previous Heresies did some neat stuff, I like the way Veeky Forums puts a spin on things. Like the Eastern/Western Roman empire themes of the previous one.

Oghma of Feagchain-Tur
>describe your talents as a primarch
Lore, study, and applied research. Kind of like an 18th century naturalist meets MacGuyver. Finding exactly what part of the tyranid to shoot for the greatest effect and whatnot. Also, history keeping and surprisingly eloquent speeches.
>what is the name of your legion?
The Eyes of the Horizon
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
Excessive anti-enemy research tactics, defensive positioning, and improvised weaponry. Celtic knotwork with lots of sky tones and greens, along with Illuminated Manuscript style finery. Also lots of candles.
>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Oghma is a scholar and historian first, so the loss of any kind of knowledge is horrifying to him, though he understands the reasoning behind the Emperor's verdict. Still, he's against it from a principle point of view.
>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
Horus, but more aimed towards just succeeding from the Imperium than towards Chaos.

>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
They have a longstanding respect/hate of the Space Wolves, due to finding their culture and traditions fascinating but the Wolves being brutes. They get along great with the Thousand Sons, but absolutely loathe the Dark Angels. Knowledge is meant to be shared, not secreted away.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Once drove off a Dark Eldar slaving armada on a hive world by determining which frequencies Eldar could hear that humans couldn't, and then blaring that frequency through every speaker in the hive at once for duration of the siege, distracting the Eldar enough to be very unprepared for the litany of traps and ambushes.
Once lost a flagship due to an Ork Rokk ramming directly into the engines mid-take off, leaving the marines there overrun.
Cont.

>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Figure its about time, and then prep for evacuation. Load as much as they can on as many ships as they can, then bait a ground invasion and leave a skeleton crew to hold the Wolves as much as they can. They're mostly focused on getting their libraries and histories out before they become Prospero 2: The Wolfening.

>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
Major defect in the Catalepsean Node preventing them from effectively learning with Hypnotherapy. As a result, they have to learn everything by hand. Initiates spend decades learning to reach the standards of the chapter. They're also kind of pacifistic, coming from a "but you can't learn as much if they're dead" viewpoint. Traditionally also, each initiate must record and write an account of every deployment they take part in, eventually combining their history into tomes for the chapter.
>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Powermauls and other long-handled crushing weapons, as well as lots of servo skulls. Prefer longer range rifles against bolters.
>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
Due to small size and long training times, they field almost entirely as strike groups, but they do not worship chaos as a legion.
>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
The ability to seek knowledge uncensored by the decrees of the Emperor. They agreed mostly as allies of convenience.

Tl;dr Nerd Druid Library marines. Also the name is very much up for change, it was the first thing that came to mind.

Nice, I really like the idea of Celtic styled space marine armor. The knots and dragons would make great details. The not being able to do hypnotherapy is also a really cool idea.

I'm not sure why they side with the Traitors though. They seem more like the type to side with the Emperor, if only because they know how bad Chaos would really be.

I figured they would kind of pull a Night Lords, where they weren't followers of chaos more as just dissatisfied with the Emperor's way of doing things.

Also I figure if they got along with the Thousand Sons, Prospero's burning would have been a real wake up call. They probably wouldn't have turned traitor without it.

Fair enough, but the Night Lords were also pretty loony towards the end when Chaos really started becoming a big part of the Traitors so they stayed with them. These guys seem a lot more reasonable, so I almost see them defecting back once they start summoning daemons all over Terra. Unless they actually end up being okay with that stuff, in a callous Iron Warriors sort of way.

Actually, now that I think about it, having them stay loyal could make for a really fun "look what you've become" kind of attitude towards the Thousand Sons. They WANTED to rebel, but didn't, and now look and as if they could have somehow stopped it all.

You know what, considering I made up this bunch pretty much on the spot, let's workshop these guys. Give them a better name, figure out more about their planet and rules, the whole shebang.

Alternatively, we should do that with someone else's chapter.

Well, the name can come later. What do you imagine their planet is like? I'm somehow seeing a kind of swampy, boggy place. Maybe largely medieval with bastions of long forgotten DAoT technology where monks and scribes live?

I figured it was swampy, but with large stretches of foggy hillside. Whatever it is, its got lots of humidity and lots of rain. Also probably big Giants Causeway style coastlines, maybe interlocking a mostly Island-based landmass

I like the idea of DAoT tech, especially in that we could have the monks and scribes having turned them into fortresses to protect them from other clans. Prior to the Primarch getting his hands in everything, this place was pretty fractious. I figure one of his major accomplishments was cataloguing all of the languages and myths of the place and using that information to secure a planetwide alliances and unification.

Also I think it should be called Eire.

Maybe it's somehow a very recent planet? So it's all very volcanic, like the giants causeway and such, but the oceans and seas aren't very deep and most are filled with thick mats of weeds or peat. Not many tall trees, just foggy moorlands, bleak black stone uplands, and low shadowy forests.

Maybe the monks and scribes that Oghma ends up becoming part of are constantly under siege by the savage inhabitants of the boggy lowlands, who are more like ogryn than regular people, and he rallies them to finally end the threat? Would be interesting to see a Primarch who actively sides with the intellectuals instead of the barbarian warriors. Might also reinforce their dislike of the Wolves, because they remind them too much of the barbarians.

I like this a lot. I figured fitting with the mythological inspiration that Oghma eventually united the world via eloquence and speech, but having the lowland moor tribes be Fomorian-styled Ogryn sounds awesome.

I think that Oghma could have been found originally by the bog tribes and raised as a warrior, and then eventually found himself injured or something and in the care of the monks, who disabused him of the notion that they were evil wizards in their giant stone houses.
In that case, his whole unification of the world was him trying to bridge the gap between the two tribes, and I want to say in the end he had to side with the monks. It's part of why he wants to turn traitor during the heresy, but doesn't. He's already been a traitor to his people once, and he won't put them through that again.

Maybe he is able to make some form of peace, but during the celebration of it the tribes do something that is itself totally unforgivable. Like, say, making a wicker man out of a bunch of prisoners they said they were going to release. He cuts himself off before he makes the same mistake of trust during the Heresy.

Awesome. Such a massive fuck up during the celebration also really reinforces how he handles having space marines. They're almost all defensive and super reserved under his command, enough to be probably called cowards by the more aggressive legions, because their primarch is afraid of fucking up that badly again.

Also, as an idea. His big fancy legendary primarch weapon of choice is a gigantic powermaul covered in Ogham etching called the Long Mor, after the Dagda's famed "kill seven men in a single stroke" club.

Kule Setanta

>describe your talents as a primarch
Jetbikes, sniping, disruption, and air assault
>what is the name of your legion?
The Spears of Dawn
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
Encirclement, sniping command elements, slaying champions, and aerial operations. Celtic themes meet Vietnam War, lots of modified jet-chariots, Stormbirds with door gunners
>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Generally anti-psykers, Pro-Nikea.

>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
Fractured based on honor debt to various individuals, other squads, or legions. 60-40 split leaning Loyal.
>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Varies based on squad. Oaths of moment are common, becoming permanent geis if failed. If saved by the hand of an outsider, a debt is owed.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Lost a chapter to Gellar Field failure only to have them show up years later with wild stories of "Fomorians" that they fought endlessly for weeks. Less than a company remained. In battle, they burn with white fire and rage endlessly at the enemy.
>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Some turn on their brothers due to lifedebts, some fight back, some submit to the axe willingly.

>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
Shit at straight up fights, can't siege, bad at boarding. They all have grey eyes and black hair. In battle, some undergo transformations into raging giants with red hot skin.
>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Jet Chariots, Sniper Rifles with bloodnail rounds, spears, capes
>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
The loyalists experience heightened rage, some developing burning white flames. The heretics are all ogrish red skinned monsters.
>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
He didn't have to. Those that owed him a debt simply fell in line.

OghmaAnon here, welcome to the fine world of Celtic Space Marines.

I'll bump this before bed, hope it's still up tomorrow.

Not 'me' per se, just a primarch concept

Raj Vokar
>describe your talents as a primarch
Tough, resilient, stoic, intelligent. Patient and precise, Raj biggest strength is knowing just when to apply the right amount of force.
>what is the name of your legion?
The Titan Marchers
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
The Titan Marchers are particularly adept at deployment alongside the Adeptus Titanicus. The legion is at it's best when marching in the shadow of an Imperator-class Titan.
>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Raj would be rather indifferent towards psykers. He would understand the dangers they pose, but to him the study of the psychic arts is not much different from other fields of research.
>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
Heavily dependant on who gets to him first, could easily be swung either way.

>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Raj is an industrious man, who takes a pleasure in building and creation. As such, he'd be able to get along well with primarchs like Ferrus and Vulkan. His relationship with Perturabo would be less friendly, as his attitude would rub Raj the wrong way.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
The Titan Marchers rarely wage war alone. They are often deployed in smaller groups alongside other legions, when the brutality of a Titan legion is required. Their biggest defeat would have to be during the Siege of Terra, where Raj would be killed or defeated (depending on his loyalty) when his personal titan, the Apocalyptican, was finally brought down.
>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Prepare the titans and dig in. The Titan Marchers are slow and methodical, but they'll make the Wolves pay for every inch they try to take. Let's see the Wolf King attempt to bring down the Titan Lord.

>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
The legion's gene seed sometimes results in muscular degeneration in the legs, specifically the ankles and knees. This means that many marines replace their legs or complete lower bodies with mechanical prosthetics.
>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
The Titan Marchers prefer heavy weapons, so heavy bolters and plasma cannons. Their assault divisions often rely on power swords, preferring their precision over chainswords. The power swords they use are often curved, a design which originated to their homeworld, Manas.
>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
Either they more fully integrate themselves with AdMech/AdTitan forces, or they're given the tools to make more daemon titans.
>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
Most likely the chance to take many of the Imperium's biggest and most powerful warmachines and superweapons for himself.

... Alexios?

Oh shit, it might actually be him. Cool.

Still smoking pot in your underwear?

Hatar
>describe your talents as a primarch
Incessant laziness, often excelling at waiting an enemy out of an entrenched position before mustering up the will to finally do something.
>what is the name of your legion?
Sons of Apathy
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
The capacity to remain at rest longer than any other impeium, inquisitorial or astartes-based force.
>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Meh.
>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
Fucking Noise marines keep me up at night, so obviously not fucking Ruinous Powers.
>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Ultramarines. They get shit done so we don't have to.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Outdid Leman Russ in an eating and drinking competition. Slept for twelve days and twelve nights. Ate more. They ran out of food. Alpha Status achieved.
>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Tell him I need five more minutes and go back to sleep.
>Cont.

Insomnia.

>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Anything that doesn't make a shitload of noise. People are sleeping.
>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
Don't know. Slept through that.
>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
He didn't. He barely had enough snacks to feed one fucking squad for two hours. Fuck that guy.

Pacha, the Earthquake

>describe your talents as a primarch
Melee combat, pacification of subdued populations and cultural integration with the Imperium. Heavily knowledgeable of agricultural techniques.
>what is the name of your legion?
The Golden Mountains
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
Melee combat in difficult terrain, particularly mountains, and use of librarians as support near the front lines, less flashy stuff and more empowering weapons and armor. Heavy Inca themes.
>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Side with Magnus, given that own Legion also uses a considerable amounts of Librarians
>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
Side with the Emperor, but deeply regret having to face the TS in combat

>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Friends with Magnus and Roboute, trying to get the two to work together. Not in good terms with Russ nor Mortarion.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Manage impressive victory against xenos by performing a surrounding tactic only made possible by pushing the Astartes' stamina to the limit.
>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Go with personal guard to orbit on Legion's flagship. Tell Russ that will go to Terra to talk with the Emperor to prove loyalty, but not as a prisoner.

>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
Lack of Preomnor and Betcher's Gland. Some Space Marines, as a result, are trained in the fine culinary arts (and analysis of organic materials for edibility)
>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Power Maces
>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex?
Librarius is integrated into the Astartes Companies, rather than own structure.
>Horus
Cut off comunications at first mention of treason.

I am 'no man'.
>Talents
Whatever you think I should have.
>Name
The Nameless Sons and Daughters

Not what you expected
>Council of Nikaea?
I knew you'd ask that question. You'd trust us with a battlefleet and not with psykers? Interesting.
>Heresy
Sigh. They've messed it all up. Loyalist because the traitors can't do anything but make the same mistakes as their father, for all their posturing.
>Rivalries
None. We believe what you believe. We think as you do. I did not say this. I was not here.
>Memorable Campaigns, victories and defeats
Campaigns? We are mere guards. We have achieved no great deeds, earned no victories and suffered no defeats. We are an.. uh 'inactive sentinel legion'.
>Russ will mess your shit up
Oh how terrible! Do go on...
>Geneseed defects
None. What a rude suggestion...
>Signature Weapon
The improvised explosi... I mean the bolter. Yup. Good old bolter.
>Deviation from Codex
Ha ha ha! A book that tells people how I fight and limits my power. You can stick that up y... we follow it to the letter.
>How did Horus try to convince you?
At first he didn't bother. Then he asked me to name my price. I said "If you have to ask, the answer is no."

'No Man' would call himself Outis

redneck legion when?

Can't believe it is a real name... It means Nobody.

Uhm, really, dad? You sure you want a legion of trap-marines? Okay...

>describe your talents as a primarch
Is being ignored and underestimated a talent? I'm also ruthless and willing to use whatever means necesary to eliminate my foes. Also being cute.

>what is the name of your legion?
Daughters of the Emperor

>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
War is a thing of beauty. We lack a consistent combat doctrine, always looking for new and wonderful ways to destroy the enemy. We are known for quick and brutal assaults, however.

>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Ugh, dad, why do you always have to ruin our fun?

>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
I'm not listening to you anymore, dad! Slaanesh gets me!

>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others

This is a blueboard, user.

>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Act cutesy and innocent and try to convince him he's mistaken. If he doesn't buy it, buy some time while we hit him hard and fast where it hurts.

>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
What?! Nothing is wrong with my geneseed! We are perfect! I will kill you for such insults!

>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Flashy weapons, style over substance.

>what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
Finally we get to be the little girl!

>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
The freedom to do what I want, whenever I want, without being constantly criticized and told what an embarrassment I am.

Filipus the Sheperd, the Good-Father, the Kind Master

>talents as a primarch
Peace time logistics and diplomacy, erudition, law and justice, kindness and devotion to humanity
In all things I will strive for peace and fairness
I am also a latent psyker with powerful powers of empathy and a capacity to soothe even the most ferocious beasts, as well as understand and speak almost any human or alien language. Many of my sons have inherited these gifts, making them formidable diplomats and judges
We are also innately able to see through lies and deception, worldly or otherwise
>name of your legion?
The Sheperds
Their sigil is a sheperd's staff crossed with an olive branch and their livery is snow white, with blue and bronze trim and insignias
>main tactics/characteristics?
Oriented towards peacekeeping, education, research and helping human government
Many legions look down on us as pansies unfit of the name of Astartes because of these peaceful inclinations, but the path of the sheperd is a humble one, and so we bear their scorn in silence
The use of large pavises and portable barricades is common among the Sheperds deployed in protection of civilian populations (which is most of their battles)
In combat, Sheperds usually fight as coordinated squads of 3 to 5
It is not unusual to see them use non-lethal force when applicable
They are mostly deployed on colonized worlds as judges, law enforcement and diplomats
>Council of Nikaea?
I accepted it on the surface, while unofficially continuing to encourage my sons to cultivate their psychic powers.
>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
I will remain loyal to the Emperor. The sheer atrocity of what the likes of Curze and Perturabo inflicted on civilians (to name only the worst) will be enough to turn me away from Horus if I ever consider joining him
Cont.

Cont.
>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Understably, the more warlike and bloodthirsty primarchs scorn and despise me, seeing me as a weakling and a coward. I consider them as little more than attack dogs and will seldom even mention Angron, Curze, Perturabo, Leman or Mortarion, as their names sound like profanity to my ears.
I have strong bonds with Vulkan, because of our shared concern for human lives, art and stability
Although they look down on me and I pity their hubris, I share a love for art with Fulgrim and Sanguinius and the corruption of the Phoenician will tear my heart with sadness
Guilliman sees my usefulness as a tool of stability and peace and while assuredly enlist me in his rebuilding effort
I have a kinship with Magnus in our love of knowledge and erudition, but I fear his endless curiosity and his dealings with the warp will be his downfall. He helped me understand my empathic powers.
Neutral relations with the others, if a bit tarnished by their dislike for my peaceful ways
>your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Our worst defeat is a silent one. Because of my sons psychic abilities, many of them have fallen prey to the lure of the warp and many of them, usually lone brothers that disappear on their own, have fallen to Nurgle, enticed by his false promises of love and peace
They present themselves as imperial envoys on unwitting worlds and encourage laziness and resignation while instilling dangerous plagues in a sort of planet wide "proxy munchhausen"
Some brothers have come to call this the Unclean Urge

>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Come forward alone and reason with him. I might well be the only one capable of it and even if he decides to execute me, I will buy my legion the time to prepare the evacuation of the planet.
>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
Even if my sons are still Astartes, they are not warriors as great as those from other legions, not for lack of competence, but for lack of love for violence
>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
My legion uses an inordinate amount of stasis and graviton weaponry as a way of subduing enemies in non-lethal ways when possible
>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
Much like the Dark Angels, the Sheperds will split into chapters in name only, each chapter effectivelt still acting as a local subdivision of the legion
They will often refuse the call to go on crusades, especially those aiming at conquest, if they believe it will endanger the worlds they are tasked to protect.
The fact that some of them keep disappearing and falling to Nurgle is also a stain on the Legion's honor that they try and keep secret, sometimes by any means necessary
>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
He tried convincing me that rebelling against the Emperor was the only way to stop the unending war of the Great Crusade, but I knew him to be dishonest and was aware that he would be an unjust tyrant

1.Pure Brutality and Fear Mongering nothing will strike me down and nothing will want to try and strike me down.
2.The Deadened
3.(tactics)No Pain,Technology,No Psykers,Fear Mongering,No Relent,Pure Brutality,Ambushes,Surprise Sieges.
(Characteristics) Brotherly and full of camaraderie off the battle field mixing with humans and being faithful protecters also having absolutely no fear of anything but themselves along with a aptitude to modify tech into they're own designs and improvements quite frequently,On the battle-field Relentless Brutal Daemons tearing through the fight with pure determination and might showing no emotion no fear and no respite out of the very shadows before they tear down your life.
4.FUCK THAT SHIT I DON'T WANT TO SHIT A DAEMON OUT WITH A ACCIDENTAL THOUGHT BAN THEM!
5.With my father of course you cunty fucking heretic!
6.(Friendships)
Space Wolves = Drinking off the field and Slaying on it.
Salamanders = Civies are our responsibility and friends too brother and flamers make great smoke effects and screaming.

I am tempted to make a Coldsteel edit of this

6.(Rivals)
Raven Guard = We apparently strike to early and make to much noise when we do "Ruining" the operation
Ultramarines = STICK WITH THE PLAN! Fuck that we just skinned the general and stuck him on a speeder bike towards them.
7.(Victories)
A.Our Debut onto the battlefield men cowering at this strange new legion tearing through the battlefield roaring with a voice made of death and carnage using tools crafted from whatever torment they can find and destroying the opponent with no relent as we take the fortress with the coup heads being hung from the battlements by they're intestinal linings.
B.Our newest invention stopping a Insurgency in its tracks as it skins them alive one by one from afar making it appear as if spirits themselves are shredding them apart leaving the insurgents surrendering to a slow and painful death
C.The Heresy having just started its comrades by its side turning against them they crawled their way out of the belly of that world and into the warm embrace of reinforcements after leaving the entire interior pasted and painted with remains and gore.
7.(Defeats)
A.During the start of the Horus Heresy where they had to crawl they're way out of a traitor legions fort they lost about half of they're number.
B.During they're recovery from such a event the chapter fortress has been under heavy assault as its doors burst open and dozens of hundreds of thousands of traitors run in for the kill slaying thousands more.
C.Having dealt with the invaders they had a problem rebuilding they're numbers as they're gene-seed malfunctioned twisting and turning they're very form.
8.Hail him and dismiss those claims as nothing but rumors and trust in our bond as battle brothers.

...

9.Before the Heresy we were already quite deformed our skin drying and cracking showing our very flesh which in itself twisted and turn around our bones tightening into steel (not literal) as our organs and vocal cords melted and spiked turning our songs into roars and our greetings into howls as we struck terror across our foes very cores while extreme pain became our only feeling luckily we no longer felt pain as our receptors and nerves we're severed or destroyed and after the heresy this only grew worse as our tongues lengthened and our eyes grew black and sunken our flesh tinting white and black as it decayed infront of our very eyes.
10.The Mighty Bolter of course! So much raw power in its base form with so much room for molding and improvement truly a blessed weapon and tool
Our favorite vehicle? Our own feet of course! Trudging along the ground as we rip and tear through our enemies and mere mortals!
11.We just do what we always do,Strike fear and terror into everything we meet and Strike down anything that ever dares to think "I can take that tin can"
12.The Power To Cause Ultimate Terror. Spreading my influence around the entire galaxy as my hoard of technology and fame grows and grows.
I spurned it.
Cause why grant the power of fear to the epitome of it?

Whats a Coldsteel edit?

>These threads

I know it's an old hat by now but damn I just can't resist.

>Talents as primarch
Focus, compassion, subtle suggestive psyker abilities
>Name
Mastodontii
>Tactics
Massively vehicle based, rhinos and razorbacks left, right and centre, with scouts as hunting squads to take out key positions and figures
>Nikaea
Psykers are a useful tool that cannot be passed up. We require strict observation and training to make sure they are not going to fire back on us.
>Side
Chaos, because the Imperium is a stagnant hellhole where life is only permitted and not celebrated
>Friendships and rivalries
Sanguinius and Vulkan are basically my best buds, I make fun of Ferrus Manus but I like him better than most and I empathise deeply with Perturabo and Angron, although I know the latter would put an axe in my skull if I said so out loud

I hate Mortarion, I could tear my hair out over Lion'El Jonson and somebody hold me back or I'll punch Leman Russ into a furry smear on the ground.
>Lemmy Russia comes
Fucking trample the mutt under stampede of treads.
>Major defect
A form of elephantitis, meaning our bodies are disproportionally broad and thus we move slower than other chapters/Legions.
We worship out vehicles and machinery in a more religious fashion than even the adeptus mechanicus, which is why some love us and others hate us.
>Signature wargear
A huge, coppery mammothskull as my pauldron etched with runes and primitive carvings.
>Post-herey
A cannibal cult imported from our homeworld takes root among our assault squads/raptors and other melee formations, giving rise to our Mantikhore warriors.
>Joining the heresy
He foretold of the devaluation of life and the individual in the coming Imperium. Whether he was right and fought a just war or the outcome of his war caused him to be right is one of the big questions I am left to lament.

The Alpha Legion stole the idea from me. Honestly, what a bunch of amateurs. We have no colors, no honors, no identifiers, no identity. Just the anonymous, faceless legion, who is every legionnaire and none at all... what Alpharius didn't have was a plan. All execution and no goal.

Aren't the Mastodontii a Hektor Heresy legion?

Right, so it's a legion without any substance?

Yes, I pitched them in the very first thread and people took off with it.

I love what they did with it initially but now some weird thing is going on like twin primarchs 'n'shit.

I consider our legions to be independent canons.

Also I think my colourscheme is much better.

>Addendum
I have to admit though some of their ideas inspired my take on the legion, so the current post is different than the one back than.

Maybe so, they went full ice world with it. If this manages to become Universe-4, we should think about adopting another name though....

First time trying this so here goes nothing.
Denak Madran

>describe your talents as a primarch
Can stay awake for 3 weeks before needing an hour of rest.
Morals are a mix of a European Knight and a Spartan.
Might makes right but I must protect those weaker then me.
Sees nature as the strongest force and thus respects it the most.
>what is the name of your legion?
Knights of the Thorn

>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
Steel rain
Attrition
Land combat
Thier armour is painted grey and dark green.
It's insignia is a circle of thorns.

>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Backs the Emperor's decision.

>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
We stay loyalist.

>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Friendship with the Iron hands and teams up with them to share the glory.

Sees the Space wolves as savages and does not enjoy being near any of their troops.

>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Once ended an entire ork WAAAGH by holding a fortified position and charging when the Orks morale broke.
Lost the same planet about 90 years later to the sheer amount of Orks that spawned from the dead bodies.

>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Contact him and tell him that as soon as a single of his cavepeople land there I tear him and his pathetic legion to ash.
If we kill my planet then I'll do it myself.
Pic related since its the Insignia.

Cont
>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
"The Growth"
Thorny Roots can grow from the inside of your wounds if left untreated. They branch out quickly are very hard to tear out.
Suffer enough wounds and The Growth shall overtake a marine and they shall die.

>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Power sword with thorn roots grown on it.
Mostly because its cool

>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
We mostly just wage attrition with little to no sky troops or vehicles.
The only vehicle we use are bikes.

>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
A cure to The Growth and a way to become as powerful as the Emperor.
Pic is what the marines look like.

Grazing landmammals living in herds is sort of the core theme, though. "Bisons" doesn't have the same ring to it, same as "Buffaloes".

I like those, you'd think there would be some existing version of them ruling some worlds. Nice concept !

They'd get their ass kicked by any other Legion but yeah I agree. I always thought Salamanders to be this kind of 'nice' Legion but this makes it consistent with Marines ruled worlds

I know they'd get their shit pushed in by anyone (Word Bearers included) but I think they fill a niche that wasn't already occupied and I like my marines as protectors of the common man
Also I fucked up on the color scheme ... White with blue and bronze details ils already taken by the World Eaters ... which the Sheperds would definitely not appreciate being associated with
I'm open to suggestions, unfortunately I can't test anything since I'm phoneposting

I also need to document how bad they got bullied by the other legions during the Heresy, since it's unlikely they got out unscathed, but as I said, writing up war reports isn't easy on a phone

By the by, if we end up doing a whole alt heresy out of this, I doubt we'll keep any of the original legions. That's all theoretical right now though.

Well how-dy do, Empra, this here's yur favo-rit son Cletetis Obenhauser Luciton Jankans, primart uv the Guns of Purity. We got us here a load uv unwanteds to send face first into tha enemah. Where you want em?

Raja Shula Kshatriya
>describe your talents as a primarch
Skilled in single combat, and constantly striving to improve himself. Despite his regal bearing and leadership skill, he has an odd humility - in many cases, he cedes decisions to a council of priests and wise men from his homeworld, Ikshvaku. Very open-minded and curious, to the point of often coming across as naive. He's immediately identifiable through a mutation, much like Sanguinius; in his case, he has four arms. He's skilled in confusing and distracting opponents, switching tactics and weapons on the fly; his nicknames are "the Tiger", for his skill in combat and the hunt, and "Thrice-Born", as he was believed to be the reincarnation of two of the ancient heroes of his homeworld.
>what is the name of your legion?
The VII Legion: the Blazing Spears. Colours are orange and black with green accents; symbol is a black trishula on a yellow, wheel-like stylised sun.
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
Armoured assault; getting elite troops in close and overrunning the enemy with shock assaults. Land Raiders, Terminators, veterans with power weapons.
>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Believes that restricting any use of psychic powers stifles the Legion's ability to learn and grow and aid mankind, and thus argues passionately for the Librarius. >

>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
The Traitors, though a significant slice of the Legion remain loyal. But it's not him; it's a warp-sensitive xenotech parasite awakened through experimentation by the Blazing Spears' scientists that has taken control of his body, his open-minded attitude having bitten him in the ass. Most of his commanders are also controlled.
Several of the traitors are uncomfortable with the "new" Kshatriya, most being aware that he isn't the same guy. Mortarion, in particular, was disgusted enough to refuse to have anything to do with him, and Lorgar expressed that it was a pity that he had not joined of his own free will.

Wasted quads. Sorry, captcha is kicking my ass.
>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Kshatriya is close to Jaghatai Khan, as close as one can be to a loner like him. He's also friendly with Horus, and has a friendly rivalry with Fulgrim. Most other Legions he has little shared cultural ground with.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
[idklol i'm shit at this]
>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Put up barricades and blockades while contacting Russ and trying to get him to calm down and come in peace. If he's already parasited, it's a distraction to either ambush Russ or escape.
>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
His curiosity and open-mindedness carries over to his sons, leading to the Legion as a whole experimenting on alien weapons and technology, as well as other forbidden areas of study.
>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Power-trishula, power-gada, power-urumi. Legion's elites have modified Mk. 5 Mantilla helmets made to look like snarling tiger's faces; the less martial specialties (chaplains, librarians, apothecaries) have Mk.2 helmets modelled on elephants, incorporating rudimentary psychic shielding. One unique vehicle: the Land Raider Graha, using a front-mounted dozer blade and lascutter array to cut through any obstacles and difficult terrain.

>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
The post-Heresy Blazing Spears remain more cohesive than most Legions form a miniature empire within the Eye; a "pirate's paradise" from which they raid and steal riches and technology, and conduct blasphemous experiments. Kshatriya and the other xenotech infectees dwell within a planet-spanning palace, and are rarely seen by the other members of the Legion.
>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
Full access to the secrets of Mars and the Emperor's vaults.
Where do you get the templates for those sprites, by the way?
...And I guess culturally Kshatriya is kind of redundant with this guy, but oh well.

So Indian marines, eh? Cool! I was kind of going for that with , but if we're gonna turn this into an AU I might make them more of a Sikh/Ottoman hybrid. Dibs on Marines with turbans.

check bitbucket.org/chaptergenerator/chaptergenerator/downloads

>Dibs on Marines with turbans.
You drive a hard bargain, but that's absolutely fair. I was going for more of a Hindu flavour, so if you're going for Sikh then you get the turbans.

Thanks!

You're welcome

And here's what they look like.

>Pacha

As soon as I get home I'll inventorise the first batch of legions. You never know where it'll take us.

Mind if I pop in?

Hey, here.

We may call my Legion "Loxodontii", if it helps. My colour scheme is more grey skin, anyway (which is what Mastodons actually are. They're not wooly mammoths, they're pretty much elefants)

I think you're allowed to cash in as long as we haven't decided on a fully fleshed roster, which we haven't.

Guess it's time to bust out the names again

>Name: Linares
>Home Planet: Kadir
>Traits: Drinking beer, fighting with swords, strategy, swearing, being a dick and a bro at the same time, trolling, irony and sarcasm
>He has a special power sword, made of silver and adamantium. Has been his sword since he learnt to fight

>Name of the Legion: Silver Swords
>Livery: Full silver power armor. Baroque ornaments in it, inscriptions and stuff.
>Traits: CQC, massive drop assaults, heavy use of tanks as cover, stubbornness, swearing, drinking beer as a ritual, brawling as a competition.

>Side: Loyalists
>Battles: None canon-wise. Fought too far away from Terra to actually being important
>Actually won against the Word Bearers and the Alpha Legion
>Lost against the Word Bearers in a different battle. Almost destroyed.

>Friends: Royal Dong, Vulkan (total bros), Leman Russ, Magnus
>Not-that-friends: Angron, Perturabo, Horus, Guilliman (they got along well, tho)

>Sucessors: Trolls, Beer-Drinkers, Bulls, Silver Hearts.
>Deviations: Use of Tacticals as Assaults sometimes, having a lot of super heavy tanks, special unit: Chosen, personal bodyguard of the Primarch.

>Current Status:
>Chapter Master: Linares (The Legend Never Dies)
>Battles Fought: Crusade against the Traitor Legions. Actually knocked at their doors and beat them.

Forgot:

>Almost destroyed by the Emprah himself because of disastrous gene-seed
>Half of their gene-seed didn't work at all
>Malfunctioning Sus-An membrane
>Ossmodula working at insane levels. Marines bigger than usual.
>Same for Biscopea
>Larraman's Organ could be no longer and won't matter at all
>Catalepsean node malfunctions
>Preomnor and Oolitic kidney letting go lesser venoms and toxins, as alcohol.
>Lyman's ear doesn't work
>Betcher's gland missing

>WTFF no quality control
>Ultramarines and the Emprah went to Kadir to kill them all
>Apothecaries save the day
>Gene-seed fixed and improved with time
>Almost no flaws as of 990.M41
>

What's the twist

>Lyman's ear doesn't work

Marines unable to use drop pods, how embarrassing.

That's why they fixed it

fluff?

Nothing gets better in 40k, dude. Complete fucking disaster geneseed getting repaired to near-perfection screams "something's secretly gone badly wrong".

Ok, so, we have:

>Loyalists
Kule Setanta - The Spears of Dawn
Raj Vokar - The Titan Marchers
Pacha the Earthquake - The Golden Mountains
Filipus the Sheperd - The Sheperds
Denak Madran - The Knights of the Thorn
Linares - Silver Swords

>Traitors
Marduk Engur - Leviathan Host
Oghma of Feagchain-Tur - The Eyes of the Horizon
Kule Setanta - The Spears of Dawn
Raj Vokar - The Titan Marchers
??? - The Loxodontii
Raja Shula Kshatriya - The Blazing Spears

>Need more work
??? - The 11th Legion (Needs more to make them distinctive, but not terrible)
Hatar - The Sons of Apathy (I doubt a legion of marines that don't care are compelling)
Outis - The Nameless Sons and Daughters (As I said before, just vaguer versions of the Alpha Legion/Eyes of the Warmaster/The Justicars)
Purgat Trankurd - The Deadened (Too basic, too pointlessly edgy imo)

>Fuck no
??? - Daughters of the Emperor (Obviously just a troll)

It's a good start, but there would be a lot of stuff left to do.

The Legion is often considered tech-heretic and stuff like that because of modifications and actual repairs to their materiel. My dudes know what they are doing. Grimdarkness comes when they get terminated for being tech-heretics and such.

For example? I have been working on my Legion for some time. Just ask for the Silver Swords deeds and adventures

>describe your talents as a primarch
Jack of all Trades and Master of none with a slight knack for piloting ships and fighter craft.. My real gift is adaptability.
>what is the name of your legion?
Argent Hussars
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
Though we prefer rapid carvery strikes and assuming air and space superiority we also have a broad array of specialists.
>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
I'd argue against wholly abandoning the use of psykers. Restrictions and guidelines wold be fine.
>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
Horus in the beginning as the corruption of my brothers became apparent I'd seek to reconcile with my father and rejoin his forces.
>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
As the last found and only the size of a normal astarties I'd be viewed as the weakest and not considered reliable. However my swift mind would win the respect of Alpharius & Guilliman though for different reasons.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Few opportunities have presented themselves. Our great successes have lain in fleet actions and boarding enemy orbitals. Largely due to my having not landed on a planet but having been discovered aboard a massive nomadic fleet's largest carrier.
>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Shame we're technically fleet based. He'll have to keep up.
>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
My sons tend to be on the small side. Though agile and cunning only a few display the full strength and endurance of a normal astarties.

Oh. A name might be a good thing.
Atticus Voidtamer

Conakt, Primarch of the Celestial Spears

Think of a more ornamented armor, in that silverish colour, more or less.

I like them, don't get me wrong! The only point of critique so far is the name. 'Silver Swords' sounds a bit too generic for my taste.

Assuming me as I am now, largely because I'm pretty sure I'd be a different person if I was three feet taller with muscles like greasy balloons humping each other under my skin. Also assuming my marines are pretty normal, I think space dad would have flushed them before they matured if they didn't turn out right.
The Crippled/The Enlightened

>describe your talents as a primarch
Patience before taking rash action. Humility with a frail body among supermen, if any battle can be fatal only act when you cannot lose. Anonymity among the general populace, even Alpharias can't pretend to be unaugmented.. probably. Well, easily anyway.
Can throw on some dull robes and chat to citizens without people noticing I'm about three times their size.
Ideally a reasonable psyker, but the least compared to my brothers. Finds use in it to augment my own strength and reactions akin to Shadowrun Adepts. Maybe a pinch of precognition if it doesn't seem too Jedi. Though if I'm just a lil' guy with no magic that's cool too. I still get super space armor.
>what is the name of your legion?
Scions of Balance
>what are its main tactics/characteristics?
Void Warfare, Sabotage and occasional Assassination. Shipyards, refineries and supply lines are favored targets before focussing on eliminating the opposing force. Stubbornness to attempt or consider every possible action before ceding territory, resources or advantage to the opposition. Occasionally slow to act because of this.
Blends Shaolin and Zen philosophies, with a smattering of other sources and also borrows from their aesthetic and maybe a little imperial Chinese. Warrior-monks doing low-grav kung-fu with giant suits of power armor on, jump packing around to punch and stab you even harder while inside a voidship though. That's not a bad thing.
Now I write this down, I think I might have made Tenno-Marines. Not intentional, but it sort of works for a comparison.

I don't get you wrong. Just want to help, y'know. And for the name...it comes from a customary weapon of Kadir, adopted in the Legion. They took their name from it.

>as a primarch, where do you land on the whole Council of Nikaea issue?
Side with Magnus and furthering the study of Sorcery. After the Heresy however, this stance was regretted.
>at the time of the heresy, who do you side with?
Loyalists, though edging towards the Imperium over the Emperor himself.

>Describe any special friendships/rivalries your legion has with any of the others
Respect for Jaghatai Khan as another voice of peace in the storm of the other Primarchs, Sanguinius, Rowboat and Horus were also highly respected. Really pissed at Horus later on. Less respect was afforted to Leman Russ and Angron and the like as they were seen as too easily swayed by emotion for their station. Vulkan's cool but the immortal thing is sort of freaky.
Generally fine with most Legions if not their Primarchs however, Death Guard the least so; they were best when they were Dusk Raiders. Good relations with Mechanicus though.
>Describe some of your legion's most memorable victories/defeats
Routine cleansing of ork infestation botched when an Eldar force arrived and claimed that this route was prophesied to lead to destruction and hesitated too long, leading to the Orks secretly constructing ships and spreading to nearby systems. Lost a lot of face for that, and swore to purge this WAAGH! entirely.
Upside was he then slaughtered the lot of them including the Eldar. There's some really nice recordings of the battles though, and a few paintings showing a slim figure dancing between giants with spear and shield, striking a farseer in the neck. 8/10, would visit reliquary again. The hunt resulted in being late for the defense of Terra however, so maybe the pointy ears were on to something?

>Leman Russ has been told that you and your legion are going to Chaos. Now his fleet is in your home planet's orbit. What do?
Invite him to my war room or meeting point of choice to ask him what the exactly he thinks he's doing. Cooperate to an extent but for fuck's sake wolf-boy what are you on right now? I'm one of the least likely of us to fall, have you SEEN some of our brothers?

>what's the major defect in your chapter's geneseed or traditions?
Slow to act, or at least to start. Heavy resistance to hypnotherapy, requires additional training to get it rammed in. Luckily teachings stay up there once forced in, and it's more difficult for whispers from the Warp to get a word in. Can result in apathy to a situation, even if it directly influences them.
Have an odd philosophy regarding luck or dharma. Seeing it as something akin to the soul or blood. Something produced by the self and spent to maintain life and the self. Through meditation and practice one can self-regulate the flow of luck, holding back little bits of luck for a larger surge when needed. It's probably just placebo effects than any measurable effect, but belief does shape the Warp...
>what is your signature weapon, vehicle, or other wargear, and why?
Power Spears are seen as the signature weapon, being prized in the chapter and a noble symbol. Other melee weapons are emphasised, notably fist weapons and somewhat oddly an astartes pattern of the Hunting Lance. A spear with a disposable explosive speartip, the signature weapon of IG Rough Riders but occasionally used by the Scions. Notably, the shaft is not often discarded and used as a staff in combat. Some Hunting Lance shafts have been refurbished and used by the same marine multiple times.
In range, expect to see grenades. Lots of grenades. If it's available in the armory and it has the word "krak" or "plasma" in it, a Scion is going to throw it at someone he doesn't like. Up to and including heavy grenade launchers themselves.

>after the Heresy, what is your former Legion's major deviation from the Codex - or what unique gift does your dark god give your Legion, now?
Legion carved into thirds after the Heresy. A third follow the Codex more or less accurately, nothing a non-Ultramarine would find shocking. Another third told "Okay, fuck the codex. You know what I'm about by now and I trust you to do what you think is right", they become fleet-based and do what astartes do best. I gave them a Writ that basically equates to "They can do what they want, signed A Fucking Primarch and Son of the Emperor". I take the last third and fuck off to see about leaving the galaxy to make an Imperium Tertius. With blackjack. And hookers. And hopefully no space locusts. While working on the "get the fuck out of the galaxy" ship I ponder the Warp as a whole, trying to think of some way to make it not shit. Turns out that's pretty hard.
Those few that do decide "Hey the spikey guy with daemons all around him whispering dark truths and eternal torment seems legit", well they get auras of poor fortune. Bad shit always seems to fall their way, but even worse to those they march against. You'd almost think they were Malal worshippers with the fact that after a battle fucking EVERYONE wishes they were dead including themselves. Pity they're basically immortal now, cursed to eternal bad luck. Even Magnus is lucky compared to them.
>what blandishments did Horus offer you to try to convince you to join?
Security and immortality for me and those under me. Peace everlasting, which Chaos by it's very nature cannot give. Khorne would object if nothing else.

Sort of did these guys before, archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/44247065/#44255254 if you're interested. Fortuna's Host could be one of the Codex Chapters.

I really should have editted this better. But then again this is an anonymous post on Veeky Forums, not an academic paper or anything.
