Will average taking, 9.25 lascannon shots hitting on a 3+ assuming the tank is not able to claim cover or any other positive boost to its default save.

In all reality it was kind of bullshit that this wasn't an option anyways when shooting is all well and good turn one. Besides, IG are the kings of disposable meatshields to screen your more important units, and we have the ability to fire multiple overwatches now, as well as fall back from combat whenever we like.

Plus the characters not having to join squads honestly make them harder to kill now as long as you have decent terrain and hide them from snipers. If an opponent can freely deepstrike into your main line to pick off characters you either don't have nearly enough guardsmen or are a complete moron in the deployment phase.

I'd rather not have blobs be the only viable strategy, I'm a mechanised infantry player (and desu I'm rather worried about having my chimeras drowned under a pile of bikes or wolfwolves or elfdar or whatever on turn one).

6 Lascannon hits will probably do it, 7 if we're lucky. But at least it's reliable and won't explode or get stun-locked. Then again, we got Autocannons which we never used to care about wounding on 5s, Multilasers on 5s, Heavy bolters wounding on 5s, Pulse Rifles on 5s, and god I don't even want to think about what Guass will do this edition!

I can see Tau bust cannons, infantry gunlines, and similar anti-infantry weapons taking some serious bites out of our tanks.

If it's like age of sigmar there's no rules about squads not being able to share transports. Right now with my Kharadron I stick my admiral and a while squad with some gunners in one boat.

Chimeras will likely have the same transport capacity as the new AoS Blimps do. So if it holds 10 and you've got a squad of 9, you got room for 1 character as long as they're size 1.

it's almost a guarantee they'll allow multiple units to share transports given the way they're doing things. It would be absolutely insane to not allow them to do that.

Also why do you care if they need protection in assault? They're not part of the unit any more, they can't be dragged in unless you've positioned the character badly. Remember in the character article YOU get to choose if they join in as long as the enemy isn't directly charging the character.

Honestly the only real concern is that we can't shoot out of vehicles now, but seeing as how all armies are going to deal with that it also means most of the ways people used to pick off your tanks aside from assault are gone too.

All the AM characters are still going to give bonuses to nearby units though. Actually, this way you might be able to boost multiple squads with one character.

2/3 (hit) * 2/3 (wound) * 5/6 (failed save) * 3.5 (average damage) = just under 1.3 wounds inflicted per shot.

against 12 wounds = ~9.25 shots to kill.

Can someone explain why Valkyries only carry 12 models? It seems incredibly inefficient, even in 40k. And are they still crewed by Navy pilots and maintained by Navy crews, or do Guardsmen actually use them?

CadiA may be gone, but CadiANS are still around. Going by what they've been doing in the last codex, I'd say more of the new green/khaki variant.

they are a shitloads of Nova Cadias, and Cadians regiments are still the most numerous. They're not going anywhere I think

You know what change I'd like to see to Rough Riders? To make them mounted riflemen, using horses for fast movement, not some retarded cavalry charge unit. The lances should be an upgrade with Lasguns base.
Hell, Attilan Rough Riders, the ones with actual models from back in the day, are based on Huns, who are most famous for their horseback archers.
