This is incredible. Seems like the kind of thing that'd get gimmicky after a while but the amount of effort the DM put into the character and the way the players leaned into it is just great.

I'm still partial towards this one. Short but sweet.

I never like stories like this because they're just so obvious. Of course the blacksmith isnt going to find love, and of course his adventurous daughter is going to use the shit he made. Its not even a very uplifting story. Nobody other than their daughter is really happy with the way things turned out, and even she just got a free stuff and some self-confidence out of it.

Know what bothers me the most about it? The story completely ignores what could have been a far more bruising story of how good people can sometimes have conflicting ideas on what they want to make them happy, and neither side is actually wrong.

Like, look at how the user is clearly making the "Blonde Bimbo" and "Bumbling Mage" in the wrong by writing them as vapid, self-interested and explicitly evil... Why? Because the Blonde Bimbo turned her back on the Blacksmith's Son and married some asshole, of course! How dare she do that! It's not like the Blonde Bimbo could have had a change of heart and realized she actually wanted the Bumbling Mage, and it's not like they could've actually been happy together while the Blacksmith's Son allows frustration and anger consume him for the rest of his days - oh no, the Blonde Bimbo becomes the Evil Queen and the Bumbling Mage becomes the vile Lich which the Blacksmith's Son's Daughter must slay.

To be fair, getting upset over a username is dumb.

The Mage being evil is kind of bullshit, though. It's pretty much a cop-out to say everyone's faultless because it really was the evil guy the entire time.

It was just a smart evil lich disguised so he could get close to the second hero.
Hell, maybe the first hero fought the lich bravely and the lich defeated them in normal combat, then revived them and went into hiding (As said mage, looking out for heros trying to stop his work)

It's a combination of the fact that Reddit has a lot of thing that are generally frowned upon here (up-vote whoring, active mods and no Anonymity), is a newer, but more "popular" forum that Veeky Forums, has a userbase that leans to the left of the political spectrum and the general "us vs. them" mentality on the internet just makes it a good boogeyman. Most of the time it's used as a meme to say "I disagree with what you've said, but don't have an argument/can't be bothered to make one against you" and can just be substituted with "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" Anyone who actually gets mad at Reddit being mentioned is either trying to be edgy or has some form of autism.

Also for me personally I find the general layout of the sight visual unappealing.

But back on topic, I always like this one, really great campaign idea.
