Endless Legend/Endless Space Thread

Sleeping with the Fishes edition.

The thread for discussing Endless Legend (and Space) fluff and how it could converted into a /Traditional Game/.

She is a Lumeris and her name is Jenestra Omalfi'Meos

I need more art of her.....for research.

bad news, on this thread are the only two pieces of fan art I can find. I cant even find porn

>hot thicc fishgirl
>no porn
This is not acceptable!
May have to go to /trash/ and see if some artists can fix this problem.

...

Dirty hippies. Get off my planet.

Did you deliberately cut out that one guy?

So is she just a really, really voluptuous Lumeris, or is that how all the women of her race look?

Because it seems like more of the former than the latter, maybe Lumeris store excess fat in their tits?

I believe all look a bit like that, but she is is bigger than normal females, as she's fairly wealthy even by their standards.

The specimens of their race range from thin and fit, to spherical

Yo I wanna fuck that frog.

>mfw the design and lore of the Bhagaba
>mfw Deuyivans are actually nerd bugs
>mfw the Z'vali

...

Dumb frogposters.

>fish

shit I thought that was a scalie for sure

Stupid sexy digital vampires.

Mmm, frog legs

Wait, did the Dust munching nobility end up going to space?

No, the Vodyani are very different in acts fromthe broken lords, even if they have a very similar backstory. The Broken Lords at least TRIED to live up to their ideals of chivalry and protection; the Vodyani forcibly 'uplift' + dust suck servitor races because they're better than everyone else so it's their right as heirs to the endless.

Is there anything under the suit to even fuck? Virtuals BTFO

>Implying the Dust wouldn't pleasurably wrap itself around your dick, tingling all the right nerves to blow your mind.

Stat me, Veeky Forums--if you believe you can stat perfection!

>implying I would not just fuck the suit

where is my necrophage bros at?

ayy lamo

LINK TO LAST THREAD

So for all seriousness, for an endless space rpg; do you think it would be possible to hack Traveller (Mongoose, as that's the one I'm familiar with) into it? Heroes/Dust Infused people being Psychics?

>Is there anything under the suit to even fuck?

Consider, if you will, that the suit has special enhancements built into the groin which allows either penetration, or the ability to penetrate. Now, either this will lead directly into the suit itself, or an artificial fleshlight-esque chamber that stimulates the penetrating object - for the purposes of cleanliness, the latter is far more likely than the former.

Do we have canon on what Dust feels like when exposed to the skin? Because if it's anything like what it appears to be like, fucking a Vodyani would be like fucking a blow-up doll filled with an intelligent, warm "liquid" that can move across the skin and apply pressure or friction where it wants to. In essence, it would be like fucking a Dolphin; after the initial penetration and whatever internal architecture lay within, the Vodyani's "body" (in truth, the Dust) does the work for you - unless you want to do the thrusting, of course, in which case it could assume a more passive form.

I'd call it a Dustjob.

Necrophages are underrated. I feel like you could get some fun party banter out of an uplifted 'phage adventurer who is still adjusting to life among normal people.

>Chitters-Too-Much, what the hell are you doing?
What, you don't eat the people you've killed?
>No.
Well, do you want me to save this one so you can lay eggs in it later?
>Dude, no!
Well why did we even kill them, then?

Riftborn #1

You can't be Horatio, I'm Horatio!

where the vaulters love at?

Really shitty design

In their descendants.

>Stick your dick in a woman made of dust.
>Dick gains sentience.

>dick now keeps saying "ayyyy" every time it hardens

>Stick your dick in a Vodyani girl
>Your dick remembers the sensation of sex
>You don't even need to touch it to get off now

The vaulters are now a minor faction you can encounter... I think, or I may. be thinking of something completely different.

Pilgrims are what you are thinking of, they are different

>>Dick gains sentience.
>You literally don't notice any difference

If you think about it, even if your dick developed sentience it would only be able to "see" the world through touch, which would mean it'd associate warmth with comfort and stimulation with pleasure.

Suffice to say, the result isn't as fun as you'd think, you'd just be popping boners all the time.

I haven't read it fully yet, it could be terrible, but I just want to thank you for making an effort.

It must be terrible, since I played very little.
I felt that the threads won't move from discussing lore and games if I won't attmept pushing it

The phrasing of the flavor needs work, maybe we can get a writefriend in for that, but the rest is really well realized and really well researched. If the rest of the factions were made in that style, we'd almost be set then and there. Thank you.

So can the Space Pope drain essence through your dick if she wanted?

now hold the hell up, the range of Walkers' powers is even wider than I thought

I love to hear it.

That's what the sharing is. It seems all wild walkers can shapeshift into their clan's totem animal.
They also turn into trees when they die, which is interesting as well.

Yeah, we don't really know the limitations on Sharing beyond the risk of losing your mind, but it seems pretty powerful. One of the heroes used to spend hours as a snake to eavesdrop on politicians, and another spent two days straight as a cheetah while being hunted.

There are two human minor factions:
The Dorgeshi, an offshoot of the Roving Clans made up of exiled families that chose to trade in the caravan lifestyle to serve as the world's most powerful heavy cavalry
And the Sisters, a society of clerics/warrior-monks/bolterbitches with very Latinic titles and vaguely Japanese names, like Valete Kugua

Would we just make these mechanically identical to an arbitrated major faction, give them their own stats, or perhaps make a generic "human" race?

Should walkers be race-as-class? Like in Savage Species?

They've got 2 different unit types (ranger and shaman) which could be different classes. How about every unit type (range, support, infantry, calvary, and flying) is its own class, and your race gives you special qualities for that class. So a vaulter ranged dude would be similar to a wildwalkers ranged dude, but have some separate utility.

Being cavalry or flying doesn't translate into character classes, I don't think.

Coriolis could be a good system for this with a touch of other Modiphus games

There are way more than that, only not represented and mentionned in game, save for art.

I mean... fish do have scales, so surely they are?

Does this ugly think looks like it has scales?

>Endless Space 2 announced
>Casually keep up with development
>Trying not to get too excited, have become jaded over the years
>All those interesting subsystems
>Keeping the best parts of EL while mixing in the traditional space 4x
>Still trying not to get hyped
>The ship models are beautiful
>The factions aren't all half random human offshoots; something I hated about the first game
>Horatio announced
>Can fucking suck up the genetics of other races to improve their own
>That art
>That music
>That intro
>Those ships
>That B E A U T Y

I can no longer resist the hype train.

Stellaris but right.

Proof that when you give the money to the RIGHT people things happen.

Could you not.

They're different games. They exist in entirely different idea spaces. They don't need to compete with each other.

Stellaris will always be better than Endless Space.
Sorry, I see that you're doing efforts in your writing of the lore, honestly, but out of 8 factions 2 of them catch my attention.

Stellaris was a huge disappointment, especially flavour-wise.

Stellaris has no lore at all...

Through events, dialogues, ethos, tech, it does. I think, you didn't get the point of Stellaris. You're supposed to headcanon everything. Use your imagination. You can even write a bio for your empire in the menu if you like.
"No lore at all" is better than a lore that I find dull.

I don't think it was really made to have lore, that's not to say the game shouldn't have more chains/general things to do. But I don't think it's made to have lore.

For that matter, Endless Space 2's questlines are nice, but you can sorta forget about them for stretches at a time.

That and the game is still fucked on images for me.

For what it did I was disappointed in Stellaris, and still am. There were no events for xenophiles, for example, or those same xenophiles would have the racial war problem when one of the colonies started genetically altering itself. The genetics system was entirely stupid, counting your improved race as a "new one", etc.

Always the same with paradox games.
You don't simply buy something from paradox day one, you invest in it. Kinda scummy but you know what, they actually make free updates and Utopia is great. Most of what you said is fixed by now.

Only so that they can break it later and put the solution behind a paywall.

I was there for the EUIV Common Sense bullshit, and I haven't forgotten.

Amplitude gets shit right in one go.

I think Stellaris' biggest problem is that the empires in it need more internal and external diplomatic affairs. There are a lot of times when I find myself just waiting around to build more of X or Y without much to really look at or focus on, which makes for an easy game to pass some time with, but it means sometimes the game can feel empty.

To steer this back to Endless Space 2, I want to see where the game might go with political parties, I don't have too much time logged, but they feel like side-notes as of right now.

Then how would all the normal humans work at all? It seems like we're pretty set on making it so each major faction is treated as a race in and of itself, which means there is no baseline humanity, which means any human is probably going to just have to arbitrate what group they are most like.

>Amplitude can't get fighters and bombers working for release

At least the designs look nice.

Frog/fish mafia MILF

Muddying the waters is the fact that there are essentially two different types of human on Auriga: Roving Clans/Ardent Mages/Burdeki, who were presumably introduced by the Endless, and Vaulters/Forgotten, who were stranded. Sisters of Mercy are off to the side a bit, we don't really know their story.

Well, don't forget the Lords of the Amber Plains. They're not human NOW, certainly, but they used to be; to be honest I always imagined the Sisters of Mercy to be a breakaway religious faction of them.

Oh, and adding to that you've got the Broken Lords, who USED to be human (probably). Maybe the Sisters are an offshoot of them?

... I guess this is a lesson in always refreshing the thread before posting. Hivemind, I guess?

By playing better setting.

The fact Broken Lords exist and were clearly settle and civilized before tasting the rainbow makes me think Humanity is a bit more varied in the setting than that.

Look at the size of those tits!

It might be, but keep in mind Auriga's past as pretty much one big laboratory/playground for the Endless. The Drakken and the Allayi (and the Guardians) are the only species that we know for certain are natives, and who the fuck knows what the Drakken had done to them.

Point is, any humans on Auriga were probably brought there as test subjects.

The original thread seems to have been lost in a forum merger but in the art of the broken lords topic the concept art straight up said they were Concrete Endless, I think one of their victories mentions their ancestors building Auriga's control hub

managed to drag it up

The Amoeba were like that too, Endless who fucked themselves up with Dust so hard they forgot they did it. The Endless are my favorite part about the series; a precursor race that didn't just "vanish mysteriously," they had a really big war over really stupid shit and fucked themselves up real hard, and some of them are still around in one form another.

Out of the way dust sniffing organics. I got worlds to build.

Peaceful, agrarian-focused robots get me hard, I made some for Stellaris and named them "Gardeners" who would turn every planet they found into Gaia Worlds.

>baby's first 4x games
>SJW at that
>HURR VAULTERS HAVE A TRADITION OF ELECTING FEMALE LEADERS FOR NO REASON
explains why they have no homeland though lmao

This is why no one likes you /pol/. We're having a nice relaxed discussion and then you show up and shit all over everything.

Until someone gets in the way. And then they get turned into compost by battlecruiser sized Sowers.

You could have ignored him.

I guess at some point I might have to look into Endless Space lore, even if straight sci-fi isn't as interesting as the sci-fi wearing a fantasy mask (but then there's some actual fantasy too) of Legend.

Shh, don't give him (You)s.

But then how would he know that he's a meany poophead?

I want to pet a battlecruiser sized Sower!

A world in the path of an approaching Sower fleet would be a good setting for a campaign.

i gotta say, as old the whole pacifistic slowthinking tree pepole thing is, i really like it

also the riftborn asthetics and origins are nice
i suppose that the endgoal is get the cure and fuck off back to their own dimension?

The Amoeba were Endless who intentionally de-evolved themselves and then later re-evolved into the Amoeba.

>Oh no! Aliens are invading, run for your lives!
>Wait, they're planting trees?
>Now they're leaving?
>What just happened?

Pretty much, yeah.

The Riftborn are supposed to be pretty unhappy with the Endless universe since its utterly alien to them and their entire reason for being there is that their home is dying and they need to do SOMETHING.

So yeah...not the best of circumstances.

As much as I want to say /pol/.

I don't like the Vaulters either, mostly because it's just played off as "they're doing everything right and their society is totally okay with everything and they're doing great".

It's just...boring...the other people have some flaws, some character, somewhere to go with their shit. I love the UE's questline because for as far as I got in it, Zelevas come across as someone who actually did give a shit about his empire and if his people were truly content despite his monstrous methods.
