Eh, the education system (especially history/geography) is also fucked up in a lot of other coutries but I think the real difference is that we have much more exposition to different cultures. Travel from Spain to Austria and it feels like you've crossed the world. There also usually are frequent expositions/museums about history and other cultures pretty much everywhere.
