Does anyone else use Tabletop Sim for playing X-Wing/Armada/Imp.Ass./Rebellion?
I feel like nobody actually plays Armada but me.

Yeah, I've used tts to play X-Wing, Armada and Imp Assault.

I personally really like Armada, but none of my friends seem to be as into it. Honestly, same goes for X-Wing and IA really.

>What would you wager in a high stakes sabacc game?

A kiss. Wherever you want it.

Well, do I have a story for you.

Check out Chapter II.

...

That poor droid.

There was a decently active tabletop sim thread on the subreddit but personally I only ever play IRL

I use it extensively for solitaire X-wing practice and visualizations in my youtube videos.

While bounty hunter droids are fairly common, how much leeway are they given to do their tasks? Is it just a matter of checking their guild membership and letting them on their way?

I don't, but my friends who went to Worlds for Imperial Assault said they used a simulator (I think Vassal) to get practice games in.

Vassal's always been more trouble than it's worth for me. At least it was whenever I tried using it for 40k.

Well, my friends wanted to get a feel for what people were playing outside our local meta -- and what worked and what didn't -- before Worlds. It went pretty well for them. Both made top 16.

TTS I only use to play with friends who've moved away.

Vassal is great for experimenting and playing with lots of really good players.

speaking of what's cannon what is Veeky Forums's opinion on the old expanded universe aka legends. Some people hate it some love it. but I think we can all agree it's best that the series is out of Lucas's hands now, lest something like this happen.

What?

We like to mix bits of both that we enjoy.

So in someones game you may see a Gozanti carrier variant with a pair of Star-Wings as extra escort,

The business end of your crack pipe must be red fucking hot
Around here we take what we like from what sources we like and ignore the rest, and that's about it
Now git out

I always figured 4-LOM piggybacked on Zuckuss' credentials and IG-88 blew up any guilds he stepped into on principle.

So let's say droids get a lot of leeway.

HAVE YOU HEARD THE GOOD WORD ABOUT OUR SAVIOUR WARU?
WARU! WARU! WARU! WARU!

Tell me about COMPNOR, /swg/.

Fun mix of Space SS with some OGPU/NKVD doctrine.

We should talk about Waru though

bump

First Order a shit

I wonder what she's laughing about.

>In space, no one can hear you laugh

Somewhere some stormtroopers are on shit burning detail as their evil woman lieutenant has spotted some doughnuts and someone new to torture
"Today is a good day", she laughs

Anybody have storage suggestions for X-wing? My current collection is getting too big for my Plano and I want room for Large ships.

What are some good 2-3 person starships that don't necessarily have a ton of cargo space? Basically a nice non-freighter ship that would be suitable for a party to cavort around the galaxy in.
Ideally one with a nice gimmick to make up for the lack of cargo space.

Make one up.

How many ships are we talking?

What sort of hull size, maximum cargo load, and price range are you looking for? If it's starfighters, the BTL-S3 Y-wing and B-Wing E2 can carry 2 people right off the bat, while the ARC-170 can load 3. Z-95s have also been modified in Legends to carry 2 people. YT freighters can also be modified to have their cargo holds replaced with other stuff--the Wook lists YT-1300 cargo capacity ranging from 25-100 metric tons, presumably depending on aftermarket modifications.

Make one up - better yet, draw up a deckplan.

Better still, let your players have some input into the starship design process - that way, they'll feel even more connected to it, like its an extra party character which they all worked on together.

Patrol and scout ships tend to be like that
Generally have decent sensors, bit more firepower

Any FFG books have ARC-170 stats?

Firespray.

Don't think they have

Theres all the current ones
swrpg.viluppo.net/transportation/starships/

That site is rather out of date now.

I'm not aware of FFG stating the ARC-170. However, they have stated a bomber variant of it in Stay on Target.

Firespray, Jumpmaster, A-24 or HWK-290

Gonna be playing a slightly malfunctioning Law Enforcement droid in an upcoming EotE game.

Know any good sources for imperial laws and regulations I can scream at people for breaking while I beat with a billy club?

Make them up and be whacky about it because you're malfunctioning.

Judge Dredd?

Looking at an Imperial the wrong way

robocop

I'd say robocop 3 because he's malfunctioning in that one, but robocop 3 sucks real bad

I've got a touch of mental block this morning, brainstorming new ideas for content.

What would people think if I did a video showing off some of my favorite X-wing repaints from across the web? (credit given to the painters of course).

I've got another list-breakdown video planned, but I already did one of those this week and don't want to get so repetitive with the type of content I'm putting out there all at once.

I should have not read this on the way to work.

Y-wing, refitted Hwk-290, Z-10 scout ship.
>nice gimmick
couriers are usually fast and nimble, when they're not made with blockade running in mind.

Book of Judgement for Dark Heresy had a collection of law. It fits a federal system very well.
Remplace summary execution by forced labour and it should be adequate for Star Wars.

Yeah bro, repaints are a great idea. Kind of fishing for content, but it can make an interesting vid.

Yeah, I've seen some popular videogame channels do similar vids about fan art and stuff like that. Figure it's nice and cheap content for a slow news period.

Repaints are fun.

You could also do some more game videos, just showing like actual matches. TTS would be super easy to record for that, but tabletop would be cool too.

You could do stuff like how to build an effective rebel team at different point levels
How to make 'canon' squads work, which for the rebels is actually hard since the Xwing is pretty underpowered at this point

Its honestly a better solution then a lot of other filler or repeat content.
Store champs season started and wave XI is soon so you shouldn't have to fill much more.

I really like the idea of showing matches. Even highlight reals with key decisions where you explain the viable options and maybe why they picked the choice they did.

>I main /po/ option
Dark's X-wing MicroHangars
>Money is no object option
Feldherr foam storage
>Money is an object, my printer is broken, but I thought ahead
Save the blister packs and store those in whatever boxes you have laying around
>Money is an object, my printer is broken, and I didn't think that far ahead
There's always a bigger Plano...

My cheap solution was cardboard.
just cut uniform slits in two pieces, side them together and fit it all into a decent box.
It protects them well enough.

Wally worlds carry these neat plastic boxes with modifiable storage areas for like 4 bucks a pop in the fishing section.

I think that they're supposed to be tackle boxes or addons for tackle boxes but fuck that muh x wangs.

Pretty sure you just described Plano cases, user

Speaking of repaints, I was asked a while ago for photos of my rather simple repaints, but my phone broke before I could take them.

I'm now freshly equipped with a new phone, would anyone like to see some imperial repaints? Name a ship and I'll take a photo.

Also, was anyone else getting posting errors just now?

If you are the captain of VSD responding to a distress call from a civilian station, what do you do if you find its under attack by a Dreadnought and a complement of starfighters (mostly Y-Wings)?

Launch fighters and move to engage

VSD one or 2? If it's a VSD 1 assuming we ever get in range just Macross the fuckers or launch fighters.

Call it in to command, then move in to engage, launching fighters to screen

God bless this user for translating.

(No, really her VA was in Zardoz.) Guess Anton was right that she was good looking once.

I have a couple of questions for the veteran Imperial Assault players in this thread.
I'm a noobie and I still don't know if I'm playing the Campaign mode correctly.

I know that in the box it says the game is for 2-5 players. 4 Rebels and 1 player as the Empire.

Each Rebel hero has 1 activation token, ok... what is the corect way to handle a day when you have 5 or even 6 Rebel Players?

Allowing them to activate all their Heroes every tunt? or just stick to the 4 activation Tokens and let them manage that resource?

Thank you for your help.

You alternate activations and the Rebel side has 4 activation tokens. Normally, each character gets 1. If you have 3, the 4th token is a floater that gets passed each turn so 1 character can activate twice. If you have 2, each character activatea twice per turn.

The game isn't designed for 5 or more Rebels, so you're gonna have to wing it there.

(China and Chad are Hutt space)

I'm also impressed by "tsh" C3P0

>(China and Chad are Hutt space)
I mean China DOES like eating amphibians and such.

And they ARE slimy, dishonest sociopaths whose empire is built largely on crime.

Meanwhile Britain is split nearly evenly between the rebellion and the empire, with the rebels having a slight edge.

Can I request all of them?
If not post as many in this order.
Fighter, Interceptor, Advanced Proto, Raider, Bomber, Advanced, Defender

>UK
>Only 50% Empire
Oh shit Bongs what are you doing

>Canada
>Empire
Heck yea bud

That's edging towards Empire, not Rebel.

Well, i don't have a raider, and I only repainted 1 of my ties (bloodstripe) but i'll take some photos.

Is this also the thread to talk about Destiny or does everyone hate that game

this is the thread, but nobody really plays it

Welp

I can't stop playing this dumb fucking game. Is the general consensus just that it sucks or is product availability still a huge problem?

Just got back from character session for a game I'm running. We have one human Ship to Ship Commander, one Mandalorean Soldier sharpshooter, One Bothan Diplomat Agitator, A verpine Engineer and a droid slicer. Is it normal to have very few combat capable characters? I plan on running primmelean(?) haul out of the back of the core book as a first session. Anything I should Anticipate ?

First up, Howlrunner's personal ride.

And a TIE/FO, as Youngster says it's a TIE Fighter.

Youngster says that the TIE/SF is a TIE Fighter too.

I have had this described as an Umbrella corp tie, and I definitely see it. Unfortunately, I saw it after I finished it.

Fuck, forgot to attach.

Availability was a huge fucking pain early on. I just got into it because we could buy the SoR packs at Worlds. I'm not super into it, mostly playing as a fun side game, but I enjoy it.

I have an eKylo, FN, and trooper deck where I just spam weapons and roll lots of dice not unlike a R/G aggro deck in mtg.

Oh no! The T(IE)- Virus!

STARS

And this guy is solid red because I like double Barons of the Empire, and I can never resist a pun.

When did the Umbrella corporation start flying tie fighters?

Not much from stock royal guards on my 4 interceptors. This is mostly so that I can tell which ships are mine.

My bombers are just stock gammas with red engines. Next, the advanced.

Vader's ride is an inverse of my normal scheme.

Next up, defenders.

Are there any new books that we have PDFs of since the Bounty Hunter one in FFG SW?

Whoops, my bad. Ah well, still works.

Looks good user. I may have to do some repainting in the near future.

These are my glaives, named pilots get a different scheme.

And the squad leaders for the glaives-

Also, would it look good to fully first-order-ify this defender? Or should I leave the inner panels black?

Besides the Cascader and the Tailored Jacket, is there any gear that gives a general boost to social rolls?

Any other ships you guys want to see?

Also, as I said I don't have a raider- I really want a raider and the TIE advanced pilots from it- anyone know where I can get them cheaply?

Here's my Decimator.
