Were DEs a nid-tier shit in 7 edition? I have never been interested with them but my girlfriends want to start playing 40k with me. I know that Eldars are top-tier and Harlequins are amazing Kill Team faction but actually I know nothing about DE gameplay

To be fair the ion shield is now 5++, while the 3+ of the armour it's not that impossible to get through

not to say we can wound it on 5+ with str5 weapons and it's going to get procedurally worse as the wounds are chipped

I don't know how punitive its stomp is, otherwise it looks very weak to being swarmed in melee

also do we know what ordnance does/if it's still a thing? hopefully the defiler will become unfucked this edition, currently it's useless because ordnance means it can't fire its other weapons which is A+ retarded design. I want to shoot a battle canon, heavy flamer, reaper autocannon, and havoc launcher from the same crab all at once.

Not really, just always liked sculpting, drawing and painting as hobbies. Found my interest in sculpting the first time I bought some GS back in my early teens, then kept sculpting non-warhammer stuff after I quit the warhammer hobby (just got back into 40k ~4 months ago when I heard of the Traitor Legions book)

What sort of kits are you looking for mate? It's always a gamble. Generally much easier to find/get good deals on stuff that's already been assembled and sometimes painted than the kit itself

DEldar in 7th were pretty low tier, and also really focused on sticking dudes in venoma to use as gunboats.

The good news is that Raiders seem better, and depending on how their basic gun works Gunboat tactics might be better than ever. They're also going to be really fast now, though I expect they'll still want transports.

As long as point costs pan out and melee is decent I think they'll find a place.

It's rare, but sometimes you can get an OK deal. Mostly though, it's people who list stuff at about what you can get from a decent online seller anyway.

When The Choir is activated they all emit psychic screams into a large mass of Eldar Spirit Stones that act as a focusing iris, which then transfers the psychic energy into a captured hive tyrant. they did an entire article on the points system. the points for options will be listed in another part of the books. the points are intentionally not listed on the stat sheets so that they can update them to balance the game.

You give up the large blast, which under the best of circumstances could hit 9 or 10 models, and in exchange for MAYBE hitting those 9 or 10 models with a PERFECT scatter, you can now hit one target Fucking 6 times. This turns large blast weapons from 100% anti troop to highly versatile weapons. Blast weapons can now be used effectively vs everything on the field

The GW previews seem to make a big deal about vehicles being more durable, but is that actually the case? Seems like the ones we've seen need fewer lascannon hits to knock out. They are a little tougher against tau missile pods and half-range melta, but can also be damaged by a wider range of weapons than before.
