If we want to go with a canon, I haven't regularly read Marvel in over a decade so I'd either place it in the early 00s or a vague Marvel Adventures style pick and choose canon. For an original setting, I have some ideas but would likely tie the characters together through a shared origin event.

I've got surgery coming up and am currently on pain meds so that might maybe cause me to miss things. I'll do my best to warn everyone. I should be free from it in mid-June.

GURPS, tried to run a setting where WWII simply never ended, took place in 2100. Lots of weird monster people and stuff. Players were a Neo Nazi and a Brazilian. Self explanatory as to why I gave up.

I've tried multiple IRL Fallout PNP games, but I live in a town filled with uncreative stoners and psychotic tweakers. Failed due to interpersonal drama.

Shadowrun failed because I as a human being cannot handle those fucking car chase rules, and the 5E folks I was running for couldn't even handle hacking.

Mutants and Masterminds failed because I still live in the American Midwest which is just an absolute dearth of creativity and people that don't sexually harass me. Long self explanatory story.

A small logging town slowly turned tourism spot over the years finds itself in the middle of the largest protest in Canadian history.
