This might be a bit reductionist. I know of no groups where orcs/goblins/etc. are actually treated as subhumans to genocide, and I've been DMing or playing for over two decades.

The ONLY time I see orcs/gobbos/etc. freely killed are just situations where the players are assuming the DM placed them there to be automatically hostile. I've never seen a single game table in which the players loop a lasso around a goblin merchant and casually drag him behind a wagon until he dies or whatever.

Also I don't think your idea even holds water in the first place. Orcs are NOT particularly popular as a nonhuman race. Vampires are. Dragons are. Dwarves and elves are both more popular than orcs. Orcs are just there because you need some kind of a nonthreatening, easily beatable mook race for the main characters to fight.

All fiction is informed by politics, though your DM sounds a little heavy handed and unsubtle about it.

That's sort of the thing about orcs actually, (in D&D at least) they effectively represent the idea of tribal people in conflict with more settled civilized peoples with the context stripped out. Also "always chaotic evil" to tamp down on moral ambiguity, especially in earlier editions. They're the barbarians at the gates. In later stuff they sometimes gain aspects of the "noble savage" concept. Inherently political memes recontextualized to distance it from real world politics and ethics.

They're big strong savage foreigners. They're all you ever need when it comes to an enemy race without having to complicate it with excuses or reasoning for their actions like with a human empire. Orcs aren't a one sex race in Tolkien's writings. The specifics of their physiology are never brought up beyond the idea that they're corrupted elves. In Tolkien's letters he more or less states that Humans, Hobbits, Dwarves, and Elves are all effectively one species biologically. Though elves and dwarves are different spiritually.

There are several things you can do here, depending on how far you want to take it. You could ask him if he has some kind of irrational hateboner for elves. Could say that this makes you uncomfortable considering the current situation in europe. You could just say that you actually like elves and may want to play one in the future, but it wouldn't be fun in this world. You could insult his attempts at worldbuilding, why the fuck elves are even that way, they should be extinct already or what the purpose of this fictional race is if getting shat on is all they do.
