Is there something wrong with the megas?

Working for me

Downloading wise, seems like some downloads would just freeze.

Once, in ancient times, there was a great city of sorcerers. They drew their power from a tame God they had ripped from the outer planes, tortured, and kept alive through vicious sacrifice. Eventually, however, they lost control, started turning on each other, and when the God broke free the energies released by its seals being destroyed dragged the entire city into a place on the edge of reality, teetering just on the brink of a plane of dreams.

Above, in the material plane, the world moved on, ages passed, and a new civilization rose. Below, the God tried and failed, over and over, to reach out to those in the waking world. It was a lost child that didn't understand why it had been hurt, and then abandoned. It grew lonely. It grew bitter. Eventually, it reached out through dreams and nightmares, and pulled someone else down to the dead city it inhabited. It placed a crown on their head.

The majority of my campaign had the PCs thinking that the crown was the problem, trying to destroy it when one villain after another put it on. It didn't occur until the endgame that there was someone else granting them power.

Sometimes that's Mega itself being shit, I was able to download a PDF easily

Yeah, trying again. Thanks heaps bro.

No problem, here to help

Do you ever plan for a character to fall, even if they're not a Paladin who can do so formally? Do you find yourself rehearsing what they'd say if they finally gave in to their dark side and rejected their humanity?

And if you do, do you play it for tragedy, or horror, or something else entirely?

I try not to plan something like that

Or else its not organic

Evil gods can be fun, but they should generally have a roundabout solution rather than straightforward kills

I want to see every /pfg/ campaign have a character who falls hard!

Are javelins good?

no throwing weapons are 'good'

I've tried, but I can't bring myself to be truly nasty. Usually I end up as a dickish and unethical TN. Our DM, on the other hand, is apparently a LE fetishist, so we used to end up working for Asmodeus anyway whether we wanted to or not. And the last time he played personally, he was an NE shitbag ninja that was pretty much impossible to stop (because he was a ninja and did everything he could to hide his alignment).

I will give the iconic Antipaladin for at least being funny about his evil. Most of the evil characters I've dealt with were just annoying.

What about the longbow?

Archery is the best way to do ranged combat, followed by dual-wielding thrown weapons. Everything else is shit unless you take a class or archetype focused on it.

Unless you're using PoW, in which case everything is pretty good, even shite throwing weapons.

In an evil campaign we once raided a boarding school full of noble's kids to ransom them back and get money to pay our army. One elf girl who's parents refused to pay got really obnoxious, and was even threatening other prisoners that her smite-happy paladin dad would kill them too if they didn't help her escape. We promoted her to Goblin Morale Officer.

My evil PC was a hormonal misandrist changeling. Gestalt game, so Negotiator Bard/Cleric of Ardad Lili. Good at converting people to her side, supported the party in combat, and was slowly building a harem of monstergirls.

>goblin morale officer

Christ.

So... They ate her? Goblins are many things, but rapists they are not.

Is it true that 80% of the men and women in the Land of the Linnorm Kings wear their hair as an undercut?

What is better as backup ranged weapon for characters not specialised in it? Bows, crossbows, guns, throwing weapons...

Sling.

The ideal weapon of any pikeman or noble swordsman is the hackbutt.

If dex crossbow if str sling

What's so good about slings, besides the fact that they're cheaper than composite longbows?

Generally if you can use a bow, they're ideal, but for a cheap backup, the Sling is the best possible, its range is the real winning factor as well as providing str to damage.

My PC NTR'ed another PC just to pay back an insult.

Hey, we enchanted her to enjoy the first few hours!

Next you'll be claiming that dwarves dislike beer.

How threatening are a bunch of soldiers/bandits/monsters with firearms compared to crossbowmen or archers?

The goblins would make a sport of cleaving off her extremities, they would gnaw her face off or set her on fire. They would pickle her still-living organs or see how many times they need to drop a very big rock to smash her ribs.

But they won't rape her, of all the beasts Paizo has not balked at admitting would screw a guy or girl, goblins are not and have not ever been one of them.

Depends how close they are.

Close range firearms are far more dangerous because they go into touch AC while crossbows and archers have longer range and faster reload (depending on level and weapons in question)

People will tell you they're not dangerous at all. Those people are liars. A squad of gunmen with some pike support is devastating, the Tercio works in Pathfinder.

maybe they weren't paizo goblins

Depends on the class of the enemies and said abilities

Would've surprised me, user is worshiping a Whore Queen and using PF classes.

How would you rank the game's ful caster spell lists, from best to worst?

That's a hard question to answer, without adding more details. You're basically asking us to make a CR calculation without telling us the number of individuals in the troop, or what creatures they are.

Wizard/sorc/arcanist > Witch > Cleric/Oracle > Druid

I don't know psychics for shit but its probably below witch and above cleric/oracle

its worth noting that domains and such make some of the lists far better

Mostly I ask because I've heard that firearms are not too stellar (at least at the hands of PC).

Psychic would be just tied with witch, really. You forgot shaman, but their list eats shit and is below Druid.

Firearms are amazing as long as you're getting dexterity to damage from gunslinger or trench fighter

without that they're are sheer garbage

Shaman's list doesn't matter at all to them cause wandering spirit lol

In the hands of mooks they can potentially be better than other ranged weapons due to hitting touch-AC. But that assumes that the party(or at least most of it) has too high regular AC for them to reliably hit, at which point the mooks will likely be useless anyway(unless, like the other user said, they're getting dex to damage). And such mooks will likely get their shit kicked in effortlessly anyway.

>Firearms are amazing as long as you're getting dexterity to damage from gunslinger or trench fighter
Dex to damage makes firearms okay. It does not make them amazing.

So... just because paizo never explicitly included goblins as rapists, as compared to ogres and orcs and everything else, they're not?

We used PF for a system, but the setting was Dungeon Keeper. Also the player running a Dark Mistress ragequit when I got better at converting captives.

no, it absolutely does make them amazing, guns are murderdeath autohit against most enemies in pathfinder

Some archetypes trade out wandering spirit, tho

We call those 'shit'

I've been away from Pathfinder for a while, looking through the SRD as I plan my next character (probably a Fighter of some kind).

When did they add the Vigilante class? Was it always there? Mother of God, it HAS A MAGICAL GIRL ARCHETYPE. People have an excuse now! I'm sure I'm the slowest of slowpokes, but the absolute madmen!

That aside, it seems like you could get a 4 player all-Vigilante group with all areas covered. Some kind of Avenger for beefy role, some kind of stalker for rogue needs, Zealot archetype for divine magic, Warlock archetype (or magical girl if your group wouldn't kill you) for arcane. That way the whole group could play their social part together and then transform for the fighting, too. Anyone tried campaigns with them?

Yeah, because the class' spell list is shit. The fact that the shaman has features to circumvent that doesn't mean the spell list itself isn't shit.

i wasn't disagreeing

Wandering spirit is the justification for why its own spell list is allowed to be shit

Some people have probably done all Vigilante games, one of the few ways it can really work. Also the magical girl archetype is just a worse version of the Summoner.

the magical girl archetype is garbage though and since they made transformation sequence a social talent available to ALL vigilantes at level 1, completely irrelevant.

Which Vigilante archetypes are good, then?

Magical Child is ultra shit, and its transformation sequence has become a social talent for any vigilante with any kind of magic at all. Warlock is/can be a better "magical girl" than the actual magical girl archetype.

Warlock and Zealot are mediocre but playable on account of being half casters, but both are massively improved upon by the use of Legendary Vigilantes and Legendary Villains: Vigilantes by Legendary Games. Especially Warlock, whose Mystic Bolts are guttertrash after a certain point without some of that shit.
t. warlockfag who bullied jolly into adding warlock stuff

Magical girl isn't fantastic but Vigilante as a class is really good.

I recommend looking into Legendary Vigilantes if you want support for it, especially on the magical front.

Honestly, I feel like giving everyone some progression in vigilante talents/social talents would be a good alternative to gestalt that breaks the game less. Gives you some extra fun progression but a good chunk of it is non-combat.

Honestly I've been throwing around the idea of Gestalt but forced vigilante as the 2nd class because vigilantes can be ANYTHING

but i have no time for such frippery.

Vigilante is in a weird spot compared to the rest of the game, but the overall class is pretty good. Giving their social stuff to others could do a pretty nice job of helping classes like Fighter be more fun.

Are there any Vigilante archetypes that you wouldn't recommend anybody taking? This includes LV and LV: V.

>Wildsoul (Eagle, Cat) are excellent
>Warlock and Zealot both have nice lists, teisatsu is Stalker +1
>Serial Killer is "Cursed Stalker +3"
>Agathiel is mediocre but delicious flavor

Is it just me or is there something wrong with this attack, I feel its off

+1 ki focus shock kukri +17/+12/+7 (1d4+7/15–20 plus 1d6 electricity) and unarmed strike +11 (1d8+6) or
unarmed strike flurry of blows +19/+19/+14/+9 (1d8+6)

Str 22 Bab +13, a guy from my group browses here so I dont wanna give to much away

o woops they have Wepon focus for that kukri

It would have been clever and neat if they made enemies require a Will save to attack any magical girl transforming, seeing as everyone always seems to wait for transformation sequences to end.

Hmm, I see. What about more melee oriented ones? More specifically, I'm talking about Hangman, Dynamic Striker, and Masked Wrestler.

Hangman is whips and healing so it automatically went into the garbage bin for me. Stuff from LV/LV:V is almost all decent to good, and Dynamic Striker is amazing is you intend to be an unarmed Vigilante if I remember it right.

>Whips and healing
>Grappling autocorrected to healing???

The fuck

What about identity altering ones like Consumed and Exposed?

What character build/personnality is the most fun to play ?

Exposed is A+, and basically a patch for flavor for the most part. Consumed is a neat idea but kind of lame.

>Warlock is/can be a better "magical girl" than the actual magical girl archetype.

Hell, you're right. That energy bolt thing is a big thing I was feeling 'missing' when I was trying to stat Fate just now as a Magical Girl. The warlock talents are also classical magical girl shit, and they even eventually get the familiar too!

Change Warlock to a Charisma-based caster instead of Int and give her the magical transformation ability for something, and it'd be perfect. How disappointing.

>Cha-based Warlock

Jolly has you covered there senpai. You'll have to wait until 3rd for the transformation sequence though.

Latest update for Starfinder: The Mystic

This is the one of the Magic Classes for the game. It's magic reaches the equivalent of 6th Level spells, which are the highest in Starfinder. It basically combines all those Arcane, Divine, and whatever made up magic groups you can come up with. However, 9th level stuff is in the books if you port over your Pathfinder character, but not Starfinder accessible.

paizo.com/paizo/blog/v5748dyo5ljtz?Class-Preview-The-Mystic

What do you think of it's special ability:
>Backlash (SU)
>Whenever a foe succeeds at a Will save against one of your spells and completely negates the effect, that foe takes 1 nonlethal damage for each mystic level you have. This is a mind-affecting pain effect.

What options did those books add for Warlocks?

Yknow what

Starfinder I'd shaping up to look kind of good

In no particular order:
>A talent for Precise/Point-Blank Shot in one
>Auto-scaling TWF talent
>Making all class abilities either Int or Cha based by trading out the 1st level social talent
>A feat for making mystic bolts work with with clustered shots and deadly aim/power attack, as well as adding Int to damage
>Archetypes that stack with it
>A feat for extra bolt range, which is more a QoL thing

There's a guide in the zenith have guide list for the archetype, though it isn't too great.

It's almost like not being shackled to 3.5's sacred cows is a good thing.

Pls someone answer, this will be my first character and I don't want to fuck him up

Someone who casts Reduce Person on their Maid and buys little dresses for them.

Alternatively, Dragon Royalty Jester.

Man just make what you think sounds fun, everybody loves different things.

user, that is something entirely subjective. Some people like seeing big damage dice, some people like killing people with magic, some people like being support. What kind of gameplay do you prefer?

This depends massively on what interests you. More information is required. What does everyone else seem to be going for? Do you like hitting dudes or helping allies?

I'm in for the roleplaying, I've been the class clown for all my life, I'd like a character fun to play that fits me.
>Dragon Royalty Jester.
I don't get what you mean I googled it but I can't find any explanation

Or maybe a kind of perverted character a la Hisoka

Bard. Easy answer is Bard. Go through the d20pfsrd to see if the mechanics make sense to you and then get back to us.

Maybe try the Court Fool archetype for Bards?
d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/bard/archetypes/paizo-bard-archetypes/court-fool-bard-archetype/

Dragon Royalty is a homebrew race:

docs.google.com/document/d/1z3EOSCTZTBbNGO60d9O9xnVhVaeAayIIidXg6WeXQps/mobilebasic

It's in a few /pfg/ games. Play as a young one dressed up as a clowm

That's really subjective, since we don't know what kinda shit you like, user.

Just go with what kind of character you think you would like to play, then build the class around the personality.

This week in FotJR:
Why you shouldn't split the party

Wow, nice. Seems Warlock is viable, then.

For what? Versatility? Power? Ability to sandbag? Let's go with breadth and depth of options.

>I can do anything
Sorc/Wiz, Clr with Domains, Wandering Lore Hex Shaman

>I can do a lot of things
Clr without Domains, Shaman.

>I am focused on doing a specific thing
Witch, Psychic, Druid

Although the Court Bard is also pretty good at playing around, depends on whether you want to do stupid tricks or insult people.

d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/bard/archetypes/paizo-bard-archetypes/court-bard/

Definitely Bard.

What should be my personality then, any fun fetishes to give to my character ?

Oh and also what race is the best for this archetype ?

>any fun fetishes to give to my character
Haha what

The Shaman list only falls off at spell level 7. It has its pick of Cleric, Wizard and Druid spells for battlefield control/save or suck as well as solid utility and a bunch of weird shit.

You want a bad list? Witch. Only built for bad touch with no real utility. Psychic is bad about this too.

The Shaman is considered bad because it is ungodly MAD when falling for the Arcane Enlightenment meme, not for its spell list.

Well I'm going for something close to Hisoka, it's pretty obvious that he should be fucked up

He's a pedophile already, there's enough fucked up there that he doesn't need the extra fetishes.
