Yeah, making metal plate armor look sexy without a strong emphasis on breast shapes or midriffs seems like it'd be more trouble than not. If you want to sex it up, it's a good way to go. I'd just generally like more emphasis on everyone looking cool. Well, my own narrow idea of "cool."
If I had my way, there'd be only a very subtle difference between what's normal for a male combatant and a female combatant in most settings, high fantasy and sci fi especially.
