DEATH GUARD ARMY FOCUS

warhammer-community.com/2017/05/23/warhammer-40000-faction-focus-death-guard/

You should link the new thread in the old thread.

Going to buy the box and then deep strike on Ebay for those selling these cultists separately.

>mfw adding these to my mutant hordes for Lost and the Damned.

>Doesn't link to it from the old thread
>Is suprised when nobody knows it exists

We already had a general here user..

>Another unit to get excited about are Poxwalkers, the other Troops choice for the Death Guard. Coming in at 6 points in matched play with Disgustingly Resilient, they are a very solid pick. This unit also never has to take morale tests, which means you have to kill them to the last man (zombie?) which is not an easy task. Another cool rule they have is Curse of the Walking Pox, allowing you to add another Poxwalker to the unit every time they slay any enemy Infantry models. This unit is great for holding objectives or for screening your more valuable units from the hyper-fast assault units we’ve seen in armies like Tyranids. Also, if you’ve got Typhus on the table, he increases the Strength and Toughness of nearby Poxwalkers by 1 with his special ability, bolstering their already formidable durability!

They are zombies!

Does anyone else love how fucking goofy these guys are?

This one has already grown to surpass it, next time link the new thread in the old one.

Orks up next

Zombies are 6 points. That actually feels about right, given their reliable FNP and some chance to recover dudes (unless that counts as summoning and you need to pay for them, in which case it's quite shit).

Yes, love it.

>Poxwalkers. Coming in at 6 points.
>they have is Curse of the Walking Pox, allowing you to add another Poxwalker to the unit every time they slay any enemy Infantry models.

And here I was assuming free model syndrome was gone.

Thanks Nu-GW!

FUCKING REEEE
POXWALKERS ARE THE SAME POINT COSTS AS BOYZ
ORKS WILL NEVER BE GREAT AGAIN
REEEEE

>Blight launcher
Doublekrak?

Any of you anons play games lately?
And i know a lot of Veeky Forums is excited about 8th but I'm still bummed out about the end of AV14 Russes and blast weapons. How do you think they'll balance and buff the Russ in spite of this? And what is everyone excited for /dreading about 8th?

Not sure if I like it or not.

They look too inhuman for the "human face of the cult", the regular dudes following the monsters and super soldiers around.

Doesn't in AoS.

Zombies and skeletons can bring back models, but only up to the max unit size. Figure it's the same.

>hey goys nu-gw here!
>orks have had a horrible case of too many model syndrome so we made them all twice their costs so people can start fielding a high point ork force more easily.

>Have to set aside points

>these guyd knock on your door and ask if you've heard about the blessings of Nurgle and the eternal afterlife

What do you do? Keep in mind that their smiles are worth protecting.

Adding one model for each slain model for a unit that is most likely going to hit on a 5+ with S:User VP0 is not as bad as summoning completely new units

Also, if it works as AoS, you can't go beyond the number of models you had in the beginning

They are zombies, not cultists.

Looks like a fun game but somebody needs to paint at least one of those models.

>zombies 6 points
>a cultist with an autogun and a mark of nurgle will be 7 points and not get FNP or any other fancy abilities
non-legion chaos btfo again as usual

They're fucking amazing, I love them. Don't like everything else save the Daemon Engine which I'm building into a DarkMech Arvus Lighter cockpit, but they suit the cartoony paint job really well, Labcoat Guy especially.

I've assigned him a Jamaican accent in my head already, and I have no idea why.

-Some version of FnP
-In an all DG detachment, Plague Marines are Troops
-Plague Marines: T5, reroll 1s to-wound in combat, Blight Launcher: Assault 2, S6, AP-2, D:D3, 24"
-Pox Walkers: Zombies, 6pts each, immune to morale, make more zombies when they kill infantry. +1 S and T when Typhus is nearby.
-Miasma of Pestilence psychic power: Enemy subtracts one on to-hit rolls versus buffed unit.

>knowing what happens on Thursday already
Tell me your secrets

>Doesn't matter, you're already dead

It's probably better to just buy the box myself and sell the other half right?

Tell them I'm already following Slaanesh and invite them in for a orgy.

I remember those unpaint Tyranids

They dont look like walking human corpses, they look like alien daemons.

they better have an update on this

>comparing 7th edition stuff to 8th edition stuff
will you guys please stop doing this until you know what you are talking about

After three fucking editions of non-legion being only edition, go blow it out your barrels you fucking rotary cannon.

Uh, the other general does link to the previous thread. This one doesn't.

After getting a look at more of the Primaris stuff, I'm really glad I decided to not go with making a full force of them.

I'm gonna just stick with conversions.

thought a faction focus would be out by now what time do they usually come out?

I play Tzeentch Orks.

Try to read the thread

...

I knew it was coming, but seeing that psychic power and knowing that it is basically the end of shooty orks feels bad. How do GW not grasp that putting modifiers on rolls that some armies are really bad at fucks the game? -25% to marines and -50% to orks can not be balanced, because it's effectiveness depends on which army you are playing against.

Only vague hope remaining is that some ork units can ignore that kind of thing or that literally every army can easily throw out loads of -1 to hit modifiers and ork shooting is really, really cheap to compensate.

Unimportant

No, link the new thread in the old thread.
That way people will go to the new from the old without having to look through the catalogue.

Why do you think this thread took off despite being newer? It was linked to in the old thread.

Wait is this official?

you already got your traitor legions book in 7th and you also aren't done paying for the sins of the 3.5 codex

>Also, if it works as AoS, you can't go beyond the number of models you had in the beginning
Bummer, I was looking forward to sending in a group of poxwalkers against conscripts and getting 50 new poxwalkers.

It was.

>All of muh conscripts

yes sadly the meme originated from a GW publication meant to drive sales of nobz and nauts

Fine with that. Horrors have that same limitation.

So long as there is a limit.

Going by the cost of the stuff we've seen so far, boyz will either have a significant buff or be 4 points per model.

Hopefully find out on thursday whether it's time to dust them off or put them into storage.

Poxwalkers with Typhus seem like they'll be the mother of all tarpit.

BUT ORKS FOCUS TOMORROW YO! WAAAAAAAGH!!!

Well, consider that against Orks, any modifier after the first is also useless. An army of really stealthy and shrouded units will probably be cutting marines in half as well, and even lower if they want to move with their heavy weapons.

Meanwhile, Orks can have their Looted wall around still hitting on 6s with no trouble, and an Ork army is far more likely to bring a bunch of flamers anyway to get around poor BS.

Plus, you can always do the ultimate, method of ignoring all cover and charge them.

>FRFSRF costs CP
>Guard BTFO

They're like something straight outta Cartoon Network

I love Harlequins so much.

Will Harlequins be good in the new 40k?

>ORK TOMRROW
'ERE WE GO

Day after tomorrow.

...

Cegorachi, user.

Well if orkz can put 200% more shots/attack for similar point values it kinda evens out.

Play Shadow War

Assuming you can get a game

>will you guys please stop doing this until you know what you are talking about
That doesn't sound very Veeky Forums.

>L-leave me alone Chad!

>TOMRROW
You iz a git wut dunno da days.

who is ready for another edition of 15 year old cadian models, 18 year old khorne berseker models, and the still kirby era pricing on a lot of kits like MANz, Tyranid warriors, and Ogryn?

'Mornin' brew' user here.
In my defense, it was kinda hard to link the new thread in the old thread when the old thread had already been archived by the time I looked for it.

>ORK TOMRROW
>'ERE WE GO
>TOMORROW
It is Wednesday already? Next faction focus is Thursday user. I'm an Orkfag and even I know I'll have to wait 2 days until I see how good da boyz are treated this edition.

>rubric squads got the flamers and autocannon
>plague marines get plasma(?) and a grenade launcher
>noise marines get ?
>berzerkers get ?

Or how bad.

20 year old SoB

Next year they'll be legal all around the world now

Maybe, assuming modifiers stack and that 6 is a guaranteed hit.

There are several scenarios which lead to ork shooting being viable. They just all seem to need a lot of things to line up right, which would require someone in the design team to (a) care about orks enough to balance the whole game around them and (b) not subscribe to the 'melee race' meme or a hell of a lot of luck.

I still have a glimmer of hope, but I'm painting my admech at the moment...

Oooooh yeah silly me, Thursday, not Wednesday.

Whatever we get, it better be LOUD.

>knives and krak repeaters*

>noise marines get Sonic Blasters, Doom sirens, and Blastmasters

>berzerkers get Chain axes

Poxwalker spam is the new cultist/tzeentch daemon spam

Fuck, that 'choose your allegiance' meme turned out to be sorta true.

Berserkers get Skull-boomerangs,

Berserkers might get specialist melee weapons.
Evicerators, maybe?

>yfw Chadmarines deploy their own Noise Marines blasting youtube.com/watch?v=mrjStSqu_w4 at full force into Chaos Space Marinelets faces

The tau didn't have to pay nearly as long for FoF

I mean, you can only get like 35 of the fuckers going by 7th cultist max.

>Berserkers might get specialist melee weapons.
Chain Axes, maybe a 2h chain axe.

>Berserkers might get specialist melee weapons.
>Evicerators, maybe?
not until they get a new kit

We were warned about this release format at least a month ago.

SoS and Custodes have their own title.

Inquisition, assassins and SoB got shafted into Imperial Agents.

Well at least we are not marines getting replaced by Primaris

Indexes are basically quick n' dirty 8E updates.
Codexes are coming out later to slowly make the rules all obsolete.

Sure, unless they are facing an army which doesn't have access to to-hit modifiers, in which case they become overpowered.

Rock-paper-scissors gameplay is kind of inevitable in games like 40k, but I'd really rather it wasn't at an army level where you basically know who is going to win based on the force they are playing. Even worse, when some armies have toolkits which let them choose rock, paper or scissors and some have a bag of rocks.

Ofc. We'll call it a "Bloodviscerator"

Retarder GW naming conventions aside, can definitely see KB's being the guys who can take melee special weapons 2/5 or 1/10

>Or how bad.
I dunno, it's pretty hard to beat how bad the greenskins have been treated in the last couple editions.

I mean, Orks were the original Lootas, but GW took that away from us and gave us bland Deffguns and Looted Wagons in place of Looted Vehicles and old Loota rules. And then they turn around and give GSC the ability to loot imperial vehicles (and make them BETTER no less!) but still wouldn't let the boyz go back to our old Looted rules.

And that one is just my pet issue with how GW's treated Orks the last couple editions. I'm pretty sure other players can bring up other ways Orks have been shafted crunch-wise in recent years.

>tfw less memorable than the white scars so no one even notices you lost your own codex
not that i mind, i just liked allying them in with their own special orders

>7 Plague marines
It'll be 1/8.

Rubrics just got shit on for literally no reason

yeah but those are tau not chaos

everyone remembers how utterly broken it was to have your bersekers leap out of transports randomly, have a whole lot of restrictions on what units could be taken (there was a big chart if I recall), buy grenades separately, and to have a whole legion whose one ability is to take a single basilisk

for as much ass players hated the 4e chaos codex, compare it to the 7e chaos codex and you will weep tears of sadness. Many units were weaker and more expensive in 7th than in 4th, and with no clear reason why
