Making a dedicated magic-item crafting character since my DM OK'd leadership so long as my cohort stays the hell off the battlefield.

Class is 3.5's Artificer, so the basic item creation feats are covered.

What feats, aside from UMD/spellcraft boosters and Cooperative Crafting, are worth taking for such a character?

All PF 1PP is on the table, and I can definitely give 3PP a run past the GM if it's worth considering.

Repostan

My friend, who has GMed before but not Pathfinder, has decided that he wants to GM a game of Mythic Pathfinder.

I have tried to tell him this is a bad idea as someone who has GMed regular pathfinder before, but he isn't listening and thinks he can do it.

What should I expect? Are there any more... concrete examples than "Balancing encounters will make you want to murder yourself" of the problems here?

Alternatively, what class could I use to THATGUY the game in as comical of a way as possible?

Just Skill Focus and those kinds of check boosters, and that's about it.

>What goes into finding a character portrait for you?
As long as it looks like my character, or I can build a character out of it, I'm happy.

It needs to look masculine and not trappy.

Just play a typical mythic vital striker, some kind of Fighter. Your friend sounds like the sort of guy who goes online, reads a tier list, and starts shitting about broken 9th level casters without actually knowing what makes them good or how to break them.

>Alternatively, what class could I use to THATGUY the game in as comical of a way as possible?
Wizard is always the first to come to mind, especially Enchantment or Conjuration specialist.

Sadly I know next to nothing about Mythic, however if you wanna see what a crazy encount is without mythic, just look at the stats for the Wendigo and try to wonder how to legit defeat it in a straight up fight

This, but not too bulgy. It's hard to find a guy who's masculine and looks like an adult but isn't a grizzled bearded meat-mountain.

Sometimes I just want to play a normal-looking dude.

In case some Anons missed it yesterday, but Paizo put out some details on the Soldier Iconic.

Fairly typical Fighter background, but I'm sure there are people out there who are going to go wild over the brain slugs.

PLS RESPOND

I have to want to fuck him.

Checking weeb art sites until I find something I like.

Like pic related, which I'm going to use for my PotD app who may or may not be a team mom christmas cake.

I think it's more that he decided he wanted to run a campaign about Demigods, read the description of Mythic after playing a level 1 campaign I GMed, and decided this was the ticket. I don't think he truly understands how broken Pathfinder gets later on. He's also decided that he wants to run the combat tests with another friend while learning how to run games in the system.

I am developing something of a desire to educate him the hard way.

It has to look good and give me an idea.
The latter more so than the former, really.

>Your friend sounds like the sort of guy who goes online, reads a tier list, and starts shitting about broken 9th level casters
Where in the flying fuck did you even get that from?

I want Obazaya to femdom me while we're both high on brain slugs and careening through the universe at the speed of light

>What goes into finding a character portrait for you?
Looking through my stash of unused character inspiration pictures and picking one that speaks to me.

Anything I should know about making either a Sorcerer or a Wizard in Pathfinder?
I'm looking to make a Half-Orc spell-slinger of some sort and those are the two I'm most likely to play.

Game takes place in Numeria, this character is going to be a former slave who in his childhood was forced to explore the riskier parts of the space-craft. Eventually the group came across an artifact that did something like fuse them with alien DNA or something.
He was lucky and managed to hold onto his sense of self, and int the process the machine awakened his dormant magical talent.

>tfw you will never cuddle with Obo after a long and hard day of fighting against the catfolk barbarians of Vesk-6
W H Y ?

>M. Kawase has applied to ensoulment
How retarded is this going to get?

Oh, this will get worse before it gets better.

With that backstory you're looking for being a Nanite Bloodline Sorcerer, meaning you're going to specialize in Transmutation. Now, because you're a Sorc, you either need to MC+PrC unto a more combat oriented class to make the most of the spell choice, or you're going to mosly be using the more utility based transmutations to solve out-of-combat problems with your spells.

Sadly, I personally don't have much experience with Sorcs, so I can't help you anyfurther. Can another user come in and provide more advice?

You know, I'm pretty sure I over-thought this, but I think I have an idea to make Brain-in-a-Jar user's idea work easily.

Skip if playing Vesk:
>Parent's sent to a Colony world
>It sucks
>Vesk show up, all war-like and ready to blow stuff up
>Colony does not like people who sent them there
>Colony instantly 'gives up', forcing the Vesk to put money in and make the place work
>Colonists allowed to join Vesk military

Now for the real thing:
>Joins Vesk military
>Gets blown up, probably by something dumb
>In attempt to cover it, thank you politics, the megacorp hired to handle things offers him a sweet body at an expensive yet reduced rate so they can write the whole incident off
>Accepts, Universe weeps

Transmutation is one of the two god-tier schools. He should have absolutely no issues in combat with a decent selection of buffs, debuffs, and BFCs.

That's really up to protag and if he wants to give kawase a place at the table.

So basically Robocop/Deus Ex?
Whoever asked for this?

What is wrong with Kawase (as a player)?

I was actually thinking of going Draconic Bloodline. I know that there are space dragons and in that one of the many supplemental books that there is a way to personalize your draconic bloodline stuff.

Maybe I'd say that this machine had a tissue sample from one of these space dragons. or just go strait up alien with the Aberrant Bloodline. Or some other spacey bloodline.
I want to go for a more organic bloodline.

I can't believe Taveena is gone.

F

What

Like I mentioned, it's someone who wants to play as a brain in a jar with an awesome robot body. I think this is the most lore friendly way to do it.

F

I'm confused. A Flambard can be used as a Bastard Sword if you're not proficient with it? But a Bastard Sword is exotic too, except a Bastard Sword can be wielded as a martial weapon if you two-hand it?

If you're proficient in a Bastard Sword, can you wield a Flambard as a one-handed weapon? If you're proficient in both, do you get the sundering bonus with a Flambard wielded one-handed?

Why are there no obyr—sorry, qlippoths, who teach mortals to be free of sin, thereby liberating the Abyss from the taint of the tanar—sorry, demons?

"Qlippoth who teaches virtue and altruism" seems like an appropriate character for a gonzo Abyssal game such as Dimensional Ark Abyssia.

>TWO feats for a sundering bonus
AAAAAAAH

Yes.
If you're proficient with BS but not Flambards, it's a 1hand BS.
If you're proficient with it, it's a 1hand BS with a sunder bonus.
If you're proficient with neither, it's a 2hand BS.

Don't qlippoths hate all life, because it reminds them of how awful and revolting their own existence is?

>Or some other spacey bloodline.
Starsoul? Its kinda cool, plus the arcana is a godsend for Evocation Blaster builds. Or if you wanna focus on instead bringing out his own magical potential, you could grab the Orc Bloodline. If not, Abberant is still a fine choice, or you could even Crossblood anything with Arcane to grab a Brute Familiar who can make better use of your Transmutations

I was making a reference silly, sorry

Because Qlippoth are beings of pure cosmic CE, even more so than Demons. Destruction and Corruption is at the very core of their nature, and they have no faith in the weak will of sapient mortals to actually be useful in eliminating demons.
Also fuck you and your trap bullshit

That was actually what I was going to use one for.
A deranged wizard and one of them created an entire empire of tieflings in a grand experiment to see if they could create life without the ability to sin. It worked, but too well.
Most of them aren't destructive or evil, and have an unusual understanding of druidic magic and shamanism.

That looks like it's meant to pastiche Disgaea portraits!

Qlippoths hate demons and mortals primarily. Demons, for occupying the Abyss, and mortals, for spawning demons via sin.

Qlippoths also want their home back. If they just kill mortals, who knows how many more demons will spawn in the Abyss? That simply will not do.

Better to teach the mortals to be free of sin and kill them only then.

Dude, just make her a legitimate mom.

>but I think I have an idea to make Brain-in-a-Jar user's idea work easily.
I'm here! I'm here and I'm loving that idea! I'll totally be putting this on the ole backburner while we wait for more rules on creating characters.

But why? Crafting DCs are trivial, all you need is ranks in Spellcraft and you can make pretty much anything you want by taking 10.

Any suggestions on spells to pick up or general advice?
You all have been really helpful so far.

Cool. I was just in line at the store and it wouldn't get out of my head. Hopefully you'll find a campaign to enjoy it in!

Sorry I didn't get it

But she was too focused on her career to settle down. Besides, I think she couldn't leave to adventure if she had a little one to still take care of and raise.

>They left the discord

Oh, damn.

>If they just kill mortals, who knows how many more demons will spawn in the Abyss?
That's why qlippoth want to not only kill all mortality so as to dry the well, but also destroy all heir souls, or otherwise lock the Abyss away from the rest of the planes.

Also they want to kill the Daemons too for creating the Demons in the first place.

And remember, most Qlippoth are barely even sapient to begin with, so very few would even know how to teach mortals. Combined with the fact of thir cosmic nature of beings of pure abbysal taint as stated in, te idea of them trying to do something completely impossible such as teaching all mortals to be free of sin, which is completely impossible for mortals due to all of them having free will, and antithetical for Qlippoth to attempt to do because of their Chaotic nature. Honestly, the onle race of fiends that would even attempt to force mortals to live without sin would be the Devils, and only because that was the whole reason behind Asmo going on his autsim-fit

Also your pic is not what a Motherless or Wlippoth would even look like at all! Its more of a Pitborn than anything else.

Also your taste is shit and get your shitty traps and the poor justification for them out of here

Yes, because people can't keep their mouths shut about DON'T LEAK THINGS OUT OF THE DISCORD NUMBNUTS

The Pilgrimage isn't adventure, it's duty. She'd know she was going to die for a long, long time.

But, man. I love the thought of an older, possibly middle-aged career woman. Maybe make her 40, possibly 45?

So, Event Horizon style scenarios are go with Starfinder. How do you think a Viral outbreak would be handled? Perhaps a research group of Mystics and scientist trying to find biological immortality unwitingly creates super organisms out of some viral strain picked up from space somewhere and the virus got out when the Lich CEOs got wind of it and wanted it shut down or the research under their control.

Taveena had said a number of things about the errata in these threads with her trip on, too.

youtu.be/CXpuRIZzJog

For Cantrips, always get Presdigitation. Also, what spells you're going to grab depends heavily again on what Bloodline you pick. However, by the time you get 3rd level spells you should have at least 1 reliable damage/combat spell, and 1 reliable movement/utlity spell

Tav wanted feedback in order to keep her mind from going numb from being the only sane individual working on errata. Bossman didn't like that and told her to stop, then took a hit out on her, just to be safe

I don't think I could do 45, but she is officially a cake at 26. And yeah, adventure might have been the wrong word, though you might tell a child that anyways.

F

>but she is officially a cake at 26
That doesn't feel like "career woman" is what I'm just saying, you'd give up on seeing a woman get married if she was still single, still devoted to her career, and in her late 30s early 40s.

Well then, I guess she won't be a career woman then.

Sounds about right.

user, most people settled down a lot earlier than 26 before the mid 1900's. Being single at that age due to focusing on your career in a society that isn't that far along the demographic transition is basically a "career woman"

It certainly feels like a "career woman" to me.

In a bid to reclaim her deityhood, Lamashtu started up her own megacorporation, Rain Poncho Inc,. Focusing on mostly basic drugs, she does fund a few, outside, groups to come up with things. Some times, those things break out.

Through several proxies, the PCs have been hired to clear it out, unaware that they are also being evaluated for Lamashtu's future plans.

So you're attempting to make Franze?
>Older Woman
>Used Goods
>Acts Motherly
>Focused on her Career

Who said anything about used goods?

>virgin christmas cake
Good. As it should be.

Oh boy, I can see that.

>PCs hired to inspect an outpost owned and operated by Rain Poncho.
>The outpost has been silent and word has only reached back as a smuggling outfit has launched a complaint about the silence and wanting due compensation
>PCs land to discover BOWs have taken over the station and a new life form has formed wanted to excape and spread
>One of the PCs gets infected but soon treated with a vaccine
>Rain Poncho executives evaluate trying to capture the PC for further study

Why are you so focused on shitting on this one user? What did they ever do to you?

Nobody cares about your shitty donut steel ERP avatar

Get this celebrityshit outta here

Okay, assuming Feat Tax rules in place, what feats are necessary for a Monk to take that that wants to focus on Grappling, aside from Grabbing/Kraken Style

Yup.

TPKs result in the next group fighting your mutated remains.

Is there a "not being a monk" feat? That'd top my list.

I forgot to mention that its for a UC Monk. Sorry, I figured that'd be a given.

Have a punchgirl as an apology for my lack of details

Are you an Unchained Monk? Because that's important.

you want improved grapple, greater grapple, and throat slicer.

chokeslam people and break their necks.

Yes

According to Feat Tax rules (scroll down to the comments) Improved Grapple got rolled up unto Unarmed

ah, sorry. the other suggestions still hold water, though.

Playing a Gunsmoke Mystic in an upcoming pathfinder game - going for maximum crunch.

Anyone have any tips on where to begin? I'm just dipping my feet into Path of War and Path of War extended.

Basically, any source goes as long as it isn't something super unknown and jank.

I've been playing with the weapon creation rules a little bit, seeing what I could make with it, since gnomes have a master tinker alternate racial trait which lends you proficiency with any weapon you could make, so far I've considered;
A 2-handed exotic melee weapon that deals 1d2 slashing damage (1 small), 18/20 x3 "Crit-fisher"
A 2-handed exotic melee weapon that deals 2d6 piercing damage (1d10 small), 18/20 x2 "Extra-greatsword"
A 2-handed exotic ranged weapon that deals 2d6 bashing damage with a range of 110 feet, x2, "Boulder tosser"
Is there any other silly weapon design's I haven't thought of? Probably something involving the spring-loaded feature, perhaps.

there's some neat stuff in Villain Codex that I have here in pic related. you may also want to look at some of legendary games' books. Treasury of the Machine is a particularly good resource if your world has the tech level for it, as there's both high tech and modern equipment in there.

Past those resource suggestions, a couple things; remember that there was recently some nerfs to the way ranged combat works, so you'll need to enchant specialty ammunition for various purposes when you don't want to fire the basic bullets created by your anima.

Also, lean heavily on Solar Wind and Elemental Flux maneuvers for your damage. Tempest Gale is good, but it's all about control, and lacks damage.

If you can find a way to consistently have Named Bullet cast, do so. Automatic criticals are insane with guns, and you want to make as much use of that fact as humanly possible. Preferably on called shots.

Does Erastil allow females to act as clergy.

Starfinder is a mistake and will sink the company.

Man, Throat slicer is pretty OP
Combined with Greater Grapple, and possibly Crane Riposte, and you essentially just pull one of these numbers
youtu.be/OlnBvrV8IW4

Yes.

No, only as breeders

I can't wait for Erastil's alignment to be changed to CE because he's a misogynist.

I hope it does.

G for lyfe

Bless you user. It's a start.

As long as they also can provide for their family just as well as they can the community, I don't see why not.

Every village needs the wise-woman who knows her herbs, helps the younger couples with their relationship problems, watch the villiage kids when their folks have to go to market, and take a switch to the troublemakers behinds.

tumblr pls go and stay go. You're breaking your granny's heart

Why does everything hurt.

Because you haven't killed yourself yet

>Every village needs the wise-woman who knows her herbs, helps the younger couples with their relationship problems, watch the villiage kids when their folks have to go to market, and take a switch to the troublemakers behinds.

user... Sandpoint has that woman.

She's not an Erastilian, she's a Pharasman.

Character died. Making a new one for Reign of Winter Campaign. About level 9ish.

Any suggestions?

A wizard. You're officially out of sucktown so you can go hog-wild.

>Any suggestions?

Level 9... You're in the Caves, or are you somewhere else?

What's the rest of your party look like?

We weren't talking about Sandpoint user, we were talking about in general.

Besides, Erastil and Pharasma only slightly overlap, in that Pharasmins are only concerned with midwife work, healing, and undertaking, whereas Erastil is concerned about addressing the needs of the community, the family, and frontier/agricultural settlements. Saying "X has this instead" is a non argument.

Or are you saying that Erastil doesn't actually do anything at all to work his portfolio because "muh pharasmins"?

>Or are you saying that Erastil doesn't actually do anything at all to work his portfolio because "muh pharasmins"?

If a Goddess of Revolutions can steal half of Erastil's profile, I think Pharasma has a shot!
