New sisters seem to be pretty arse overall and we have no idea what admech will become in 8th. But fluff-wise it's off, the Admech and the Ecclisiarchy do not get on at all because the Ecclisiarchy think the Admech are heretics and the Admech wont give any good stuff to the Ecclisiarchy.

i like 5 the most. all the ones with the red chest symbol make the wings kinda disappear against the rest of the red trim. 4's pretty good too, but again, having all the joint parts red makes them stand out a little less. otherwise a neat idea for a color concept, nice work

I'll outright state it. They're busy in a bad way with fucked up proportions. They resemble gorillas more than perfectly engineered warriors. The old art where they were leaner and had the robes was a way better look.

Is it just me or are random hits just not that great anymore? As in the new Blast.

It just seems like too random to ever trust. You could say the same about old Blast but at the very least you could decrease your scatter thanks to your BS but.. eh. Looking at the Fusion Blaster and Collider for the Ghostkeel for example, the collider has the same profile but D3 hits instead of a simple 1. Are the points you pay really that much worthwhile to get an average of 1 more hit than them? Especially when you can take a guaranteed 6 hits on the Raker?

I'm not complaining on the Ghostkeel itself but the new "Blast" mechanic

I think I'll start 8th using something pretty close to my existing army, to see how stuff handles.

1 Battalion with Celestine and Canoness, 3 flamer/heavy flamer sisters in MM immos

1 Outrider with Canoness, 2 Melta doms in flamer immos and a small squad of seraphim

2 Exorcists wherever, and a few imagifiers to see if they're worth taking.

Should be around 2000 points.

I think we're still stuck in the 7th mindset though. Imagifiers are good and AoF are good, but they don't combo well with either dominions or exorcists, which have been our go to units for forever. I'm definitely going to look at testing out larger infantry squads, and retributors with MM and Heavy bolters, i.e. units that have a decent chance of getting an extra shooting attack at the start of the turn.

We don't know yet. I sure as hell hope so.

Swarms are lame. A medium-sized army of big bugs with a squad or two of chaff is where it's at.

I'm returning to the game for 8th after a LONG hiatus.

I was going to be converting a bunch of models I already have or am going to purchase. What is the official tournament scene like in terms of what models they will allow on the table? Back in the day I think the rule was something like at least 50% of the figure had to be official GW sculpted stuff, to be allowed into a tournament. Does that still hold true?

I was simply going to convert some guardsmen into female troopers with some simple torso and head swaps.

I'm a bit miffed about that too. I play TS and while our infantry has gotten heaps more reliable, I still want to play a psychic-heavy army. Nerfing the amount of spells you have access to is already a blow to variety and fun but being essentially locked into a now-tiny pool is very stifling.
