Octarius War

we pretty much have unstoppable force meets other unstoppable force, who is going to win this war?

>inb4 warpstorm wipes out the whole space borne fleets of Orks and tyranids while girlyman leads his crusade onto Octaria itself to BTFO both armies

Silent King is going to arrive and wreck both Tyranids and Orks.

Neither, the Octavia was is going to be the explanation for why neither orks or tyranids do anything of value while everyone focuses on girlyman vs chaos.

The nids will eventually win by dent of xenoforming ork worlds. Greenskins can survive just about anything, but can their spores grow in an environment that has been corrupted by the nids?

If ork reproduction is hindered enough and the nids evolve more directly lethal weapons then the tyranids will eventually win out. they wont come out at anywhere near full strength though, the hive fleet in the area must be savaged to hell and back by now

Next campaign book is octarius war after 8e release

Fuck, this actually makes tons of sense.

>he thinks a campaign book means resolution
Expect other problematic xenos to also get involved so that the stage can be cleared for some hot girlyman on chaos action in the main plot.

GW's latest development with it was Ghazghkull arriving to save the losing Orks.

I doubt the Nids will win now because his presence and the assault on Baal ending badly for them

basically tyranids have the same problem as daemons
since killing them or their special character has literally zero impact on them as a faction, they're free to job to any named character.
Only made worse by the fact that tyranid victory literally deletes a planet even worse than a warp storm, meaning they can never win a major conflict.

Ghazghkull arriving to win the day is infinitely better than the utter garbage that was "Warp falls, Tyranids die."

This happens.

>"Warp falls, Tyranids die."
it is extra insulting because tyranids where established in a salamanders book to not give a flying fuck about warp storms and just going through one.

They shall.

I thought it was stated that it wasn't just a Warp storm but a full Daemonic invasion that wiped a lot of Tyranids.

All we know is that the fleet was there, a warp rift/anamoly appears in the sky, suddenly the fleet is gone and the imperial fleet is there. One moon has tons of tyranid skulls stacked in the symbol of kbantha.

My guess as to what happened is that the Khorne daemons slew all he tyranids on one moon, while the rest of the fleet was sucked into the warp and went the way of the Tau 4th sphere expansion fleet. They're bound to pop up somewhere important later on down the line for the super epic final showdown that changes the face of the 40k galaxy forever.

>literally deleted by the tyranids

Absolutely pathetic. Squats were a mistake

I sincerely hope that this is what will happen.

What is the source on this?

They're still canon actually.

Yeah they're called "Non-Primarine Space Marines"

...

Not canon. Tyranids avoid type 2 Warpstorms (the kind the bursts into real space) according to the codexes unless the Warpstorms in the Salamander novels was a type 1 warpstorm (the kind that happens and stays in the warp) which case makes you a moron.

They're still canonically wiped out by tyranids and only the ones not on their main Home worlds survived.

Neither side is going to win. It's going to be revealed that both the tyranids and the Orks have it in their best interests to keep the war going on. The tyranids have a near endless source of biomass, while Ghazz sends the Orks there so the veterans come out as ironjawz sized primaris orks

...

Are Orks smart enough to know that if you kill the synapse creatures, the rest of the swarm weakens? Because the Nids know better to target war bosses, and that may be the deciding factor in this war

...

rekt

That actually looks sort of cool, i guess. In a weird way, it reminds me of the space pirates from Metroid.

in octarius there is ghazkull, which is the poster hero of the orks
therefore, the nids can't win
the end

That fleet can't be so big to actually make impact in that ultimate battle.

it's the curse of having unkillable posterboys, same reason greater daemons and avatar of khaine jobs

But the Orks don't have unlimited numbers. In a war of attrition they will lose to something that can replenish their losses faster than they can.

No, but they will still target the synapse creatures because those are da biggest and da biggest are da strongest and any Ork that kills da biggest and da strongest is da Orkiest!

>because those are da biggest and da bigges
Hive tyrants aren't bio titans or tervigon sized

true dat'

they have as many number as the nids read-as the plot demand
while nids eat biomass, orks shrooms grow everywhere

It's a pretty large tendril, even with the losses taken from the blood angels, the cryptus system and the Khorne daemons. Surely bigger than the Taus 4th sphere expansion fleet or the Ynnari forces expected to also be at the final battle

They're still big, and therefore a target.

Can they grow on nommed ground?

>They're still big, and therefore a target.
so are carnifexes and tyranids routinely drown enemy big guys in those guys like they're a throw away unit

>while nids eat biomass, orks shrooms grow everywhere
Tyrannoformation eats Ork spores, more Orks can't grow on ground where nids have a foothold.

The Ork reinforcements are trickling in from other systems all over the place because they're hearing about the great fight and they want to get rich off all those big and plentiful Tyranid teef to buy more gubbinz

>>inb4 warpstorm wipes out the whole space borne fleets of Orks and tyranids while girlyman leads his crusade onto Octaria itself to BTFO both armies

Worst thing was how childishly it was written
>So many tyranids
>Every successor chapter comes
>And um then 5 chapter masters die
>Then umm theyre about to lose
>Guilliman shows up and the warp shows up and its totally cool
>Guilliman and primaris marines kill the nids and that bloodthirster kills an entire hive fleet and its totally sick

Just urgh

Still holding out for the hope that the Tendril wasn't actually BTFO offscreen by daemons and was instead sucked up the way the Tau fleet was. But holy shit that was some extremely bad fluff, even for the nu40k

>he thought GW was kidding when he said xenos where gonna take a backseat
literally anyone who gets in the way of marines vs spikey marines will get deleted.
Only reason Ghazzy is going to Octarius is because then tyranids and orks can fuck off and not affect the imperium.
