Unrest within the Golgari Swarm! The unexpected return of Vraska! Hints towards a massive power play!
I'm starting to get a sneaking suspicion that we'll be going back to Ravnica in the not-too-distant future...
Hudson Cooper
Jace should have had listened to Ral and stayed on Ravnica
Benjamin Young
I have to wonder if Vraska's endgame is simply to command the Golgari of if there's something more to it. I'd like to believe she's an agent of Bolas and we don't know it quite yet, but how the Golgari Swarm can exactly serve the Elder Dragon's ends remains a mystery to me. A veritable Terracotta Army at Vraska's disposal certainly seems useful though!
Robert Ward
>The unexpected return of Vraska! Vraska is on the art of the boosters for the next block. She's coming back soon.
Samuel Morales
Oh shit, really? Pics?
Nathaniel Gomez
likely by toppling the guilds, with the Golgari as the ones who raze it to the ground using pre-guildpact magic. One has to wonder how other guilds will react to this, especcially those like the Gruul and Rakdos
Wyatt Diaz
Atzlazan has been renamed to Ixalan, but the rest of the leak was genuine, at least the Amonkhet booster art
Elijah Ramirez
The Gruul (my niggas) and The Rakdos will take advantage of the chaos it unleashes and bring their own brand of destruction to the table. It'll be great to see the collapse of Ravnican society by the hands of the Jund-colored guilds!
Hmm... interesting. It certainly LOOKS like Vraska!
Isaac Fisher
Which Guild would be the one most likely to help Phyrexia should an invasion occur? I need this info for scientific reasons
Austin Kelly
Honestly, probably the Golgari. None of the Guilds really seem inclined towards artifacts, but Phyrexia and the Swarm both love cheating death over and over again.
Nathaniel Flores
>Implying the Dimir aren't already a guild of Sleepers
Evan Gonzalez
The Boros would come to the aid to protect the Innocent. Also they have artifact destruction.
Kayden Peterson
Jokes on you. the vast majority of Phyrexian creatures aren't classified as artifacts
Sebastian Hernandez
The Simic, I think. They are/were already in the territory of unethical experimentation, so why not go further?
Levi Adams
>Day 1. We've discovered some strange black liquid. Going to perform tests >Day 4. The liquid appears to have some strange attraction to metallic substances. testing continues. >Day 9. We're going to attempt to fuse metal into an organic life form to see what effect the strange substance has on it. >Day 10. FUCK SHIT FUCK FUCK FUCK. >Day 11. Everything went better than expected.
Ayden Cooper
In Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Magic: The Gathering we're going back to the most celebrated and beloved plane in the multiverse! Ravnica!
Hudson Baker
>not Dominaria at least, they can't fuck it up further. I wonder if the Jacestice League will be present or if the block will first deal with Vraskas insurrection and than a return to the return to the return to Ravnica with the Gatewatch will happen
Ryder Sanders
>tfw we're going back to Ravnica twice yet no word on Phyrexia
What was the goddamn point?
Lincoln Sanchez
I'm good with no Phyrexia. Hell, I'd rather Phyrexia and Dominaria be left to Magic's past, maybe revisited in stuff like Commander and other supplemental products.
Dylan Peterson
Pretty nice story, I really liked. See, this kinds of stories outside the overplayed Jacetice League are fun.
8.5 would read again.
Alexander Jenkins
Magic's best quality has always been the fact that instead of one setting it has potentially thousands of settings. When it actually explorers those planes, rather than using them as a stage where the Jacetice League can act out their plays in the last few blocks, has always been Magic at its best.
Christian Diaz
I was literally saying a few days ago I'd rather hear about golgari rot farmers than more jacetice league, and what do you know my wish came true. 7.5/10, only because I know they'll use this as an excuse to bring the Jacetice league in an ruin the whole competitative guild structure that's going on.
Connor Jackson
Kek, I remember your post. I may be wrong with the specific terminology, but would MTG be more setting driven than character driven?
Asher Peterson
When it's at its best, yes. I am far more interested in Kaladesh as a plane than as the stage for the play staring Chandra being a teenaged girl with mommy issues.
Josiah Nelson
Too bad we only saw one city, in the artbook they mention a few other cities but nothing much. But is there anything more to see? I mean we could visit a "rival" city with similar aestethics but different technology? Or perhaps a more green faction who believes no one should harvest aether?
Jose Butler
Great. One of my least favorite planes in all of mtg.
>Oh boy! Muh guilds! Wow!
No thanks.
Jace Evans
Shit taste detected
David Gutierrez
...
Brayden Rodriguez
Simic is the natural argument but given their specifics in the guild I think Dimir is a better answer here. Less about mutation, more about pure, unadulturated corruption towards perfection.
Nicholas Flores
Someone is edgy because they don't like guilds and a shitty plane? If anything, more than half of the fucking guilds are edgy as fuck. Go back to Rakdos with your goblin carnival penis.
Benjamin Perry
I don't know, senpai. After today's story I might go to a Golgari farm party
Hudson Miller
Smug anime Lily is the best
Jonathan Hall
Man, I am super hoping Hour of Devastation ends with the Jacetice League getting their shit slapped, and then on top of that, Vraska fucks up Ravnica cause Jace was off trying to be a Superhero rather than do his fucking job.
Don't let me down here WotC
Gabriel Scott
> Vraska complains about Gorgon oppression > The gorgon Sisters of Stone Death had been in charge of the Golgari for thousands of years until Ravnica 1 happened > They were supposed to be the last Gorgons in existance too > Writer didnt even read the freaking Ravnica books or is ignoring them in favor of another muh oppression story
Asher Kelly
To be fair, it's Vraska. She could just be talking bullshit.
Tyler Perry
The Protean Hulk makes sure anything its preyed on gets spawned again from its eggs. The sisters were killed a few decades ago, so in all likelihood, they were talking shit about being the last of their kind, were kept in the dark by the rest of the gorgons living in places without Golgari, or the Hulks laid some eggs with some Gorgons in them.
Luis Perez
No complains here, I hope the artist draws more smug Lili.
Also I would love to have a print of smug Lili
Jason Cruz
>"Ara ara, Jace-kun!" >"Oh Ho Ho Ho!" (pic related pose)
