How many necron players took their noose down after realizing GW is going to give us good rules and actually give a shit about us for another edition?

Enough generals

>painting human hieroglyphics on alien vehicles when Necron runes already exist

my dudes > your dudes

Show me the army lists you're planning on taking to your first game of 8th ed, niggers.

What's the maximum firepower I can put out with SM tanks?

NOBZ IN A NAUT?
NOBZ IN A NAUT.

>necrontyr are based off ancient Egyptians
>ancient Egyptians were undoubtedly black
Were necrontyr black?

hello, am from polan, here is custom regiment

Slaanesh rules

B-But user Orks are bad still didn't you see.

>Implying there aren't Monoliths hidden within the Egyptian Pyramids.

I wasn't that worried, but we're going to have a hard time with vehicle spam.

A shitload of guardsmen and tanks
Just like last edition

Haven't actually made a list, but it's basically gonne be all noise marines and raptors with a jump pack lord.
new noise marine ability looks potentially hilarious

what do I do with her now?
harpies are better in everything

I might actually start collecting nids, like I've been meaning to for three editions.

>THRONE! NOOOOOOO!

God's work user.

OPs get this shit in your pasta.

who cares about winning? i'm just in it for the WAAAAGH

Anything that creates a new unit (via reserves, summoning, or other special rules) requires that points be set aside during army creation to bring it into play. However, the wording of that rule specifies units ("Each time a unit is added to an army during battle...") which leads me to believe that special rules that add models to existing units (Daemonic Icons, Reanimation Protocols) do not need points set aside. This distinction is reinforced by the note in the Pink Horrors entry that states you have to pay points for the Blue and Brimstone Horrors their Split rule creates. That note would be unneeded if you had to pay for adding models to existing units by default.

TL;DR = Bringing a new unit onto the board requires points be paid. Adding models to an existing unit does not.

Well, we have all the points values, get writing the actual lists you lazy fucks.

Fulgrim when

looks like i have missed harpy and crone rule leaks. gimme gimme gimme

>Adding models to an existing unit does not.
logical, the rule was brought forth with the intention of stopping armies from growing indefinitely.

So in the eldar rules, there's no cost for swapping out a regular aspect warrior for am exarch? Barring warhead ofc.

>T. Games workshop sales department
Orkz are deader than before, the only difference is that they'll die in the field rather than run off board

You guys know of anything that could work as an alternate Kastelan head? I know Wargame Exclusive has some, but I'm always looking for other ideas.

Oh i will, but i'm first going home in two weeks and preparing a campaign for me and some buddies to get us familiar with the new edition, so making a list is second priority atm

Are you a woman?

well i've redone my eldar lists for 8th though i'm not sure about the new army lists blocks

8th list 1212
farseer, bike, witchblade, pistol (154, 0, 7) 161
10 guardians, scatterlaser (85+15) 100
10 guardians, scatterlaser (85+15) 100
3 jetbikes with 1 scatter (60+15) 75
9 dire avengers with exarch, power mace and shimmer shield (100+4+20+70) 194
nightspinner (155+0) 155
vyper starcannon and shuriken cannon (64+12+30) 106
wraithlord sword flamers and bright lance (103+9+9+20+10) 151
fire prism shuriken cannon (158+12) 170

*wargear

No just a hairy man

>Punisher Gatling Cannon
>Heavy 20 S5 AP0 D1

You guys ready for the BRRRRRRRRT!

Im so mad right now. So you are telling me baneblade has almost exact stats as knight, not even 2+ or T9. More fire power with shittier balistic, less assault potential and no invul and costs 100 points more.
FUCK
YOU
GW

first harpy
mortal wounds litterally coming from her ass and stranglethorn cannons are actually effective

I have no idea. I was hoping to make an Inquisition army but I don't even know where to start.

i'm a new player and see these seals everywhere. fluff-wise, are they actually working or do people wear them out of superstution?

Yep. Exarches are free now so you might as well grab em up for that +1w and +1a.

what do people think of pyrovores now? are they still the kings of the cuckshed?

No girls allowed unless they're actually boys

t. tau player
what's wrong with enjoying the game even when your army is bad?

There is pages missing for the Imperial 2 index - Page 124 and Page 125, it contains either more inquisition information or Custodian information

A baneblade has like over9000 fucking guns on it, you tard.

>+1S -1Ap ALWAYS 3 wounds.
vs a D3

Given that plus it's myriad of independent firing sponsons I think it is genuinely better.

>points cost not on a model's sheet
>power points are
why not both?

What about trannies

It's just religious reasons.

I kind of wonder if the best thing about the harpy won't turn out to be that sonic screech ability. That looks like it's got some serious utility.

Thinking of replacing my Falcon with a Wave Serpent. Falcons are too expensive. Any reason why they cost more than Fire Prism?

So with all this talk of 8th me and my oldfag friend decided to play 3rd edition
He brought Orks, I tried to build this psudo deathstar with yarrik and a bunch of hardened vets, turns out 7th edition mentality doesn't really work in 3rd and I was chopped to death by 'uge choppas, was a great time and hopefully I can play more with him, guess ranging on basilisks is fun as fuck

now tell me what I'm supposed to do with the crone?

the harpy can be better at anti infantry, better at anti elite, better antitonk, roughly similar or better flyer hunter, the melee is basically the same except for that single tail attack that hits on a 4+

BOYZ

Maybe some lootas

Damn, it's such a fucking sausage fest in here.

So how have your lists changed, /40kg/?
My 2k lists have become the following:
Eldar: 2630
Harlequins: 2361
Skitarii: 1818
Tzeentch Daemons: 2537

And lets not even talk about skitarii, harlequins, or daemons no longer fitting properly in detachments
or my daemons no longer playing even remotely close to how they did before.

...

>Deathspitter with slimer maggots
>Devourer with brainleech worms
Who the fuck game up with these retarded names?

Because weapons that are shared across datasheets can be updated independantly of all the sheets their on.

They seem like they could be playable. Drop them in a spore pod and flamenwerf away.

Likely the transport capacity.
A pulse laser + shuriken cannon is relatively similar to a prism cannon, I guess?

So, looking at the ork rules, it seems the following units are now actually good:

Lobbas. They were good before and they continue to be good. Durability is irrelevant when you can hide behind stuff. Hitting on BS is actually better with 4+ compared to scatter with no adjustment.
Kustom Mega Kannons. They nerfed them, but not hard enough. Still fuck shit up good and take a while to kill.
Deffkoptas, mostly because biggbombs are now free and fucking awesome. What fabulous retard gave them a cost of 0?
Blitza Bommas, because even more mortal wounds, motherfuckers.
Kommandos. Someone fucked up and made burnas free. Squad of five with a nob and two burnas is 45 points. Well worth it.

I'm probably going to take some killa kans too, because they aren't terrible and I love the models.

So, what do I take to round out my army? I'm going to need some HQs and the only ones which seem to offer synergy are Boss Snikrot to buff the kommandos and Big Meks on Bikes to repair the deffkoptas and kans while giving them invulnerable saves.

It got a price drop so suck it up and take what you can get for your center peice model

So you have no problem with
>14 13 12 9 HP
tank having same profile with
>13 12 11 6 HP
>gutted demolisher
>6 heavy bolters
>auto cannon
>4+ to hit, and gets worse
>can't charge and brake faces
>can't stomp
>doesn't have invul
>costs more

SPACE WOLVES BTFO

BLOOD ANGELS ASSAULT MARINE SPAM IS BACK
>Blood Chalices +1 Strength
>Unleash Rage +1 Attack
>Death Company & Lemartes holy shit

We lost overcharged engines on everything but Baal Predators are fucking amazing.

Cruddace probably.

I don't understand why modern GW is so bad at names.

another hairy tyranid player here; what did you expect? 100% of female population?
it's already something if it's 10%

Fire Prism focused is S12 AP -4 D d6

how do you transport your minis without spending fucking 100 bucks on a gw suitcase?

>sausage fest
Welcome to most nerd hobbies, but there are some females
You don't have to say but any girls here post a tyranid picture so that we'll know they're here

>Longstrike
>2 more Hammerheads
>Devilfish full of Drones
>Sky Ray

Should hopefully be able to squeeze that under 1000 points, but that's the general idea

>price drop
>was 575
>now 567
Based

Skitarii... yeah. Suddenly I need to build two tech priests to even field a decent sized skitarii army using the battalion detachment. Quite fucking annoying. Atleast I already have the dudes because I got 3 of the start collecting sets, but it's still more shit forced into my painting queue.

Where are the inquistion/SoB servitors? Have they been squatted?

I just use a normal suitcase.

oh I see.
definitely the transport capacity then

>So, what do I take to round out my army?
Stormboyz

Lots and lots of Stormboyz

The tech priest dominus duders that came with the starter kit go cheap on ebay because nobody wanted them with skitarii

...

Considering every other super heavy seems to be more expensive? Yeah, a lot better relatively

They're in.

Sisters got a sidegrade of sorts. Except squads of penitent engines. They can run through imperial knights in a single charge.

To throw something out there, I kind of like the look of burna boyz as a cheap(ish) warboss escort.
>advance to get close
>shoot because Assault weapons
>don't give a fuck about -1 penalty because autohits
>charge because of Waargh
>hit things at AP -2

You could build one yourself for dirt cheap with some wood, nails, glue and foam.

I didn't say it was a big one guardsmen-chan
If you think is guardsmen ever get nice things then you need to go see your local commissar

thank you and those spores truly look awesome.
luckily i magnetized all my fliers just for this type of situation.
cant you just change the loadout on the model, nobody cares about the head just change those guns and snip missiles off.

Yep. I'm actually surprised my army lost nearly 200 points. Lets me at least fit the dominus in there without changing too much up.

Also means I can just move straight to a heavy-support detachment, because of the army comp I had before (3 vanguard/onagers, killcade, dragoon formation)

Sucks that rust stalkers and infiltraters got nerfed so hard, but at least they're super cheap (comparatively) now

definitely look playable, I know GW said they'd be good but it's still honestly quite surprising.

It's difficult to say, because a lot of the material is written from an in-universe perspective and people in the setting believe they do stuff. Also, the writers are incredibly inconsistent, believing in stuff really hard actually seems to sort-of work and there are probably a load of different types of seals ranging from certificates that an item has been inspected and found to be in good order to actual magical talismans.

How much for stompa and naut?

Seems coteaz's trolling days are over, he lost half his abilities and his classic anti deep striking trick has been limited to inq units only and only snap shots
It was deserved but I'll miss the butthurt I could accumulate with just one 100 pt model

Yep I have to buy a tech-priest if I want to play my Skitarii in future. Not only that but all the movement bonuses from the Maniples are gone and we still have no transport to make up for it. Also the Canticles are a waste of space compared to the old Docrinta's.

But at least I can afford to get Omniplexs for everything since I freed up about 300 pts.

slugga boyz + trukk

not sure about what else

stompa is 900

I've found out that I need an HQ for my Custodes so I'm throwing in a Magos Dominus and some Skittari to round out the list. Going for a very General Grievous feel. The Custode Tribune who leads them got torn too pieces on the Vengeful Spirit and is "more machine than man" now. I think it'll be fun to have Custodes chopping the enemy to bits well radiation and phosphex blast them into skeletal ruins.

Yeah, Burnas do seem relatively improved. Only d3 shots is a bummer though.

I was also hoping them and some of the other specialist boyz would get an upgrade option for heavy armor. Instead normal boyz just lost it entirely.
