Honestly pretty happy with 8th edition for both my armies. Tau got guy in a good way and lists should be fluffier. BA had some changes (sanguinary discipline and out characters not being mudermachines) but I'm ultimately ok with everything.

They're at least interesting. Platoons are gone, blobbing is gone, HWS aren't trash anymore, vets and command squads are elites now. Those are the major things I found.

Picking Combat Drugs. Oh god, this is so nice. I know that I still have to spread the different bonuses around, but simply being able to pick and choose which bonuses will go where is so, so nice. It's also nice that the Leadership buff from drugs is solid now rather than being a complete waste like it was before.

Quick modeling question for anyone that owns a Sicaran Battle Tank.

Would a Leman Russ turret fit on it in place of the original turret? And how does the size compare to the Leman Russ' profile?

Its suffering I can take roughly 6 Lascannon HWTs for the price of a Vanquisher with one Lascannon. Instead of 3 Vanquishers as anti-tank I could go glass cannon with 6 Heavy Weapon Squads totaling 12W and 18 Lascannons with points to spare.

But I'm going to try tank guard with artillery and Enginseer buddies to see if they can hold up well considering I'm used to my tanks exploding instantly or being stunned to death.
